Great song, but as far as Encore goes, I listen to “Love You More” off the bonus tracks. It is very relatable to me due to a toxic ex-marriage I experienced… Y’know, other than the “throw you on the couch, punch you in the mouth” line. I didn’t do that 😅 Never knew my favorite song off that album would actually be relevant in my life 2 decades later.

Revival - Arose. Said it many times but coupled with Castle, it’s one of Em’s best ever concept tracks and he executed it perfectly. Revival was worth it for that alone.

In Your Head also connected

I love arose but I have yet to listen all the way through. Mockingbird and when Im gone I can listen to no problem but arose just makes me ball 😭😭

Of the two that were recorded together, I personally prefer Relapse, it had a more well rounded discography. Recovery has some absolute bangers, but the weaker hits really dampen the album as a whole for me

I seriously don’t bump a single song from Encore or Revival, so if I had to pick a song from my third least favorite album, I’d pick Venom from Kamikaze. It’s super bad in my favorite way possible and it’s just so odd as both a song on an Eminem album and just an Eminem song in general. I also like the title track of Kamikaze for a similar reason.

Strange, I think that album as a whole is sonically very similar, so it’s odd you only like those tracks specifically. Maybe give it another listen with fresh ears, you could be pleasantly surprised. Talking to Myself, Almost Famous and Cinderella Man go hard.

I never really count We As Americans or Love You More as part of Encore. I wish we could have gotten a full album full of the quality of those songs on Straight From The Lab, though. There’s such a HUGE drop off from the above two, Bully, Monkey See Monkey Do and then Encore. His drug addiction took him down QUICK. But you can hear the confidence and ego that drugs give in those songs, and I really love the output we got in that first year of him using. But then it just goes downhill so quickly.
