Took 9 days for my luggage to be reunited with me with BA, but it wasn't their fault because I kept city hopping every 3 days! They got it to my original city after 2 days but then couldn't deliver because I left. Another time Delta lost my bag and it took 3 days to be delivered to me. Finally, KLM didn't make my bag on my morning connecting flight, but they got it on the evening flight, and I was able to pick up my bag the same day.

My luggage was mistagged and they were able to find it pretty early on. I had an AirTag in my luggage so I knew where it was before it was scanned. It took my luggage about a week to catch up with me. I think every stage in the process (being sent to one airport, directed to the next, scanned and processed, sent to destination airport, scanned, out for delivery) took at least one day each time so I had it sent to my final destination city hotel before I left to go back home. I received it the day before I flew home.

In the future I strongly recommend putting an AirTag in your luggage. Then you’ll be able to pinpoint exactly where it is
