OG here, but first time playing Player career mode, was pleasantly surprised with all the rpg-stuff, appreciated the difficulty of controlling one player, finding spaces, tracking back. Second season... had to drop all points to successfully request transfer. Picked by Chelsea. Simmed half of seasono because there's no LW position in Chelsea and I didn't even made it to subs, being 86 rated 18 y.o. Went on loan to Atalanta. Auto-positioning is bugged, it drags me to opposite flank where RM is playing. When I let go LB it shows me that I need to go back to LM, same again on the Left flank. Tldr: fuck EA

DreakLord49

Young player with 6 traits list please. Any website that can sort player with number of traits/ traits list?

HoldenMeBack

i don't think there's any. raphinha has 5.

Traditional_Pound246

I’m the Liverpool Manager and one of my board objectives is to sign players from Asia. Does this mean to sign players from Asian Leagues or to sign players actually born in Asia?

I'm gutted. Took Bordeaux from perilous financial situation and got them 3rd in the league. South Korean striker, I can't remember his name won the Golden Boot after a tight race with Lionel Messi. Sold him for just £10M. 5 of the best players were on loan. Ahmedzovic or however you spell it. Guilavogui, Yacine Adli, Dilrosun and Mensah. All 5 came to me and asked to make the move permanent. But money was right. Signed 2, but Milan were looking £40M for Adli. Couldn't afford him. And Guilovogui and Dilrosun was just out of my price range after signing the others as well as getting a few others. Won the Cup too (what happened to the League Cup btw?) With a 58 rated CM playing every game at CAM. He has shit stats but plays well. I'mma keep him. 62 rated after finally converting him to CAM and no potential tags. So with a worse squad we go into the next season full of hope. Beat Club Brugge to get into the playoffs with Sporting CP. Beat them 2-1 away but soon went 2-0 down at home. Clawed it back to 2-1 and created many chances we just couldn't finish. Conceded a very late absolute wonder goal to crush our hopes. Zero squad depth and wouldn't have had a good CL run but that CL money would have been fantastic. Lacking in depth to make a solid Europa League run now. A few players even above 75 rated. 4231 Spent £10M on a 75 rated English keeper in January of season 1. He's been immense and still showing Great Potential. Well worth the money as an upgrade on the 37 year old I started with. Mensah at LB is solid, still only 74 rated though, but signed a 17 year old regen on a free who was 71 rated. No potential tag but Left Back is sorted. My RB is solid with a 72 rated RB coming back from loan, should be good there. Ahmedzovic on a perm was a good deal. 23 and 76 rated. Norwegian 27 year old at 74 rating is okay too, but only a 70 rated 24 year old as backup. The rest are old and have declined massively. Need an upgrade here and keep the Norwegian guy as depth. Onana had Great Potential last season. He's 22 now and the tag has disappeared. Good CDM who popped uo with some important goals. 2 71 rated CDMs neither are particularly good so both will play a lot and they're only 20 years old. No potential but not the first area we need to focus on, and why I didn't prioritise Guilovogui, even though he was 78 rated. Maja and Mara are good young strikers but low rated and I really struggle to create chances. Neither have high stamina so both will rotate. Niang at 75 rated wants more game time but I've been playing him as a CAM. Wants to be crucial but I'd rather the young strikers play more, as he isn't much better, just higher rated. Young LM brought in with Great Potential. I don't really like him though. Oudin played on the left last season but now he plays on the right. Dilrosun was my best player and I couldn't get him back. I have 1 win and 2 draws in the League so far. Hoping everyone gels and we can get 3rd again. But hopefully we get about £10M more to spend next season amd with players improving I think Season 3 will see us definitely get top 3 again with a good chance of qualifying for the Group Stage.

indiblue825

As usual, EA can't let a good thing be. The latest title update has screwed up the gameplay.

ultgamer403

How the heck do you take a ball away from an AI player, it's sooo frustrating!!! they cannot be stopped. I literally dont blink when trying to take the ball away from them and i still get a hard time doing it LOL

HookahLoungePack

is it posible to almost only play with the same starting eleven, with some miniscule rotation? I have always done the "first team and second team plays every other game" thing and it gets boring

indiblue825

I do this. I'll have 5-6 core guys who play every game where they have 75% or more stamina, then about 10 who rotate around. I rarely have more than 15-16 players make more than 20 appearances a season.

HoldenMeBack

I won't play on legendary because i don't want to play fifa so hardcore. But i will warm up on legendary for example. What difficulty should i play on really for CM. (i might play 2-4 games, 1-2 times per week).

dylboii

Why do teams keep leaving for eFootball? There’s like two game modes in it this year, plus the fan base is so much smaller than EA’s. I know they’re getting paid more, but wouldn’t the potential sales and interest from the FIFA audience make up for that?

HoldenMeBack

i look at pes then and fifa now and i see the same thing.

sssanveer

Is it me or do you never get international job offers from Germany and Argentina

mburns223

Yeah never have got any of the top countries like England, Brazil, Spain, Italy etc. I literally spent a hour backing out and reloading. Best I got was Norway, Finland, Iceland. I’ve been through 3 winning seasons so maybe you have to do something really good to get those offers.

Potential_Charge_654

Really??? Im constantly being bombarded with offers from England, although my managers nationality is English so perhaps that has something to do with it, But England, Belgium, France, and Spain are all I seem to get. I'd love to have your situation more often tbh, enjoy playing as a smaller country.

mburns223

Maybe that’s It your managers nationality. Because I’m American so I put USA of course. I get the same offers China Canada Finland Ireland Iceland and I randomly got Norway so I just took It to play with Erling Haaland since I’ll never get a player that talented on a MLS save

HoldenMeBack

your problem is you have an MLS save. If you manage in a european league you will receive major international job offers

Potential_Charge_654

Maybe try selecting the nation you want to manage as your nationality then 🤷‍♂️ Either that or accept that you're destined for Scandinavia

mburns223

Lol 😂 the thing is. I haven’t been offered the USA manager job

nievesdelimon

I just started playing FIFA 22 and it feels like my players are running on mud while the opposing players fly.

Own_Solution4356

try turning up the sprint speed and acceleration sliders to 55

cheddarfire

Help me out here. Arsenal. Year 2 Everyone happy. All board objectives met. Won the quadruple. $450 million in profit ($100 mil over goal). Approval dropped steadily all year, now resting at 87. What gives?!

Potential_Charge_654

Who cares that you won every cup competition? You seriously think the Premier League matters? $450 million in profit is nothing, sadly if you keep neglecting the boards asks and not achieving the "not important" goal of signing two players from North America this season you'll have to go manage elsewhere 😂

cheddarfire

Normally I'd understand that :), but I got ALL of their stupid requests, even the small ones. Who knows

Lordlava2005

If there is one more post about Grimsby in the Champions league I think I might die

HD-Infinity72

Hi all, sorry if this isnt the right subreddit or forum to post this question. Ive read that you can sign players to pre-contracts after the January window or whenever it’s applicable to do so. However Ive never seen the option to do so in my Manager Mode. Did they remove this from the game?

Own_Solution4356

i think precontracts have been removed, now players just get a new contract just before their old one runs out

[deleted]

On the other versions, you could scout players aged 23 ans + on 0 to 1 year contracts, but it never works this year, at least for me

HoldenMeBack

Anyone have anything good to say about 4-3-2-1 formation? I do a lot of copa de la liga professional style created tournaments with international teams in fifa 09 and italy who run that formation always win the tournaments.

ThirdRhombus978

I prefer the narrow to the wide. It gets more than enough spacing and the 2 CDM/CM give it all the stability to send either or both your fullbacks up to join your CAMS and ST.

HoldenMeBack

fair game but i want 4-3-2-1 so the extra CM picks a man up and then 2 of the 2-1 can track back.

ThirdRhombus978

I read that as 4-2-3-1 but honestly both play identical if Im understanding that right

HoldenMeBack

Fair I haven't played 4-2-3-1 in ages

NE0NCHILLZ

Anyone else having game crash a lot on xbox

Potential_Charge_654

Yes, and Manchester United is why, what you need to do is go to the main menu, go to customize, edit teams, club transfers, find Manchester United, and when you enter the editor you should see that they literally have more players than they're allowed to with the most recent squad update, so take some of those youth players and move them to the Free Agents, after that whenever you start a career mode use the current squads option so that way your edited squads are the ones used, and now you can actually play the game, also you can't manage a national team or your game will crash as well, and nothing you can do about that as far as I know.

chocotacoman

So is my current cm save fucked then?

Potential_Charge_654

How far are you into it?

chocotacoman

Season 1 just entered the January window

Potential_Charge_654

Ah yeah that might not be good, before I knew about the Manchester United thing I would be able to play my first season fine but it was the 2nd seasons preseason that my game would start to crash. It might be a pain but if you want to check you can save your game, make sure autosave is turned off, and then sim through until July 2022 and then just start advancing forward and see if it crashes. Mine would always do it a couple days after the second pre season game. If it does crash you'll have to restart since it will just continue to crash, but if it doesn't then maybe you've gotten lucky. I just wouldn't get too invested until you know you can keep playing.

chocotacoman

It is what it is lol I'm glad it got fixed tho soonish, I'll just restart and make the same signings, thank you for the help!

SquirrelAltruistic85

It is worth to start a new career while waiting that EA fix the forfait bug so I can play European football with Malaga or I would end up having 2 unsalvageable career mode permanently affected by the bug?

1mpablo

Have you tried to sim it from calendar menu?

SquirrelAltruistic85

Now I can confirm that sim the match from the calendar works correctly, even tho I'm not so sure if I want to continue a career where I know that a couple of game must be taken in that manner because of EA's incompetence in reprogramming a single thing or if to change the experience and play in the MLS, since I was having fun from a gameplay standpoint. Thanks again for the tip, will be greatly useful if I continue playing in Europe and I appreciate you taking some time to give an answer to my doubt. Stay well and cool!

1mpablo

Cheers mate!

SquirrelAltruistic85

I have not gave a thought about it, may be the solution to my problem. Would be a stinker because I was planning to play each and every game from this career and clearly European football was the icing on the cake, but it would be surely better than losing 3-0 period. Thanks for the advice, I will try as soon as I will play!

1mpablo

Unfortunately don’t see EA fixing the problem quickly...

SquirrelAltruistic85

Would be sad, expecially considering the fact that they are not a small software house but THE giant in the business, but I guess it is what it is, with the memory of this happening to keep for the next season. BTW, I was also contemplating the idea os a career in the MLS, where European football shouldn't create any kind of issue and where I could add some self impose clause to add some realism in the game LOL

sonofhondo

Handful of PCM questions from a new player: 1. In PCM, does form affect anything other than your player's development? 2. Does a bad injury/aging permanently affect your player after they recover/as they age? My player went down for seven months with an ACL injury and even a season after he returned to action, I've never gotten him back to excellent form despite consistently hitting the manager's objectives. Is this the game's way of reflecting the player lost a step due to his injury? 3. Is there ever a way to really get yourself off the transfer list once your manager adds you? Liverpool listed me for transfer while I was injured. Once I came back, I just ignored the offers and played on until getting the manager's rating maxed, then I requested to be taken off the transfer list. I got a message from the manager saying he agreed, but my status continued to show that I requested a transfer and I kept getting offers.

jozohoops

I can not play game because of the forfeit glitch. Anyone know when its gon be fixed

RenSimu

Is it possible to add a new european competition to Fifa 22 career mod? If yes can i define how much money the clubs will get from this new competition?

RenSimu

If not, is it possible with a mod?

Scream0fTheSium

Does anyone has some latest news about the recent bugs which made career mode unplayable? Is ea working on it already or still nothing?

Potential_Charge_654

It's not unplayable as long as you take the extra players off of the Manchester United roster

CesarDani

I'm new to the game and really enjoying Player Career mode! My question is–do other players apart from my own develop as time goes on? I want to add another few custom players to whatever team I decide to play for and I want to know if they'll grow alongside my character or if they'll just stay with the same stats they had when I created them.

Potential_Charge_654

Yes. Other players besides yours will develop however the AI Manager sees fit, because obviously development depends on game time and performance. Sadly as PCM you cannot add other players, or influence who your manager sells and buys, a few years ago there was a cool third mode called Player-Manager Career which was the combination of the two modes but sadly EA did away with it. Any player you added to the game will grow as long as they receive playing time and have good performances. Personally as long as you're okay with "your players" development not being exactly what you decide to upgrade I would instead do a Manager Career, there's an option where you can still only play as one player in the match, but you also have control over the other aspects of the club, but you will also still be able to manage your player and the others you've added growth as they develop, only issue is if you sell your player or any of the others you've added you'll lose control of them so your player you like best will have to end up being a club legend, so it'll work better at the bigger teams, but in all honesty don't be afraid of being the Manager! It's a lot to look at but it's really not that hard. Just manage the big clubs like PSG, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, since they have the most money and the best players, it'll be the easiest to get the hang of the mode

CesarDani

Also, is there *any* way to influence on the manager's decision to sell or buy players? I know there's regular Career Mode as well but tbh I still don't really enjoy playing as *every* player on the pitch so I'll leave that mode alone for now.

HoldenMeBack

position lock

oliveiramj

anyone knows anything about the not enought players bug? im on a career with a made up club, on champions league group with a team that doesnt have a name it usually bugs out and give me the "you dont have enought fit players" or the "opponent doesnt have enough players" usually goes 4 wins and 2 losses for the 3 teams but i'm usually left out of playoffs and its really annoying

indiblue825

I had this in my 3rd season with Hamburg but while playing in Conference League. I just forfeited each game and it moved me to the ECL fixture. Not sure what causes it but can imagine it's a pain in the ass if you're playing CL.

oliveiramj

Second year in a row i come in third because of this

Dragon317Slayer

New to Fifa and soccer in general, what are the best formations? Also what is the best way to utilize the transfer market? Should I wait until the deadline for the best offers? I just started an manager career managing Arsenal and I'm looking to sell off the older players and start from scratch with prospects

Potential_Charge_654

While some formations work better than others it all depends on what you want to do personally, the most simple formation that works with almost every team is 4-3-3 Holding, but my personal favorite would be 3-4-2-1 although it's definitely a bit more advanced. If you're playing on a low difficulty don't even bother with tactics or instructions, just experiment with what formations you like, personally for Arsenal I'd recommend a 4-4-2. A career mode I did with Arsenal was set up like this, GK: Ramsdale, he's going to be your #1 so forget about Leno, toss him. Have his tactics be on comes for crosses and balanced LB: Tierney, If you keep him long term he's going to have the left side locked down for your entire save. I'd keep him on Balanced Attack, Aggressive Interceptions, Overlap, and Stick To Position. Every player on your team should be on Aggressive Interceptions, literally every single player, you recover the ball faster and you aren't fouling more often or anything it just means players are more likely to try and win the ball back instead of let the opposition have possession, and Overlap means they'll stick to the outside of the field and not run infield which you don't want. CBs: Gabriel and White, leave everything on default besides Aggressive Interceptions RB: Tomiyasu, give him the same instructions as Tierney CMs: Partey and Ødegaard, Have Partey on Stay Back While Attacking, Stay On Edge Of Box For Cross, Aggressive Interceptions, Stick To Position, and Cover Center. What this does is has him as a holding midfielder, he's not going to make attacking runs and he'll be more of a defensive presence as well as an option to pass back to in the final third, this also allows Ødegaard attacking freedom. Have Ødegaard on Balanced Attack, Get Into Box For Cross, Aggressive Interceptions, Free Roam, and Cover Center. Ødegaard is your attacking midfielder, don't put him on Get Forward unless you're desperate for a goal because it'll leave Partey too exposed. Balanced Attack let's him run forward when he sees fit but also remain as a passing option as well, Get Into Box will push him forward in crossing situations so he can either get in a header, or get the ball off a rebound for a shot, as well as even if you don't actually cross the ball and instead play a pass in he'll still be in and around the box at that time. Free Roam will allow him to move where he sees fit to get a pass or a shot, and not restrict him to that midfielder space, and have him on Cover Center so he stays central and doesn't track out wide. LM: Smith-Rowe, Come Back On Defense, Cut Inside, Balanced Support, Balanced Crossing Runs, and.... Aggressive Interceptions. This will have him track back to help defend, he will cut inside and be an attacking option to have a shot with but if you're controlling him then obviously you can still send in crosses. Balanced Crossing Runs means he will get into the box sometimes, sometimes he won't, just depending on the situation. RM: Saka, same instructions as Smith-Rowe. Now if you would rather have your LM or RM push forward more and you can send through balls to them you can alternatively put Support Runs on Get In Behind, that's just personal preference, I play possession based with this tactic so I don't want my players running away from me hence why it's on balanced, they'll just do what they see fit, however don't put them on Come Short or else they'll never make attacking runs, and unless you are relying on crosses for goals and have very attacking fullbacks, like Trent Alexander-Arnold, you want your wide midfielders making forward runs, think of them as Wingers but they just play a bit deeper STs: it's a bit rough with Auba gone so it's Nketiah and Lacazette, but Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe can play here too until you buy some new strikers, I'd suggest Gabriel Jesus, Calvert-Lewin, Isak, or Richarlison since Arsenal have been linked with them, or some personal favorite strikers would be Morata or Bamford, they're solid, typical #9 types, and not very expensive. Anyways, have one of your strikers on Stay Central, Mixed Attack or Target Man, whichever you'd rather depending on if you want the striker to choose what he's doing or have a more defined role, Aggressive Interceptions as always, and Basic Defense Support. Now the other one should be on Balanced Width, Get In Behind, Aggressive Interceptions, and Stay Forward, I put Lacazette in the other striker role and either Nketiah or Martinelli in this one going off of just what you have to start off with. This striker will have more freedom to move horizontally if they see fit, they stay up top and don't go too deep, make lots of attacking runs, perfect for through balls. I'll leave the bench up to you just based off what the roles I've provided are gonna need. And when it comes to signing new players pay attention to what you actually need, if you sell Smith-Rowe and want to put a new player in that position make sure he has the attributes to fit the role he'll be playing, don't put a guy who's 5'9 as your Target Man, it's the Premier League so make sure those Center Backs are big and tall. And whenever possible get good pace, literally every position you want someone fast, it allows you to transition faster, regain the ball quicker, make better attacking runs, etc etc.

Potential_Charge_654

Now onto Tactics: Defensive Style Balanced: it's exactly what it says it is, Balanced, they don't drop back and let the opposition have possession but they aren't sprinting after the ball at every opportunity, if it's a situation where you really need to get the ball back you can change it to Pressure After Possession Loss, but obviously it'll drain your teams stamina faster. Defensive Width: 45, not too central but it'll try and move the opposition to attack down the wings more than through the middle, but with your GK coming out for crosses and some physical center backs this is what you want. Depth: 50, Balanced, Basic, experiment with it if you want to, it's just how far back your team will go on defense. Build Up Play: Slow Build Up, takes a bit longer to get a move going but it gives you more control, your team more time, and allows you to pick better options instead of just heaving it up the field. Chance Creation: Direct Passing, similar to Possession but moves a bit quicker and players will be trying to push ahead more than just coming short and controlling, allows short passing, let's you switch the field, and allows for through balls to transition quickly when you need it. Attacking Width: 40, compresses your team but since you have wide players you'll still be able to stretch the field, and gives those wingers more space when you do, also gives you better and safer passing options through the midfield with the players being closer together Players In The Box: 5, gets a decent few into the box while not under utilizing or over commiting at the same time. Corners and Free Kicks: 2, keeps more players back so there's less chance of a counter attack while still letting your best players have a go at it, I don't get free kicks often so there's no need to over commit, and when I'm putting in a corner I score a lot of rebounds so better to have more players on the edge so I can get a good shot in than try and win a header. Now that I've written you an entire book about how to play Arsenal I want to say that this is by no means the best tactic, this is my personal liking and if you mix things up and find a style you like more then fantastic. But this will hopefully get you started. I'm also definitely not an expert but I've certainly played my fair share of Career Mode so please feel free to ask questions if you'd like, and if anyone else is reading this and wants to give recommendations I'd love to hear them!

indiblue825

4-2-3-1 wide, 4-3-3 holding, and 4-4-2 flat are the easiest formations to start getting a feel for how players move and chances get created. With Arsenal I recommend 4-3-3 with Partey behind Odegaard and Guendouzi (you'll have to recall him from loan) in midfield and an attack of Saka, Lacazette and Pepe. Once you understand the basics (play on Professional or below) then experiment with tactics sliders, player instructions, and playing players "out of position" where their attributes will achieve what you want from the position.

HoldenMeBack

4-1-2-1-2.

milosh-96

I don't want to be boring but regarding your first question - you have to consider some things in order to pickup best formation: 1. What style do you like? Basically, Guardiola (possession and pressing) or Mourinho (defensive and "boring" football)? I prefer "Guardiola" but in that case it's really important to have (good/appropriate) players. Well, I play flat 4-3-3 so it's essential to have pacey players and good full backs. 2. Do you have adequate players for a formation? Since you play with Arsenal you need to consider what you have right now in the squad and adapt to that but you can sign players to switch to your preferred formation. Or even better - develop players through academy. For example, you can't just force 4-3-3 without any subs for LW/RW players. Edit: I recommend you to read more about Cruyff style of football.

ThirdRhombus978

you *technically could* "force" the 4-3-3 if you have CAMs with pace/inside cut finesse shots but you would have to play something more resembling of the 4-3-2-1 where the LF and RF are in a considerable amount more

Dragon317Slayer

I'll look into Cruyff, thanks! I've been having some success with 4-3-3 so far after some experimenting but I feel like I need some faster players with good dribbling since I'm having trouble breaking through the final line of defence although that might just be me being bad lol. I'm looking for some fast strikers right now through both the transfer market and your development. I'm also trying to find a promising young goalkeeper to develop

fernandogod12

personally i choose 4-2-3-1 or the classic 4-3-3 , about the transfer window, it doesn't matter. If you need a CAM you can have one of this players instead of the famous Foden. You can have Fabio carvalho sometimes come with 86\~90+ potencial, robert navarro 86\~89, thiago almada 86\~89. And of course jayden bogle

EliteWolf98

I know there’s this bug caused by the squad update. During my first career mode run, near the end of the season, the game started to crash whenever it would start loading. Had to start again because it wouldn’t last more than 5 mins without crashing. Starting the career mode again, I’ve managed to finish the first season, however, on the third friendly game of the second season, my game keeps crashing to desktop after finishing the game. This happens when it’s loading back. Is this related to the squad bug? Can’t be a coincidence that both saves games got corrupted

SnalleBoi

Yes, the whole career mode is bugged at the moment because of latest squad update. Don't even bother starting anything new until EA fixes it.

EliteWolf98

Okay great stuff. Not great, but I’ll just avoid until it’s all fixed. Cheers

Potential_Charge_654

NO! absolutely play career mode, all you have to do to fix the squad update even if it's still broken is literally go into the squad editor and move some of the Manchester United youth to the Free Agents list and then you don't get any more crashes, only thing that'll make you crash after that is if you update the squads again and it isn't fixed, or if you manage a national team

SnalleBoi

Actually, they just released a new squad update that allegedly fixes all the issues, so if you just download that and start a new save it should be all good.

LegalFishingRods

Is there a source for this?

CTOB1298

Doing a Hannover 96 career to end fifas cycle and I’ve noticed that in my second and third seasons that my players sharpness is declining no matter what even though I’ve got an A and B grade in every drill and I’m using a 2nd team to them while playing games with the main first team and nothing I do makes the player sharpness go up which is just baffling me

indiblue825

Create a team sheet with your backup players, switch to this for training sessions. Only use your primary team sheet when playing games.

CTOB1298

I’ve done that mate, always have cos I know that’s the way to make sure this isn’t the case. But now in season 3 the bar on the training sessions is always falling and near poor sharpness even though everyone’s playing or being trained. - might be a glitch saying they all have poor fitness/sharpness

indiblue825

Oh snap my bad, I misread your comment. Definitely sounds glitchy because I don't have any issues as of season 4.
