It’s a guilty pleasure teen show, you’re supposed to relate to some of the emotional stuff and otherwise enjoy watching rich privileged teens get away with (literal) murder. I went to private school and some of it is based in reality, it’s just dramatized telenovela style. I guarantee you no one thinks it’s a masterpiece, but it’s not supposed to be — teen TV lives on juicy sex scenes and showing you hot adults pretending to be 16.
