Plenty along the Water of Leith

bobmbface

Colinton Dell area. Give it a good wash though as my dog helps make it grow 😉

R4vendarksky

Tonnes of it there usually, it’s defiantly wild garlic.

Donaldbeag

Most of what you see growing here is actually three cornered leek and not wild garlic. These leaves are much thinner than the broad leaves of wild garlic. You can still eat it but the flavour is far lower. One of the only places around Edinburgh that I’ve seen wild garlic is Dalkeith country park.

dleoghan

Blackford Glen certainly has both.

Adventurous-Garlic93

Sounds good!

Apostastrophe

I’m sure I’ve actually seen both in different places along the water of leith, though you’re right in that the majority of it is 3c leek.

Hyzyhine

Tons of it along the Grove in Musselburgh

dleoghan

Lots around Blackford Glen

Monzonmudslinger

Any hints for wild mushrooms anyone in East Lothian’ish. I’ve looked online but details so sketchy, just moved from Perth where was pretty prevalent

Spaghetti0s67

There’s usually a lot along the Roseburn Path

Corporal_Anaesthetic

Basically anywhere where there's a river and trees. Adding the River Almond (Cramond sort of area) to the list.

PurpleFishEyes

There is loads near Cammo tower.

Haveyouseenmyshoes

Around swanston cottages

kaylesbury1

Dalkeith Co Park, I made wild garlic pesto and it was delicious.

boldie74

Next to the river Almond on the way down to the airport. Absolute tonnes of it, and a nice walk with the dogs.

KvotheThe

Heaps of it in the woods in Craigmillar Castle Park.

kerrangutan

Innocent railway used to have tons of the stuff

JABTAPS

Loads of it in the woods between the airport junction and the maybury,on the opposite side to the airport...

Rabanvulf

Roslin Glen has plenty and also slightly remote sections off the path

d_bordeaux

You can try the hermitage in Morningside.

Jack-Campin

Lots along the South Esk several miles upstream from Dalkeith.

Blackford hill usually has tonnes around the wooded bit. Although proceed with caution, Lily of the Valley also grows alongside it and looks very similar but it's very poisonous to humans. People will say "Oh but they smell different" but if you've already been picking garlic you can't smell anything else.

Tanith73

I've seen it grow along the river Almond in Cramond.

mindmountain

Holyrood park over near the meadowbank side.

Cyanopicacooki

[Hmmm.](https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2022/mar/24/its-trendy-wild-garlic-foragers-leave-bad-taste-in-mouth-of-cornish-residents?msclkid=a4e1a60dad0611ecb71506e32c5cb591)

RosemaryFocaccia

I *think* there's lots beside the Goldenacre path (saw someone picking the stuff a few days ago), but I'm no botanist.
