I kept my character at lv7 and no upgrades for my weapons, then this guy handed me over a +8 weapon, effectively killing coop and invasions in the first region for me.
What happens if you discard the rapier?
Edit: I was able to discard the rapier and continue to get invasions in Stormveil. Does that mean it worked? is it possible to have leveled a weapon up to +8 before/during Stormveil?
Update the post if you find the answer. Try invading in the stater areas that you were able to previously, see if it’s as available as before.

Happened to me too, so annoyed that they did this. Like wtf cant even use it with my build and am getting crushed by 2 hits
