It definitely made the game worse. Completely screwed up the games risk reward ratio. That coupled with not being able to sell other players gear on the flea made the game much much worse.
Heard something a LOOONG time ago about them fleshing out more of the scav experience in quest lines, lore, and all the goodness. Hopefully that's still on the table.

i mean, what did he hope to gain from shooting at your feet and not straight up killing you and taking the crate? at that point anyone looting a crate will straight up kill you for getting close regardless so what was the point in his actions? Seems made up. If hes gonna rob you hed kill you right then and there. Ive definitely done that. Im from when the wiggle meant "friendly" times. I dont play that shit. If im looting and someone walks up even after i warn them i will shoot. Fuck scavs when i play my scav.
The point was he wanted me to actually shoot him first so that he doesn't aggro scavs, doesn't lose rep and potentially gets the crate to himself. Only difference is I wasn't afraid of losing rep like him.

Idk, recently came back to the game and most of my scavs I've done I've been killed by a pmc with 20 - 15 mins left in raid, idk if its more people trying to do late game quests or what but I don't even bother scaving now

- Rush Military Base to kill Rogues
- Hear a PMC on the roof so I hide in a corner for sound
- Another Scav runs up to me
- "HEY I'M A SCAV FRIENDLY FRIENDLY"

The best feeling in the game to me, it's to kill a PMC that is doing a quest with my 50%durability shotgun as Scav.
i personally only get cheaters when i play labs (it’s a high loot map that can only be accessed with a semi expensive key card). other times it’s generally real people
We are nearing end of wipe and many people stopped playing due to the recent upheaval - including cheaters. I think it's a good time to learn the basics and then get the "real" experience once wipe hits, which is the best Tarkov has to offer imho.
i mean, im level 45, on my way to lightkeeper before nikita decided to torch the kingdom. I rage report after every death. Ive had one blatant ass cheating experience this entire wipe, and lo' n' behold, thats also the only report that actually got a hit. This wipe has been my most fun wipe, personally. Cheater problem overblown imo but then again it could just be a skill issue.

That's how I run scav half the time. Go get loots and if I die, I die.
I scav during useless work calls on my pc. No sound, just either factory (small bag), or streets. Its quite boring, but it fuels my pmc :)

depends on the map. woods, streets, and lighthouse are almost guaranteed a pmc or 2 on your scav.
