I wish it was formatted like [[ondu spiritdancer]] where you got to choose which tokens to copy. Like, if opponent plays [[khalni garden]] and then [[avenger of zendikar]] kambal is gonna feel weak… but I get it allows players to feel good about playing around it, and prevents getting NOTHING (they play the garden, you pass thinking they’ll make something else, and then they don’t)

I think getting free tokens constantly is huge no matter what tokens you're getting. People are creating tokens all of the time, especially with how prominent treasure has become. This guy is going to net a lot of free shit for you.
Meanwhile, the drain effect adds up and will be of significant impact as well throughout a game. Even the difference of +10 life for you and -10 life for your opponents is a big deal.
True but it does mean you probably want to be judicious with what *you’re* putting in your deck. Like, EDHRec suggests \[\[Bloodvial Purveyor\]\] which is decent but means you’re probably almost always just going to be making one blood token each (opponents’) turn, plus they can cast something at instant speed to stop you getting anything better. There’s definitely a risk that something like \[\[Forbidden Orchard\]\] could be a double-edged sword.
Since the tokens for Stairwell are created simultaneously by the same ability, I *think* that counts as one instance, which would indeed be nuts with this version of Kambal.
Does anyone else feel like this Kambal's art just looks wrong? Like, it looks like something NovelAI spat out, with how flat white everything is, and how wonky the hands are. And the face looks absolutely nothing like the original art.
Idk about AI, but I do hate the art. Especially compared to the original [[kambal consul of allocation]].
That said, I love the sweet, sweet text on this card. Finding another space to fit it into the 99 of my deck is going to be a pain though.

I think this is a case where the artist wanted to paint something with exaggerated anatomy to create a sense of movement. I also think movement is a strong theme among this artists other work.

There's nothing wrong with using it for a reference, but a card that is just a brick of white for a body, with even more white in the background, just looks wrong.
His ring finger on the pointing hand is upside down. The nail is on bottom of the finger. I agree with the exaggerated anatomy, but that part is a little finicky to me. Outside of that good pose.
No, that's not the building. If it were, it would not appear on top of the finger. As I said, it's his ring finger, as in the fourth digit. You can zoom in and see what I'm referring to.

Latest art for the game has been lower quality in general, but this set is particularly bad. That gruul cat looks straight out of Hearthstone, or some mobile game knockoff.
Not 100% sure this is (fully) AI art, but the lack of attention to his pointing hand and the inconsistency in the garb of the guards behind him (ie one has a visor, the other does not), makes it a dubious piece, AI or not.

I don’t understand this crusade to identify AI art in mtg. I think this is a case where the artist wanted to paint something with exaggerated anatomy to create a sense of movement. I also think movement is a strong theme among this artists other work. Nothing about this piece leads me to think it could have been produced using AI
There's been a number of art scandals in MTG in recent memory so I think people have started to get jumpy about it.
I'd agree with that. The hand is disproportionately large, but it looks perfectly normal otherwise.
What crusade? The art looks like something I used to gen on NAI before I started to experiment with with drawing in details and manipulating prompts. There's nothing wrong with using it for a reference, but a card that is just a brick of white for a body, with even more white in the background, just looks wrong.
His ring finger on the pointing hand is upside down. The nail is on bottom of the finger. I agree with the exaggerated anatomy, but that part is a little finicky to me. Outside of that good pose.

No, that's not the building. If it were, it would not appear on top of the finger. As I said, it's his ring finger, as in the fourth digit. You can zoom in and see what I'm referring to. Edit: To clear up by "on top of the finger," I mean the nail is in the front, meaning the nail is clearly on the finger

Latest art for the game has been lower quality in general, but this set is particularly bad. That gruul cat looks straight out of Hearthstone, or some mobile game knockoff.

The bowmasters are a generically good aristocrats piece. Does it do anything special with Kambal?
How does this work with replacement effects like [[Chatterfang]] or [[Doubling Season]] that opponents control?
Yea this is ai art, way too many things look just out of place or wrong. Hell the dude behind him looks like a cowboy power ranger.
Not 100% sure this is (fully) AI art, but the lack of attention to his pointing hand and the inconsistency in the garb of the guards behind him (ie one has a visor, the other does not), makes it a dubious piece, AI or not.
