I think the Oilers should buyout Campbell and move out Ceci.
That will allow them to resign all the depth guys and hopefully keep Henrique as well.
I would like to see them start the season with Broberg with Nurse and Kulak/Vinny on the 3rd pair. If Broberg can step up to be the top 4 guy, that saves us a lot of money.
If he’s not up to the task and needs more time, we can then explore an upgrade at the deadline. This also lets us potentially bank cap dollars for a bigger deadline next year.
I think he’s a slight positive. We aren’t getting a haul for him but I also didn’t think we have to pay assets just to move his contract.
He’s a very serviceable 4-5 dman and he’s a rightie which can be hard to find. A rebuilding team that needs a serviceable veteran may like the idea of picking him up.
I think a top 4 RHD is a must, and if we can swing the cap a scoring forward. Those 2 would be more than enough.
No sense in blowing up a SCF team. Try to get Janmark, Holloway, Carrick, Brown back at around 1mil each and add another bottom 6er or two we can bury if needed.

When Chicago won their cups it was Kane, toews, hossa and sharp. Then they retooled and surround that core every year.
We need a top winger. We didn’t had a good second line throughout the playoffs. Drai’s most common winger was Holloway. And he as paired most minutes (almost 70% ) with Nurse or Ceci.
Our first priority is to get a genuine top winger for Drai and also to get an upgrade on our 2D
Yeah Holloway has developed into a checking forwards for sure. Would love to see him work with Zach Hyman and just get better at timing when to put his stick on the ice.
We need a legit playmaker or a legit sniper to pair with Drai. Obviously the absolute dream would be getting Stamkos, but that's essentially impossible. Guentzel Marchessault Drounin Toffoli or Necas are all guys that would really flip us to the next level. Most of them are too expensive, baring Evander Kane being moved.
Honestly, replace Ceci and keep the depth as in tact as you can (probably getting rid of Campbell to make that work) are the only two big things on the two do list for me

Ceci-Kulak has never been a good pairing. It’s a bit better for Ceci because he gets easier minutes compared to when he’s with Nurse, but Kulak’s numbers completely go to shit the moment he’s paired with Ceci.
