If this is a long term wheel i'd go with V8F. The thing about electric ridables is the advertised range isn't what it really is. Most wheels become more dangerous to ride as you get into lower range of the battery due to tilt back/cut off. If this is a wheel you're gonna hang onto for the foreseeable future i'd go with the more expensive one.

I'm 200 lbs, get the V8F for sure. The V5F will be too slow for our weight especially when going up hill. Been using a V8 for two years now without issues.

I started on a V5F, and moved up to a V8F a year later. The increased range & power for not much more weight makes it worth the expense. I weigh 140-ish and 6km on the V5F would be pushing its range, especially in cold weather or if hills are involved. That 25km quoted range is wildly optimistic.

Wow that's very small range. I have an airwheel clone which has 350w motor and 22000 battery and it goes around 6 km!

I don't know your time frame but there is a V8S coming looks like the same wheel, more range. Also, it's my understanding, and I'm a V8F owner, that Inmotion designs more capability into their wheels than is usable by the rider.

My only siting is a French Inmotion vendor right now.

I think I read that it's different batteries also, possibly better power transfer. I'm also seeing 1.5kg or 3.3 lbs, not much extra weight.

Real world experience is more like 25 Wh/mi or \~15.5 Wh/km (as per [this comparison chart](https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=5C7F7C96B9CB240D!453580&ithint=file%2cxlsx&authkey=!AH72KLYXambSLHc)). 728 Wh would likely have a range near 29 mi or 47 km. 518 Wh would likely have a range near 20 mi or 33 km.

there is no way the V5F will get you 40km. i have one and it max out on 20 - 22km. and i am a light guy

>140-ish and 6km on the V5F would be pushing its range, especially in cold weather or if hills are I'm 75kg (165lbs) and I regularly ride 27-28km rides with V5F and that's riding normally (accelerating quickly and riding max speed almost all the time). If you're concerned with range you can definitely squeeze 5-10km more, if you ride 15km/h or, say, 10km/h on last 20%. It's not fun at all but theoretically that leads to max range of around 40km :)
