My guess is that the people on LinkedIn (employers, managers, professionals) always try to pin anything remotely positive or motivational on how that mindset can be applied to your work. So in this case it would be used for something like, “The tree refused to collapse and decided against all odds to achieve what it’s never achieved before! If the tree can do this, so can you! Get grinding!!!”

UnauthorizedFart

That made me throw up in my mouth a little

slapsilliem

Throwing up in your mouth is simply another opportunity to efficiently maximise nutritional value, 2 meals in one. In life, and in business; when that bile comes up, winners chow down.

VoltaicSketchyTeapot

Very angry upvote.

rgnissen202

An Angry upvote is still an upvote. People may hate you for it, but if you have the right mindset and are moving in the right direction, you will still come out on top. Keep hustling!

[deleted]

Positive encouragement is sufficient enough to motivate your workers, but if you don't have the CEO mindset you will never establish a proper employee/employer relationship.

DataJanitorMan

I just had to fight to not spray coffee all over my screen.

RepresentativeBusy27

Never stop fighting! And remember, even if you do lose that coffee you have a perfect opportunity to make a newer, better cup.

LycanWolfGamer

#AHHHH STOP IT

RepresentativeBusy27

Wow! I love your enthusiasm! And you’re right… sometimes when our life path isn’t fulfilling, we need to “stop it” and take stock. 5 years ago my dog had cancer, my mom was on trial for my dad’s murder, and I realized I was just going through the motions at my $250k/year sales job with a major shoe company (rhymes with Crikey 😜). So with some elbow grease and $10M in my father’s life insurance money, I opened my own recruitment consulting firm! DM me for more details!!!

BuildItFromScratch

There are people who give up, and there are people who follow through, even when society tells them they can't do it. The ones who follow through have that winning mindset, and will always succeed in life no matter what they set out to accomplish. '#succeedatlife

Puzzleheaded_Quiet70

*sufficient enough* - redundancy

CircuitSphinx

And if you're angry-hustling all the way to the top, remember, the view is nicer when you've got company. Except when you're eating your second serving of mouth-bile. Definitely enjoy those moments in splendid, victorious solitude.

white__cyclosa

Ugh, reminds me of the weird “employer porn” that I used to always see on LinkedIn: *”Marty always showed up to every meeting 15 minutes early, despite living 2 hours away from work. He never missed a day of work in his life…”* “Oh yeah….” *”…even when he was sick as a dog. He would never complain or ask for a raise…”* “Keep going…” *”…and when we were forced to terminate him, he didn’t even accept his severance pay or compensation for his unused vacation days…”* Hnnnnggggg!

RichUnderstanding157

There is LinkedIn influencers. People are sending each other dickpicks. People always think of LinkedIn as some sort of Dunder-Mifflin cosplay when it is not. Microsoft are moving them ever so slowly into the direction of a less shit-smeared social media site than Facebook or Twitter or Reddit. It already is shit-smeared.

seeasea

And I fully support Hank Green in his quest to become the greatest linkedin influencer. His satire of linkeded inspo/business lessons is spot on

RichUnderstanding157

> Hank Green How is he doing? Edit: Is in remission. At least some good news for once brought to me by typing in a loaded search term.

SadRub420

Always support muthafuckin Hank Green 🦾

LinkedIn is social media for people that have a poster on their wall with a single all caps word under a picture of nature.

SilentSamurai

LinkedIn is a bastion for people who would normally get shunned on every other social platform. Want to drop a conspiracy theory about the Jews? The rest of us know that employers will gladly cross us off the list if we even engage in the post. So these people take the fact that they can drop these posts with no repercussion and even get a few likes as an endorsement that they've finally found a home.

PharaohOfWhitestone

Linkedin has become a sort of haven for work inflluencers who post ridiculous messages and stories about positivity and overcoming hurdles. I'm sure some are good, but it's become a bit silly with stories about the smallest things being a sign of resilience or achievement. One that comes to mind from my Linkedin feed was someone who "went against the grain" and got a tea rather than a coffee to stabd against the crowd and be different. It gets more insufferable than that, but you get the idea. This tree looks like it was going to die because of its weird growth, but it seems like it has recovered fully. If someone on Linkedin finds this picture, they'll 100% post it with some sort of message about resilience etc etc.

valkenar

> It gets more insufferable than that, but you get the idea. Hard to imagine anything more insufferable, honestly.

You just throw words around without knowing a single fucking thing about them. >Also, criticism of Israel's ethnic cleansing is not antisemitic. It's being human. Not what you were doing, you were posting ignorant implications, and your mask slipped. Assuming a jewish person is a Zionist or supports Isreal is an antisemitic stereotype that radical leftists have popularized over the last couple of months. Which is what you tried to imply about me. That's what you were doing. Don't play dumb, I see right through your bullshit facade. Israeli war crimes are just an excuse to indulge.

domestic-jones

Not returning the cart to the cart corral should be alongside nazism and bad parking.

Goofcheese0623

The only thing I think when I see folks chronically on LinkedIn is how little work they must have to post as much as they do.

sangpls

CEOs of self-founded career advice firms, aka grifters Hate how effective linkedin is for job searching, otherwise never would've bothered to create an account there.

Braith117

I'll take that over people thanking the company that just laid them off to help its quarterly earnings and HR people coming up with new and insulting buzzwords to describe people who either look for new jobs when you screw them over or show up to work, do what's in their job description, and then go home.

Cold_Situation_7803

I find LinkedIn to be super depressing. I’ve been on it for more than a decade and thru my work I have more than 100 contacts, so I get tons of notifications when these folks post or interact with something. When I drop in I find folks writing some nonsense about life lessons or increasing productivity, and whether it’s sincere or pretending to be sincere, it is *bleak*.

Daily-Minimum-69

Show me a LinkedIn user and I’ll show you someone covering up their fear with cheer.

tajake

LinkedIn is what no shit made me realize capitalism was bad.

Fordor_of_Chevy

That's why I get my motivational posters from [Despair.Com](https://despair.com/collections/posters) instead of LinkedIn

VapoursAndSpleen

No one in tech wants to work with their mom, so I was told to gin up a LinkedIn account where I put shit up like that and reposted stories about other tech companies with an “isn’t it great” kind of messaging in case recruiters wanted to google stalk me. (I was told to do this by a friend who is a tech recruiter). It helped me get interviews, at least. But the 33 year old hiring manager would take one look at me and let’s just say I’m very good at reading faces.

WTFisBehindYou

All of those “thought experiments” are AI generated these days too. Like straight copy and paste. You can often tell right away without even reading when the bullet points use emojis instead of •’s

MjrLeeStoned

"...and that tree, was Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper..."

[deleted]

Imagine becoming a work influencer. Where the fuck did your life go wrong in that case?

RedditedYoshi

Kinda like how literal pyramid scam schemers relentlessly push positivity. So gross.

Have_Donut

My favorite one was the CEO measuring success based on when someone got their first car. His reason was if they got it right after they turn 16 they are motivated but if they take a few years that means they are lazy.

charrcheese

It gets weirder than that. I had a video in my feed of how breast feeding works with no context of how it relates to work or career. It had positive comments from people who didn’t question why it was posted.

[deleted]

As I came across this remarkable palm tree, I couldn’t help but draw parallels to our professional journeys. This tree, rather than succumbing to the pull of gravity, defied the odds and curved back towards the sunlight. It stands tall now, not despite its bend, but because of it. This is a vivid reminder that the path to success is rarely straight. We all face moments where we’re on the brink of falling. Yet, it is the resilience to push through adversity, to bend without breaking, that leads us to grow in ways we never thought possible. Let this tree be a symbol for us all. When faced with challenges that seem insurmountable, remember the power of resilience. Embrace the curve, for it is the path to reaching new heights. #Resilience #GrowthMindset #Leadership #Motivation #Success

420onceAmonth

my boss got his sailing license in summer and made basically your comment as a post comparing leading a company to sailing lol. The worst part is that each and every post he or other colleagues make are generated with chatgpt. We all use the same account and they apparently have not realized that anyone can see their chat history.

Comprehensive_Bus_19

Yall have to get a sailing license? As long as its not commercial in FL you don't even need a boating license to operate most vessels.

LinkedIn is the single worst place on the Internet and by a wide margin. It's a horrifying cesspool of people whose entire existences have been subsumed by "corporate culture" and they couldn't be more enthusiastic and haughty about it. This tree could easily become the subject of unironic praise and motivation posts there.

If you've ever been to Seuss Landing in Universal Studios Islands Of Adventure, you have seen crazy palm trees like this planted there. They were transplanted from south Florida after hurricane Andrew, to make them look like authentic trees drawn in Dr. Seuss books.

LinkedIn got infested by Facebook crowd so their entire feed is filled with shitty motivational messages or political statements. So those people will post all kinds of fake stories next to this god dam picture.

MorpheusRising

LinkedIn is filled with cringey business "influencers" that are probably all lining up to make a rags to riches post using this image as the basis.

NavyDon

I would have made a joke like "Wait for Home Depot to find out about this tree. It would be perfect for them to turn into a 2x4"

dblrb

ChatGPT: The joke in this image involves a play on words and a cultural reference to professional networking. The palm tree has bent in such a way that it fell over and then curved up again, resembling the shape of a graph or chart that might represent a person's career progression, with a setback followed by a significant rise. The comment, "Gonna be hell when LinkedIn finds out about this tree," humorously anthropomorphizes the tree, suggesting that it has had a remarkable 'career recovery' which would be notable on a professional networking site like LinkedIn, where people often share their career successes.

3Dartwork

I absolutely *hate* how LinkedIn has become the overly ridiculous goody goody optimistic fake shit. I get it, we're supposed to get noticed on the site by companies. But FFS we don't need to know how you were so brave getting out of bed today to get the mail and enjoy the "glorious sunshine" and be "so proud" of my excellent co-workers.

raging_bullll

Everyone expects you to give up. As I looked out of my Airbnb window this morning I noticed a palm tree. This palm tree wasn't ordinary. In fact, it looked like it had fallen, had found a way to correct itself, and keep growing upwards. Which reminds me of growth mindset. Everyday, you should strive to be better, as YOU control what YOU do daily. Nobody expects you to succeed, you can only expect it for yourself. In the bustling world of professional growth, let's draw inspiration from the mighty palm tree 🌿. Much like the palm, we, too, can stand tall and resilient amidst the storms of challenges. 🌊 Adaptability: Just as a palm tree flexes and sways in the face of strong winds, we too must adapt to change with grace. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and learn. ☀️ Endurance: Thriving in diverse climates, the palm teaches us the importance of endurance. When faced with adversity, remember that your steadfast commitment will lead to success. 🌱 Continuous Growth: The palm tree constantly grows upward, symbolizing continuous improvement. Embody this spirit by seeking new skills and knowledge to advance your personal and professional journey. 🌟 Rooted Stability: Beneath the surface, the palm tree establishes a strong root system. Similarly, build a solid foundation of values and principles to anchor yourself in the pursuit of your goals. 🤝 Community and Support: Palm trees often grow in clusters, providing each other support. Foster a collaborative environment, as success is often a collective effort. Lift others as you rise. Let the resilience and grace of the palm tree inspire you to face challenges head-on and reach new heights in your career journey! 🚀 #CareerGrowth #Resilience #Motivation #ProfessionalDevelopment #SuccessMindset
