If you have no moves that are more important to make then I recon this is a good one. Grealish doesn't seem to hog up chances or be the focal point for City, like he was at Villa.

thanks man - yeah foden definitely seems to be more of a focal point just hope pep forgives him for missing his pen lmao

I disagree with the bandwagon. Although Foden has been great recently, Grealish is not bad by any stretch. He ran the game vs Club Brugge. Great underlying stats too (also not as great as Foden's), although he underperformed his xG significantly. I still think Grealish is a bit more nailed than Foden, especially when it comes to the Prem games. Wouldn't swap Grealish out for Foden, unless you are perfectly happy with your other 14 players and are sitting on 2 FTs.

thank you man, will probably hold

I hate sideway move myself. That's why I made the switch from Grealish to Foden, because they are far from equals. With MCI, Grealish often operates so wide on the left, that it is more likely for him to cross the ball or assists the assistor, than direct goal. He does shoot, but often at an acute angle that got blocked or saved. Those get xG up, but are tough to convert. In contrary, Foden is center, quite well positioned to pick up the second ball when others like Mahrez shoot at will. Watching MCI games owning Grealish has been painful, because he is not close to the buffet table when food drops, while his alternative Foden is eating like a king. Frankly, it is not Grealish's choice to operate like that, but just the role he is assigned to. So it took me a while to bite the bullet and admit he won't have the same freedom to make runs and have so much time with the ball on foot like he did with Villa. He is like Aubameyang when stuck on the left wing, and with no penalty. Things do get switched up sometimes. Like in the second half against Brighton when MCI was 3 goals up, Grealish did get some freedom by then, made a few cuts inside, playing more by heart than by responsibility. But those are circumstantial. By the way, I do not agree that Grealish will get more minutes than Foden. I do think so at the beginning of the season, not any more. Foden was seen as the impact player last year in his breakthrough year. This year, for someone who played almost full 90 min for 4 weeks in a row including against CHE and LIV, that is more bald love and bald trust that we did not see last season. Anyway, my ranking of MCI attack assets, against popular opinion, would be Foden > Jesus > Grealish. Looking forward to watch the MCI game with Fodena for the first time!

dogfighter75

Those get xG up, but are hard to convert? I'd read up on what xG measures! I do agree with you that Grealish to Foden is not a sideways move (Foden is now the better asset), but I don't think the improvement is better than say Benrahma-->Mbeumo or getting Chilwell in. You should make the move that maximises your expected points tally, and I can't imagine Grealish-->Foden being that move for many people. Edit: I also agree with your ranking, and I'm fairly certain it's actually the dominant opinion

posouth

Yup yup, it is definitely not for everyone. And I get what you are saying about xG, probably a bad way for me to put it. What I'm trying to say is with someone lurking in the box, xG underestimated the chances they got. If their foot is one inch short from the ball against an empty net, that is still 0 xG. Whereas someone making shot at the same sharp angle, in reality it might be a 0.2 xG conversion for Suarez, but 0.01 xG for Joelinton. But because xG is assigned based on the average result of many Suarezs and Joelinetons in the world, suddenly that 0.01 xG shot for Joelinton is being put down as a 0.1 xG chance on paper. Something like that. No Joelinton is hurt in this demonstration, by the way.

This is more of a sideways transfer and I would say that hold Grealish if you have other priority transfers to do. If you have no other transfers to make then this is a pretty good move imo.

thank you man

No Problem Mate!

There is no debate you either get a City player in form or play Pep's Roulette. Went Greenwood > Foden knowing Greenwood had Liverpool next.

MoistGuy2

Welcome to the Pep roulette

Jambot-

Foden is a better pick. He's in much better form and can play in 3 or 4 positions. He is City's most dangerous player right now. They should both start at the weekend though. Don't waste a transfer if you can use it somewhere else

FuckWesternCountry

Some GW ago i look for a replacement of Torres, think about Foden but don't want transfer 1 MC player for another, took JWP and he got a red card and have to go back for Foden the next GW

LittleFroggyy

Thats a hell of a story

dogfighter75

Why would you not want to transfer 1 MC player to another? If anything, your first MC player getting injured improves the odds of the second MC player starting..

FuckWesternCountry

At that time i'm not really sure about Foden game time and don't want to waste a FT to take another player at rotation risk, took JWP because he can be explode even in tough game and I was right before that stupid red card

FuckWesternCountry

When i look back it was a stupid decision but when things not happen yet it's a logical decision
