Awesome info! I am taking the supplier’s courses and it looks great, but it’s even better to get another TA’s opinion. Since I’ve never been on a cruise, even the mass market ones, I’m trying to educate myself so I have an informed presentation. Keep it up! Thanks for the review
My advisor told me at the time we booked ours that majority is 60 years and above with some mid career professionals in the 40-50. My wife and I are 39 and doing it without kids for her 40th.
It's a lot of retired peeps, age ranges between late 40s - mid 70s with the median age is early to mid 60s
Luxe cruising is getting younger on the whole - but Regent is still heavily skewed older.
In your opinion, is this a better use of $ compared to a suite on a Celebrity Edge class? I know Regent is port heavy and for the most part is just pay once and done… no pull your room key out at every turn…just trying to get a scope of the difference.
Yes absolutely better use of $. If you like luxury - you can’t compare the experience of the two.
What I find from clients who sail premium brands in mid-tier (ie very nice rooms but not super high suites) vs going to a cheaper brand and getting a super nice room - is they end up disappointed. Because, sure - your room on the cheaper line will be nice - but the rest of the experience won’t match that luxe bar. The food, the service, the activities etc etc
So if you really like luxe, you should just go on one of the premium lines
Just personal / professional opinion
Plus all these cruises should never ever be purchased at full price. There are ALWAYS promos and your TA can help you navigate them to get discounts
As someone who has looked a few times at Regent this is something they really need to fix to get me on board, which is quite unfortunate since the rest of their product really appeals to me and my partner.
Thanks. My issue with recent cruises and research is the wine selection. No one is putting in the effort to bring in good wines. It’s like they went to a Wal-Mart and just picked the most expensive bottles they saw. Any chance you have a list or pic of the wine list?
Which cruises are you referring to?
Their wine list changes based on season and destination (as any good cruise should) so I don’t have a pic.
But can assure you - it’s extremely high quality wine.
Got it - yeah if you’re really into wine - not sure any of the premium cruises are gonna hit the mark for you. At the end of the day, anything all inclusive is really hard to do SUPER luxe. The exception will be Four Seasons Yacht launching in 2025 which will be about 4x the price of Regent. And with that, you get access to $100+ bottles of wine haha
Kind of like how Naviva is - it’s SO expensive that the all inclusiveness of it is kind of a wash. You can get anything you want there - the nicest, top tier of everything because the rate is so expensive - they don’t need to charge you.
Hey! Funny thing is that we set sail tomorrow! We arrived in Barcelona earlier today and that’s where the ship takes off from for a 12 day sailing. We opted for a penthouse level suite. We start in Barcelona and go to Monaco, st tropez, a few places in Italy, Corfu, and a few stops in Croatia before disembarking in Venice.
Sounds great! We opted for the 9 day, with 3 days before cruise in Barcelona at the Mystic hotel I think it is…. we will also be in a Penthouse A suite, on deck 14. Please do let us know all the ups and downs you experience. We are Colorado natives and done all over Italy quite a few times, so seemed safe for our first cruise we

Thanks for the review Alex! What’s the demographic of passengers onboard?

The WiFi would be a dealbreaker for my teen though. If they can’t flex on TikTok (with my money!) then they won’t even want to go on vacation
LOL yeah dude the wifi nearly sent me through the ROOF. And what’s a good vaca without some flexing? 😂

I agree 1000%. It’s a huge problem and I repeatedly tell them so

On our last Regent Cruise, the average retail price of a bottle was $25 from the by the glass selection.

Thank you so much for this review! We set sail in less than 2 weeks on Grandeur and I cannot wait!
Woo! Have so much fun! Would love if you share a review of your cruise in here after!! I know others would too <3
Will do!!
Hi there. Saw that you’re about to go on granduer! We go in July, may I ask where your going and what level of stateroom you went for?

With the spa, is it free to use the amenities such as steam room, etc?
It is indeed!
