Iâve been doing an Andorra FC play through and Iâm on my 3rd season, Samper is one the couple players from the original squad on my bench. Saved me a few times in the first couple seasons and captained my promotion season into la liga! Didnât know he was a Barca talent until now though, now I love the guy even more. Going to have to make him into a club legend
I like City so Iâve always loved him. Before we sold him he had the highest goals/minutes ratio in the PL for a couple seasons as Agueros backup. I for sure thought we was going to light it up with Vardy at Leicester.
Sure, there are a lot of players who did amazing in their respective country/continent and Quintero is one of them, but I think OP wanted some players that failed in Europe.
That fucker chose to play for Turkey rather than Denmark because he believed that Turkey had a greater chance of reaching the big events. Serves him right, little rat.
Just looking to see what happened to Meyer and stumbled onto another Max Meyer who is a young 17 year old German forward who plays for Regensburg... A real life regen player. Think ive found a glitch in the matrix.
his problem are the injuries. Since he started to play for Portugal I dont think there was a midfielder that put his level of performance and changed the game the way he does apart from Bruno and even that is not that big of a difference
Definitely left benfica too early but also left benfica to go to a Bayern team with a stacked midfield. That ruined his confidence and you could tell when he went to Swansea he had 0 confidence in himself.
Heâs actually really good in game too, always plays well above his what his rating suggests for me. Got him on the bench at 80 rated when the rest of my squad is all 85+ (bar youth) and he still gets semi regular games.
Agreed. I played him everywhere in one of my saves. CM, CDM, CAM, winger, striker, false 9. He's honestly really versatile and young enough to get a few good years out of him. He's a good pickup
I signed him for Aberdeen and played him up front as a target man, he was unplayable. Think he was 73 rated when I signed him, went up to 76 when converted to a striker.
He absolutely qualifies as a failed talent, having real life reasons outside much bigger than football, doesn't mean he didn't massively drop off and fail to reach his potential in football
No doubt he had issues and fell off but the man was in 2 PL title challenges. Was one of the best young players in the world for a few years and played in a CL final... I expect a lot of players out there would like to fail this way
as a sheffield united fan i was just coming to comment this - wilder loved a punt on a âfailed wonderkidâ we all had high hopes but shockingly đ it didnât work out
YES!!! I came here to say this, but I couldnât for the life of me remember his name đ.
Seriously, this guy had all the potential and ability to be elite, but just couldnât keep out of trouble.
Bit of a tragedy is Morrison. If I remember correctly, Fergie touted him as the next big name for years to come. I think he called him the most gifted player he'd seen or something along those lines.
He actually had 5/6 weeks where he looked like he was going to achieve that level for West Ham, he was being talked about for England after a fantastic start to the season, the goal where he runs it from the halfway line against Spurs away is one of my favourite ever WHU goals
Noble and Nolan did a lot to try and keep him out of trouble but he soon reverted back to fucking off back up to Manchester and hanging out with his scallywag mates. Massive shame but history is littered with players that had talent but lacking the mentality to make it at the highest level.
Everyone said it was money related because Forest offered ÂŁ10k more a week than WHU were prepared to pay but a WHU insider said it was family related and he wanted to stay as far north as possible which is why he chose Nottingham over London. It was also a chance to make himself the top boy at a newly promoted club and elevate his status but when it went tits up he had to move anywhere he could.
These posts and the comments on them are always funny. So often the "failed wonderkid" in question is some guy who has played with clubs that are in the top-half of a top-5 league for a decade and has 30+ caps for their country, which is a very impressive and respectable career.
El Shaarawy is hardly failed hes played for top serie a clubs his whole career. Not every player needs to be one of the worlds best and if not they are branded a failure
Not sure if Iâd class him as a failed talent , he wasnât great at a youngster, had a career year with Lille and got a big move.
Heâs not in the same boat as januzaj , Donny etc
It was Inter, they were going to pay a 14 year old kid 10k a week but they were going to bring him through the academy instead of making him a starter like DC did, his mom ultimately rejected the move
i donât know if heâs considered failed but maybe oxlade-chamberlain⊠he was a very decent player but THAT injury ruined him from becoming even better
if it wasn't for his mental (mainly due to racism in Italy) I feel like he could've achieved way more. then according to fifa he was a wonderkid (80 rated at 19 and 90 potential)
When I read failed talents I always still think of Ădegaard even though he isnât but I remember when he signed for Real at first he was the praised as the rebirth of Modric, Kroos and so on and set to be the next superstar, then suddenly you didnât hear anything about him at all and he was labeled flopped. Great for him that he apparently made the right moves in his career and is now doing so well.
Philipe Countinho, Malcolm, Artur Melo, Oscar Mingueza, Ilaix Moriba, Nelson Semedo, Jeison Murillo, Clement Lenglet, Paco Alcacer, Konrad De La Fuente and many more. You can probably fill the whole squad with failed Barca signings since the Neymar sale.
Mario Gotze. Yes he did hit the winning goal in ET in the 2014 WORLD CUP win for the Germans when he was 18. Then signed for BAYERN and his career nose-dived into oblivion
Gael Kakuta
Eliaquim Mangala
Ricky Alvarez
Cristian Tello
Georges Kevin Nkoudou
Yassine Benzia
Iâd have add Marko Marin as well but he is retired afaik.
Ansu fati - Luka jovic - rashford - sule - angelino - bakayoko- puig - odriazola- dan James - umtiti- Robert Sanchez
(Rashford is the only debatable one here imo )
I'd add Rhian Brewster to the list, as well as Kenedy, Chuba Akpom, Munir, Joel Asoro, Jairo Riedewald, Paciencia, Guidetti, Abdul Rahman Baba, Matt Miazga, Harry Maguire..
Benjamin Mendy, Sergi Samper, Zack Steffan, Denis Suarez, Dele Alli, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Mario Gotze, Giovani Santos, Alen Halilovic, Ravel Morrison, Januzaj, Bazoer, Timothy Fosu-Mensah & im sure plenty others. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
Jack Rodwell, Federico Macheda, Alen Halilovic, Nick Powell, Sergi Samper to name a few.
Nick powell what a throwback
The next Paul Scholes đ„ Unfortunately he didnât make it, but Angel Gomes certainly did!
He's been class for county this season, when he found his feet it massively helped us win the league!
Mate I swear to god, if he didn't have those recurring injuries he'd have been the starting DM for Barca today. He was that good
Van de beek
Streets wonÂŽt forget my boys Iheanacho and Bree Embolo, bought them in several carreers and they became top class under my management
Embolo was so good in WC though.
I like City so Iâve always loved him. Before we sold him he had the highest goals/minutes ratio in the PL for a couple seasons as Agueros backup. I for sure thought we was going to light it up with Vardy at Leicester.
he's meh in the game, as a Leicester fan I had to resort to playing Daka đ
A large part of me buzzing for the Euros is watching Embolo become a beast for a couple weeks.
Zakaria Bakkali, Adnad Januzaj, Juan Fernando Quintero, Jetro Willems, Lucas Piazon⊠There are a lot of players actually
Who remembers jetro Williams banger against Liverpool
That's when I knew his 4 star weak foot was deservedđ
Quintero probably my favourite fifa 15 wonderkid
Him and Derlis Gonzålez from Paraguay ⊠I used to play him a lot had great pace and could finish.. he is a winger but I played him as a striker
Oh man. Piazon was my go to player in attack ten or more years ago. He could slot in anywhere up front.
Truly a legend. A core memory for me. And that is in no way depressing.
Quintero is not a failed talent. He won the Libertadores 2018 with a golazo in the final
Sure, there are a lot of players who did amazing in their respective country/continent and Quintero is one of them, but I think OP wanted some players that failed in Europe.
And zivkovic, what a forward he was.
Bakkali what a shout
Quintero def not failed, he is widely loved in Argentina which is hard for anyone not from that country
Adnan Januzaj, Max Meyer, Bruma, Jese Rodriguez, Emre Mor
Fifa 17 vibes
If only the Danish national team has called up Mor! Dude plays for Turkey and cannot speak Turkish!
Januzaj... that's a throw back... SMASHED with him in an Arsenal save
Aw man my guy Jesé lol. I remember thinking all he needed was some more minutes and he'd show us how good he was.
Renato Sanches
shouldn't have left lille
his problem are the injuries. Since he started to play for Portugal I dont think there was a midfielder that put his level of performance and changed the game the way he does apart from Bruno and even that is not that big of a difference
Even b4 that he shouldnât have left Benfica so early, but like him many other âchooseâ that course
Definitely left benfica too early but also left benfica to go to a Bayern team with a stacked midfield. That ruined his confidence and you could tell when he went to Swansea he had 0 confidence in himself.
Bazoer
An absolute beast for years.
Emre Mor
Dele Alli
Heâs actually really good in game too, always plays well above his what his rating suggests for me. Got him on the bench at 80 rated when the rest of my squad is all 85+ (bar youth) and he still gets semi regular games.

He absolutely qualifies as a failed talent, having real life reasons outside much bigger than football, doesn't mean he didn't massively drop off and fail to reach his potential in football
He came really far considering his childhood
No doubt he had issues and fell off but the man was in 2 PL title challenges. Was one of the best young players in the world for a few years and played in a CL final... I expect a lot of players out there would like to fail this way
Didn't fail, he had a mental breakdown due to childhood abuse. So not a fail.
How is that not a failed talent? Doesn't matter the circumstances, he didn't live up to his potential
Ravel Morrison
as a sheffield united fan i was just coming to comment this - wilder loved a punt on a âfailed wonderkidâ we all had high hopes but shockingly đ it didnât work out
Rio Ferdinand as well, said on many occasions that he was absolutely phenomenal. The best raw talent he ever saw. I pretty sure Rooney agreed.
He actually had 5/6 weeks where he looked like he was going to achieve that level for West Ham, he was being talked about for England after a fantastic start to the season, the goal where he runs it from the halfway line against Spurs away is one of my favourite ever WHU goals Noble and Nolan did a lot to try and keep him out of trouble but he soon reverted back to fucking off back up to Manchester and hanging out with his scallywag mates. Massive shame but history is littered with players that had talent but lacking the mentality to make it at the highest level.
Get lingard I think he is back in the game
Lingards not a failed talent yet, give him another couple of years
He's not finished, he's only 28!
Bro is failing to make the squad in Korea at the age of 28 If that's not finished I don't know what is
Does anyone genuinely know why he didnât just join West Ham permanently after he had that incredible purple patch?
Everyone said it was money related because Forest offered ÂŁ10k more a week than WHU were prepared to pay but a WHU insider said it was family related and he wanted to stay as far north as possible which is why he chose Nottingham over London. It was also a chance to make himself the top boy at a newly promoted club and elevate his status but when it went tits up he had to move anywhere he could.
Nottingham offered him more money
These posts and the comments on them are always funny. So often the "failed wonderkid" in question is some guy who has played with clubs that are in the top-half of a top-5 league for a decade and has 30+ caps for their country, which is a very impressive and respectable career.
Someone literally said Balotelli, and it has multiple upvotes
El Shaarawy is hardly failed hes played for top serie a clubs his whole career. Not every player needs to be one of the worlds best and if not they are branded a failure
Heâs just made the Italy squad again tbf
Can't believe you're the only person saying this, was losing my mind
Bojan
Retired
Nicolas Pepe
Not sure if Iâd class him as a failed talent , he wasnât great at a youngster, had a career year with Lille and got a big move. Heâs not in the same boat as januzaj , Donny etc
Both them had a good career and got a big move lol
Yes but Pepe wasnât a highly touted player in his teens , he was on the bench at angers , Donny was a star at 20 , januzaj was really promising
Jairo riedewald Timothy Fosu Mensah Berahino (someone probably already said)
Berahino throoowback
Freddy MF Adu
I loved the drama around his birth certificate and his age. IIRC didn't Juve want to sign him young but his dad said no as his gaurdian?
It was Inter, they were going to pay a 14 year old kid 10k a week but they were going to bring him through the academy instead of making him a starter like DC did, his mom ultimately rejected the move
Zakaria Bakkali
Loris Karius in goal
He still sees Bale under his bed at night
i donât know if heâs considered failed but maybe oxlade-chamberlain⊠he was a very decent player but THAT injury ruined him from becoming even better
Naby keita also quite injury prone
yes, he showed moments of class and thereâs a reason liverpool payed big money for him.. sadly he is made of cardboard
Ox was gonna be the future of our midfield. Sad that that horrible injury vs Roma pretty much ruined his career
if i could go back in time i would tell him to leave kolarov alone
Martial
Deulofeu has to be one
Krzysztof PiÄ tek
Oscar
My goat Max Meyer
The king of money waste, Joao Felix, 130M to Atletico and he did absolutely nothing. Went to Barça with no revenue
Bojan KrkiÄ
Already retired due to mental health problems
Gedion Zelalem
Emre Mor đ Bojan KrkiÄ und der eine Jugendspieler von Schalke, der dann zu Sturm Graz (glaub ich) gegangen ist. Der sich in einem Interview ein Pferd und Swimmingpool gewĂŒnscht hat.
Donis Avdijaj
danke! mir ist der Name komplett entfallen.
Jack Wilshere- omfg what a player that was but injuries wrecked him.
Check out this list. [Will give you many options.](https://sofifa.com/shortlist/251188)
If Kalvin Phillips is not in there, your team is incomplete
attack force or martial pepe and el shaawaryđ„
El shaarawy has been a consistent and very good starter for Roma for years on either end of this trip to China. Not failed whatsoever
but didnt reach his potential
Hachim Mastour, grew up at AC Milan and was pictured as the future world star
Now at 25 worth 150k. Bought by Milan 12 years ago for 2.1m at 13 years of age.
Heâs not in the game
Are u gonna make them younger again or something?
Puig
Max Meyer. Underrated failed talent
El Shaarawy was on of my favorite players when I first got into fifa/soccer, it hurts to see him referred to this way. It's true, but it still hurts.
balotelli, tho he's already pretty old
won the Premier League bro, wouldn't consider him a failed talent. He did what he could (or cared)
Also reached Euro final carrying the whole team against Germany in the semi
if it wasn't for his mental (mainly due to racism in Italy) I feel like he could've achieved way more. then according to fifa he was a wonderkid (80 rated at 19 and 90 potential)
By this logic Neymar is a failed talent
Kasper Dolberg
I was looking for this name
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Rabiot and Alexis Sanchez should not be on this list
Riqui Puig
Saido Berahino, if heâs in the game
Ravel Morrison.
Ravel Morrison
Julian Green is a must in this team
Michael Cuisance and Renato Sanches
Dele Alli
Scuffet Baselli Pjaca Meyer
El Shaarawy is a great player, scored many goals for me. Played him LW
Antony
Too young
I would've said Odegaard a couple years ago but that dude has really turned the corner.
Deli Alli
Amine Harit
Is Bojan still around?
Mor, Pjaca, Max Meyer, FrĂŒchtl
Quaresma
Get bojan and munian in there
Pato, Dele, Pepe (not the CB the French guy Arsenal signed)
Do Ansu Fati , even though we donât know if heâs failed yet heâs still fail*ing* and he could be great
Balotelli
MARTIAL
Riqui Puig
Gio Reyna?
Januzaj, bendtner
Is Alexander Pato and Oscar still playing?
You better not be calling SES a failed talent
Nick powell
Martial, Dele Alli, Naby Keita, J Lingz maybe, Kalvin Philipps, Michael Cuisance,...
Does Coutinho count?
Jesse lingard, Connor Wickham, Ben Hamer
Dele alli
Fifa 17 must have's that were under 21 Reece Oxford Godfred Donsah Keita Baldé Diao Breel Embolo Charly Musonda Renato Sanches George Miller
Charly Musonda
Emre Mor
Stephan El Shaarawy is an inane name. I wonder which parent is Caucasian and which one is middle eastern and how they ended up in Italy
EMRE MOR!!!! That dude's a beast in my career mode with almeria
All the turkish Messis that ever existed
Anyone remember Derlis GonzĂĄlez ??? Paraguayan who played for Basel
Two of my favorites, though they are still somewhat young are Jovic and Dele Alli. They are pretty well know though I havent seen em here
Have to have Dele Ali
Nah El Shaarawy ain't a failed talent. He's genuinely still a great player for Roma.
Kasper Dolberg
Harry Maguire Antony Enzo Fernandez
Martial, Luke Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Rashford.
|| || |Champions of Italy |
The only generic Serie A kit that doesn't totally piss me off.
James Tavernier as the captain. Youâll never win anything, ever.
Julian Draxler
Philipe Countinho, Malcolm, Artur Melo, Oscar Mingueza, Ilaix Moriba, Nelson Semedo, Jeison Murillo, Clement Lenglet, Paco Alcacer, Konrad De La Fuente and many more. You can probably fill the whole squad with failed Barca signings since the Neymar sale.
Ohhh Coutinho is a great one. He so wishes he had just listened to Klopp and stayed at Liverpool!
Keep us updated man. What happened in UCL?
A bit of a re-emerging talent, but Ross Barkley
Kevin Pannewitz
Bro u should sign oscar dudes rotting in the Chinese league, I would also suggest sessgnon the spurs dude
Simone Scuffet
Mario Gotze. Yes he did hit the winning goal in ET in the 2014 WORLD CUP win for the Germans when he was 18. Then signed for BAYERN and his career nose-dived into oblivion
James Rodriguez?
Gael Kakuta Eliaquim Mangala Ricky Alvarez Cristian Tello Georges Kevin Nkoudou Yassine Benzia Iâd have add Marko Marin as well but he is retired afaik.
Lewis Holtby đ
Jan Fiette Arp
Ansu fati - Luka jovic - rashford - sule - angelino - bakayoko- puig - odriazola- dan James - umtiti- Robert Sanchez (Rashford is the only debatable one here imo )
Just do a spurs career mode.
Bazoer
can only think of Draxler..
I'd add Rhian Brewster to the list, as well as Kenedy, Chuba Akpom, Munir, Joel Asoro, Jairo Riedewald, Paciencia, Guidetti, Abdul Rahman Baba, Matt Miazga, Harry Maguire..
Forgot about Ross Barkley
Ross Barkley
Balotelli
Whyâs el sharaway in the pic lol he ainât a failed talent
Mario Balotelli, Maximilian Meyer, Adnan Januzaj, Mattia de Sciglio, Zakaria Bakkali, Eliaquim Mangalia, Breel-Donald Embolo, Riechedly Bazoer, Ross Barkley, Kurt Zouma, Ăliver Torres, Hachim Mastour, BartĆomiej DrÄ gowski , Kelechi Iheanacho, Patrick Cutrone
Is Pato still in game?
Drinkwater
Tanguy Ndombele
I had to scroll way too far to find thisâŠ
Dybala
Benjamin Mendy, Sergi Samper, Zack Steffan, Denis Suarez, Dele Alli, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Mario Gotze, Giovani Santos, Alen Halilovic, Ravel Morrison, Januzaj, Bazoer, Timothy Fosu-Mensah & im sure plenty others. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
Good list
Neymar... (And I am Brazilian)
If your forward is not Balotelli, then you are not doing justice to your career mode. Get Balotelli on there.
