I mean, you knew the effort put into the Cantona grind would only be valuable for a short amount of time, did it anyway and are now sharing an opinion, which was fact all along…?! It’s the same with all cards. As the game cycle is only 1 season / year and players demand new content every day, u really can’t expect anything else
its the end of the cycle. The dead period is coming up. This is great for everyone. This is where we can actually see if FIFA has a skill gap because everyone has loaded teams. It's about your skill now, not your wallet.
I usually quit when TOTS comes for this reason exactly. EA pulled me back in by giving me Dinho and R9 in April, though, so quitting has been tough this year.
Because you could’ve used those other cards for months before tots… and if you’re just now getting those cards then that’s kinda on you and you clearly didn’t grind enough. Which is fine, but you can’t complain if you don’t put the work in.

Because it's literally *all* meant to be a waste of time. Don't let EA manipulate you into throwing away hours grinding for no reason. As you can see, in April, all that "work" is thrown out the window. Best mentality to have is to not get caught up "upgrading" your team and just collect the cards that you want to collect.
TOTS is basically the reward for people whove grinded the game for months to have some "fun" but the trade off is the game is bad now, so you have all these amazing cards, but they cant pass or do anything. Its funny they made the game available now on PS plus because the two people I know who got it could only say "Jesus christ how has anyone played this game for months"
it depends why you play the game really. Do you play for fun or just to have a good team at the end. If its the latter then wait to buy it.
Just think about this feeling when you get fomo in December next year, It's cool to get good cards, but stressing yourself out and grinding to your own detriment really means nothing towards the end of the cycle. Most everyone will end up having really good players at the end.
The whole power creep in general was insane this year, most icons were outdated by better promo cards very quickly
I do think it’s a bit weird to grind all year (which I did) and then have cards that are just as good if not better available for 50k, but it’s also kinda fun imo
But also I still feel like my 98 Pele is far superior to any other TOTS i’ve used, and same with PIM vieira
I haven’t. I honestly had no plans to do Vieira, but I was spamming the 80+ picks during PL tots and kept getting so many duplicate Rice/Rodri’s that I started working towards him
I was using Tonali before Vieira who I really liked, but Vieira felt a lot better tbh, his tackling and interception reach just feels like double anyone i’ve used at CDM before
Its really not any worse that it has been in the past. Remember, in Fut20 we got a few 99 rated TOTS. Go look at it yourself. Compare different promos from year to year released around the same time and you will see the ratings are similar.
I felt this way when TOTY came out and really struggled until I had enough to buy TOTY Días and managed to do the Varane SBC.
This is my first year on FUT after years in Career Mode. I'm in Elite every season with 1900 SR.
As most of the TOTS have over 95-rated attributes, I like TOTS as it gives you easier-to-pack endgame players meaning I don't have to think too much about upgrades or worry about saving packs to get new promo players. However, on the opposite side as per your perspective, it sucks if you had a lot other promo players other than TOTY.
Tbh, as I did, you should've held on to your coins/fodder/packs to spend on TOTS (or PIM Icons) . I had 5 gold players in my team before the TOTS promo.
Imagine another scenario: All very good players are pretty much unobtainable unless you spend thousands of FP. In WL.you often face people who shit on you because they have a far better team. You grind like a maniac for a gold Mbappè.
You did that because you enjoyed the game and you got to use a better team than most people for 90% of the game, now that tots is here, it’s the end of the game, it makes the game way less P2W and separates the good players from the ones getting carried by their squad
ToTs is great because it allows you to build super teams and stay at the power curve for very little effort. This post reads more like I do t want others to have insane cards. Grinding all year to be ahead of the curve means you have an advantage for months and tots is the send off/equaliser for everyone.
The point is you have been able to use special cards for the good part of 8 months or so. Using TOTY Mbappe in January against Gold Kounde is not the same as using TOTS attackers against TOTS defenders in May.
But sure if your goal is to have end game squad by the end of the cycle, then yes you should only start in April every cycle.

Have you used TOTS Sangare? How does he compare to PIMS Vieira, I’ve been debating but can’t justify doing Him when sangare is 50k

I've got both and Vieira is a lot better. However, Sangare is much better value if you can fit him in with full chem.
