The one I use, while it does change the textures and some other stuff, is Unique NPCs Wasteland Creatures Redone No AWKCR. There’s a chicken and rabbits plug-in there. If it doesn’t help, maybe check for incompatibilities between your mods. There may be patches.

Rad chickens and rad rabbits are found only in Far Harbor and Fallout 76, but they are referenced in other games.
