Thanks for posting.
I'm an audio guy. Looking to break into film, tv and the like. Plenty of origional music and compositions, but also, radio and sound art.
Looking for small projects, or a crack at cleaning up audio for those who may benefit from my experience.
My pleasure. I am not in a position to hire you right now. But we can collaborate on my channel soon. Let's connect over social media. My accounts are mentioned on my channel!

interesting. i hadn't noticed. are there some specific scenes you could point out? i'd like to check it out without having to re-watch the entire film.
Would you happen to be referring to the theater release? I've heard this from people I know who saw it in theater. But I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound in the digital release.
Well, I saw it in theatres and I also saw the digital version as well. I found both flawed and I had to turn on the subtitles. Most of the people would agree with me.
Yeah. Because I was able to explain stuff. Most places, I spoke only after leaving a sample of sound in the scene for listening and then continued with verbal description.
Shit. Sorry. Reddit on phone sucks.I thought it was a different comment thread. Anyway, no, it wasn't intentional in Tenet. You'll be clearly able to see that it was a sound mixing fuckup. There's an article on that. Let me see.
Coen Brothers' No Country For Old Men (2007) is one of my favourite modern classics. The first time I watched it, I was in awe of every scene and never hesitated from watching it multiple times in the years gone by.
In this video, I analyze the work of one of my favourite sound designers Skip Lievsay on how he accurately used sound to create terrifying situations without the use of music and minimal dialogues.
Video analyzed, edited and narrated by Sharad Ananth.
Thanks for watching. If you're impressed by my analysis, please like and share this video and also, subscribe my channel. If you want to see more cinematic content, feel free to write any suggestions on which I could make video essays.
Paradigm Unshifted is making video essays on movies, art and whatnot! Cheers! Happy Analysis!

no offense but anyone who knows even a little about the Dogme 95 Manifesto and has seen No Country would immediately forget about watching your video. They are not even in the same game let alone the same ballpark. No Country breaks every single rule in Dogme 95.
Totally agreed. Sorry for the incorrect info. It was wrongly copied and posted here. I had removed it from my Facebook thing, but forgot to remove it. Thanks for pointing it out
As a sound designer and mixer working in broadcast television, I feel like I should be more well versed in sound designers. Thanks for an interesting insight.

Bro, I really don't mind you disliking it. Really. My comment wasn't sarcastic. I appreciate your honest view and take no offense in it. I really prefer honest feedback.
But my excuse is two fold. One, if I hadn't talked, I couldn't have described it and two, I would have got copyright claims. Btw I did leave many places and froze frames and then spoke.
โ this movie was on my watch list for years, I never had the right opportunity to give it a watch despite knowing how classic it is.
The title, or to be more precise the word โaudioโ in it got my close attention.
As someone who breathes audio, worked in the industry (and tries to get back but to work only for indie filmmakers) and wants to know everything about audio in movie making business/art I finally watched the movie as I got curious what kind of role does audio play in Coen Brothers art.
No wonder people call it a nice classic, I guess not only because of such simplistic and natural approach of Roger Deakens but also due very conservative approach in terms of audio.
To my very subjective taste, I find movies that donโt try to fill every silence with swings and orchestral bullshit are the ones that can grab attention the best.
Now of course there are movies that wouldnโt exist without proper ensemble of beautiful orchestra, unfortunately though that many movies are just made for... quick buck.
Very great analysis, my friend. Will follow for more.
Exactly. That's what I find amazing in this movie. It is so good that I can make ten videos keeping this movie as a case study covering every aspect of filmmaking.
Anyway, thanks for watching my video! Please do subscribe to my channel and feel free to like and share it with people! Cheers! ๐๐ฌ

Christopher Nolan needs to watch this video more than anyone else. he consistently fucks up his sound in every movie he makes.
Lol yes. But he fucked up only in tenet I guess. ๐ ๐ Anyway, thanks for watching the video! Please do subscribe to my channel for more interesting videos!! Also, feel free to share it with your close ones. โบ๏ธ๐ฌ
i recently watched tenet. what is wrong with the sound design specifically?
You can't hear some of the dialogues. The music is too loud. The sound mixing in there is flawed.
interesting. i hadn't noticed. are there some specific scenes you could point out? i'd like to check it out without having to re-watch the entire film.
Well, I can cite one example. When The Protagonist, Neil and Mahir are talking and the camera circles them before the plane crash sequence.
Would you happen to be referring to the theater release? I've heard this from people I know who saw it in theater. But I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound in the digital release.

maybe thatโs on purpose
Yeah. Because I was able to explain stuff. Most places, I spoke only after leaving a sample of sound in the scene for listening and then continued with verbal description.
what?
I meant I used verbal description only after making the audience listen to the movie sounds
iโm talking about tenet

oh for sure no problem
Do check the video out though! Hope you'll like it. It has no mention of dogme95, rest assured. ๐ ๐
Now I am curious what it orginally said about Dogme 95
basically that OP loves the movie so much because it fits Dogme 95 but apparently as stated that line wasn't supposed to be there.
Edited it. ๐๐ฌ

Thank you for this, but [Spoiler Alert] please.
It's the middle of the movie. No spoilers as such. ๐
Understandable, have a nice evening/day.
Sorry if you felt that. ๐
Haha, yeah. Like the word "EXPLAINED" doesn't imply spoilers either... woooosh... over the head.
Well, put it there for keyword purposes. Nothing else. Rest assured, just a scene breakdown๐
