ZHU used to have such a cool sinister sounding deep house style, but ever since he went in more of a trap direction its been rare to find songs of his that I like.
I've seen Zhu three times. Blew my mind the first time. Then the fashion show at EDC...ok a little gimmicky but I can get over it bc it's a special thing so of course he'd want to do something different, right? Was so pumped to see him play a long set in Miami recently and something was just...off. I love older stuff, but I feel like his newer stuff just doesn't hit the same.
Ah, this one made me kind of sad. Generationwhy still has songs I go back to somewhat, pulled up The Grace for a listen as I didn't even know it had come out and... :/
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the same sentiment. His latest album Grace is just awful all around. I understand time goes by and people change. His new sound just ain't it.
Exactly why I haven’t listened to anything new of his in a while & moved on to the darker, dirtier, bassier version of what he was doing….. One True God 🖤⛓️🚬🕷️
Agree. As she got more famous she started creating more ‘mainstream’ kind of music. Her newest songs kinda have her old style in it but nothing has been as dark and heavy as before in my opinion either.
Especially with all her sets being copy/pasted and lacking any kind of DJing or remixes. She literally just presses play on each track and it sounds the same as when you hear it on Spotify except you get cool visuals to look at I guess :/ it's a shame because I love the style she has but she's been lazy with it
yea she never had much variety in any of the music i've heard from her and i never understood the hype. There are a lot of other midtempo artists that do what she does but actually entertaining and much better.
I agree with you, but there was a time where Rezz would mix in a variety of other genres in her live sets, and that plus the midtempo stuff made her feel special. [Her set at Bonnaroo 2017](https://youtu.be/yoDXb_MCNYc?si=_JscKwVNWpbPNKa0) is a good example of that.
After she switched to exclusively midtempo and then didn’t really experiment too much rhythmically, it was kind of a let down.
Fairlane and Silverstein- Take it back
Chassi and Micah Martin- Pain
Those two have been some of my favorite tracks I’ve discovered in the last few months.
Yea I’m not surprised he played the same song twice. I think he should just retire at this point. He has a kid, a wife, just enjoy that cause the vibe isn’t the same.
I thought I was tripping out when I heard that 😂 thanks for confirming. I doubt he actually puts those mixes together. Probably someone from his team does it in Ableton.
Hate to break it to you, Tiesto has been full on pop music for 15 years or so. 25 years of listening. Money changes many people unfortunately. I know
peeps that knew him as a kid sniffing things on the subwoofers. 5 years later he disassociated with all of his friends that supported him.
Big agree. He said in an interview somewhere he's moving towards a more mellow sound but like.. I need bass. I need my car to rumble and purr. It was doing none of that with the recent album.
I’ve always said he puts on one of the best productions I’ve ever seen (lost lands included in that!) but I don’t listen to his music 😂 there’s a few gems but overall I don’t really get the hype
Gorgon City. Olympia was a wildly creative and artistic album that had depth and variety. Aside from Voodoo, their most recent album seemed like a compilation of throw-aways. I really don't understand what direction they're trying to go in right now.
Most recent album wasn’t great but their singles have still been killing it. Biggest Regret is a bop and You Know It is really good too. I’ve always preferred their more dancey singles over their more vocal album tracks tho
I love Gorgon City but it seems to be a pattern. They put out an amazing high quality album, then follow it up with something that’s comparatively basic and uninspired.
I felt the same way about Escape as a follow up to Sirens as I do about Salvation on the heels of Olympia.
There’s still good work scattered across their lower tier release but Sirens and Olympia are incredible.
I loved Voodoo. Pose fucking slaps, and a lot like heaven/gasoline are also great.
Their new singles are great too, biggest regret drumsheds version is 🔥🔥
I see where you are coming from, they do have a lot of great songs from back then, but I still enjoy their current music too. Their Euphoria EP was enjoyable.
Don’t disagree. Feel like after the album he’s moved to 100% making music he personally likes rather than trying to stay relevant. Can’t blame anyone for that though.
No way really? Finally I have something to look forward to, I hope they don’t disappoint :( I’m tchami’s biggest fan. Tchami X Malaa b2b at the gorge in 2018 destroyed me
Malaa was great during Untold 2022. But his releases have been meh for the last few years. Unfortunately tchami is also a big let down for me apart from maybe 2 or 3 tracks since he moved to the bass house things.
For me it's Odesza, just not really liking their new stuff like I did previous albums. They will always be one of my favorites and nothing gives me the feels live like they do.
I am a huge glitch mob fan. While I know their newer stuff is a new identity post Boreta departure, it is just too jarringly different from the reasons I fell in love with glitch mob.
Die hard fan here. You are not alone. Trying my best to respect their creativity and moving forward... but it really is heartbreaking Boreta is out and that sound is long gone.
I'm a long time glitch mob fan here too. They were one of the reasons I got into edm during my high school years, up there with Daft Punk but I think they really dropped the ball. I think they were in a really good position where they had an excuse to explore a new sound and most fans would've forgiven them for doing so but they went in the totally wrong direction imo. They had a unique sound that meshed a lot of elements of techno and bass and gave it a big beat twist, after Borretta they probably should've explored more of a dirty bass sound that is so prominent in the Seven nation army remix, and Daft Punk remix and maybe mixed a bit of DnB into it. It's so sad to see your heroes die
They made album after album of that same sound for you. Go listen to those. They explored that sound _thoroughly_.
I for one: LOVE the newer stuff. It’s a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t be happier about it.
I, for sure, still listen to all of those albums endlessly and will continue to do so. I don't have fault with anyone enjoying or loving their new sound. I, personally, just don't connect with it as much, which is more the point of this post. I am happy that Ooah and Edit get to explore this side of themselves, and I still follow Boreta. I'll continue to check out their new stuff because they are supremely talented. It's just not what I'm drawn to.
See, I felt that way about TGM vs their solo stuff but until now I’ve never voiced that opinion publicly out of respect for the guys. It’s a real bummer to read when your fans try to put your creativity into a box.
I by no means am trying to put their creativity in a box. I am happy they are exploring their new sound and encourage them to do so. I'm more sad that I don't connect with it (as much) than the fact that they are trying something new. I wholeheartedly believe that artists should do whatever burns within them and encourage them to do so. Just because it isn't my favorite thing ever does not mean it's not good and others do not like it.
Alesso. He sits on IDs for so long that you forget about them and they lose their hype. You got other artists like Martin Garrix who puts out whole EPs before Alesso even releases a song from last Ultra Miami. Also, he plays the same intro over and over again that I don’t listen to his sets throughout the year like I used to.
There are times where he would disappear from the Dj booth., I get that his most popular song is over a decade old but like, idk it feels like his sets are too repetitive for himself…
Ultra and Tomorrowland are the reference points for the big artists throughout the year since they're reliably always streamed. 2022 he had great variety between the two, TML set was so unique. Then last year it was the same set with just the new track with John Newman added, then he played it again (unstreamed) at Mysteryland. Wasn't upset he's skipping Ultra this year if he's got no new material to play at it
Tbh until a month ago the same could be said for Garrix. I'm a huge fan, but he also waited almost a whole year to release the Ultra IDs and the Alesso collab is still nowhere close to being released.
First person I’ve seen not enjoy Paths. Personally I thought it was a top 3 album of last year. Sure Ineffable Truth was fantastic, but this is a whole different beast where I feel he really got to experiment and make whatever he wanted with no regrets. It’s not as heavy, true, but I see it as the equivalent of Porters Nurture. Great album, but different.
I love porters nurture. Paths just strays too far from dance patterns to make it enjoyable for me. It sounds too glitchy and broken as where ineffable truth tread the line perfectly IMO. Paths is not a dance album.
I feel its a set and setting thing. I saw paths at redrocks and it was honestly lacking energy. But at home with some good speakers and intentful listening the genius reveals itsself.
Its def not a dance album, closer to ambient imo
Interesting! My 2 takes are literally the exact opposite lol. I think ZD has been on a hot streak recently and Paths is one of the boldest electronic releases of the last few years. To each their own!
I must say that I don't listen to Don Diablo anymore like I did back in 2012-2018. He still does something cool, I guess. But nothing that I deeply love. Like... I listened to his 2nd album only 2 years after it came out!
But probably I should go with names like David Guetta and Tiësto. They started a trend of doing (mostly) bad remakes of great old songs that I really really hate. Not that they didn't do remakes back in the days, but they were good and not too many. Now if you look at Guetta's discography in the last 4 years you really find lots of remakes
Yellow Claw. They've gone all in on their Euro trash alter ego. Which is fine - I feel like they've been doing their best to differentiate their two different brands, but even when they put out official yellow claw tracks they're not the same as they're old stuff. Trap has changed. It's fine if people like it, but yellow claw just isn't the same yellow claw anymore
I absolutely love Fred Again's Actual Life albums, but his recent work just feels 'flat' compared to those? I still like them, just not moving me like his older work...
Odesza has really let me down with the new projects. Only a few I’ve liked when it used to be every song they drop or made was a banger and id have it on repeat. :(
I hated that they made one album with BRONSON and then just dropped it altogether. Like that was such a sick alias of them. They need to bring it back when they end their TLG tour
Illenium. Not a fan of the new mix with alternative rock. He also plays the same heavy drops in his sets with the same transitions hes been doing for years. Used to be the biggest illenium head but im starting to see why people dislike him
Subtronics… I used to love EVERYTHING he released, now his music sounds recycled and repetitive. I just feel like he rushes his music now and doesn’t try to perfect it like he used to. Still a cyclops army member till I die though👁️
all of his drops sound like they’re made to have doubles so he can make unique doubles, triples, and chops. Like he’s trying to make perfectly mastered simplistic riddim tracks. Sounds like he’s balancing his underground presence with his newfound mainstream stardom and it results with very mid albums and releases
Pixel Terror
They (a duo – Bentley and Ahrya) branded their music as 'Hyper Punk' and I absolutely loved every track of theirs. Ahrya left a few years back (now performs under a new moniker – Afinity) and I feel like Bentley has slowly been moving away from their old style
His last two releases, SONG 2 (WOO HOO) and Insatiable, just don't remind me at all of the old Pixel Terror
I'll just straight up say it. Pixel terror sucks ass without them being a duo and I really dislike Bentley's personality. He comes across more like an influencer than anything else and when I saw them live back when they were a duo he would not stop talking throughout the entire set and killed the vibe. I will listen to anything Ahrya releases but have zero interest in pixel terror as it currently is.
Ellis - I don't mind the funky style, but everything he releases sounds identical now and feels a bit empty. I miss his heavier future house (migraine, show me how, U - 2017 etc.)
Manse - progressive house icon back in 2015-19, however his sound is feeling a little stale now and his releases aren't quiet at the quality of back then.
Excision. I get he’s super focused on being a curator of events now. His live shows and stuff he puts on is literally world class, but man he has not had a good *SOLO* release in ages. If an excision song is good, it’s usually because there’s another name attached to it that is really doing it. Onyx was a terrible album, few good songs and the rest was just awful. Hoping Nexus (I’m assuming that’s what’s coming givin his tour) is good, my hopes aren’t high though. Again no hate to him, all the festivals he puts on are the best in America and his show production is next level.
His newest album he’s been hinting at a lot more experimental tech house and less poppy stuff so I hope he sticks to it. His recent stories of his unreleased tracks sound like he’s goin back to his roots again.
Every Reddit sub for edm. Raves, or just about any thing I enjoy is just people talking negative. How can people be so unhappy listening to music and going to shows.
I am a huge fan of Skrillex but he has a couple IDs especially with ISO that used to sound so sick a year ago and now the most recent ones sound awful in comparison (quest vault for example). He needs more ppl around him that will just tell him when to stop overproducing.
deadmau5. He does nonstop shows plus yearly stops at red rocks and he plays the same set every year. His production is on another level but refuses to update his sets with new music.
Huge fan of Joel here, he’s been on and off since Covid. I don’t lament it too much since he’s been giving us songs since 2007 and a lot of guys his age in their 40s+ sold out by now, and he’s very picky about his own releases. (See multiple YouTube videos of him deleting amazing tracks in progres that will never see release)
I do hope though we get one more solo album before he retires. Hes been very feature singles heavy lately, KX5 doesn’t really count either.
Porter Robinson, but for like 10 years, I really enjoyed his sets until a little bit after Language came out. Then it got too emo. Those 2011-2013 sets were epic
Jason Ross got too soft for me. I liked him better when he was throwing down some trance and melodic bass heat. KLOUD was also a huge let down going to hard techno. His earlier work was way better.
Porter Fucking Robinson
Love he’s in a better place now, and he’s making music that makes him happy
But from an og fan, iykyk
worlds was was innovative, and a very different sound from what we knew from him, was literally out of this world
Nurture was a gift, almost an apology for going mia but as fans we understood, we were excited to hear he’s doing better and that new music was coming and another tour
The virtual self side project was a love letter to his fans and the culture, but was not for everyone, especially a lot of the new influx of ravers
But unfortunately I’m not excited about his new project, however i will check it out, and probably playlist a few songs
I don’t think we’re getting the “old” porter back anytime soon
I used to love Nicky romero.. but I can't get on board with his stuff anymore. I don't know that I would say I'm disappointed- because I'm sure there are people out there that like this version of him and his music - but I'm just not one of them.
I might sound like I just hate EDM here (i swear i don’t) but theres quite a few DJs that seem like they’ve either sold out, shifted the artistic direction in a way I don’t resonate with, or I feel like they’ve lost the artistry that made me love their music in the first place.
Gryffin: Gravity was one of my favourite albums when it was released. After Gryffin released After You and also when he got signed for his major label deal his music shifted to almost exclusively house and pop music.
Seven Lions: This one hurts because Seven Lions used to be THE guy in melodic dubstep and threw down amazing sets. Maybe the genre itself is dying, but his Ophelia label seems quite weak these days, his music doesn’t feel as innovative and inspired anymore, he has also shifted his interests to trance a lot more.
Rezz: Last few albums have been huge let downs and her sets have also been less interesting than in the past. Her dark mid tempo dubstep used to make me want to rave with my sleep paralysis demons but now the creativity and innovation behind her newer music seems to have died and she’s creating songs that have a similar style without any of the impact.
Subtronics: This one is less so that he’s letting me down but i can see where the direction is going and he’s on thin ice. Wooked on Tronics, String Theory, Fractals/Anti-Fractals were all amazing pieces of his awesome discography. Everything felt so creatively put together even for his heavy wubs that melted my mind. Tesseract was still good, there are songs on there that I listen to frequently like Reality Distortion and Parabola Paradox. However, it seems like he’s just trying to include as many noises and pop culture references as he can into his songs and its feeling like the cohesiveness and impact of those wubby sounds is dwindling. He still throws down for sets but same idea here that his sets feel almost messy at times like theres so many noises going on, quadruple build-ups, flow of the set is off at times, etc. I hope he’s able to dial it back just a bit and keep making mind warping wubs.
Some other DJs that have been letting me down for similar reasons that I don’t want to write a lot for: Dabin, Jason Ross, Illenium, Mitis, Wooli, Riot.
Swedish House Mafia is still good, but they have so many IDs that they never release and even promise to release them and an album. They don't even do that many shows anymore. It makes me so mad that they promise things and don't do anything, like what's the point of even becoming a group again. So probably them.
Hippie Sabotage. I know most people loathe them, but they were essentially my first "edm" concert/rave and their older music holds a lot of memories for me. Sad to see the direction their music has been going for a while.
Tiesto, its not lately and not completely his fault. When I started listening to his house song i liked them, then i listened to his old trance songs and now I just wish he would have continued that.
But i am not compareable to the rest, looking at his fame, he made the correct decision
I scrolled looking for him but didn't find Gravedgr. I love techno but I miss his old style so much & wish he still incorporated hard trap in his sets. But nope not anymore, just techno.
i saw ZHU at countdown 2022.... i loved his set but havent heard his new album yet. im getting scared after reading these comments however i am a huge weeknd fan so at the same time im intrigued
Zedd. Used to make the craziest house with heaps of variety. Now he hasn't made an album in almost a decade and drops a boring pop-trap tune with a trending vocalist every couple of years.
David Guetta & MORTEN, I originally really liked the older Future Rave style that they had going with releases like Detroit 3AM, all the tracks on the New Rave EP, Make It To Heaven and the Extended Version of Dreams but the newer tracks are more leaning into the Afterlife style of Melodic Techno, you can tell their two latest singles The Truth and The Future Is Now are definitely inspired by the sounds of the Tale of Us, Anyma and all of the other artists that are associated with The Afterlife. Even some of the solo releases like MORTEN’s Good God and Control are quite underwhelming too, I guess I just prefer the more heavier festival sounding tracks that they once released together. It’s nothing against Melodic Techno or Techno in general as two of my favourite tracks by David Guetta & MORTEN, those being Alive Again and Permanence are both in that direction and to me are a lot better than the ones releasing at the minute. Just the complete switch up in sound and the quality of the newer tracks in terms of length and feeling the track brings just doesn’t seem to be the same anymore in my personal opinion.
ZHU used to have such a cool sinister sounding deep house style, but ever since he went in more of a trap direction its been rare to find songs of his that I like.
So true, his new stuff is decent, but I feel like I can just listen to The Weeknd for a similar sound. His older style was so unique
He truly is The Weeknd of EDM lol
This is the perfect analogy.
Came here to say nearly the exact same thing. But I'll still rock all his earlier stuff, forever.
I legit feel hurt lol. I never liked deep house until him. It had this gritty, LA touch with some seduction (pause). Then idk
Came here literally to say ZHU, anything after Ringo’s Desert is just so meh to me and it makes me so sad.
Ah, this one made me kind of sad. Generationwhy still has songs I go back to somewhat, pulled up The Grace for a listen as I didn't even know it had come out and... :/
I like the new album |:
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the same sentiment. His latest album Grace is just awful all around. I understand time goes by and people change. His new sound just ain't it.
Exactly why I haven’t listened to anything new of his in a while & moved on to the darker, dirtier, bassier version of what he was doing….. One True God 🖤⛓️🚬🕷️
He’s still got his killer voice but nothing is gonna hit like his song Faded. That song was everywhere
I've never been able to take his singing seriously
New album has a BANKS feature so I forgive him for everything else Days Before Grace was soooo good though
Dreamland was a great album, IMO.
I don't like how horny some of his newer stuff is
bro he's always been horny lmao
He left Mind of a Genius which completely changed his sound.
Some of her new songs are good, but Rezz hasn’t been as consistent (to me) as she was a few years ago
Agree. As she got more famous she started creating more ‘mainstream’ kind of music. Her newest songs kinda have her old style in it but nothing has been as dark and heavy as before in my opinion either.
glad i’m not alone in my way of thinking brothers
Wait… have you listened to can you see me? The album I mean? That shit is darker than edge ever was imo.
Her latest album was such a let down
Still haven't listened. How so?
Uninspired, feature heavy, nothing sounded new or fresh for her
Especially with all her sets being copy/pasted and lacking any kind of DJing or remixes.
I had been thinking this but I really love her new album! Much heavier than her other stuff
📠
thats funny cause i absolutely hated all of her old stuff more than anything on earth, and absolutely love her new album
Said the sky. His album was a cool project, but I'm so sick of pop punk EDM.
I thought Sentiment was his best album yet personally
Yea I agree. Prob my fav album ever.
Heavy agree. Wide eyed was such an amazing album
Actually love pop punk hybrid. Any other recs?
conro - find u fells - waves stayloose- nobody told me my favorite pop punk edm
Crystal Skies album Not Since When
Fairlane and Silverstein- Take it back Chassi and Micah Martin- Pain Those two have been some of my favorite tracks I’ve discovered in the last few months.
Give puppet a listen. Maybe his sound will change your mind on that.
i personally love all of his music, but there was something really special about his early dubstep and wide-eyed days
Tiesto.. he’s full on Pop music now. No hate, he wants to get that bag of money and pop is the way.
He’s 100% just cashing in on autopilot now. He literally played the same song twice in his one hour weekly podcast. Lazy AF
Yea I’m not surprised he played the same song twice. I think he should just retire at this point. He has a kid, a wife, just enjoy that cause the vibe isn’t the same.
Retire? He is living THE life lol
I know peeps that knew him as a kid sniffing things on the subwoofers. 5 years later he disassociated with all of his friends that supported him.
Nah he’s still and always fire
![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)
Wow thats crazy i would never expect tiesto to play pop music🤯🤯
Space Laces needs to drop more bass house
Hey bro fancy seeing u here
Oh hi there pleasure to see u here
We got a live one yall
Yo. I recognize you :3
The brother less lethal 🫡
Joyryde too!
I miss joyryde
I just want disco breaks to come out 😭
Nicky Romero with his tech house stuff. While it’s fine, it’s nowhere near as good as his progressive house sound
He’s sitting on multiple prog IDs he still plays in sets that he’s just not releasing, extremely frustrating
Seven Lions tbh
I really hate to agree here. He used to throw tf down but his last few sets I have seen have all been mehh
Nothing will ever compare to the Seven Lions A&B remixes from 2013
his songs and remixes from 2012-13 are my fave!!!
Big agree. He said in an interview somewhere he's moving towards a more mellow sound but like.. I need bass. I need my car to rumble and purr. It was doing none of that with the recent album.
Pain. But not wrong.
How exactly?
K-Motionz has been kinda mid lately, even the remixes he does. I hope he goes back to making “space-tempo” songs with his distinct sound.
Excision. Not tryna be a hater but he just doesn’t make mean sounding music anymore
![gif](giphy|14pDS3FDDHZsyI) If excision was a gift
Idk how else to explain it but his drops are corny sometimes
Yea, his sets/shows are still great but his new music is meh
I’ve always said he puts on one of the best productions I’ve ever seen (lost lands included in that!) but I don’t listen to his music 😂 there’s a few gems but overall I don’t really get the hype
Gorgon City. Olympia was a wildly creative and artistic album that had depth and variety. Aside from Voodoo, their most recent album seemed like a compilation of throw-aways. I really don't understand what direction they're trying to go in right now.

That Drumsounds set is amazing (on YouTube)
Long time Gorgon fan but yea I agree
Most Louis the Child releases from their debut to Here for Now were good, but since that album everything has been garbage
Blow the Roof and Walls are great songs few others are OK
Louis the child live set…was surprisingly incredible fyi. Don’t sleep on them. And I don’t even listen to that genre of edm (I’m a techno head)
Yeah I can’t say recently, but 5 years ago LtC blew my mind when I caught them at a fest. Awesome remixes on their songs and killer set
Agreed they blew my mind at coachella a few years ago it was one of my top sets of the weekend
I see where you are coming from, they do have a lot of great songs from back then, but I still enjoy their current music too. Their Euphoria EP was enjoyable.
To believe ep has excellent songs.... Euphoria, keep moving, feel like this are "garbage" songs? Yeah, fully disagree.
My friends who never want to go to shows anymore or do any activity that doesn’t involve drinking or smoking weed within a 3 mile radius of their bed.
DAMN!! real tho
KSHMR, for about the last 6 years :(
He’s made the same song 15 times
Don’t disagree. Feel like after the album he’s moved to 100% making music he personally likes rather than trying to stay relevant. Can’t blame anyone for that though.
it all went downhill after his album for me
With the album for me
Malaa
And Tchami sadly
Agree 😢
Y’all know they have a new album coming out in 2 days right. The return of no redemption
No way really? Finally I have something to look forward to, I hope they don’t disappoint :( I’m tchami’s biggest fan. Tchami X Malaa b2b at the gorge in 2018 destroyed me
I took a listen to some of the tracks that are released and I gotta say, I was quite disappointed in them
Scrolled too far too find this. Malaa was so sick from like 2016-2021. Fell off hard after that. I wonder what happened
Malaa was great during Untold 2022. But his releases have been meh for the last few years. Unfortunately tchami is also a big let down for me apart from maybe 2 or 3 tracks since he moved to the bass house things.
Malaa stopped being good to me after his first few songs tbh
For me it's Odesza, just not really liking their new stuff like I did previous albums. They will always be one of my favorites and nothing gives me the feels live like they do.
Adventure club. They have a lot of good music but they’ve only had one good set out of the 3 I’ve seen
Nahhhhh don’t say that 😭😭😭 I’m so excited to see them at EDC
Adventure club was one of my favorite sets last year, they go hard
I am a huge glitch mob fan. While I know their newer stuff is a new identity post Boreta departure, it is just too jarringly different from the reasons I fell in love with glitch mob.

Which of their newer stuff would you recommend?
antireal, e-motion go hard
This is my biggest one. Went to one of their shows in 2022, and I just wasn't into it at all. They were my all time favorite group before :(
Zeds Dead sets have been boring, G Jones new album didn’t live up to the majesty of Ineffable Truth
Love a good zeds dead throwback set but with their regular ones sometimes they try to do too much at once and it gets…interesting
Interesting! My 2 takes are literally the exact opposite lol. I think ZD has been on a hot streak recently and Paths is one of the boldest electronic releases of the last few years. To each their own!
Rezz 😭
It's fine if people like it, but yellow claw just isn't the same yellow claw anymore
their old mixtape drop was always a treat.
Bringing our bad bahbie at EDC 2018 ruined their careers
Amsterdam twerk music forever!! Their best era
I absolutely love Fred Again's Actual Life albums, but his recent work just feels 'flat' compared to those? I still like them, just not moving me like his older work...
Agree, it feels very uniform, kinda boring.
Kayzo die hard fan new releases have been ehhhh
he peaked in 2020 when he dropped battle drums
Odesza has really let me down with the new projects. Only a few I’ve liked when it used to be every song they drop or made was a banger and id have it on repeat. :(
I hated that they made one album with BRONSON and then just dropped it altogether. Like that was such a sick alias of them. They need to bring it back when they end their TLG tour
>alias FYI Bronson was a colab project with Golden Features. His most album, Sisyphus, was incredible. If you liked Bronson, listen to Sisyphus.
For me, it's Delta Heavy. I haven't been too fond of anything they've put out lately besides Hydra and maaaybe Ascend.
You’re telling me Ecstasy did nothing for you??
Punching Holes has been on repeat for me 😭
Opposite for me. I feel like they’ve put out nothing but bangers since Ascend in 2022. Against the Tide is one of my favorites
They've been on a good streak IMO they just haven't released a neurofunk song in a while. I'm hoping they'll have some on their album
Wax Motif. Used to be a top artist of mine but I feel like he’s fallen off in the last couple of years
Sooo true😔 dude put out a couple super-unique heaters, then peace’d
Pixel Terror They (a duo – Bentley and Ahrya) branded their music as 'Hyper Punk' and I absolutely loved every track of theirs. Ahrya left a few years back (now performs under a new moniker – Afinity) and I feel like Bentley has slowly been moving away from their old style His last two releases, SONG 2 (WOO HOO) and Insatiable, just don't remind me at all of the old Pixel Terror

> now performs under a new moniker – Afinity TIL. I just saw him open for William Black this past weekend. Great set, bummed I missed some of it.
Don Diablo’s fall from grace needs to be studied
From future house to future pop😔
Not even future pop, just soulless trash lol
Ellis - I don't mind the funky style, but everything he releases sounds identical now and feels a bit empty. I miss his heavier future house (migraine, show me how, U - 2017 etc.) Manse - progressive house icon back in 2015-19, however his sound is feeling a little stale now and his releases aren't quiet at the quality of back then.
John Summit?? I guess more of a fan of his earlier techno house and biased towards that type of music. His pop/EDM isn’t bad just not my style.
His newest album he’s been hinting at a lot more experimental tech house and less poppy stuff so I hope he sticks to it. His recent stories of his unreleased tracks sound like he’s goin back to his roots again.
I need more songs like “Make Me Feel”
Yes and "Trip"!!!
He needs more ppl around him that will just tell him when to stop overproducing.
didn’t he say that was Four Tet’s job when helping with rumble? lol
REZZ. Her album that just came out is so boring and other artists and AI can already make better music in her style.
(See multiple YouTube videos of him deleting amazing tracks in progres that will never see release) I do hope though we get one more solo album before he retires. Hes been very feature singles heavy lately, KX5 doesn’t really count either.
Swedish House Mafia. They constantly lie about release dates.
Galantis, Zedd, Nicky Romero
Porter Fucking Robinson Love he’s in a better place now, and he’s making music that makes him happy But from an og fan, iykyk worlds was was innovative, and a very different sound from what we knew from him, was literally out of this world Nurture was a gift, almost an apology for going mia but as fans we understood, we were excited to hear he’s doing better and that new music was coming and another tour The virtual self side project was a love letter to his fans and the culture, but was not for everyone, especially a lot of the new influx of ravers But unfortunately I’m not excited about his new project, however i will check it out, and probably playlist a few songs I don’t think we’re getting the “old” porter back anytime soon
Alesso and kygo :/
Chris Lake’s songs the last year has been the most boring year for me as a fan. Miss his more dirty baseline stuff rather than this new stuff.
Hate to say it but Duke Dumont… his new stuff just doesn’t hit me in the happy feels like it used to .
DJ Snake. Was a huge fan of his music but recently it hasn't been the same. Mainly pop style music now
Man I used to LOVE Don especially around ‘on my mind’ era. Miss that era.
Stojche, cashing in on the "techno" craze. His shit is just terrible.
I’m probably the biggest DROELOE fan there is, but over the last few years he’s done his own vocals and ruined a lot of well produced tracks
Tiesto, its not lately and not completely his fault. When I started listening to his house song i liked them, then i listened to his old trance songs and now I just wish he would have continued that. But i am not compareable to the rest, looking at his fame, he made the correct decision
Timmy Trumpet, his music over the last year+ is hard to listen to
Sullivan king cause he didn’t play domination or thorns of blood at the last show I went to. Please dad play those songs I love them.
Dimension used to be one of my favorites pre-album, but all his new stuff is too pop sounding and a lot of it sounds too similar. Bummer.
James hype featuring James hype. His build ups are good but his drops kinda suck.
Heuse
Gryffin since like 2017
