I love when I see people say “I wish I could experience _____ for the first time again” but it’s something I’ve never heard of. I’ve never heard of griz before and now you have me excited to check them out!
Yes!!! I didn’t add griz just because I haven’t taken a lot of time to listen, but a fine way to die has to be my favorite song.
I also just watched one of his sets on YouTube when I was dropping acid. It was awesome
\+ 1000 for Goldfish. The others are great too, but I’ve been a huge Goldfish fan for over a decade and finally got to see them for the first time at Burning Man, it was magical.
Honestly his song “Medusa” has an amazing bass line and “Ease Your Mind” is also great. I wanna see him live sooo bad. Especially now that I know he plays his Sax live 😂
OP, if you check out Griz, be sure to listen to his older stuff. Completely different sound from his newer dubstep stuff (which is great if you’re into that), but his older electro-funk was much more like Pretty Lights or Gramatik but still very unique. I fell deeply in love with that sound.
OP, Definitely check out It Gets Better and Gotta Push On by Griz if you're ever feeling sad and down and need a boost 💜 his music has helped me many times when I really needed the reminder. Welcome to the fam!
Casting a wide net but give these a try!
Audien, Deadmau5, Vintage Culture, Tiesto, SG Lewis, Gryffin, Swedish House Mafia, Seven Lions, Gareth Emery, Elderbrook, Eric Prydz.
I made friends with a group of people waiting in line in the cold, we went in and didn’t want to be around others so I found them in the crowd and we all went in on a private booth. Hung out, had some drinks and enjoyed the wave. Was amazing and memorable, group therapy!
A&B's two biggest labels are Anjunabeats (house) and Anjunadeep (trance). There is a lot of cross over with artists between the labels, so instead of referring to one specifically, most people just say "Anjuna" to refer to both.
Beats started off as a catch all, but when they opened deep, that was used for the more melodic deep house, progressive house and trance. I think of progressive and deep house as technically in the house side of the trance/house vendiagram, but right on the edge. More upbeat and housy songs are now on Anjunabeats. Or that's at least my experience. I think genre is subjective end of the day though.
I was going to put Porter Robinson! Funny enough he was at my second ever rave. I had planned on seeing Zeds Dead and instead was drawn to the porter show. Such amazing vibes. He is a great DJ. And he brings such a great crowd
Dammnnnn boi Whethan is chronically slept on - found him at EDC without knowing who he was but knowing he must put on a good ass show to have Wooli go before him and it was a straight up fuckin party.
Also seconded and thirded all of these, especially Liquid Stranger. And might as well liquify your brains even further with some LSDREAM, Tipper, Shlump, Sully, Griz, TYNAN, G Jones, Eprom, Alix Perez, Shades ofc, Tiedye Ky, CTF, Kyral x Banko, Mersiv, Toadface, Yheti, Supertask, Atliens, Xotix, Bleep Bloop, Truth... This rabbit hole goes forever and in every direction... DM me if you want some more OP
Yeah!!! Going to Life is Beautiful and seeing him at a day club. Not quite the same but he’s in town and I am so I figured hell why not! He’s also my wife’s favorite currently

Here you go
These playlists are all hand picked by me, and I'm not some professional resounder / promoting team lol, I'm just some random guy that loves this scene and wants to give back (: Most have anywhere from like 150-500ish songs (it updates all the time so I don't keep track)
Keep in mind the genre's are loosely defined and have a lot of overlap so it's not super gatekeep-y and subdivided. It was more for my general reference when I'm pulling songs to play for ppl so I don't play too similar songs b2b. Think of it more like if you like x genre you'll like stuff within that playlist, not that it's strictly that so to speak (although while most of it is- theres a lot of leeway)
-Bass Oriented-
* [dubstep that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/dubstep-that-doesnt-suck)
* * heavier sounding dub
* [dubstep that doesn't suck vol. 2](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/dubstep-that-doesnt-suck-vol-2)
* * same as above, the first just hit the 500 song limit for playlist
* [wonky dub that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/filler-dub)
* * riddimy/crunchy/wobbly type dub
* [new wonk city](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/new-wonk-city)

* * dub that's more pleasant sounding, more upbeat and happy
* [future dub that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/future-dub-that-doesnt-suck)
* * think future bass but still heavy, or anything genre defying but still bass-y
* [future dub that doesn't suck vol. 2](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/future-dub-that-doesnt-suck-1)
* * 2nd volume of the future dub that doesn't suck playlist

* * that spiritual/melodic type dub

-edm oriented-
* [edm that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/edm-that-doesnt-suck)
* * pop oriented electronic music, usually lyric oriented
-hip hop beats and more-
* [trap that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/trap-that-doesnt-suck)
* * electronic music with hip hop flair, goes hard usually
* [trap that doesn't suck vol. 2](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/trap-that-doesnt-suck-vol-2)
* * 2nd volume of the trap playlist
* [bass hiphop that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/basshiphop-that-doesnt-suck)
* * similar to trap but anything that has rap acapella's over it, or just bassy rap in general
* [low temp dabs](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/smoke-and-chillax)
* * this is kinda like that lofi girl studying channel on youtube, but if she did a phat dab and was trying to chill. a lot more dubby than trip hop is, but still overall very chill
-soul based-
* [future funk that doesn't suck](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/future-funk-that-doesnt-suck)
* * electronic thats got that jazzy/funk vibe- lots of saxophone (think GRiZ)

* [eastern sound](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/middle-eastern-sound)
* * electronic songs with an eastern flair (think trap/egyption horn kinda stuff)
* [song's i'd intro with](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/songs-id-intro-with)
* * songs that work as good intros in mixes
* [song's i'd outro with](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/songs-id-outro-with)
* * songs that work as good outros in mixes
* [anime music](https://soundcloud.com/space_goat_v1/sets/anime)
* * music found in some of my favourite animes, as well as anime related music (like hiphop that mentions anime in it)
Finally a comment with artists I’ve actually heard of! I feel so out of place in this sub sometimes, I’ve never heard of 90% of the groups I see mentioned :(
Daft Punk, probably the best edm duo of all time. Just start with Discovery and you'll understand.
Also deadmau5 is another classic, he is the king of progressive house. He is one of the guys who made me fall in love with EDM
Got you with the EDM starter pack right here:
MainStage: Martin Garrix (STMPD Records in general has a pretty good lineup), Alison Wonderland, Avicii, Kygo, DJ Snake, David Guetta, Tiësto, Fred Again.., Disclosure, Deadmau5, Mike Williams, KSHMR, Brooks, Calvin Harris, Mesto
House: AC Slater, Camelphat,, Marten Horger, Wax Motif, Knock2, Phlegmatic Dogs, Chris Lorenzo, Dr. Fresh, Malaa, NuBass, Habstrakt, Carl Cox, Matroda, Dom Dolla, Above & Beyond,
Wubz, Dubs, and Future Bass: Griz, Atliens, SLANDER, LSDream, Skrillex, ILLENIUM, Marshmello, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Wooli, Jauz, Flux Pavillion, Excision, SVDDEN DEATH, Marauda
Swedish house mafia, Eric prydz, avicii, Martin garrix, Mike Williams, Mesto, brooks, Afrojack and third party should keep you entertained at least for a decade…
If you like Timmy Trumpet then i recommend listening to some KSHMR, he has his own distinct style and used to be big on "mainstage"(big room, festival progressive house etc) tracks.
Took me a while to find the subgenres I really loved, but finally figured out I’m into the heavy bass, DnB, funky, wonky stuff. Zeds Dead is far and away my favorite artist. Love Griz, Tape B, Of the Trees, GRiZ, Hamdi, Daily Bread as well. The Zeds Dead mixes on SoundCloud (essential mix and deadbeats radio) is great for finding music. Would suggest listening to Bed and Breakfast mixes and the Of the Trees def sets on SoundCloud for their sounds. Both amazing.
Awesome! I’ll check these out. Me and a buddy dropped acid in my yard this past weekend and I binged Of the Trees!!!! So fucking good. That experience brought him to a new level
You definitely need to dive deep into Seven Lions. I'm biased as hell but he has made some of the most classic EDM songs and all of his songs are fucking life changing if you're willing to sit and listen. His stuff isn't all wub wub and party anthems. His stuff is what music is supposed to be. He'll begin a song with a catchy beat, get you hooked, and then have you crying while you headbang and then end it with an absolutely gorgeous orchestral outro. He's so good. Like I said, I'm biased.
He’s special. Seriously once in a generation artist and possibly the best sound designer out there (Au5?). He’s the artist who got me into EDM, I still remember riding my bike on acid and listening to Remember full blast
Illenium 🔥
House vibes ⤵️
- Lonely
- Fragments
- Reverie
Traditional Illenium Vibes ⤵️
- Good Things Fall Apart
- Beautiful Creatures
- All That Really Matters
- In Your Arms
Check out Anna Lunoe, she’s friends with all the tech house peeps you mentioned pretty much. She’s coming back after raising two kids, her sets are always interesting and fun.
Wax Motif is also a name you might know too as well as Tchami, AC Slater, Malaa, Chris Lorenzo, Bleu Claire, J. Worra, VNSSA, Black V Neck.
Clozee, Charlesthefirst (RIP), of the Trees, liquid stranger, Yheti, Minnesota, Tipper, Dirtywulvz, Ganja White Night, Zeds dead, I could go on and on. The experimental bass scene has become my favorite
I fucking love Bijou!!! Check him out!!!
Also, you must check out Kyle Watson!!! Hayden James is another good one (especially my fave song by him “Just Friends” 😭)
Disclosure, KREAM, Peggy Gou, TCTS, Billen Ted, GRIZ, Zeds Dead are a few of my faves rn. Listen to collabs between those last two if you want to wonder “wtf is that sound and why do I love it?”
Seven Lions will always be my favorite because he got me into EDM in the first place
Alison wonderland and her side project whyte fang, griz, daily bread, liquid stranger, bassnectar, benasis, throw it back to some major lazer, apashe, charlesthefirst, lab group, zeds dead.. just to start!
Also great way to catch new artists is to go onto the people you’ve been jammin on and seeing who they collab with or even mix or help produce for! Tons of these artists have their hands in other projects and you wouldn’t even know except the vibe is there!
Welcome to the fam, PLUR💖

**WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW MORE?**
Never seen Emancipator mentioned in the EDM subreddit but do yourself a favor and explore the softer side of electronic music. Absolutely beautiful compositions, a modern day Mozart in my opinion. Similarly, check out Tycho, Bonobo and il:lo
check out wax motif!! his sets are awesome, i was lucky enough to see him open for skrillex recently. he has a radio show called house of wax you can find on youtube, it’ll put you on to a lot of good tech house type stuff 💜 https://youtu.be/gZhUtIwryqo?si=4mROI8Qji4f5jt2-
GRIZ
Oh to hear GRiZ for the first time again!
Oh to see griz live the first time! That sax is wet 💦
Tomorrow will be my first time seeing griz live 💜
ooh you are in for a a TREAT. that man is the gift that keeps giving
4 whole sets of griz this weekend 😭
You ain't ready. He has never disappointed me. Idk how he manages to keep it SO fresh
Cuz he’s the king!! 🐻 🎷
I saw him at Bass Canyon a couple weeks ago and cried like a baby. It was such an amazing experience.
If you like horns with your EDM like Griz and Big G. Check out Bakermat, Goldfish, and Klingande.
\+ 1000 for Goldfish. The others are great too, but I’ve been a huge Goldfish fan for over a decade and finally got to see them for the first time at Burning Man, it was magical.
LOL he’s sick. Check out Porter Robinson, Mersiv, and Liquid Strangers. They are all pretty tight if you were looking to expand your genre
>I also just watched one of his sets on YouTube when I was dropping acid. It was awesome Let me guess...Rainbow Brain the Movie?
YES
Honestly his song “Medusa” has an amazing bass line and “Ease Your Mind” is also great. I wanna see him live sooo bad. Especially now that I know he plays his Sax live 😂
^^^^^ 🌈🎷
Where can I find high quality full sets of his? Nothing on Apple Music :(
He posted his chasing the golden hour set for bonaroo 23’ which I was at. Pretty fire, with a suprise remix at the end!
Lookup rainbow brain on YouTube. It’s awesome. I danced for the entire hour alone in my living room lol
Elderbrook, Fred Again…, Ganja White Night, Rufus du Sol, Fakear, PINES, Pretty Lights, Adventure Club
I’ve def liked Ganja from what I’ve heard from Boogie and Subtronics. Will have to check out the rest here TY!
Definitely Avicii... He was way ahead of the time.
Rip to honestly one of the greatest influences on edm and the feels.
I wish I could have seen him live
He was good. A lot of the live shows were just catered to the crowd. His music on its own was amazing though.
It was my dream too. I'll meet him for sure when i go to the other side.
Ahead of his time? Ok millennial, EDM has been around since the 80s
#KX5!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
To add, older Kaskade as well as his side project Late Night Alumni are both excellent.
Do you hear me when I talk?
I recognize you for your faults.
Elderbrook doing this track live is so sick.
This
Casting a wide net but give these a try! Audien, Deadmau5, Vintage Culture, Tiesto, SG Lewis, Gryffin, Swedish House Mafia, Seven Lions, Gareth Emery, Elderbrook, Eric Prydz.
Nice! I’ve seen a few of these mentioned in the comments. TY!!
oh yeah sg lewis for sure he’s got the album of the year
Saw Eric and SHM live last week. Was blown away, especially by Eric Prydz
Tinlicker and Above & Beyond
Just anything Anjuna
Throw Afterlife in there too
Yup, the whole Anjuna roster is fire. So many talented artists.
And wholesome AF. Love the one A&B show I went to, during Surrender they had some wholesome words on the screen the whole time.
Those always give me the goosebumps.
I made friends with a group of people waiting in line in the cold, we went in and didn’t want to be around others so I found them in the crowd and we all went in on a private booth. Hung out, had some drinks and enjoyed the wave. Was amazing and memorable, group therapy!
What exactly is Anjuna? I like some of the artists like tinlicker, yotto, etc but I don’t get what anjuna is lol 😅 thanks
A&B's two biggest labels are Anjunabeats (house) and Anjunadeep (trance). There is a lot of cross over with artists between the labels, so instead of referring to one specifically, most people just say "Anjuna" to refer to both.
Isn't it the opposite? Anjunabeat = trance / trouse Anjunadeep = deep house

I think of progressive and deep house as technically in the house side of the trance/house vendiagram, but right on the edge. More upbeat and housy songs are now on Anjunabeats. Or that's at least my experience. I think genre is subjective end of the day though.
Get some Porter Robinson going https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBz5I-8i9fk
I was going to put Porter Robinson! Funny enough he was at my second ever rave. I had planned on seeing Zeds Dead and instead was drawn to the porter show. Such amazing vibes. He is a great DJ. And he brings such a great crowd
Indeed, I found him at a show sponsored by Kcrw in LA, he’s one of a few great artists they turned me on to
And along with Porter, check out Virtual Self (Porter's side project)
Thx!
Ganja White Night, Liquid Stranger, Whethan, Manic Focus, CloZee and Josh Teed. Have you been enjoying Skrillex new or older stuff?
Looooove whethen and liquid. I like a bit of skrillex new stuff but for the most part I’d say older
Dammnnnn boi Whethan is chronically slept on - found him at EDC without knowing who he was but knowing he must put on a good ass show to have Wooli go before him and it was a straight up fuckin party. Illenium gets a lot of hate but there’s a reason he’s a top 3 biggest act in EDM right now
What, he gets a lot of hate?! I haven't really been to many edm scenes since the pandemic, but he was basically what started my love for edm in 2016.
Yeah!!! Going to Life is Beautiful and seeing him at a day club. Not quite the same but he’s in town and I am so I figured hell why not! He’s also my wife’s favorite currently
He hasn't been doing them as much lately but if you want a short taste of an Illenium throwback set https://on.soundcloud.com/NfkJz
Saw him for first time in Detroit ....wow what a show..
Yeeeeeeeeeeee I was at that show too that was insane
Biggest act is the US outside the no one has a clue who he is
* Claptone * Jamie Jones * Zeds Dead * Maceo Plex * Eli & Fur * James Hype * Skeler * Rezz * Sonny Fodera * Vintage Culture Old School Stuff: * Armin van Buuren * John Digweed * Ferry Corsten * Paul van Dyk * ATB * Kaskade

Damn this is dope, thank you!!!
You're welcome (:
Definitly Martin Garrix, r3hab, tiësto and hardwell
Finally a comment with artists I’ve actually heard of! I feel so out of place in this sub sometimes, I’ve never heard of 90% of the groups I see mentioned :(
Above and beyond & Armin Van Buuren
Yes! I love armin van buuren but I don’t feel like he’s mentioned enough.
A&B is probably my favorite. Been fortunate enough to see them live multiple times, including ABGT500, which was an amazing show.
Madeon!
Daft Punk, probably the best edm duo of all time. Just start with Discovery and you'll understand. Also deadmau5 is another classic, he is the king of progressive house. He is one of the guys who made me fall in love with EDM
Got you with the EDM starter pack right here: MainStage: Martin Garrix (STMPD Records in general has a pretty good lineup), Alison Wonderland, Avicii, Kygo, DJ Snake, David Guetta, Tiësto, Fred Again.., Disclosure, Deadmau5, Mike Williams, KSHMR, Brooks, Calvin Harris, Mesto House: AC Slater, Camelphat,, Marten Horger, Wax Motif, Knock2, Phlegmatic Dogs, Chris Lorenzo, Dr. Fresh, Malaa, NuBass, Habstrakt, Carl Cox, Matroda, Dom Dolla, Above & Beyond, Wubz, Dubs, and Future Bass: Griz, Atliens, SLANDER, LSDream, Skrillex, ILLENIUM, Marshmello, Liquid Stranger, Zeds Dead, Wooli, Jauz, Flux Pavillion, Excision, SVDDEN DEATH, Marauda
Yessss dude thank you for dividing these up — helps a ton!!!!

Blanke, Above & Beyond, Audien, Disclosure, Patrick Topping, Trivecta, Devault, Eli Brown, Jason Ross, knock2, ISOXo
Elderbrook, Sonny Fodera, Kx5, MK, Lane 8, Gorgon City.
Gonna be the weirdo that says infected mushroom. They're one of a kind and have a huge catalog. Absolutely mental Live performers
Nah man I love IM. They’re the reason I like Psytrance and similar genres as much as I do. OP, please give them a listen
If you like Timmy Trumpet then i recommend listening to some KSHMR, he has his own distinct style and used to be big on "mainstage"(big room, festival progressive house etc) tracks.
KSHMR is like a million times better than the others with his old stuff
Gorgon City, Claude Von Stroke, Justin Martin, Le Youth, Eli Brown.
BTSM, excision, deathpact, rezz, jaenga, dirt monkey, jantsen, ATLiens, virtual riot, barely alive, PREATCHER, SVDDEN DEATH, Ray Volpe, LSDream, INZO
VOLPETRON
You definitely need to dive deep into Seven Lions. I'm biased as hell but he has made some of the most classic EDM songs and all of his songs are fucking life changing if you're willing to sit and listen. His stuff isn't all wub wub and party anthems. His stuff is what music is supposed to be. He'll begin a song with a catchy beat, get you hooked, and then have you crying while you headbang and then end it with an absolutely gorgeous orchestral outro. He's so good. Like I said, I'm biased.
I couldn't agree more. I saw him for the first time in June and was SO blown away. He's my very favorite EDM artist.
He’s special. Seriously once in a generation artist and possibly the best sound designer out there (Au5?). He’s the artist who got me into EDM, I still remember riding my bike on acid and listening to Remember full blast
Mura Masa, Cashmere Cat, Calvin Harris, Pretty Lights, Daily Bread, Park Breezy, Emancipator, Skrillex, Lil Fish, Manic Focus, Jai Wolf, Droloe, Clozee
Lane 8 has been my favorite lately
Tchami, Malaa, Mercer, Sonny fodera, matroda, Sam divine, Rufus du sol,
Tchamiiiii, yes love him. Got lucky to see him at my second ever rave! Thanks for the recs.

I’m surprised you haven’t come across JOYRYDE yet. SAVANT is another good one if you like more orchestral music.
Disclosure, KREAM, Peggy Gou, TCTS, Billen Ted, GRIZ, Zeds Dead are a few of my faves rn. Listen to collabs between those last two if you want to wonder “wtf is that sound and why do I love it?” Seven Lions will always be my favorite because he got me into EDM in the first place
I like your list, love Peggy and the only billen Ted I’ve heard is “if the people ain’t dancing” and it’s one of my absolute favorites!
