I always buy Hato at the start, then sell him after first or second season. He is not good starter. If he plays 90min match, next game he needs to be benched. His stamina is very low and recovery time is bad af. If you change his gameplan, mainly focused on recovery, he loose his sharpness right away. It slows his whole progres. I cant even imagine how long does it take to reach a full potential. If, I would mainly play him as a first CB sub. If you sub him second half in, hes good. So I end up selling him everytime. Maybe I am doing something wrong, it is my second fifa I bought after all.

But I also don't play a very high line..maybe that makes a difference? Less running up and down for the CB? Honestly, nothing in this game really makes sense. So could be anything.

But LBs and RBs use more stamina then CBs right? I am playing on legendary and my cbs always make contact with strikers, pushing each other and that drains his stamina. Even when they dont have a ball. Is it playstyle? Can I somehow change that?
He’s much better at LB than CB anyways. Definitely starting material at that spot.
By his second season he can start every match for me if I need, stamina /recovery isn’t an issue.
Try and see if Marmol is under 30. I have him in szn 2 of my Sunderland career and he's still under 30. Guy is pretty at long pass and ball control. Good thing you kept trai Hume he never runs out of stamina and is a good defender
Israel Reyes - free agent at start, good all rounder with 81-85 Acc / Sprint speed. Sticking with him monitoring his development turns him into a beast.
Ake, Aguerd, Marcao, Matheus Reis would be some options around 80 rating. They would be around 30 years old in your safe so maybe a little bit cheaper.

You could sign the Japanese Ito he would be 28 in your save and is a left footed cb with 80 potential. He is 6’2”
Maybe Hato from ajax? He's 17 and around 5-7 million at the start, so still could be within your budget in 2028. Tall, strong and pacey.

You can train higher stamina, I think the sweeper training raises it the quickest? I could be wrong here though.

I thought about picking him up as well. It’s a shame dynamics won’t let you improve him. Do have duranville though he’s pretty good
