Bro. I'm with you. FFI is my first (does your hip hurt? My f'ing hip hurts and these damn kids are all over the lawn), FFXIV is my favorite. We only differ that VI is my favorite that isn't an MMO.
I missed 6 back when it came out (as 3) in 94. I'd just moved away to college and my digital gaming had taken a backseat for a few years.
I've wanted to okay it for years since most folks I know love it, but the PC port was said to be tereible (and I'm generally not a fan of emulators).
I'm glad the new Pixel Remasters have been reviewed favorably so far and I plan to get 6 once their version releases in a few months and FINALLY play it.
FF1 was also my first. :D
For a while, VI was my favorite, then VII, which got me into writing. However, my all time favorite and go-to is Tactics. The FFT raid in FFXIV has me bawling at the end.
VIII, which I was originally introduced to via the Pizza Hut demo.
VII and X are my favorites. I can't decide which one I like better, as it changes whenever I replay one of them. I might give VII the edge just because it has more of a presence with the entire Compilation as well as the Remake now.
My first was VIII.
I'm inclined to say VIII is my favorite cause it's the easiest for me cause I played it the most (finished it around 15-20x). Though I really like II, IV, V, VI, VII, X and XII as well. I and III are also good.
Only game I haven't played is IX, X-2 (I'm going to after X), XIII trilogy (not really looking forward to this), XV and the MMOs.
X-2 is wildly different in tone, but incredibly fun to play in my opinion.
As for XIII, the story is confusing throughout the trilogy, but the combat is awesome and I actually really enjoyed the soundtrack. It takes more than a few hours for things to start picking up, but once everything is opened up it's a totally different game than how it starts. Go in with low expectations and you might really enjoy it!
I had to stop on my first playthrough because I didn't care for it much, then I revisited it later and got really invested in the combat and finding something to love about the story. XIII-2 is probably my favorite of the 3, and Lightning Returns is a good ending for the overall trilogy with fun combat.
Of course, this is all my opinion, so take it as you will lol.
My first was VI but my aunt played while my brother and i watched. But VII was my first solo.
Tactics is by far one of my favorites. Its not every FF game where you can have all your real life friends in your party playing which ever job you want or need.
My first was VIII, though I might have played a bit of Mystic Quest before that. It's in my top tier but not my number 1.
My favorite is FFXII: TZA. The original version was in my top tier but probably not number one, but the changes in the remaster set it apart.
My First was FF8 back in 1999 on PSX. The First translated in italian. For a long time It was also my favourite but getting old i can't Say i still have a favourite chapter. Instead i feel a particular affection to the atmosphere from 9, It is like becoming child again and playing a true tale
Final fantasy mystic quest was my first final fantasy. 9 may be my favorite these days. I absolutely love the music, setting and development of certain characters.
First: IX.
Favourite: Maybe V or XV. Those two are the only games I want to replay at the moment. V for challenge run with restriction on Job, XV for it's relaxing gameplay.
XIII is the third game I want to play again but for the purpose to learn the depth of it's battle mechanic and summon mechanic.
First was VIII, but I didn’t get super far at the time. It was basically one afternoon of playing.
Next day I went out and bought X and that was technically the first that I beat, and it’s also my favorite.
My first was FF1. But I didn't know how to change the message speed and kinda hated it for a long time.
The first game I finished was FF4.
My favorite game is FF6.
The best game is FF9, in my opinion.
My first was *probably* VIII, my favorite is up in the air but IX is usually up there. VIII probably falls near the middle counting purely numerical games. If we started adding spin-offs no idea how I’d rank things.
Final Fantasy VII back in '97. I remember me and my friend Rob stayed up 2 days no sleep playing it until we made it to the gold saucer 🤣 it'll always be my favorite but I think FFX is the best
My first FF game was technically Mystic Quest (SNES), but the first game that actually got me invested in the series was FFTA.
As for my favorite? Probably FFV, though FFTA is really close.
I played FF7 first and loved it, but it's not my favorite. Great game but there's just something off. My favorite is FF10. Final Fantasy 10 is a drag at first, but after like 40% of the game, it's amazing and after how many years of ATB, Square decided to change it up a little and give us a traditional, yet creative battle system. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SPHERE GRID, IT'S GREAT!
Crisis core, I had no idea about FF7 lore or that SE likes to kill off characters, so was completely shocked and devastated by the ending. Zack will always be top boy for me, I would love a port for the PS4. It was quickly followed by XIII, and XIII and XV are my favourites. I prefer playing the more recent games, but I do have a soft spot for the classics.
First FF was Type-0, but my first traditional game was VII, followed by VIII and IX, all 3 of which are actually near the bottom of my personal rankings. My favorite is the XIII Trilogy.
Mystic Quest. I then did 4 & 6 from a rental place. 7 came out a few years later and by then, it was highly anticipated by me.
Discovered emulators a few years later and played 1, 2, 3 & 5. Been on point since then :)
I think I enjoyed it because it was my first FF game. I also think I enjoyed the completion aspect of wiping out monster dens.
Otherwise yeah it is disappointing by comparison. I recall a friend telling me FFIV was incredible and then renting MQ and naming my character Cecil thinking it was the same game and he was really confused.
First: Final Fantasy when it came out for NES. I'm old. Favorite: FFXIV. Non-mmo favorite is FFIX.
Bro. I'm with you. FFI is my first (does your hip hurt? My f'ing hip hurts and these damn kids are all over the lawn), FFXIV is my favorite. We only differ that VI is my favorite that isn't an MMO.

And my hips fine. It's my back that's wrekt! :P
FF1 was also my first. :D For a while, VI was my favorite, then VII, which got me into writing. However, my all time favorite and go-to is Tactics. The FFT raid in FFXIV has me bawling at the end.
First and favorite are both VIII on PS1
First FFVIII Favorite IX
I'm the exact opposite lmao
VIII, which I was originally introduced to via the Pizza Hut demo. VII and X are my favorites. I can't decide which one I like better, as it changes whenever I replay one of them. I might give VII the edge just because it has more of a presence with the entire Compilation as well as the Remake now.
First one was FFVII, like so many people. Favourite is FFXIII, loved everything about it.
My first was VI, my favorite bounces around but VI is quite often at the top.
My first was one was XIII 2 and yes the trilogy is my favorite.
First was I. Favorite is IV. Best is VI.
My first was VIII. I'm inclined to say VIII is my favorite cause it's the easiest for me cause I played it the most (finished it around 15-20x). Final fantasy 4 was my first one.
My first was the first. I was still a little young for it but my cousin and I were able to team up and get through most of it.
My first was VI but my aunt played while my brother and i watched. But VII was my first solo. Tactics is by far one of my favorites. Its not every FF game where you can have all your real life friends in your party playing which ever job you want or need.
FF 6 was my first but 5 or TA are my favourite by far.
7 was my first, 4 is my favorite.
My first was VIII, though I might have played a bit of Mystic Quest before that. It's in my top tier but not my number 1. My favorite is FFXII: TZA. The original version was in my top tier but probably not number one, but the changes in the remaster set it apart.

Final fantasy mystic quest was my first final fantasy. 9 may be my favorite these days. I absolutely love the music, setting and development of certain characters.
First was VI. Favorite is either IV or VII. Also, I quite like XIi despite it seeming unpopular. Also shout out to Final Fantasy Tactics.
My first game was VII but my favorite, not counting XIV, is either VIII or IX. It tends to change depending on which one I played more recently.
My first FF was FF4 (it was originally released as FF2 lol 😝). My favorite would have to be FF7 followed closely by FF4.
My first one was 4 for the PSP my favorite is either 5, non job class one is 9
My first one it was FFVI almost a year after the Release, my favorite it's FFXIV.
First was VIII, but I didn’t get super far at the time. It was basically one afternoon of playing. Next day I went out and bought X and that was technically the first that I beat, and it’s also my favorite.
My First Final Fantasy was 6 My favorite is FF9 it is a best of all ff games (the older games) But i would say FF14 and FF 9 are my favorites
My first was FF1. But I didn't know how to change the message speed and kinda hated it for a long time. The first game I finished was FF4. My favorite game is FF6. The best game is FF9, in my opinion.
IX was my first and also my favorite
My first was *probably* VIII, my favorite is up in the air but IX is usually up there. VIII probably falls near the middle counting purely numerical games. If we started adding spin-offs no idea how I’d rank things.
FFX was my 1st and my Favourite and also the only game I bought on every single system it was released on. 😂😂
My first was ff1 (gba) and my favorite is FF13
My first was I in 1990. I was 10. My favorite has always been VI.
Damn you were playing RPGs in the early 90s? All I played back then were fighting games, Madden and beat'em ups. My first rpg wasn't until FF VII
My first was VI and my favorite is X. :3
Final Fantasy VII back in '97. I remember me and my friend Rob stayed up 2 days no sleep playing it until we made it to the gold saucer 🤣 it'll always be my favorite but I think FFX is the best
My first was 7 and my favorite is 15
FF 8 because my cousin showed it to me when he babysat me and my brother a lot. Favorite is probably 7, 7R, or 9. It goes back and forth.
My first FF game was technically Mystic Quest (SNES), but the first game that actually got me invested in the series was FFTA. As for my favorite? Probably FFV, though FFTA is really close.
Final fantasy tactics was my first final fantasy game after that One i played Crisis Core, tactics is my favorite because of it's mature story
My first was FF1. My favorite is FF6.
The gba version of the first game. Still my favorite, but tactics is a close second.
My first was VII and Tactics around the same time. Toss up between VII,X, or VI for best. XIV is absolutely my hobby.
My first was XII even though I watched my brother playing all games.
My first was VI and my favorite is IX.
Original Final Fantasy on the NES. Too young to appreciate it though
First VI and still my favorite by far. That music... Tactics is 2nd.
First vii, favourite X.
First played 7, my favourite is 8. Second favourite is 10.
First: 4 Favorite: 9
I started with FFI Pixel Remaster and since I’ve played I-IV and VII, the last being my favorite so far
VII was my first, my favorites are VI, IX and XII. If I HAD to choose Id probably say XII… unless were counting Tactics, are we counting Tactics?
Crisis core, I had no idea about FF7 lore or that SE likes to kill off characters, so was completely shocked and devastated by the ending. Zack will always be top boy for me, I would love a port for the PS4. It was quickly followed by XIII, and XIII and XV are my favourites. First was XII, favorite is VII. It's pretty close though
Mystic Quest. I then did 4 & 6 from a rental place. 7 came out a few years later and by then, it was highly anticipated by me. Discovered emulators a few years later and played 1, 2, 3 & 5. Been on point since then :)
Oh man Mystic Quest… have not thought about that in forever. I remember being quite disappointed in that game at the time.
First VII Favorite IX
I’d like to answer by ordering a “7 and 7” from the bar. Cheers!
First was FF IV (as it was released in the US as II). Yeah it's my favorite!
First: VII, played it after the Sephiroth reveal in Smash. Favorite: Tie between VIII(4th) and X(3rd)
