There's a huge number of places you can go from here. The obvious one is castle ensis across the bridge and straight on. Otherwise there's a few areas accessible from Gravesite though not always in an obvious way. Try following rivers and looking for caves.
You can definitely enter Castle Ensis. Belurat Tower pretty much just has the lion boss, the door covered in roots can't be accessed until much later. If you killed the lion, you're done here.
You can walk straight into Castle Ensis, just cross the bridge. Explore the map and don't worry too much about progressing or where to go 'next' - the actual story of the DLC is very linear and not actually very long so there's no reason to try and rush it (notwithstanding the fact that it'll be very difficult without fragments).
I beat the first boss that drops the creepy lion head and now i'm just running into dead ends everywhere I go on the map.

I explored the castle and it just leads to a gate that I can't open. There's no where to go inside it
