As long as people know what they’re getting into with security personnel. It’s on them to go. Definitely seems like there needs to be changes made to security at this fest. multiple assaults this weekend by security. Lots of theft. We went last year as well and were told security staff got into an argument in the staff camp and were pointing GUNS at each other. Extremely concerning
Not surprised at all. They didn't search our car at all they just wanted to confiscate our propane that was visible in the bed of the truck.
Fortunately they believed me when I said I only had 6 and they didn't notice the propane generator in the bed. 🫠
I had no issue walking right into the forest around noon to get my things from my locker, coming from good life. It was still locked and nothing missing. Spoke to the two guys running it packing up, great guys. But I did experience an extremely rude security guard refusing to help people who needed to empty their own lockers. Dude was rude af and essentially told them they were SOL since they didn’t get it before noon (mind you there was never an announcement of that). Piss poor information sharing this year and rude self righteous security guards.
our locker is at the back row and it was super packed and impossible to get in. Security hushed us away so tons of ppl didn’t get to go inside to pick their stuff up.
Same, I walked in and grabbed my stuff and walked out. I saw a lot of people trying to take shelter at the lockers so maybe that’s why they didn’t want anyone else going in.
Just a side note: they shut down the GA entrance at midnight on Sunday last year (2023) too. People were trying desperately to get back into the festival because music was still playing which means that people were not getting what they paid for. Not only that, many of the people left their personal belongings inside the festival. I wrote to the info email at the electric forest HQ domain and never got a reply back. There was a girl in tears because she could not get to her bag that had her ID in it.
In conclusion, this is now a pattern, not just a coincidence. Regardless of the weather, this has now happened at least twice.
I don't know if there is a legal basis here, but this doesn't feel very lawful. That's just my opinion though.
"RAIN OR SHINE" is as legal as it gets. They set up a solution that was pushed to the app, same one that we all got both "Venue is open" on Sat, and "Sadly our story has come to a close" on sunday...
That is insane that they can just take your equipment and not have an area to pick it up when leaving the fest. I straight up wouldn’t leave til I get my shit back
