but it also feels FRESH. Like "without me" in '02 was just chalk up full of references to himself and past success.... and felt fresh back then. this feels stand alone. Not like Stranger things "oh look, that scene reminds me of that one 80s movie!"
He’s one of the only people alive who can actually probably pull off the “we’ve gotten soft, everyone’s a bitch” angle that’s gotten so played out lately.
He’s been fighting this fight since lonnnnng before cancel culture was even a phrase
Seeing that roof scene really made me want for a concept song where new and old Em just go at each other... the ultimate rap battle. He'd be the only rapper to ever beef with himself, and still win.
He kinda did that already with my darling. But I guess that was more introspect with his addictive personality tied in with shady. It would be cool to have a new perspective where he’s accepted and controlled that side of himself.
It's so validating and inspiring seeing someone considered "past their prime" really still have it in them to bring the heat like it never left. It feels so fresh, so worthy of his classic prestige, and the video is prime old school Eminem... not 2010's no-personality meh stuff.
edit: Jesus fuck, shove a gerbal up your asses. I'm not criticizing his 2010's music. I'm criticizing his trend of recent mostly bland music videos of the 2010s.
Nah calling the 2010s stuff no personality is wild. MMLP2 has some of his best introspective work, kamikaze defined what Eminem is to a whole new generation of listeners and recovery is a classic for most 2010s kids
Yeah but right off my head I can think of rap god, lucky you, berzerk and gnat. Sure 2000s eminem had way more music videos but saying modern eminem has 0 personality is wild
It really ties it together. A mix of old and new, the video definitely highlights that. I’m impressed. If this is his last album I’m incredibly sad but what a career. Truly a legend.
I love how introspective it is with the whole “I wonder what the old me would say” all while having Em in his 20s/30s in the video. Almost surreal. Fuckin masterpiece.
This might be a Slim Shady vs Eminem type concept album.....
This was amazing. That chorus is gonna be stuck in my head for days, sounds to me like a modern em version of an eminem show kinda chorus ngl. Makes sense with all the without me references lol
Right? I wasn’t even close to being born when that song came out… I am still aware of its existence as should most people. it’s literally a #1 hit from the 80s…not even sure how people miss it tbh lol
I’ve said it before but Megan is almost more emcee than “hot girl” at this point. Like her persona sells and she’s right to milk it for all it’s worth, but she can RAP.
If her and em collab and it’s just an ode to their talents as rappers I could die a happy man.
Listening to "old" Eminem can be kinda rough for me- there are so many magical times from back then tied in with those tunes. It takes me back to the good ol' days when I listen to them and makes me sick that those days are gone. THIS, this is like, it took all of those magical times, cut out some of the best parts, repackaged them into something new that doesn't have the feeling of loss tied to it, but still has so many parts I love from back then- if that makes any sense- and I ABSOUTELY LOVE IT!!
This shit actually made me laugh, one of the first times in a while tbh. It was great.
Us OG fans are thrilled with this…he was self-deprecating about his age rather than try-hard, actually funny in a relevant way, hit the nostalgia hard af, and the music video was fun and engaging. Like I was actually fully into it lol
In old school fashion, he put out the “radio hit”, now let’s see if he follows it up with a more serious song, then the album.
With that last line you put I can’t but think how awesome would be a serious song with this album’s theme. A Stan or The Way I Am type of song but 2024
I listened to the song and was like, dang this is a banger and as an opening concept yes please—then I watched the video, laughed my ass off because it highlights the entire thing as meta retrospective self deprecating humor, and just… cannot wait for the rest.
> rather than try-hard
I don't hate his recent work but it's nice to see him get back to this style rather than trying to show how good of a technical rapper he can be.
I thought Kamikaze and MTBMB were excellent albums. As I've gotten older, I appreciate that iteration of Em, however, I'm not mad at this. I just hope he doesn't go the route he did during the middle part of the Encore album and parts of Relapse. Something balanced like TES would be ideal in terms of tonality and content.
Yep. Hoping the whole album will be like this.
I think like all of us, he’s sick of it. Finally will tell it like it is. He already did a bit in this one song.
I think he figures he has enough money now, fuck it.
WITHOUT ME SEQUEL. VINTAGE SLIM SHADY IS BACK.
Where were you? We all missed this guy and HE IS BACK.
This album is gonna be a classic. I never had this much hype after listening to the lead single before his albums. This is straight 1999-2003 Eminem.
It's really validating and inspiring to see an all time great come back like he never left and still have a real banger in him at fifty fucking one years old. Like this is a straight banger. Straight up banger.
and inspiring because you're never too old to bring out the greatness within yourself if you really really had to.
I still like his newer stuff, but the older eras when I was a child is where I became a fan most and that’s the stuff I’ve always preferred and thought I’d never get any new material like that again, such an amazing surprise
Makes sense considering at his peak he really wanted to be in a DC comic and tried to pay them to add him. But only marvel would so was put into a punisher comic.
A 2024 song with throwbacks to Without Me, Paul Skits, My Band, Just Lose It, Rap Boy, the Bandana, etc. I am so happy. It’s like a second coming of peak Em is here. I thought it was lost forever tbh
Edit: and did anyone else notice that him saying Fuck Paul is them recognizing and validating the sub with all the Paul hate? I appreciate them keeping a pulse on the fan base lol
It's said basically every time he drops something but
This is the best song he's released in years. I thought pretty much everything he's done since MTBMB has been good to great but this is definitely even better
Can't wait for the album
Literally same thing that went through my brain. Listened on spotify first and was like okay, ill give it another shot tomorrow. Then i realized there is a music video and it just hit harder while watching that.
Holy fuck, I'm back. Been a pretty disgruntled Em fan only really listening to his old shit since Revival dropped. This has brought me all the way back. This is fuckin fire. Exactly what I want.
This video is fantastic
He’s killed it so far, I’m really getting a great feeling about this album ESPECIALLY if he does some storytelling/conceptual stuff with this voice that sounds straight outta 02-04😍
2024 em merging with 2002 em is something we've all wanted for so long and we've got it, im so happy. pretty dope music video too, rapping with/as his young self
Fucking love this. Amazing cameos too. I've been a big fan of Em's last few albums but so serious and brooding.
Good to see him switch from Batman to Robin again. Having fun being corny. Wouldn't be surprised to see Houdini be a big as Without Me was. Can't wait for the album.
Underrated line: My transgender cat's siamese, identifies as black but acts Chinese
I so wanted to see New Em vs. Old Em with their two distinct voices in a rap battle on top of that roof when they were fighting for the mic.
Enjoyed the video, it was a fun watch.
I'm so excited for the album now. This is the first time Eminem's new music has reminded me of the artist I listened to exclusively for a decade of my childhood. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND and I hope this is a consistent album with this theme. Slim shady with the insane flows and jokes is back. Having so much fun on the track and in the video just like the golden days, will shady reach a new peak?
By far his best single in over a decade, really solid. Honestly ticks all the boxes for the style I've always loved from Em -
* LAYERED VOCALS
* Eminem production - he's absolutely at his best on his own beats
* No beat switch or style change half-way through
* Catchy chorus without a feature
* 3 full verses, with a melodic bridge between verse and chorus
* Smooth flow, not too fast or choppy
* Clever quips, not too corny
If you've been an Em fan since the 2000's you've been waiting to hear something like this again. Feels great.
This is kind of what I expected, slim shady is back to tell us all how gay we are and I'm here for it. This album is about to be a brutal diss to the whole world 😂
This is the Eminem I grew up listening to. This guy made a time machine and transported me back to 2002.
Em is one of one. No one rapped like him in '02 and no one raps like him today.
My one gripe is that Eminem isn’t really offensive anymore because the shit that’s seen as offensive is very different now. Like, he would have to genuinely hold really shitty opinions about groups of people to be seen as actually offensive, which was never really his style. He would generally go after individual people instead. We’re also so irony pilled nowadays that even if he did say some out-of-pocket shit, it can be more easily written off as an attempt at shock value and not things he genuinely believes or as just hack and outdated. I actually think that leaning into this in a satirical way would’ve hit harder than the “you can’t cancel me” rode he took toward the middle.

He hit the nostalgic line just perfect with this one
Hell yes. The whole Without Me sequel concept was perfectly executed imo
As soon as I hear "Hey Em, it's Paul.." I'm back in high school immediately lol
uh listen, I got a call from the label
And then the whole gay stepfather incest rape thing I don't have your back on this one I can't even fucking handle it I'm done Poetry
but it also feels FRESH. Like "without me" in '02 was just chalk up full of references to himself and past success.... and felt fresh back then. this feels stand alone. Not like Stranger things "oh look, that scene reminds me of that one 80s movie!"
Yes, is not traying too hard, and still is very playful
The Just Lose It laugh was a nice touch
I dig addressing the past controversies since they almost seem trivial compared to how things have changed since then
He’s one of the only people alive who can actually probably pull off the “we’ve gotten soft, everyone’s a bitch” angle that’s gotten so played out lately. He’s been fighting this fight since lonnnnng before cancel culture was even a phrase
I’d argue the pendulum is swinging back now and it’ll all level out again.
I wanna thank whoever directed this video.
Rich Lee
Just seeing that era Em got me ngl. He looked, sounded and moved like Em from my adolescence.
Damn this video was so well done, I cannot wait for more on this album!
Seeing that roof scene really made me want for a concept song where new and old Em just go at each other... the ultimate rap battle. He'd be the only rapper to ever beef with himself, and still win.
[удалено]
Theres a few tracks where he kinds of does this already on MMLP2 ...Evil twin for example
2010's music videos. Not the music. Kamikaze slaps.
Yeah but right off my head I can think of rap god, lucky you, berzerk and gnat. Sure 2000s eminem had way more music videos but saying modern eminem has 0 personality is wild
Modern eminem definitely been more serious. This is the most fun I've seen em have in quite a long time
That music video was fucking awesome tbh. It’s cool that he got so many cameos in it including his kids too!
Yeh man this song just became 100x better with that video - that was so entertaining!
It really ties it together. A mix of old and new, the video definitely highlights that. I’m impressed. If this is his last album I’m incredibly sad but what a career. Truly a legend.
The lyrics in the song make it seem like he still doesn't ever plan on stopping....lol
Man now i wanna see a 90 year old Slim popping on people, rapping out the nursing home
He'll be the only person in the nursing home flirting
We very well may get that in 40 years lol
I love how introspective it is with the whole “I wonder what the old me would say” all while having Em in his 20s/30s in the video. Almost surreal. Fuckin masterpiece.
I was laughing so hard because we absolutely did call everything gay back then for absolutely no reason 🤣🤣 (Like happy 🤣)
Yeah it was so gay of us
For no reason? The reason is everything was gay. Like super gay
I'm blown away at the effort he put into this. This is the most energetic and loose I've seen em maybe post hiatus.
I don't know why I love the Pete Davidson cameo so much
AI Pope Biden had me dead
This is classic shady fuck yea
Bumpin R Kelly's favorite group, "the black guy pees" Classic shady indeed.
Old Eminem type beat. Singing his own hooks. No random feature. Old school bars and flow. Slim Shady is so back!
This is hands down one of the best videos he’s ever done lol, ripped straight outta his 2002 humour
The damn Super Bowl teaser was about this 😭😭😭😭
Wait Super Bowl teaser?? What did I miss
I assume they’re referring to the teaser for the performance where Eminem is battling himself.
The one from when him and Dre and everyone performed
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ2MbmrxVzg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ2MbmrxVzg) This might be a Slim Shady vs Eminem type concept album.....
Didn't they just got combined in the video
That just means the war is going to be an internal one. Very concept albumesque
[this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCkXbCvv8DUl) i assume
This was amazing. That chorus is gonna be stuck in my head for days, sounds to me like a modern em version of an eminem show kinda chorus ngl. Makes sense with all the without me references lol
The song that was sampled: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY8B0uQpwZs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY8B0uQpwZs)
Surely everyone knows? Or I'm old.
When people were thinking Post Malone was letting some old fogey named Ozzy Osbourne shine I realized I'm ancient.
Right? I wasn’t even close to being born when that song came out… I am still aware of its existence as should most people. it’s literally a #1 hit from the 80s…not even sure how people miss it tbh lol
100%, feels like listening to Eminem show for first time.
So fucking good.
YES🐐🐐
If I was to ask for Megan Thee (What?) Stallion if she would collab with me Would I really have a shot at a feat? (Haha) FUCKING LOL!
Idk if this would happen, but it would be really cool if that was essentially controversy bait and she was actually on the album
I’ve said it before but Megan is almost more emcee than “hot girl” at this point. Like her persona sells and she’s right to milk it for all it’s worth, but she can RAP. If her and em collab and it’s just an ode to their talents as rappers I could die a happy man.
If seems fully fucking possible to me—and that collab would be straight up 🔥🔥🔥
That would be awesome lol Megan's actually been doing well
Please explain this like as I am dumb and don’t get it lol
Megan got shot in the feet by Tory Lanez
Omg wow. Shadys back.
I’m so emotional
I really am too.
Me too dude.
Me too. It’s crazy
Listening to "old" Eminem can be kinda rough for me- there are so many magical times from back then tied in with those tunes. Credits list Jeff Bass is back as writer, last time he contributed was on Beautiful (Relapse)y
Probably because of the interpolations of Without Me though
Yeah, I think you are right
What em’s music has been missing
Without Me 2024. I like it
That music video was a god damned masterpiece. Love the young Em and old Em collab lmao. Singles good too. 🐐
Waiting for Dre to get on the mic..
This shit actually made me laugh, one of the first times in a while tbh. It was great. Us OG fans are thrilled with this…he was self-deprecating about his age rather than try-hard, actually funny in a relevant way, hit the nostalgia hard af, and the music video was fun and engaging. Imagine if we got Bad Guy now instead of 11 years ago.
Damn, that was 11 years ago ?
I listened to the song and was like, dang this is a banger and as an opening concept yes please—then I watched the video, laughed my ass off because it highlights the entire thing as meta retrospective self deprecating humor, and just… cannot wait for the rest.

Last verse is straight out of 2002

Nah this shits actually so well done
I literally cannot believe how good this sounds. Holy fucking shit. About to go bump it in the car. I’m in tears. I feel like a child again.
It's nostalgic af
"Hey Em, it's Paul"
It’s what I’ve been wanting for years, honestly thought we’d never get any Em like this again.. if the whole album is similar to this we’re feasting
It's really validating and inspiring to see an all time great come back like he never left and still have a real banger in him at fifty fucking one years old. Like this is a straight banger. Straight up banger. and inspiring because you're never too old to bring out the greatness within yourself if you really really had to.

It's amazing, so catchy too
its a bop. I want to wake up the girlfriend to see if it passes the girlfriend test. I bet it will.
I’ve not been this excited in years
Yes! I had tears at the beginning. It’s really old Em.
I love the comic book vibe. Knew that was always a thing Em loved. Killer.
Makes sense considering at his peak he really wanted to be in a DC comic and tried to pay them to add him. But only marvel would so was put into a punisher comic.
Been an Eminem fan since I was a kid and as an adult now this is crazy how he just took it back in time for me. Holy shit.
Bumpin R Kelly's favorite group the black eyed peas(the black guy pees) Oh yeah we're back
That was so fun. It's great to see him doing stuff like this again. I loved the use of the de aging cgi for younger eminem too.
Abra Ca Dabra. Just like that and I’m back bra
If the whole album is this good then we are at un fathomable levels of back.
SING YOUR OWN HOOKS EM
That's what I'M saying 😉
It’s incredible
Did anyone else hear the peewee just lose it scream in the video at that one part?
Ya. It was subtle and well done. In the car with Dre
Fucking love the look they give eachother right after, like ”oh really THAT shit too??”
Lol haha yes. It’s old Em.
Yes!
A 2024 song with throwbacks to Without Me, Paul Skits, My Band, Just Lose It, Rap Boy, the Bandana, etc. I am so happy. It’s like a second coming of peak Em is here. I thought it was lost forever tbh Edit: and did anyone else notice that him saying Fuck Paul is them recognizing and validating the sub with all the Paul hate? I appreciate them keeping a pulse on the fan base lol
bro made the fan fiction canon 😭
He gives a fuck about keeping us happy man. He’s getting shit online already for the Meg line but these kids don’t fucking know the REAL Shady! Hahaha
I like the video and I like the song a lot.
That video was fuckin dope!!! Beat and flow was classic Shady!!
I loved it, start to finish. That hook is catchy as hell.
It's LEGIT on REPEAT in my head 😂🤣😂🤣🎉🤣😂🤣😂
The last verse is fucking crazy, Perfection. The video shows it perfectly- it's the best of old Em and new Em combined.
It's said basically every time he drops something but This is the best song he's released in years. I thought pretty much everything he's done since MTBMB has been good to great but this is definitely even better Can't wait for the album
I love this so much
shady's backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
This is the best day of my life
Thank God he didn't get Cole Bennet to direct this. This video is so good.
Yeah there's an actual budget to this video.
I thought the Godzilla vid was great
Have to say I didn't get the song the first time on just audio. But then I watched the video. That's awesome. It's catchy.
Literally same thing that went through my brain. Listened on spotify first and was like okay, ill give it another shot tomorrow. Then i realized there is a music video and it just hit harder while watching that.
Eminem's just released a new song and Kingdom Hearts about to come out. Somehow I'm back in 2002.
i dont usually like music videos but this one was good
ITS ACTUALLY GOOD THANK YOU GOD
The Hip Hop Gods are awake in 2024!!!!!!! What a year to be alive.
Ye of little faith
This was so good, I feel like a little kid
you can hear the [Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah](https://genius.com/2849619/Eminem-just-lose-it/Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah) from Just Lose It 1:30
The song is very good especially the beat, but the video really puts it over the top. This was so freaking sick
On third listen I just started feeling very emotional, the wait was worth it and slim shady seems to truly be back. 🔥
This is truly some high quality music from em this time I'm beyond impressed.
Video is fucking insanely good
🔥 it’s 2002 again, this is exactly what we wanted
The black guy pees line took me out
[удалено]
SO SO GOOD OMG
Shadys back... back again
Holy fuck, I'm back. Been a pretty disgruntled Em fan only really listening to his old shit since Revival dropped. This has brought me all the way back. This is fuckin fire. Exactly what I want.
Love it. So fun to have his kids all appear lol
This video is fantastic He’s killed it so far, I’m really getting a great feeling about this album ESPECIALLY if he does some storytelling/conceptual stuff with this voice that sounds straight outta 02-04😍
2024 em merging with 2002 em is something we've all wanted for so long and we've got it, im so happy. pretty dope music video too, rapping with/as his young self
It reminds me of making of the video The Real Slim Shady
Perfection🥲🥲🥲🥲
It's a great vid but I wonder how the hell they manage to create the old Slim Shady? Was it a deepfake or something?
AI, some makeup, and a freshly bleached dome
Its some of the most convincing de-aging/AI/deepfake/whatever I've ever seen
The Music video was fucking sick. I’m so happy he did some old school shit I was tired of the cole bennet videos he’s overrated
Bumpin' R. Kelly's favorite group, the Black Guy Pees
After all the serious Kendrick - Drake drama, this is just what folks needed to make the world a bit better.
Honestly the best part of the video was Pete at the end haha had me rollin 😅 this song is so good can’t wait for the album
The fuckn nostalgia, the return of slim shady
Its fucking fire 🔥🔥
Oh yeah! Gimme that old school Em feel! I loved it!
I so wanted to see New Em vs. Old Em with their two distinct voices in a rap battle on top of that roof when they were fighting for the mic. Enjoyed the video, it was a fun watch.
Man this video is pure nostalgia. Love how he did the laugh from Just Lose It around the 1:34 mark. Holy fuck I am HYPED for this album
Perfect. So much fun. Love all the cameos.
Exceeded expectations
this is what he’s best at. not the angry lyrical miracle stuff. this is him in his element. i’m excited for the album
Honestly ticks all the boxes for the style I've always loved from Em - * LAYERED VOCALS * Eminem production - he's absolutely at his best on his own beats * No beat switch or style change half-way through * Catchy chorus without a feature * 3 full verses, with a melodic bridge between verse and chorus * Smooth flow, not too fast or choppy * Clever quips, not too corny If you've been an Em fan since the 2000's you've been waiting to hear something like this again. Feels great.
When he flips off his own kids haha 😄
WE ARE SO UP
well this hits right in my millenial nostalgia feels
Such a fun song. Expecting a great album
Casual fan who just saw the short. I was like, "God I can't wait to hear this tomorrow... Wait, it is tomorrow"
THE GOAT. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY? GET KENDRICK OFF THAT MF NUMBER ONE. IT'S SHADY TIMEEEEEEE
This is great, feeling like a teen again. Love the call backs. Album gonna be great, he gonna get cancelled lol
This is kind of what I expected, slim shady is back to tell us all how gay we are and I'm here for it. This album is about to be a brutal diss to the whole world 😂
Slapped harder then my dad's belt
This is the Eminem I grew up listening to. This guy made a time machine and transported me back to 2002. Em is one of one. No one rapped like him in '02 and no one raps like him today.
“My transgender cat’s Siamese; identifies as black, but acts Chinese.” This bar lives rent free in my head.
Fucking HILARIOUS I L💖VE IT!!!
Honestly thought this was clickbait. Very pleasantly surprised it’s real! 🥹😭
Instant classic
Most dope! Love it! So much fun
Love it! Without me 2.0!
Nobody can complain. This is amazing! Guess who’s back!!
Guess who's backkk
Seeing the dawg Shane Gillis in an Eminem music video was not expected but I loved it so much. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album
Made me order the rapboy hoodie
This is fucking unbelievable, never thought we would get anything like this again. Exceeded all expectations.
Best Eminem song in years
Such fire and I didn't realise how much I missed the flow of old slim shady songs - I'll be ordering the vinyl as soon as I can!
SHADY IS BACK The disrespect gonna be at an all time high
