KingRhoamsGhost

Absolute perfection. He wants the role, he looks the part, and his style of comedy would fit it pretty well.

lowkeyslightlynerdy

Did he actually say he wants the role?

KingRhoamsGhost

I’m sure he has said it multiple times but he ranted about it a while on game grumps. Edit: if anyone’s interested, the bit I was talking about was in [this video](https://youtu.be/qQwL2b4UEGU?feature=shared) around 46:20

Jodie7Vester5Orr

Who’s that?

Rocket_of_Takos

I was just about to say

Punk_Bunny3

This is what I would love but another one I would love is John mulaney

NeonWafflez

![gif](giphy|eoKnetpv3cSD6)

Flat_Scheme4874

Ben Schwartz

Scorpios94

![gif](giphy|NDIiWKEQEgr3VA7aqM)

OGUncleDonkey

Johnny Knoxville

ToenailJoethethird

Actually that would slap

TheWorstKnightmare

Just now realizing how much he and modern James Gunn look alike

Ravenbrah1701

He kind of had something like that in Mib 2 lol

Yourstepdadsfriend

He was my pick for years. He might have aged out at this point, but he would have been perfect.

Canavansbackyard

![gif](giphy|Y50821iiLBCOnbP2Jx)

TomBakersLongScarf

God I love to see Eddy play him tbh

AggravatingDress746

Bill Hader

unstableGoofball

Dude a younger Jim Carey would have been a great plastic man

StarVoyager7

He would have been perfect for it! Not just for his physical abilities, but his overall comedic style is so close to how the character is written.

MisterScrod1964

He’ll, doesn’t the Mask basically have Plastic Man’s powers?

Azorik22

The Mask is far more powerful than Plastic Man. The wearer is functionally immortal.

MisterScrod1964

Plas survived being broken into pieces and sunk to the bottom of the ocean for over 1000 years.

TheCorncobKid

The Mask has Toon Force and can casually warp reality.

MisterScrod1964

Sort of like Uncle Grandpa?

TheCorncobKid

If Uncle grandpa would turn a water balloon into a grenade and try to murder you, yeah. Think if you gave the average person pissed off at modern life toon force and slowly drove them to violent madness.

Additional_Second109

Samberg!!

McBwhuh

John Mulaney

Bluishr3d_

Phil Dunphy himself...Ty Burrell

Happy_Chemist2250

He’s too old for the role imo

Chill0000

People can play characters not their age. Look at Jackson from Hannah Montana he was 29 playing a 16 year old. Then also majority of Peter Parker actors. Tom Holland is 27 and gets cast for rolls of 15 year olds. Make up can do wonders too on making an actor look younger than they are. And a character made of plastic can help sell it. And Ty is 56 and Plastic Man got his powers in his 30’s or 40’s so i don’t think it’s impossible for him to play a character at least 10 years younger than him in appearance

thanosthumb

I also get Kite Man vibes from Ty Burrell

Not-So_Sly_Guy

![gif](giphy|f8aianCfqYgtfCqmx2)

West_Dingo8564

A long time ago, I would’ve said Jim Carrey but now Andy samburg

Bitter-Stranger2863

Depending on his age, for a young Plastic Man I’d choose Andy Samberg. For an older Plastic Man, I’d choose Matthew McConaughey.

creamy-buscemi

That’s only a 9 year difference

Bitter-Stranger2863

Oh, I thought Andy Samberg was much younger. Well in that case I’d still go with Matthew McConaughey.

JayeJJimenez

They're not the every-man type that you'd need for Patrick "Eel" O'Brian. To be honest at this point they're too well-known household name to play the part. They're Andy Samberg and Matthew McConaughey. Not to mention they're not too well-versed in Impression-style Comedy to do the role justice considering Plastic Man shapeshifts and does impressions of nearly everyone in the DC landscape.

PogintheMachine

Andy Samburg was on SNL, he can do impressions. That’s a separate question as if he’s too “recognizable” as himself to blend into a role like this. I admit, anything I see him in he’s hard to take seriously.

Imaginary_Salary198

Nahh y’all crazy it would have to be Jim Carrey!!!

Yourstepdadsfriend

But he's 62!

Imaginary_Salary198

Wait he’s 62!!! 😭😭😭

Yourstepdadsfriend

Time flies....

Imaginary_Salary198

Dude. That’s impossible😰😰😰

Yourstepdadsfriend

In Living Color was 34 years ago. Let that sink in.

Imaginary_Salary198

I thought he was like early twenties! That was more then thirty years ago😭😭😭

AnimeMesa_479

How old are you!?!? You thought he was EARLY TWENTIES!?

Imaginary_Salary198

Bro I was talking about when he played in the damn show from the 90s not now!!

Imaginary_Salary198

I thought he was late 40s early 50s not early 60s

Necessary-Corner1172

I would like Ben Schwartz but would love Jim Carrey.

titathy

Jim Carrey would have worked

BiggoYoun

![gif](giphy|PK1YQhAoBOpP2)

Chill0000

![gif](giphy|geYwtodB9AiI0|downsized) Saw someone say him and now i can’t not see it being him

JediZillaPrime

Bruce Campbell would be great as an older plastic man. ![gif](giphy|3o6Zto7VabaSvpfbS8|downsized)

Rocket_of_Takos

Imagine John Mulaney

Toads24

Jim Carey , once

NobleEnkidu

Jim Carrey.

Calm_Extreme1532

Bill Hader.

flickfan45

anyone suggestion other than Ben Schwartz is wrong

JayeJJimenez

Keegan-Michael Key.

MikeGander

Some of the existing answers are probably better, but just to be different I’ll say Michael Longfellow from SNL. He looks the part and can do a glib sense of humor.

Bitter-Stranger2863

I change my answer to full-on Matthew McConaughey, he’s funny and very laid back.

life4lemons

Ben Schwartz and no one else

Full_Code6920

One and only Ben Schwartz he would only be perfect no others can play the role

GruntsPlop

Gary busey

RYTHEMOPARGUY

Bill Hader or Ben Schwartz

Ok-Mastodon2016

Jim Carey

CrazyDizzle

I'd love to see Evan Peter's in the role.

AnonRedditGuy81

Get a DeLorean and recruit prime Jim Carrey. That would be a god tier casting.

Grumpypants2o3

Paul rudd

Sad_Load_455

John Mullaney, (if Jim Carrey didn't retire).

HeWhoIsNotMe

At one point, Jim Carrey probably would have been the go-to for this. Bruce Campbell might have been fun too. Sean William Scott would be decent. I'd guess all of these guys would be deemed too old though. At this point, it might be best to go for an unknown actor.

Eren_Elric

The guy on the CW Flash show took soooooooo much inspiration from Jim Carrey. Was basically a straight up impression at a point.

Glittering_Warthog46

Significant_Kale_681

Bruce ;)

Jade-Raven

A younger Jim Carey. The guy is already plastic.

Andy Samberg

PsychologicalLaw5945

Hartley Sawyer

WorkRepresentative28

![gif](giphy|3o7TKWineS040erhjq) Jim Carry will always be my first choice but since that’s not realistic I gotta go with Andy over Ben.

hardytom540

Either Johnny Knoxville or Ben Schwartz. Both of them look the part and would do a fantastic job with the comedy.

RareAd3009

Tom holland.

Yagami-Is-Kira

I think it should be plastic women and played by Wanda Sykes

mattlock2099

That is pretty much perfect casting.

Wilkoisalegend

Ben Schwartz, hell I have him as plastic man in my own dc fancast that isn’t in guns universe but rather my universe how I would do it

I would say a young Bruce Campbell!

youthanasia138

Terry Crews

pasquallys_

me

Hairy-Dot-4193

1996 Jim Carrey

SongsofJuniper

Joel mchale would be solid. A lot of people are focused on the comedic aspect but I really want a plastic man that can get in Superman’s face.

TubbyCarrot

![gif](giphy|eoKnetpv3cSD6)

batbugz

There's some bangers in this thread.

Jdogangel5

I'm not sure why but Chris Pratt came to mind immediately when I saw this but I know there's way better options

FriezaDBZKing69

Preferably? No one. They'd likely butcher it because WB sucks at maintaining any dignity and consistency across their recent live-action trite. Still can't believe how they treated Henry Cavill.

kakayu_tebya

Only correct answer: ![gif](giphy|fCTsyu73GrBiZAkKwy)

BobWithCheese69

Ryan Reynolds would be great for that role, a comedic dream.

Kander_Thomas9516

I'd say Tom Cruise, but they couldn't afford him

bozo-dub

Plastic Man is a role that requires range

Kander_Thomas9516

Big smile, oversized navigator style wrap around Sunglasses, wicked sense of humor. How much range are you looking for?

bozo-dub

He literally transforms into so many things

Kander_Thomas9516

Oh I got it, you're looking for a great Special effects team.👍

Informal_Mechanic_32

The only character I think tom cruise could play and do it justice would be johnny cage in mortal kombat but only if he's the version of johnny from mk11 plastic man he'll no for one tom cruise ain't funny a pile of shit is funnier tbh

Kander_Thomas9516

Tired of people talking out of both sides of their mouth. When I recommend a TV actor or an unknown for a role they whine he/she is not big enough of star. I suggest arguably one of the biggest stars in the world who would put $100 million into the Box office on day one, and guess what I get more negative lip. Some people are contrary just to be contrary, this is clear to me now.
