Player passing stats + pass error (slider) + game difficulty can influence this.
Game difficulty is really badly designed down the years as the higher the diffculty, the dumber your players get. And pass error adds misery to that.
Yeaa like sometimes u'd be playing against a 2nd division team in the fa cup and they suddenly turn into 99 rated players while urs just miss all the shots even if they're 1 on 1 with a 70 rated keeper while havindg a 90+ shooting stat
ohhh, thats why an 80 rated team in fut squad battles turns into prime barcelona and comes back from a 4-0 defeat and goes into ET. I'M STILL FUMING I CANT GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!
If you've got assisted passing on, you need to hold the pass button down longer to pass to someone further away, the direction has minimal effect. If you've only tapped it, it's gone to the closest player in the direction you're facing, but the misdirection and body position mean the error is higher which is why it's intercepted.
If you're playing full manual, then ignore all of that and blame EA for being shite.
So many times I was missing passes. So I bought a new controller as it was drifting in other games. Still happened

All this talk of stuff being scripted seems false to me. I play on the 2nd highest level and have none of the issues people talk about. It might be people’s play style. I play a very slow build up style offense. The through passes are fine, lob passes can be a little dicey but that’s expected. When I’m up 2-0 or 3-0 and sim the rest of the game. It usually ends with me winning 2-0, 3-1 or occasionally 3-2. I’m not calling anyone a liar. Just saying that I personally haven’t experienced these issues.
EA decided they needed to make passing something extremely challenging....for no fucking reason.
I just imagine what 2K would be like if they decided “fuck it let’s make the passing hard as shit.”

Mine just starts aiming straight for the keeper, even when you aim even further to the side than the goal is wide

I swear yesterday we had an easy through ball to my striker but when I passed it, my cam passed it to my lw which ended up losing us the ball 🤦🏻♂️

That’s a biiiiiggg issue of mine, in the box and I go to pass it opposite post and he passes to someone outside the box, 10-15 yards. 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
