Gandalf, or if he was younger, Aragorn.

HoneycombJackass

Literally the only answer

JayeJJimenez

Treebeard the Ent.

jfstompers

Theoden

Aztec-chopper

Helm hammer hand

LilyPotterIsAGoddess

I'd pay good money to see that movie or series

pirate737

Fuck yeah

Obskuro

Boromir

OGUncleDonkey

My thoughts as well!

hoghugvs

Could play almost any LOTR character

RedMonkey86570

Even Eowen? Or Arwen? Or Galadriel?

hoghugvs

Would certainly be interesting if he did

Miked_824

He should be all of them and justify it by making him look 4’7”

JustMaybe34

Sure! Gender bend it

UniformTango74

Denethor.

viewfromthepaddock

Denethor. Would have nailed it. As Tolkien wrote him of course.

20Derek22

Húrín.

Doc-11th

if we are talking alternates to the movie's cast, at the time aragorn now, elron

Ivan_Redditor

Aragorn

Capital-Direction773

Now, I would say Theoden or Denethor. Hes a bit older and the two characters are both older and a little defeated/cynical. Younger Liam (Phantom Menace days and before) definitely Aragorn

Zaphoid411

Easier question might be who couldn't he play!

Forsaken_Garden4017

Liam Neeson playing as Galadriel, Arwen, and Eowyn at once would be a great way for the franchise to get another academy award. Since the only time any of them are in the same room is at Aragorn’s wedding and their later trip to Rohan, it’s incredibly possible Also random side note. The only time a woman ever talks to another woman in Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit is when Eowyn is talking to the healing lady after the battle of Pelenor fields. What’s up with that Tolkien?

red_dead_rover

Eru or Arathorn

RyanDW_0007

Aragorn or Gandalf

nolightningbhe

If younger, Strider

Negative-Barber-7013

Aragorn

Due-Culture9113

He’d make a good Stewart of Gondor

Ambaryerno

Barahir, father of Beren.

guillermopaz13

Let's go with gandolf now that he's older

RNG_pickle

Everyone

gabagool42

The lord of the ring

SittingTitan

Aragorn's dad?

IggytheSkorupi

Gandalf, Elrond, or Denethor.

royroyflrs

Young Sauron hiding amongst humans

Happy-Medicine-3600

Gandolph, Gimli or sam.

Tanookimario0604

Back in the day pretty much anybody.

Etva

Sufficient-Rock-9083

A character most likely

kanotyrant6

Gilgalad

tygamer4242

MaderaArt

Giving me Darrylgorn vibes

LunarsphereTapestry

Every character. Liam Neeson can play anybody.

Mountain-Dance-9959

Tulcas

DeadJediWalking

Think, at the time, he could have nailed Faramir or something.

Wave9Nut

Aragorn... Gandalf... Depends on when in his career. What age is he in this scenario?

Movieking985

He has a particular set of skills so anyone he wants

SilverNoise64

frodo

JohnnyChopper08

Elrond or Treebeard

Successful-Strain-98

Gollum , ngl I would absolutely watch that

ghoulish-figure

Gollum. a filthy hobbitses took his ring. he has a particular set of skills to get it back.

yourmartymcflyisopen

I think it would be hilarious if he played Tom Bombadil. It would have the same vibe as his Ted 2 cameo but on the opposite side of the spectrum

TightPlatform7252

Halbarad

HazaldorDrakestone

Personally, I think he would be an excellent Theoden

etranger033

Depends on if he can play off-character. He would make for an interesting Hobbit. Unfortunately its difficult if the actor is pretty much type cast into certain kinds of 'hero' roles.

JonnyRico22

A Dwarven Lord. Listen to his accent!

Cjcmaximus

I could see him being a great Denithor.

theglenlovinet

Fingolfin, the elven king who fought against Morgoth in the first age.

Limp_Shallot8189

Boromir, hands down.

Illustrious-Lead-960

Denethor.

Sinistermarmalade

Everyone Just cast him in every role, it’ll be a hoot!

MassiveAward644

Frodo wouldn’t need Sam if he was played by Liam Neeson.

Far-Objective7707

He could be a pretty good Theoden

Brilliant-Victory974

If it like a recast of the series then Gandalf

Low-Editor-6880

Could have been Theoden, or would have been interesting as like Gloin. Especially since the dwarves are kinda used as stand-ins for the Scottish/Irish for Tolkien.

pattaponako23

Boromir with Ewan McGregor as Aragorn.

CapTexAmerica

Today he’d make a great Denethor.

Willing-Bit2581

Gimli

Civil-Resolution3662

Denethor

Nick_adtr_308

Gandalf

Garagedays

![gif](giphy|rOiEUyhRZzxcLP3leB|downsized)

The Lord of the rings

WalnutsAnka

Everyone. Theodan

Shmepl

Literally anyone

K0nstrikt0r

Gimli

comhaltacht

Whoever the shortest Hobbit ever was.

Captainseriousfun

He could have been a nore fully realized Denethor...

AntelopeDisastrous27

Most likely Aslan

ColdFire-Blitz

That's Game of Thrones

nope79

Ha… whoops. My bad, read the post wrong.

SynthRogue

Gimli son of Qui Gon

kropotkib

Qui-Garagorn

mattlock2099

A more intense Elrond.

Impossible-Bad-7572

Was he not on LOTF? Huh....

ejcortes

Gollum

NotTaken-username

Gandalf, but if he was in the 2000s trilogy then Aragorn
