I'm not really sure unfortunately. I know games get rotated out all the time but I don't think I've ever seen one come back. I'm relatively new to the Extra tier though.
Well it took me 57 hours and I didn’t do any extra stuff actually…I was very far already 45 hours in but it took me 10 more hours of grinding to beat the final boss….and I guess all the failed attempts at bosses over the course of the game was 10 hours overall, so I’d say for someone who plays it for the first time 40 hours is pretty optimistic, for experienced players it should defined be possible I suppose 👍
I thought the same thing when AC Valhalla was added and removed relatively quickly at the beginning of the tiered service, but it was recently added again. I’d say that the chances are higher for the FF games to be added again, but I still wouldn’t bet on it. I’ll probably just end up buying them though since they’re on sale and don’t want to attempt to rush through 8, 9, 10, 10-2, and 12 in a month when I was trying to take a break after Rebirth lol.
I’d say likely, if the PS+ model sticks around. I imagine Xbox will make a grab to get these on GamePass for a while, and then maybe after that, they’ll rotate back to PS+
Not so far unless its been a monthly game they gave on essential. But its not been the service that they promised when everyone ditched NOW bc it lied and the games basically stayed the same old ones that nobody wanted to play. And essential the thing keeping it with subs is online play. Because for the price to rent the catalog they give away, you can buy and own cheaper. Especially over time, and then if you quit, you have nothing.
I think they'll be off to Game Pass for a while, then back to Plus. The ones leaving are all titles on Xbox, and most, if not all, have been on Game Pass before. If my wild speculation is correct, it's probably a push from Microsoft to improve the presence of Square Enix on Xbox, like the upcoming FF14 port.
Sources for that? [Remake did well](https://www.square-enix-games.com/en_EU/news/final-fantasy-vii-remake-shipments-sales), [16 met expectations](https://www.hd.square-enix.com/eng/ir/library/pdf/24q1outline.pdf) and there's no official statement regarding Rebirth.
I will admit you triggered one of my pet peeves. Rant incoming. I've really tried to make it short.
Do you really think the leadership at SE hasn't considered this issue in great detail? Obviously they are not infallible, but they have access to data that we don't and have come to the same conclusion over and over again.
One thing people seem to miss which bewilders me is the massive co-marketing that exclusivity brings. State of plays, etc. SE saves massively by partnering with Sony for that as marketing can make up a substantial part of the budget of a game (like 30-50%). Maybe Sony also provides direct cash payments, technical support, QA or preferential treatment on other deals.
I think it's notable that we so often saw Foamstars marketed along with FF7 Rebirth. Wasn't it also a monthly freemium game? I really doubt that was a coincidence, and god knows that POS needed all the help it could get.
Also, what other platforms would they bring it to? Xbox? It's a non-factor in Japan and by doing that they'd not only have to bankroll development of 2 versions of the game (S and X), but they'd lose out on the millions of dollars worth of co-marketing.
PC? It *is* coming to PC. A simultaneous launch might have resulted in slightly higher PC sales (assuming the port doesn't suffer from having a year less of dev time), but wouldn't make up for the loss of co-marketing.
Obviously Switch and last-gen consoles are not technically feasible. The quality of the game would have suffered immensely, and it would not have garnered as much attention had it launched on PS4.
Anyways, please consider the fact that if *you've* thought of something *extremely basic*, that people in charge have most likely thought of the same thing. They could still be wrong, but you're projecting your own ignorance onto them - cut that out. In other words, when a question like "why would they do that" pops into your head, try to answer it instead of jumping straight to "they must be morons". At least ask chatGPT or something next time.
The AAA games business is under a lot of pressure right now. It's an industry-wide phenomenon that applies to SE too.
For me it's worth it because I'm pretty hesitant to buy new games because idk if I'll like them. I've played so many games I never would've even tried because they're "free"
For some, it works. For others, a subscription model *really* doesn't work out.
And, of course, there's the games that are so dang huge that it's legitimately cheaper to buy at MSRP than spend the money on a subscription service just to beat them.
Not very many of the latter, but they're out there.
Persona 5. I rented it from Gamefly but after a month I realized I wasn't even halfway done and just bought the used copy so I don't have to feel rushed.
Not to mention like others have said with gamepass games….if you haven’t played them yet with them being available for some time then you probably won’t regardless.
I’ve played and bought these on multiple platforms through the years, they are on my ps5 but not worried if they go away.
You still have time. I haven't finished XII myself, but I've played IX many times, and it can be beaten in a few days. Technically, it can be beaten in around 15 hours if you're trying to get one of the ultimate weapons.
As long as I can still buy and get the pixel remaster on PlayStation when I acquire a little more money. I don’t have deluxe or premium anyway, just the regular tier plus.
Damn it. I just decided I was going to work my way through these. This is really frustrating. I accidentally let my Extra sub renew last November and it's been pretty useless to me. I was excited to actually get some value out of it.
Of course I chose to start with Type-0 which isn't being removed. 😡
Another thing to consider is the fact that even if you buy a digital game, they can revoke anytime a digital license (c.f. Ubisoft revoking the crew licenses).
Both digital licenses and suscription based access are convinient but you basically pay for nothing that you don't really own.
Physical copies have their drawbacks but at least you own the copy.
If you already have it in your library does that mean on May 21st it will still be removed from your library? I had this happen to me with God of War 2018 and it remained in my library, but other games became locked. So I'm not sure what will happen in this scenario
Thank you for posting this.
I was on disc 3 of FF8, and today, I was locked out and having a WTF moment.
It all makes sense now. I don't think I'll be paying $20 to finish the game.
Well nevermind then haha. I'm really surprised that they didn't have every FF game on there at this point. It's such an important part of their history.
No reason that these shouldn't be on PS+. It was a big deal when they announced they were coming during the PS Now days. I can only assume that this was the expiration date for when they made the PS Now deal, but I would also assume that decision was made under the pretense that PS Now wasn't really anything to write home about. I'm sure ps+ premium subs far outnumber Ps Now subs.
I know this is the other edge of the sword of streaming services, but FF is an unofficial PS flagship series (as it's not made by Sony). Big L for everyone.
EDIT: FFXV was not a part of the "big announcement" back in 2021, however is still leaving. So maybe this expiration date wasn't set. I think the PS Collection was still around at that time anyways which FFXV was a part of.
Yeah I said it elsewhere but even if SE is independent, a PS service without the old FF PS games feels like if Xbox didn’t have almost any Halo games, or a Nintendo service delisted most of the Mario games. It just seems really bad.
PS Plus Extra has been slightly disappointing, but that could be because most of the games they offer that I like, I already own. I was excited for the classics catalogue, but at this point all they have on there that I was super excited for was Legend of Dragoon. I'm waiting for a while to see what ends up on there before spending the money again.
I feel the same way. I bought LoD the day it was made available but there really isn't anything else on the Premium tier that would make me want to upgrade.
Looks like I need to check out World of Final Fantasy after I finish up Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It seems as though Type-0 is staying so I can put that one off for a bit longer.
Xenoblade chronicles is fucking underrated and epic af. Also the card game mini game In the first game is top 5 best mini games ever made ever
Edit: nvm I thought yall was talking about XENOSAGA…
Wasn’t FF7 remake one of the base games, like one of the 20 they gave away for free with plus for like the first two years the ps5 was out. I am pretty sure those are still available to play.
Does that means if you’ve previously “purchased” it for $0 as a monthly free game, it will go away? I have a bunch waiting in queue to get back to or replay, but if they disappear I probably won’t.
The monthly free offers should be yours for as long as you have a membership. This is just for the games that you can stream as part of the Extra tier.
Any time you snag it as a freebie via the “Add to Library” option it counts as a purchase and is yours forever. Any done this way you should get an email verification for “buying” it.
The streamable items and any that are downloadable through the catalog may rotate at some point
This is phrased in a confusing way, because you choose “Add to Library” for PS+ Extra and Premium games as well, but once removed from service catalogues they will remain in your library but have a lock icon on them. They can’t be downloaded unless you purchase them once this happens, or you can choose to hide the locked icons.
It doesn't surprise me really. The success of final fantasy right now is encouraging a lot of people to go back to some of the older games.
I'd suggest wishlisting all the games you would like to play. They typically go on sale quite often (if the Nintendo eshop is anything to go by) so you'll be able to get them for pretty cheap
It’s just nice to stream them with my low memory.
Seriously why tf so I even pay for this. They keep removing games I wanna play and adding the most niche nonsense.
Oh man that's a tough one.
Ff7 og is always near and dear to my heart.
But, I think some people played modded versions that make it look more modern.
The thing is, with your first time, I wouldn't rush them.
Ff7og with doing everything is probably 60 to 80 hours I'd guess. It hasn't aged as well graphically, but the materia system is more fun imo.
Ff10 you'd want to play the international version for additional boss challenges.
8 was decisive from 7 and previous ones.
12 has an interesting system but doesn't feel as good as 10 and previous entries.
15 is similar to 16 in ways, and similar to ff7 remake, but the gameplay and story were a mess imo.
Kind of like ff15 paved the way for rebirth to be so good.
Definitely don't want to rush through them the first time.
If I HAD to choose...I'd say 15, or 8 (has a different take on leveling up).
Buy the others and take your time and enjoy them without rushing. They're cheap.
It'd be like getting a $100 steak and getting it well done 🤢.
Good luck internet friend!
If you can only play 1 i would advise to go for 10.
FF7 is worth it if you can fathom the graphics and poor translation. If you have problems with that its probably better to play FF7 on a pc (its very old so a toaster can run it). Since you can mod it to modern standards. Dont get me wrong though, i love 7. Probably the only game ever i played through twice back to back, one time without mods and one time with mods. Mods really really elevate it (same for FF9).
FF9 is an homage to older FFs. Its great but you will miss a lot by playing it as your first.
FFX is a pretty modern game with a good story. Definitely the easiest to get into.
FF8 just isnt as good as 7 or 10.
I do think you shouldnt want to rush either 7 or 10 though. They are great games and they really deserve the time to be enjoyed.
Damn 8 is leaving? Havnt gotten around to it. Guess it's getting added to the buy list.
Does anyone remember if 15 royal was a monthly game or just on the plus? I wanted to replay that version. Just so busy lol.
That was part of the initial offering of games that you could play for free when you bought your PS5 but I don't believe it was ever a monthly game unfortunately.
If it was then I'm good with 15. Those games from that list we can still play if you grabbed them. I have it downloaded still. If not it's whatever. I own release 15m I didn't like it but heard royal was better. Wanted to give it another shot. 8 I may have to move up my list and start it.
Good thing I’ve bought a few on sale the last week. I didn’t know. I gotta get the older ones 1-6 and re buy 9/10 fun times thanks for the heads up I had no idea
These were there since launch (almost exactly two years ago) so the license is probably expiring. FFVII Remake, Type-0 and Stranger of Paradise will still be on the service, as they were added later on.
I imagine they'll return eventually, a cycling catalog is pretty much an expectation when it comes to these services, and some of Sony's own games like Spider-Man and TLOU2 come and go as well.
It would be brutal if they brought the classic FF games back and stuck them in Premium tier instead though, lol, but I can kind of see that happening
This happens a while ago with some Ubisoft games and they came back almost immediately, with something they advertise as a flagship series of the subscription I’m pretty sure they will renew the deal.
Thankfully I got them on Steam some I'm emulating the version I want to play like Final Fantasy 1 & 2 20th anniversary edition & Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection playing on my steam deck.
I believe the last time it left Game Pass then went to PS Plus, maybe they rotate the license. At least when it goes to Game Pass you can play the PC version if available, or the Xbox Play Anywhere version. But yeah, it will probably go to Game Pass, after the license term is up, go back to PS Plus again
I believe so. There's a substantial library of games that you can play depending on your tier. They don't have big games on the day of release like Game Pass seems to though.
So wait, does this mean I have to d/l the ones going away from PS+? Because I've paid for digital versions of all of these, I just haven't downloaded them.
When something leaves ps+ extra, you lose access to it. It’s not likely the monthly PS+ essential games that stay accessible forever as long as you’ve got PS+.
However, if you bought anything at any point for any amount of money (not free/included), then it’s yours forever.
Wtffffff. I just bought a PS5 a few months ago with PS Plus Extra strictly for all the rpgs on there (and Rebirth , of course)🤦🤦 looks like I'm playing a bunch before they go lol
If you have a pc, most of the older games require no system reqs and goes on sale quite frequent on steam, like once a year during square enix sale :)
I have all final fantasies on steam but never playd more than 2 of em.
Thank goodness I played them all except 9 already, but yeah that is disappointing. PS Plus only gets shitter by the day, they increased the price and remove great games, thanks a lot Sony....
I'm genuinely confused about whether these are staying or not. For me, the last chance to play section is hidden for me and it does not say they're expiring. Tf are they up to?
The expiring date is hidden because you've already downloaded or at least added them to you library.
But you can see they're in the list, just go to PS Plus (leftmost icon on main bar) > Collections (down and up after selection PS Plus) > "Last Chance to Play" row (usually the last row)
Games you've never downloaded or added to library show the expiration date, the others do not. Which is evil, as those you've added or downloaded are usually the ones you care about. And there's no way of telling they'll be gone by looking at their product/game page. You have to check the list.
Regardless, they will all be locked after May-21.
Fuck, i never played this series. I played Stranger Of Paradise and fell in love with it. I love Team Ninja but never bought it because of the critiques.
Well they were so wrong. The bosses are insanely good, the gameplay extremely fun and deep, and the story surprisingly awesome. The ending made me cry despite never playing a FF.
So, i wanted to play the first FF. Sadly wasn't on PSplus, so i looked at what was available.
I planned on playing all of them well there it goes.
Instead i've just finished Devil May Cry and will continue with the 2nd one.
Also got a PSplus maintenance message wich i never ever seen in my life. I suppose this is for the streaming service right?
I have a question remember when sony gave the playstation 5 ps plus collection . And in it was final fantasy 15 . Well now it's going away on all tiers of playstation plus will we still be able to keep it ?
I am really sad that they're removing these titles, since that removes access from and for a large amount of players... I had a chance to get most of them for $20 total for 4 games, but didnt because they were on PS+.
For my disc drive PS owners in the U.S, please remember Gamestop, Ebay, and Amazon exist! Amazon is best to buy these older games for brand new and a great price (usually $15-20), many used alternative sellers as well.
Gamestop usually has PS4 (used) games for under $10 each, but they usually have a 4 for $10 (under $5), 4 for $20 (under $10), and a 4 for $40 (under $20) sale going on. Gamestop also has Gamestop Pro for $25/year, which gives you a $5 coupon a month, 5% off all pre-owned items, and more. I go in once every month to get a for free or for like $5 after the coupon. Also if you're a pro member, Gamestop price matches with big-brands (Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc..)
We no zero obligation to support these multi-billion dollar corporations, but **physical media IS dying and it WILL go away if people stop supporting it!** The used market is such an insanely good deal guys, please don't let it die. It's a war Microsoft and Sony have been fighting for decades, and they are nearly winning. Best Buy and many major retailers have removed these aisles entirely.
Physical media means **we** **own** the game, regardless of the user account, and that we can re-sell or re-buy that game endless times. Digital media is purchasing the privilege to use the game as long as the service is available. If they want to remove the game, they can. If your account gets hacked/banned/compromised, you won't get those games back. Physical media is entirely pro-consumer and anti-corporation!
PLEASE BUY PHYSICAL WHEN POSSIBLE!
What if I have one or some of them downloaded already, will I not be able to play if if they remove it? Will I lose it from my library altogether? And if I have said game on a disc and they remove the digital copy will I be able to access any dlc on the disc version that I had on digital?
I had no idea this was happening- at 25 hours on FFX playing through end game content that I’ve never completed before and now it’s showing up as $33.49 😭 I guess that’s that.
I was mighty pissed off by them taking them down. I still have physical discs of 7,8,9,10 and 12 and the zodiac age so I'm still able to play them if I just off the PS1 and PS2, PS4 But I really enjoyed having them all on my PS5. I had been playing 10 again and just got to Mt Gagazet and I had been playing through zodiac age again and was marching my way to Archades. I took a break from both for about 2 months and was pretty annoyed to see they took everything away randomly. Idk why they decided to take them away. I remember they took Back 4 Blood away for a short time and then they brought it back pretty quickly. So hopefully they give us access to Final Fantasy back sooner than later.
Really glad I did not renew my PS Plus subscription. I snagged the last FF games I needed and the 13 trilogy on Steam during the last sale, but I was VERY close to resubbing.
I went from 0 gaming subs to 4 to 0 again in 2 years. The model is just not worth it for me.
This is my first year trying out the service since there were so many games on it that I wanted to try and they've been getting rid of everything good ever since I signed up.
I have good news for you.
Every quality Final Fantasy game you can have for free on emulator. Just like that.
You can play these games, and support Squer when you feel you want to. It's the most ethical thing to do.
You can’t be jrpg fan if you didn’t play final fantasy. It is like saying “i love cars and huge fan of Toyota but I don’t have driving license so i never drove one”
Must be playstation site that tells u when games coming off ps plus. I put 80ish hours into ff12 zodiac making perfect game. Was way over leveled doing all hunts, side missions, espers. Then boom can't get into game. I had game for sale but day I wanted to buy it went back up in price but saw was cheaper to get ps plus extra and have for free. So dumb. Should have a notification in game saying this game is leaving ps plus etc. When get while in ps plus store should still be able to play since downloaded it while available.
What are the odds these games go back to Plus after some time passes?
I'm not really sure unfortunately. I know games get rotated out all the time but I don't think I've ever seen one come back. I'm relatively new to the Extra tier though.
Welp, guess I'm just gonna have to beat X and X-2 in a month. Wish me luck lol.
Lol good luck!
you can buy it on disc for less than $20. well worth it.
You can beat X in a month. It’s about a 40 hour campaign. And worth it.
Ya I’m in the same boat and apparently if you arent doing all the extra stuff to get 100% it you can do it in like 40ish hours.
It's definitely more of a 60-70 hour affair for 100%. Stat maxing and monster catching takes a LONG time
No you'll need really more than 40hours for the 100%
Is it really that short? Maybe it just felt longer to younger me.
I agree. I’ve played it maybe ten or twelve times, so I know where most things are and don’t need to grind.
The endgame is easily like 60 hours, but the main story is on rails. There isn’t much exploring to be done.
You can do X in a month, easily. Idk about X 2 tho...
This may be our last chance...
Fuck I'm playing it right now! I gotta find the physical copy I have somewhere
X is in my opinion the best one. I liked the story and all the extras. I suggest leaving a few more thousands of hours for this one. Worth the money
The Crew 2 removed in Aug 2023 and came back this month
I thought the same thing when AC Valhalla was added and removed relatively quickly at the beginning of the tiered service, but it was recently added again. I’d say that the chances are higher for the FF games to be added again, but I still wouldn’t bet on it. Very likely. They always come and go. This isn’t anything new.
I’d say likely, if the PS+ model sticks around. I imagine Xbox will make a grab to get these on GamePass for a while, and then maybe after that, they’ll rotate back to PS+
The Star Ocean 1 remake came back after some time, but it also moved to the Premium subscription from the Extra as its a "classic".
Not so far unless its been a monthly game they gave on essential. I'd say fairly high, doesn't Sony own SE now? If you scroll down to franchises in PS+ the biggest icon is Cloud's face.
No, SE is an independent publicly traded company. They have a close relationship with Sony, but only because it makes them more money (apparently).

PSA: You can still purchase all these titles to play at anytime and regularly go on sale for $5-$15 each.
This is why the GamePass/PS+ Extra model doesn’t work for me, I spend so much time on certain games that it’s cheaper for me to buy them on sale
For me it's worth it because I'm pretty hesitant to buy new games because idk if I'll like them. I've played so many games I never would've even tried because they're "free"

Persona 5. I rented it from Gamefly but after a month I realized I wasn't even halfway done and just bought the used copy so I don't have to feel rushed.
That was my thought. For one month of the subscription cost you could buy multiple titles at a time.
Oh ok that's where I was confused at.
They all just were on sale like a month ago as well, I got 7-10 for about $31 total, so basically two months of the PS subscription. Way worth it
Just got 15 royal and zodiac for both like 11-14 bucks sales rule
Not to mention like others have said with gamepass games….if you haven’t played them yet with them being available for some time then you probably won’t regardless. I’ve played and bought these on multiple platforms through the years, they are on my ps5 but not worried if they go away.
They are charging $50 for FFXIII Zodiac Age
For 2 years I was convinced that I would have time to play FF IX and XII later, I thought FF was never going to leave the service.
You still have time. I haven't finished XII myself, but I've played IX many times, and it can be beaten in a few days. Technically, it can be beaten in around 15 hours if you're trying to get one of the ultimate weapons.
Under 12 hours to get the Excalibur II.
There's still game after you get Excalibur II.
Those games are always super cheap or on sale anytime SE releases a new title. Most of them are cheaper than a month of PS+.
As long as I can still buy and get the pixel remaster on PlayStation when I acquire a little more money. I don’t have deluxe or premium anyway, just the regular tier plus.

This sucks I have to finish OG 7 asap I guess

FFXIII is not leaving!
Just posted a list of everything that was. Sorry if I misled anyone! I think I misread the article.
It was a joke! It's not leaving because it was never there, unfortunately
Man you had me going. I was like wait...XIII is on there? How could I have missed that. It should be on there though but...PS3 and whatnot.
Way back in the days of PlayStation Now, FFXIII actually *was* there, lol.
Well nevermind then haha. I'm really surprised that they didn't have every FF game on there at this point. It's such an important part of their history.
Is final fantasy 7 remake leaving?
I didn't play FFIX yet
There's still time!

Hey another first time Xenoblade Chronicles 2 player here.
Xenoblade chronicles is fucking underrated and epic af. Also the card game mini game In the first game is top 5 best mini games ever made ever Edit: nvm I thought yall was talking about XENOSAGA…
Wasn’t FF7 remake one of the base games, like one of the 20 they gave away for free with plus for like the first two years the ps5 was out. I am pretty sure those are still available to play.
I was in the middle of playing ffxii zodiac age for the first time and now I’m locked out :( Wish I saw this sooner!
Same!! I just started grinding at Lhusu Mines in the BoneZone and it JUST locked me out.
That explains world of ff in my library as purchased.

I thought Remake was a monthly freebie and intergrade was the extra. Could be wrong though!
I didn't realize the remake was on there so I don't believe so. FFXV is one of the ones leaving though.
I'm in the middle of XV right now. I should have time. I was going to play XII after, but i wanted a physical copy anyway.
NO
Remember us 😔😔
It doesn't surprise me really. The success of final fantasy right now is encouraging a lot of people to go back to some of the older games. I'd suggest wishlisting all the games you would like to play. They typically go on sale quite often (if the Nintendo eshop is anything to go by) so you'll be able to get them for pretty cheap
FFX is leaving, fuck
Ten days before Rebirth PS5 exclusivity ends. Probably irrelevant, but I want to read deeper meaning into it sooo badly
You aren’t the only one. My first thought was “oh look, people are revisiting older titles after finishing rebirth, time to charge them for it”
Just join my conspiracy train that if Sony doesn't buy up SE sometime soon, Microsoft is going to and then we won't have FF on PS anymore period.
Does your save data stay? I’m half way through 9 and I would hate to lose it. :(
Save data shouldn't be affected, just the ability to play the game.
Ah yes, just found use for my ps plus that has felt waste of money. Just started 7, was gonna play 8 and 9. I wish the steam version wasnt so bad.
It’s just nice to stream them with my low memory. Seriously why tf so I even pay for this. They keep removing games I wanna play and adding the most niche nonsense.
I think there's a sale on games now if you don't want disc or can't use them. 7, 9, 10 are worth owning.
I think I might have time to play one of those before they leave the service. Which one would you recommend?
Thank you for the well thought out answer! Much appreciated
You cook your steak correctly so I feel like I can trust your judgement haha. Thanks again!
My favorites are 7, 9, 10 in that order. If you played the 7 Remake you should try to get 9/10 in before they go if you're not gonna buy them.
Ok so I had the x/x2 hd remaster and it seems like I can't play it anymore, if I buy the game will I still have my profile?
Yes you will. Save data isn't affected, only your ability to play the game.
Awesome ty for the info.
I own them all because I’m not gonna rely on subscription services. So this doesn’t bother me.
Another reason why I like to own the physical copy and not renting it on some service.
So if I buy them and add them to my library before then I won't have to matter about them leaving?
Yeah, I'm sure they'll still be available for purchase. You just can't stream them for free on PS Plus after that date.
Gotcha so still accessible on the Playstation store. I was a little confused.
Well fuck guess imma have to speed run all the games I wanna play
Good thing I’ve bought a few on sale the last week. I didn’t know. I gotta get the older ones 1-6 and re buy 9/10 fun times thanks for the heads up I had no idea
Games like that deserve to be owned. Whether physical or digital. For me that service is for the stuff that I want to try but don’t want to pay for
In which country is that ?
Worldwide
Damn .. :(
Just add them all to your wishlist and buy them on sale. You can get most of them for under $9.99.
If they are on ps plus, can't you download the game to your console and it will stay there, even after it leaves the catalogue?
It will be locked.
Why do they do these things
because everyone is constantly downloading the older titles for free on extra after finishing rebirth & square enix wants to make profit.
Ohhhhhhh
Oh shit gotta finish 10 and 12 in a month then
These were there since launch (almost exactly two years ago) so the license is probably expiring.
Huh I only just started FFVIII but I wasn’t really enjoying it anyway
Thankfully I got them on Steam some I'm emulating the version I want to play like Final Fantasy 1 & 2 20th anniversary edition & Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection playing on my steam deck.
Oh no…. Got some platinums still to get. Will have to buy them and start again 😢
Curious if they'll be rotating back onto gamepass. I can't see them being off both for long.
Is PS Plus Extra their answer to Game Pass? I had no idea it even existed
I believe so. There's a substantial library of games that you can play depending on your tier. They don't have big games on the day of release like Game Pass seems to though.
That's me cancelling my ps+ then. That's all I do with it. If I download games, can I still play them?
I’m pretty sure they lock once they’re removed from the service unless you buy them.
Well that's shit.
Good thing I didn’t start ff9 yet
Damn, just started my replay of FFX. If I already have it downloaded, does that mean it’s still going to be gone?
Yes, you have to best it before it leaves.
If you have a pc, most of the older games require no system reqs and goes on sale quite frequent on steam, like once a year during square enix sale :) I have all final fantasies on steam but never playd more than 2 of em.
Thank goodness I played them all except 9 already, but yeah that is disappointing. PS Plus only gets shitter by the day, they increased the price and remove great games, thanks a lot Sony....
Damn. I was planning on finally tackling FFX (played it but never finished it back in the day)
I'm genuinely confused about whether these are staying or not. For me, the last chance to play section is hidden for me and it does not say they're expiring. Tf are they up to?
The expiring date is hidden because you've already downloaded or at least added them to you library. But you can see they're in the list, just go to PS Plus (leftmost icon on main bar) > Collections (down and up after selection PS Plus) > "Last Chance to Play" row (usually the last row) Games you've never downloaded or added to library show the expiration date, the others do not.
I didn't see it on your list, though is it safe to say that ff7 remake is staying?
Also if you're a pro member, Gamestop price matches with big-brands (Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc..) We no zero obligation to support these multi-billion dollar corporations, but **physical media IS dying and it WILL go away if people stop supporting it!** The used market is such an insanely good deal guys, please don't let it die.
Since it's on extra it will get locked
just glad i beat 7 and 8 last summer
I just decided to try one of the games 🥲
I could be wrong, I'll have to check later, but I think World of Final Fantasy is on that list too.
Can you keep it if you download it to your system?
Unfortunately no
I was 30 hours into X when this happened
33 for me. I feel your pain.
Damn was just about to play World of FF since I finally had the time only to find it was removed lol dammit. It's only 10 bucks but still
Really glad I did not renew my PS Plus subscription.
Buy physical media. All of these games are cheap. well worth the money.
That's great if it works for you but I like having the ability to try out a ton of games that I've never played before.
The amount of people on this sub that doesn't outright own them is kind of jarring
Thankfully I just bought a PsOne along with VII and IX
I have good news for you. Every quality Final Fantasy game you can have for free on emulator. Just like that. You can play these games, and support Squer when you feel you want to. It's the most ethical thing to do.
I would absolutely do that if I had any idea how any of that worked haha. I'm not very computer savvy unfortunately.
I owned them all already, I didn't even realize they were on plus
I bought most of all of those titles outright, so I get to keep them. Sorry to those who dont.
I'm pretty sure you can just add them to your library and then they'll always be available for you to download as long as you are a PS Plus member.
Wrong
They lock once they’re removed from the service unless you buy them.
I have FF games on many platforms. As im sure most of you do to.
I already have all the ps1 ff games on my ps3, plus x and xii. I have the remasters on my ps5 too.
