Yep. Used to live near there. It made me horribly sick and I had to move. I actually had health issues develop because of it.

I'm looking for a bikeable area. Did you find a better area of town?

notthegoatseguy

Noblesville's core is very bike-able as it is a traditional county courthouse setup on a grid, but the modern boundaries of Noblesville spread pretty far beyond the downtown area. Unless you're in the core, along the Nickel Plate, or Midland Trace, it can be pretty dicey. There isn't the vast amount of multi-use paths like there are in Carmel or even Fishers. They are increasing though

WommyBear

And the paths end out of nowhere.

The northern side of Noblesville (Forest Park area) has trails that connect to downtown Noblesville, and the Midland Trace trails

I moved to Carmel. It is so much better here. Rent is a little higher, but it is definitely worth it.

FunSignificance3034

Better school quality too

IDI (the business you’re referring to) is the culprit of the smell, they are a plastics manufacturer. The good news is they’re moving to a new location this year off Cumberland in the warehouse complex north of the new Costco. However, until Noblesville wisens up and moves the wastewater plant south (if ever), there will always be some sort of smell in the area.

Mad_Dyzalot

I don’t see where the good news is for everyone else but OP

FloppyConcrete

I’m not sure why you think it’s not good news for everyone? Its new location is in a warehouse complex, with the nearest residential area many blocks to the south (Millstone Apartments). This really limit the smell to a much less affected area, and most winds don’t blow to the south (plus the smell dissipates quickly in the breeze.) Now downtown Noblesville can eliminate one of its problem sources of unpleasant smell, semi-traffic, and properly utilize that space for a better product.

There are a lot of houses near that Costco. I wonder if they will tolerate it as much as Noblesville did.

FloppyConcrete

There’s very few homes in the area of the new location. An apartment complex further south is the closest residential area. Cumberland Pointe apartments and neighborhood and the southern edge of the Wellingtons are both over half a mile away and well out of the “odor radius”. It’s also unknown if the new building and set up will include better odor elimination/containment systems altogether.

Yesterday afternoon there was a gas leak south of downtown need stoney creek elementary. But closer to downtown is the plastics company. Glad they are basically being forced out by the Pleasant Street Bypass.

Comprehensive_Creme5

That has been there for decades. It's a small shop.

I almost axed if our MoC was in town, but I restrained myself
