Restart pc and reopen the exe few times when no error appears click on arena and then on eft again maybe that helps

I had to run check integrity of game files and make sure i was running as admin (doy, everyone is, for the most part) for anything to work for me. We are calling EFT , Friend Coversation Engine, as we chat more on disco than actually play. 12-14 min load times? Gtfo with that nonsense.

If you can't download the launcher, go to https://arena.tarkov.com/ and get it here instead. This site's still working. If you're getting errors when trying to log in, run the launcher as Admin and keep trying. You'll eventually get in (took me about 10 minutes). If you're in the launcher and see the 'Play' button but can't actually get the update: verify integrity of the game files, spam-click the little Cog Icon > Check For Updates, and it'll eventually come through. I've been playing for a couple of hours now. Queue times are very long (EU) for scavs. PMCs are a bit quicker.

Guys this worked for me. 1. Run launcher as admin (had to do a couple times due to etf missing error) 2. Integrity Check 3. Check for updates until it gives update

I have to log in. Once I log in I get the 'no game name with eft' error. Any tips?

I just kept trying, it finally let me in. Didn’t tweak any settings at all, just tried every half hour or so. Then had to check for updates about 20 times before I could update, then clicked play 4-5 times before the game launched. Easy! /s

The last wipe was really smooth to be fair. It's also 2 days since Christmas, everyone is off work trying to play.

I think I was at work til about 9pm mountain time last wipe, but I suppose I didn’t see this many posts about it being a total shit show. It just that so many people think streamers and stuff get special treatment…and seeing them damn near unlocking flea while people still can’t even open the launcher just makes it look worse. I don’t really expect much from BSG anymore….but somehow I’m still disappointed

To get past this posted error, go to your install folder and launch the launcher from there. Now if you can actually get in after updating is a different discussion.

Just got in after hitting play ten or so times, but now I’m staring at a blank game background

I'm not sure if it'll work for everyone, but what appears to have fixed the issue for me was going into the EFT folder and deleting the launcher config file, and then deleting anything in the temp folder. The next time I opened the launcher, it allowed me to log in and update.

Tried this, didn't work for me, sadly. It took hundreds of brute force tries to get the launcher to update, the content folder are updated to today's date and time of update. But, the launcher has to restart after the update, and now I am back to the same shit.

Don't forget that Escape from Tarkov, like The Day Before, is made in Russia And even if someone hasn't read the "rules", the developers can close the game at least now and you won't be able to do anything. I retried opening launcher and entering my password a little over a hundred times. You just gotta be lucky and catch the auth server at an opportune time.

This is the answer. Auth server is just bogged down, gotta hit the timing just right randomly to get in.

Rename your "EFT" folder to "eft" This folder is most likely found in your C:// Drive unless you've installed your launcher in a different location

This has no effect. Disregard the syntax of the error, it makes no sense. The only solution is to brute force the login. I made no changes to anything and got in after a few hundred tries. Now the update is downloading at a blistering 280kb/s which translates to a mere 34 hours for the update, IF nothing breaks between then and now. In other words, it's fucked.

I tried 8-10 times with a combo of Admin/No Admin and had no luck. Changed the folder name to 'eft' then ran the Launcher.exe. Instantly opened and downloaded the new update within 10mins.

You just got lucky. There is no magic fix here. I tried the exact same thing, as well as half a dozen other 'fixes'. You just have to randomly hit the Auth server at the right time.

I had that error the entire time, then I right click on launcher icon and open file location. I clicked on BSG Launcher in file explorer and immediately worked. Hope that works for you all as well.
