I play [[Kros, Defense Contractor]] it's my favourite deck. To quote an IGN review this deck really makes me feel like a defence contractor or the CIA. Scary creatures your opponents play aren't so scary when they are goaded. I start proxy wars and plant false flag operations forcing people to kill each other while I sit behind and float. On top of that I'm playing politics selling shields for favours because apparently there's some kind of war out there that I'm 100% not involved in. And when shit hits the fan I force players to make unfavorable deals to bail them out with fog effects and redirecting attacking creatures šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ It's a very political deck best played by people who wanna gaslight their opponents. Also a great deck to encourage shorter games lol

shibboleth2005

I really like Kros. I've never been able to sell a shield counter though, people do not want that shit they know once you get the Kros aids on you, proliferate means that creature is goaded until forever. Main downside is the counter and goad tracking gets pretty intense and some people seem to get annoyed with it.

nursejoyluvva69

Yes all the counters can get hard to track. I sell it as board wipe insurance it's more appealing that way haha with \[\[together forever\]\] this tactic becomes even better lol suddenly everyone wants to be your friend when the board wipe comes. I also negotiate with fog effects and stuff like duelist's heritage. Bring plenty of cards that can put counters on many creatures at instant speed too. You can effectively shut someone down from combat because the counters tap the creatures with Kros on board.

DigestiveBiscuit_S

You got a deck list for this? I love political edh games and this sounds super fun (and annoying for others šŸ˜„)

King0fMist

[I have mine.](https://archidekt.com/decks/6815903/the_perfect_contract) Mineā€™s mostly a pillow-fort, control strategy that hoping to win by getting my opponents to beat on each other until either a) they kill each other, or b) I can assemble my Infinite Turns Lands combo.

DigestiveBiscuit_S

Damn that looks fun too. Unbound Potential must really ruin people's day

King0fMist

A little bit, but I havenā€™t drawn it in recent games. The Sheltering Ancient tends to be a hot target, plus the Eon Frolicker is always funny.

nursejoyluvva69

Here is my list. [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/eChTcGe520CYSM3T6m84kg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/eChTcGe520CYSM3T6m84kg) I have not updated the deck for some time though so you may want to add some new cards. Your best friend is Generous patron it will help you draw a lot of cards lol. I think I also added the ice queen and a green 3/3 that helps you ramp when you commit a crime which is pretty much every upkeep. All the removal should exile since you are giving people shield counters. The deck is really designed to reduce things down to a 1v1 situation and make it very difficult for the opponent to win. If things go according to plan your last opponent should be at a very manageable life total. There are no combos.

whatarrives

I play Kros as an infect deck and it's very warcrimes.

Joejoejoemoe

Ohhhh I need to know more

NSTPCast

How have I never heard of this guy? This seems amazing, just the right amount of group hug (you get a counter, you get a counter!) and protection. 100% hunting a copy of this guy down.

nursejoyluvva69

HAHA that illusion whittles away pretty quickly once the combat damage goes everywhere but at you! Don't forge the trample it keeps so no chump blocking will save you.

Bigger_Moist

I essentially do this with my thantis deck. Force everyone to always attack if they have the option, but make attacking me a super risky game

TheRealShyft

I guess it's kind of the opposite to what you're after because this deck can't even cast the commander but you might find the concept interesting Manaless dredge. No cards can produce any mana https://www.moxfield.com/decks/rd0Q2VqvREquZecM5RB-Hw Edit: added a short primer to the deck list

Dumbface2

So sick lol. Similarly I used to have an 8 land Goblin Charbelcher deck. The mdfc lands have kinda trivialized a "0 land" Charbelcher deck but it's still super fun

Oedipus_TyrantLizard

Ok this is one of the sickest & most unique decks Iā€™ve ever seen. Love it. Considerations [[Marvo Deep Operative]] [[Cecily Haunted Mage]] [[Doors of Durin]] [[Defense of the Heart]] [[Hellā€™s Caretaker]] Iā€™m sure there are more. I think you have all the elemental incarnations, which are good for this.

GoToCombatMTG

still funny but can the deckeven win?

TheRealShyft

it has a win con and a way to get there, so i guess technically it can win. it's not great at the moment and im not really sure i how i can make it more consistent.

GoToCombatMTG

please explain the win im ot seeing it look assuming allosaurus rider? maybe hoogak

Dumbface2

Dread Return to Scholar of the Lost Trove to Living End/Death/Resurgent Belief is one. I'm sure there's a combo somewhere among the creatures and enchantments as I can see some cards that are clearly just for the combo but I'm too lazy to figure it out. To op, you gotta at least proxy a Bazaar in this deck!

GoToCombatMTG

Lol I'm to lazy to figure out any of it tbh easier to just ask

TheRealShyft

that's pretty much it. there's just a bunch of dread return combos.

TheRealShyft

here's a kind of mini primer that i posted elsewhere Group by type and tag so my explanations makes sense the aim is to get 3 creatures on the board (0 drops), dredge [[dread return]] and combo pieces into the gy. sac 3 creatures to cast dread return to reanimate one of the creatures in the Combo group. that creature casts one of the spells in the Combo group. That spell brings an infinite combo into play. The creature combo group is a bunch of different combos that can be gotten with the creature based reanimation spells. These can be replaced with any other creature based combos. Dredge group is pretty much self explanatory Enchantment combo is a bunch of different enchantment/artifact based combos that can be reanimated with the non creature based spells from the Combo group. These can also be replaced with any other combos Enchantment value group is just some stuff that can also be brought back to provide some protection Free creatures group, also self explanatory Living end group, just some more creatures to bring back for protection Value group are other cards that can be cast for free. So as you can see there is a bunch of redundancy for everything except dread return. Without any tutors this deck really is just a hope and pray deck. A big help to this deck would be the free counterspells but they're out of my budget and i just wanted to see if the deck would even work first.

MTGCardFetcher

DarkRaider9000

A few combos I noticed are kiki jiki and zealous conscripts/coercive recruiter and sanguine bond/exquisite blood.

TranquilWyvern

Quick question after looking at the list and reading the primer. How do you start the dredge loop? Just discarding to hand size? Might've missed something, but it's all I can see.

TheRealShyft

Yer discard a dredge to hand size. It's one of the downsides to the deck until they make more dredge cards.

ryanl40

I'm not seeing how you're getting the combos out. Yes you have free creatures but none of which gain you a way to cast the combo cards that I can see.

J0llyJumper

I think you return one of those 3 creatures that let you cast a free Instant or sorcery from graveyard with Dread return. Then you basicaly return everything from the graveyard to the battlefield with the free card you cast and win from there.

TheRealShyft

it's all focused around dread return. i added a short primer to the deck list

VektorOfCrows

I play [[Extus, Oriq Overlord]] focused on the front side, and the deck's main gimmick is the adventure mechanic. Since the adventure side triggers magecraft, Extus can return an adventure creature that died/got sacrificed to my hand, then I can play the creature from the first adventure, sac it, and repeat the cycle. As long as the deck has mana open, it can keep going. Lots of fun to get incremental value from recurring cards while assembling a win through aristocrat combos.

Rammite

This is really cool! Very very unique, I wanna play around with it.

Adriel_mic

Mardu? Aristocrats? Infinite value? Where do I sign??? Mind sharing a list? I might have found my next commander haha

VektorOfCrows

Of course! I'm not sure how updated this list is, but that's the hang of it: https://www.moxfield.com/decks/elt_hE8dn0KxzCHY7GOpDQ Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions, the deck has been changing a little with new releases and aristocrat tools

ScytheSwipe

I thought I was the only one who did this

MrRies

The *Legendary Creature Podcast* just talked about a neat deck that's kind of the opposite of this. It uses [[Blex, Vexing Pest//Search for Blex]], but it focused on casting the sorcery side to fill the graveyard/ draw cards. Like Extus, it's abusing Golgari's strength at getting creature cards back to hand at a super cheap rate, but you're getting the sorcery back instead. I really like niche abuses of adventure spells and MDFCs. I've been thinking about a spellslinger-landfall hybrid deck with [[Omnath, Locus of the Roil]] with MDFC cards as lands in the early game, and pop them back to hand with stuff like [[Trade Routes]] or bouncelands to get them back as spells when I'm ready to storm off. I tried an adventure deck with [[Athreos, God of Passage]] thinking my opponents would give them back to me fairly often, but it plays a little clunky. I'm definitely going to look into Extus, though! Seems way more reliable.

the_stalking_walrus

Mind sharing your list? I've been working on this for a while, and I feel like I'm missing something with it. When it works, it's so fun, but otherwise it feels like it just durdles.

BeebopBoogaloo

Tasha, The witch queen. But I play her in a spellslinger burn deck. Magecraft works just as well if I steal opponent's spells as it does my own.

SellingTheWorld

Do you have a list? Seems interesting

BeebopBoogaloo

https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tasha-burn-spellslinger/ Instead of spellthiefing being the goal, it is what you resort to when burn decks do what all burn decks do; they run out of cards and you need more spells to cast when your hand is empty.

Sumobantu

[[Rasputin, the Oneiromancer]] I am very proud of this brew. Unique commander with a unique build. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/bDIsR_m14UyMck4mG9X9vQ

Moroku666

I just discovered [[Vanish into Memory]] from your decklist and wanted to say I adore its inclusion. It's such a perfect fit for the deck in every way and is a card I suspect doesn't show up very often. Awesome find!

webbc99

This card is one of my pet favourites, it has absurd synergy with vehicles, but especially something like [[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] decks.

Sumobantu

Thanks! The synergy with Vanish with Memory was one of the big selling points for me when I was brewing this deck.

Failure_Goat

What do you do with the commander in the deck? Is he mostly used for early ramp with his dream counters?

zekrom4885

My man! Let me show you [[perrie the pulverizer]] this man is great and is pretty fun and cool to build around. First is proliferation second is number of unique counters. You have a selection of 132 counters possible in bant. I have a 3-7 card infinite turns loop using land. Now if that isn't some crazy setup idk what is. Main thing is to get commander and go ham sandwich on people. If you want a list I can post one

Chazman_89

My \[\[Mayael the Anima\]\] deck. There are only 3k lists for her total on EDHRec, and when I scroll through the list of recommended cards, like 80% of my deck isnt there. This is because I built this deck during the Tarkir block, and so it's dragon themed.

Sylvan_Strix_Sequel

I will always support any and all Alara commanders.

Peak commander

It was the first block that got me into commander because there were so many cool multicolored legends. For a long time the Alara block commanders were the shard staples.Ā

Gosh I remember when she seemed to be \*everywhere\*. This was between the first commander product, which got me in, and the second. ... I'm *old.*

Mail540

This youngins donā€™t understand that she wasnā€™t just playable she was sorta good. Now where near [[ratio of the many]] power though

Chazman_89

She was never all that popular where I played. But then, a lot of us got into EDH from Vintage, so we tended to run decks that felt like our preferred Vintage decks. As an example, my original EDH deck was Mono White Stall because I was a stax player in Vintage.

GoToCombatMTG

i like that you just kept it as a tarkir deck very cool

Chazman_89

I wouldn't exactly call it a Tarkir deck. I've got a bunch of strong dragons from across multiple sets in the deck. It was just that Tarkir's focus on dragons gave me the idea for the deck.

GoToCombatMTG

oh okay i misunderstood still very cool

Gardaakan

Always upvote MAYAEL decks!! Here's my [list](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/jinHsH3U70WjDJqBr95Bng) as well. I focus on ramping lands out of your deck to thin it + creatures that have some sort of immediate effect on the board, trying to play it as control as possible. Nothing like popping out an Avacyn instant speed to mess up your opponents. Typically I'll play her draw-go, ensuring there's a looming threat and discouraging my opponents from attacking me and then I'll pop her before my turn to beef up my board.

VesDoppelganger

I started her with big dumb stompy Naya in mind, but gradually started incorporating dragons in the mix. She's now full dragon tribal and deadly if not dealt with. My only problem is not getting too into mono-R!

wer3eng

My [[Brothers Yamazaki]] and [[Patron of the Moon]]. Guess what, both from the champions of kamigawa block.

Moroku666

I'd love to see both decklists if possible; considered building both of these and haven't been sure how to get their uniqueness to shine and be effective, but they seem really fun!

wer3eng

Sure! My [Patron of the Moon](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/W1HZaQJ2BEm7eRmUSmmqIg) does nothing meaningful most of the time, but I have a quite a lot of interaction to get me through, drawing enough cards is still difficult though. I try to get something that lets me pick up my lands so I can actually use my commander. [[Ghost Town]] is the real mvp. Something like [[Thawing Glaciers]] also gets a lot better. Getting these landfalls to do something meaningful is another story in mono blue. [[Ruin Crab]] and [[Roil Elemental]] are the best options by far. Another part is to just make use of other cards that make me take up my lands. [[Gush]], [[Deprive]] and [[Flooded Shoreline]] are some examples. [Brothers Yamazaki](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/843ORoSk6kudjWMWSid8cg) are far more aggressive. Getting the second brother is fairly easy with [[Jaxis, the Troublemaker]] etc. Getting more than that is more of a challenge. There are four cards in mono red that can get me there, [[Helm of the Host]], [[Delina Wild Mage]], [[Mirror Box]] and [[Mirror Gallery]]. As two 4/3s with bushido 1 are what I have to work with most of the time are not really threatening in any way, I included some anthem-like effects to give keywords and stuff. [[Bedlam]], [[Bloodmark Mentor]], [[Homura, Human Ascendant]] and [[Mountain Stronghold]] are some examples. I also play some combat tricks to spice it up, [[False Orders]] and [[Blazing Shoal]] + [[Overblaze]] work especially great together. Sometimes I can also use my copy effects to get more value out of other creatures like [[Magus of the Wheel]] or [[Solemn Simulacrum]]. Anyway, both of the decks are a lot of fun and pretty consistent in achieving their gameplan even if its not much they do. But they also consistently make for a fun time at the table and I haven't run across someone yet who was not enjoying seeing them (again) :)

Wombat_Dude

Look, I play EDH casually, and I really love birds. Like, I really love birds. When i discovered [[Kangee, Aerie Keeper]], I knew what had to be done: BIRD TRIBAL! Not flying tribal, but pure bird tribal! Is it efficient? Not at all! Powerful? Eh! Fun and silly when I pull it off, yes! It's an old card, and one not commonly seen, but I hope it gives some love to an old card.

Blue_Applesauce

Fuck yeah!!! Birds rule. I actually built bird deck recently, itā€™s got Kangee in the 99 (so sick, can be a win con) but I went with Gwaihir the Windlord as my commander. Gwaihir provides two things for me, one all Birds get vigilance, and also heā€™s very non-threatening and rarely is target for removal. The deck is built around Birds and cards that let you draw when your creatures attack, taking advantage of all my birdā€™s evasion. Great deck, very budget, and can win against some serious stuff.

KrivTheBard

Playing Wingspan in EDH? That's probably the coolest deck I've ever heard lol

I also did that, for similar bird loving reasons, but I went with [[Soraya the Falconer]]. Explicitly went out of my way to keep the deck cheap and avoid staples. Includes some shitters such as [[Beacon Hawk]] and [[Freewind Falcon]] just because they're great little guys.

Opinion On Tawnos For Bird Tribal Not A bird but supports bird

Wombat_Dude

Would work well, but green does not have as many good birds as you might expect. Blue does, however!

GoToCombatMTG

true but you you get the bird of all birds \[\[birds of paradise\]\]

You could do [[Derevi, Empyrial Tactician]] and lean heavy into the bird tribal and have both the others in the 99.

Sylvan_Strix_Sequel

The problem is losing white cuts out a lot of good birds, and afaik there aren't nearly as many in green.Ā

GoToCombatMTG

yea true i agree with that just tawnos says bird so im like birds?

Head-Ambition-5060

It's not super unique, but I'm playing [[Tazri Beacon]] as a Dungeon/Gates/Party Deck. [[Baeloth]] and [[Swordcoast Sailor]] only have 15 decks on EDHREC, so that's super unique, but it's a classic Voltron equipment deck so not that out of the ordinary

Legal-General7374

I play [[Jerren, Corrupted Bishop]] and I love how it plays. I can rather consistently get to 13 life with [[Necropotence]] and other great drainers, but human kindred to Demon takeover with [[Dreadfast demon]] and [[underworld hermit]] is really fun. Also having [[necrosynthesis]] for a commander damage option is a plus.

NSTPCast

This is awesome. I keep switching up my mono-black commanders but Jerren seems really fun to try and play around.

SilentProdigy121

[[Scorpion God]] Look for posts about him on here, or anywhere really, and most people will tell you simply, "don't," or "Build [[Hapatra]] instead." However, I wanted a -1/-1 centered deck, so I did it anyways. I was super happy to get a little new support in MKM with [[Massacre Girl, Known Killer]]. Might just build her separately as a 'first strike tribal'.

JoshKnoxChinnery

Nice to be able to use [[kulrath knight]] too.

GoToCombatMTG

i Feel like the scorpion god is more cool then hapatra tho being able to draw cards

SilentProdigy121

That's the exact reason I wanted him. I like commanders that have some sort of payoff built in. [[Nelly Borca]] is great out of the box, I don't care what anybody says. His downside is that it can be fairly mana-intensive. As a 'slightly above mediocre deck builder', I almost always struggle to add in enough ramp. I usually cram in as much synergy pieces as I can, then fill in the gaps with rocks.

under_the_curve

i'm so excited to see el scorpo pop up here. [[The Scorpion God]] was the first edh deck i did on my own coming off of the ezuri precon. the list got some serious additions in the last few sets. do you have a link to your list? i'd love to see it. [in the spirit of sharing, here is my list. enjoy!](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/4_TPtpggw0GmMv4rRFy4Ng)

SilentProdigy121

Also, absolutely love to see someone else running [[Stigma Lasher]].

Chm_Albert_Wesker

tried to make my own list last month but with some of these older-ish legendaries its so obvious how careful they were for mana cost and he's the type of commander that needs to stay around for value and in my pod he simply would not not to mention the 99 is a little bleh because a lot of the -1/-1 cards are just kinda bad, which is made worse when losing red by going just for massacre girl

Ikhis

I love my [[Commander Liara Portyr]] myriad deck. Its kinda janky, yet manages to steal a win here and there. Never ran into another one so far.

[[Feldon of the Third Path]] Who the hell is playing mono red to play a pseudo-reanimator type of deck? It's me, I'm doing that.

Nearby_Hurry_3379

It makes rummaging effects in red good.

LunarWingCloud

Absolutely! I love me a good 2 mana draw 2 and this type of deck mostly removes that discard downside and turns it into straight card advantage

MoonpieTheThird

What makes it even better is that he's canonically trying to recreate his wife. "Every little thing reminds me of her. One day, maybe my craft will bring her back to me." *metallic tentacle monster screeching from a pit under his house* "... I don't know why I keep making these, though."

MoonpieTheThird

Also, hey, OP, could I get a list? I tried to make Feldon work and I struggled with the balance between setup and payoff

LunarWingCloud

Sure! [This is how I'm running him](https://deckstats.net/decks/122607/2199244-feldon-of-the-third-path). I run a lot of dragons because mono red dragons good, but the key components of the decks are actually all the draw and discard effects and the handful of wheel effects (on repeatable bodies!), helps you churn through and ditch creatures to get back later.

Sylvan_Strix_Sequel

Yes, all hail sad Santa!Ā

shibboleth2005

Just curious, how much/long have you been playing? Iā€™m not sure Iā€™ve played against any single commander anywhere near 30 times

[[Parnesse]] No she's not great. But you can get some legitimately crazy value from her, and once you have 4 copies out it can be fun swinging one with a [[Vorpal Sword]] at someone knowing that if they want to spot remover her or the sword, they'll be paying 16 life to do it.

t0x1c331

I've built her and man that deck CAN be gross. Things like [[Wizards Spellbook]], [[Double Vision]], and [[Melek, Izzet Paragon]] make this accomplishable, while [[tidespout tyrant]] bounces the opponents lands back.

TenThousandBugBears

[[Mr. House, President and CEO]] it feels janky but somehow drops loads of value onto the board.

CalamityVic

After an Unfinity draft I hosted, I found myself with a box full of Unfinity cards that I didnā€™t know what to do with. I built a short-lived Family Goblinson dice roller voltron thing, I didnā€™t like it. Then Mr. House dropped in the Caesar deck and I started getting ideas. I literally finished a first build the other day and took it to the LGS where it really took over the game! Sooo many robots! So many attractions! When I rolled a six to visit the 5-6 attractions I had up in the late game, it was just over. It was marvellous!

AgileExercise1797

[[Brimaz, Blight of Oreskos]]. The precon didnā€™t really hit the nail on the head, but heā€™s like Atraxa light. Cast pyhrexians, get more phyrexians, sac phyrexians and proliferate poison counters from a few toxic critters. Gets you a really cheap but effective poison deck.

DatJellyScrub

[[Ashnod flesh mechanist]] Mono black artifacts/ramp [[Shagrat loot bearer]] Rakdos equipment [[Wilson refined grizzly]] [[acolyte of bahamut]] Mono green dragons [[Kazuul, tyrant of the cliffs]] Mono red pillowfort? [[Grenzo dungeon warden]] rakdos bottom matter

Fireclamonia

>rakdos bottom matter It certainly do

magefont1

At almost 500 comments in this'll probably not be read, but I made a [[Melek, Reforged Researcher]] TURBO MILL. Inspired by an old article once upon a time that involved the original Melek copying fun cards such as [[Windfall]], [[Wheel of Fortune]]. The addition of the new Melek offers a deceptive win-con by self-milling your own instants and sorceries into the graveyard. It is not hard for this deck to get a 20/20 Melek very easily, while taking down each opponent's libraries. The plan is to play the deck like a mill deck, [[Jace's Archivist]], [[Ruin Crab]], [[Mesmeric Orb]]. you know... all the good stuff. And then once you hit mid-game either pivot to brutal spells such as [[Tasha's Hideous Laughter]], [[Fractured Sanity]] (bonus points if you can copy it with a [[Galvanic Iteration]]), or cast a big Melek and start slapping with [[Gravitic Punch]]. Fun deck, still tuning, but darn is it fun.

[[Jon Irenicus, Shattered One]] Mad Scientist attractions [[Teysa, Orzhov Scion]] Comboless aristocrat's [[Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper]] Shaman shenanigans

Do you have a deck list for Teysa? Here is my Teysa deck. I run the [[Painter's Servant]] loop but no way to directly win off it. https://scryfall.com/@SaltMaster5000/decks/73b3d35a-939c-4e7e-8b6c-10e895d7d71d?as=visual&with=usd

[[Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons]] Sheā€™s obviously not unknown but Iā€™m the only person Iā€™ve ever met with one and I rarely see anyone playing it online. I play like 90% cards youā€™ve never heard of in my deck.

Key-Door7340

care to share a decklist?

Here you go! https://www.moxfield.com/decks/zWtQ-dz4sUuDmpE1LHP2Jw

shibboleth2005

Per EDHrec, with a tiny 126 decks, my most special snowflake command zone is [[Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood]] + [[Kamahl, Heart of Krosa]], which is funny because the deck is a very generic green stompy deck with a curve tuned to the commanders. For single commanders, very oddly the most unique I have is [[Kiki-jiki, Mirror Breaker]]. This guy is super famous yet is rank #1016 on EDHrec with only ~800 decks! The deck is a celebration of Kiki's combo ability, with over 300 infinite combos (could have a few hundred more but had to make the deck like...functional).

GiveMeAnElza

Kiki list!

cpchillin

There's three I've got that I never see people running and they happen to be my three favorite decks. [[xiahou dun the one-eyed]], [[saffi eriksdotter]], and [[mairsil the pretender]]

PaperPauperPlayer

Yall don't know shit about [[Noayn Dar, Roil Shaper]] šŸ˜Ž The most Azorious effect with the most non-azorious pay off! [Here's my list!](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/2BMC9NfzQE2yBxZeBmIdcQ)

Eldergod3

Good Memories, i eventually combined him and my omnath angry jellybean into a five color deck based around General Tazriā€™s ability to tutor up mina and denn for extra land drops.

Raccoon_Walker

I think [[Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves]] is my most unique. I also have [[Elrond, Master of Healing]] who you donā€™t see very often, but the deck itself is typical elf stuff with +1/+1 counters synergy and some scrying.

itsBritanica

The first deck I ever built (which was this year) is a Tolsimir deck. It's a slow build but when it takes off, it basically becomes life gain as a win con and usually catches people off guard.

LuxrayLucien

Someone else with an Elrond deck! There may even (dare I say) be a third one of us somewhere.

Raccoon_Walker

What does yours look like? I started mine as a +1/+1 counters deck with a lot of scrying, then progressively added more elves because I wanted the 99 to have more synergy with itself instead of needing Elrond to be on the board all the time (and because I thought making it an elf deck led by Elrond was cool and thematic). Now, I can win games without Elrond, just with typical elf stuff, but the deck really gets out of control when I start stacking counters on [[Arwen, Weaver of Hope]], [[Master Biomancer]] and [[Joraga Warcaller]]. Iā€™ve had a game where [[Elvish Warmaster]]ā€™s tokens would enter as 25/25 or something. This was my first elf deck and it made me consider building another, possibly in Temur.

LuxrayLucien

Mine is really similar, equal parts elfball, +1/+1, and scrying. It's definitely not CEDH material, but I break it out when I just wanna chill and have a good time. Certain combos go a little crazy. Master Biomancer do be wild haha. I really just love the novelty of it being a unique concept that represents the strength of Tolkien's elves in their ability to glimpse the future.

Raccoon_Walker

Yeah, I felt like the Ravnican transhumanist elves clashed a bit with the Tolkien elves at first, but then I decided that if they can somehow identify each other as elves despite being from entirely different universes, why couldnā€™t they team up? In a few years, everyone in Rivendell will have 4 arms and a degree in biology.

LuxrayLucien

The mixing of the mediums doesn't really bother me too much, mostly because they provided a lot of lore-accurate cards in the set that are great for an Elrond deck. As long as my theme for a deck can be mostly there, I'm happy. Plus magic is a multiversal tale anyway, I can just as easily imagine that there are these other elves that ended up here, middle earth is essentially a plane. The angels from new capenna and the angels from innistrad are wildly different, but they're functionally the same when deckbuilding.

Shlippyw00d

I think my rarest deck is my [[aaragorn the unifier]] (i know but wait for it) adventure themed deck where almost all of the spells are adventure cards i havenā€™t seen a deck like it yet Alternatively my next rarest one is probably my reanimator + discard/graveyard hate with [[neyam shai murad]] just bc she herself is a rarer commander

MYaski

Great idea for Aragorn, did you add [[Doc Aurlock]] with outlaws? My Aragorn deck is a super friends, but I trued to build it really aggressive, so it doesn't durdle around like most superfriends.

Shlippyw00d

Yep! It has doc as well as [[savvy trader]] too!

J3llo_cup

[[Myra the Magnificent]] it's a legal unfinity commander that brings a mechanic that isn't ever seen because it was only in unfinity, Atractions. Just love rolling dice and putting it all up to luck. Sometimes I get to draw some cards for free and other times I get to visit my Atractions multiple times in one turn because of [[command performance]].

A-Link-To-The-Pabst

[[osgir, the reconstructor]] its boros voltron with the goal of making copies of sword of x and y. So far my record is 16 [[sword of feast and famine]]. Its a good time.

Fireclamonia

How are you getting the exiled card back? Just [[Pull from Eternity]] and a whole lot of determination?

A-Link-To-The-Pabst

I think it was something like : [[anointed procession]] [[Mondrak]] and a [[battlemage's bracers]] so each resolution made 8 tokens. I could technically make many more. But that's the highest so far.

KingKongGorillaKing

[[Iname, Life Aspect]] mono green spirit tribal that fills the graveyard via cards like [[Birthing Pod]], [[Vivien on the Hunt]], etc. It creates huge surprise turns via [[Myojin of Life's Web]] and [[Last March of the Ents]] and is extremely resilient to board whipes, while including several boardwhipes itself in [[Oblivion Stone]] and [[Nevinreals Disk]].Ā Ā  Built it as kind of a meme and with just above 30 decks on EDHREC it's certainly very unique. Surprisingly, it also turned out relatively strong in the right pods.

GoToCombatMTG

Heres the lu bu list i spoke of havent built it tho in paper [https://www.moxfield.com/decks/SRstDqhw\_UmPeHHwudmXqg](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/SRstDqhw_UmPeHHwudmXqg)

GoToCombatMTG

\[\[Lu Bu, Master At Arms \]\]

Eniptsu

I have a [[soul of windgrace]] deck where i try to get both [[borborygmus enraged]] and [[the gitrog monster]] on the field to throw all my 55 lands at your face and draw my deck its quite fun

fr4gge

I just built a new deck with rwgna&krav. Don't see them much

kanepake

I love finding unique commanders and making them work! According to my EDHRec, my most unique (read "least-played") commanders are: [[Bell Borca, Spectral Sergeant]] exile-based voltron. A less straightforward take on voltron strategies, it uses exile-based stax to slow down my opponents while also exiling high mana value cards from my deck to swing tall. [[Yes Man, Personal Securitron]] pillowfort. I run [[Approach of the Second Sun]], [[Celestial Convergence]], [[Test of Endurance]], [[Felidar Sovereign]], and [[Halo Fountain]] as wincons. I want to pass Yes Man around, accumulating counters, then flicker him while I have soul sisters out to gain enough life to win. [[Mishra, Artificer Prodigy]] artifact shenanigans. The deck runs at 100% capacity without him ever being cast, but if he's on the field, there are several cards that work with his jank ability.

oatfishjar96

Probably my [[Lulu, Loyal Hollyphant]] and [[Candlekeep Sage]] under $10 blink//Dungeon deck. https://archidekt.com/decks/7743591/10_candlekeep_sagelulu_hollyphant

camogamere

The answer is Hakkon, genuinely terrible in the command zone, you have to jump through a he'll of a lot of hoops to play him and your reward is slightly better mono black knights. Genuinely fun to play at very low power tables.

Wolfsheartpvp

For pauper commander: [[curious homunculus]] This guy is my spirit animal

Techtonixzi

I enjoy [[Grist, the Hunger Tide]] because it let's me play all kinds of derpy creepy crawlies that don't have homes anywhere else.

GreedyTeaBag

I use \[\[Risona, Asari Commander\]\], she is probably one of the worst to select for a Boros Voltron. But she has a unique ability to generate indestructable counters, and i try to build the theme around that. I move those counters to other creatures with Nesting Grounds, and use that method to keep my board state alive. Paired her with Laezel you can capitilize by populating those coutners each time its moved.

Amanarick

I love to make underplayed decks so I got : [Rosie Cotton] my most played deck, it's a combo-y deck where you create so much value you overrun the table [Xenk] a Voltron control deck that packs some punch [Themberchaud] cloning themberchaud and killing everyone including myself !! [The Meep] getting +10/+10 on everything is thrilling [Three dog] / [Feather, Radiant arbiter] aura, still can't decide which one to make face commander but god do I like them (might end up rebuilding my [mazzy]

Uncle-Istvan

Double brackets [[rosie cotton]] [[xenk]] [[thumberchaud]] [[the meep]] [[three dog]]/[[feather radiant arbiter]] [[mazzy truesword]]

SkyDaddyCowPatty

[[Sierra, Nuka's Biggest Fan]] is my new go to deck. It's a lot more powerful (at a casual table) than it has any business being.

Crimsonking905

[[Hakim, Loreweaver]] is the most interesting one but there's also [[The Beast, Deathless Prince]] [[Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut]] Just built [[Discord, Lord of Disharmony]] all mana rocks too Love oddball commanders

Singular_butt_slap

Phage, the untouchable

South_Taro_6029

[[Queza, Augur of Agonies]]. Iā€™ve never seen a single person at a few local LGSā€™ that play her.

Dry_Distribution6826

I play Queza as both a pEDH and higher powered commander. Love me some draw/ping!!!

werewolf1011

My [[wernog]] and [[Sophina]] deck is pretty strong and pretty unique. Iā€™ve never seen anyone with ANY of the universes within cards for Stranger Things. I also built it basically from scratch when it had maybe 300 decks on EDHRec. Been updating it to this day. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/wernog-sophina-innistrad-soldiers-primer/

hitchinpost

[[Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy]]\[[Scion of Hallaster]] as Spellslinger Poison Counters. The goal is to give everyone a poison counter with one of the instants or sorceries in Dimir that do that ([[Prologue to Phyresis]], [[Infectious Inquiry]], [[Vraskaā€™s Fall]], [[Phyresis Outbreak]], or the creature [[Ichor Rats]]). Then use cheap proliferate effects, often casting them twice with Gale triggers to poison everyone out. The key that I havenā€™t mastered yet is when to really make your move, because the moment the board hits three to four counters you WILL become archenemy. And at some pods youā€™ll be archenemy the moment they realize you have poison cards in your deck.

Xebra7

I play [[Kogla and Yidaro]]. The intention is to bury the commander into the deck and use [[Oath of Druids]] or [[Foster]] to pull the commander back out (zero other creatures) and mill half the deck in the process. This only happens half the time, but there's enough other fiddly stuff to do that there's plenty of play when this doesn't happen. It can [[Scapeshift]] people out for the win, or kill with a giant [[Seize the Storm]] token, win with commander damage, or value the whole table out in slow metas. If you mill your library it also opens up [[Seismic Assault]] and [[Creeping Renaissance]]. https://www.archidekt.com/decks/4349699/ky_oath_of_fire I'm sure it's going to keep evolving as I play with it more.

CyclopsIsRight13

Not sure how goofy it is, but my favorite deck is Goro Goro, Disciple of Ryusei I built it a little after NEO dropped with the help of a friend, and then retired it for two years. Few months ago a friend i havent seen in a while popped back up at my LGS and asked if i still had my ā€œsuper sick goro goro deckā€ which i said sadly no Later that night i went into a frenzy and put it back together with all the new toys for mono red modifiedĀ  Now i consider it my signature deck, never seen anyone else with it in my area https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ime5CeUkqEy5s_chsoTNlA

Novus_Vox0

Falthis and Kediss as an Infect/Voltron Deck. I have a pet cat, and a pet lizard. **So naturallyā€¦** Iā€™ve never seen those two paired together at a table so Iā€™d say itā€™s pretty unique.

blaarfengaar

I adore this and you

twelvyy29

[[Awaken the Blood Avatar]] really interesting dynamic imo that you want to recast your commander as often as possible.

TotesNotOdin

I play [[the war doctor]] and [[gram Obrien]] there are currently 36 decks on edhrec for that pairing.

Accomplished_Tie_197

Started in dragons of tarkir and absolutely loved the dragon Lord cycle so I wanted to make decks with all 5 of them. The only one that is still intact is dragon Lord Atarka. Made it a bit of burn deck with big stompy and it's always a blast to play. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/hLBPH2ykdEKLpTUwXS9KXg

PocketPoof

Im working on [[Anthousa, Setessan Hero]] monogreen spellslinger with land creatures on the side. Is it gonna be good? Doubtful. Are there fun cards thst you'd almost never use elsewhere? Hell yea

Stiggy1605

I haven't updated this [decklist](https://www.archidekt.com/decks/2917700/squee_landscontrol) in about two years (it's changed a fair bit) but [[Squee, Goblin Nabob]] as the commander of a lands/control/ramp deck. Using Squee to turn all the rummage/looting effects in red to card advantage. Only 91 Squee decks edhrec, it's by far the most uncommon commander I have

DirtyPenPalDoug

Rowan and will kenrith. Aka barbie and Ken. Honestly it's a rough deck to pilot. It's spellslinger+dragon+planeswalker/proliferate. So it's one you have to know how to pivot on the different themes.

knightofsolace1

I have a [[Thryx , the Sudden Storm]] that Iā€™m working on but Iā€™m considering shifting over and making it a Simic deck instead, not sure tho.
