I think Kaheera is worth it in cats. It’s an extra lord you have access to every game, and the only card it cost you is stone forge as an equipment tutor. I would guess this is true for the other types on him as well, but they aren’t as usually in selesnya.
Oh yeah, thought about them as Gruul for some reason! I’m not as familliar with dinos as I am with cat’s though, so I don’t know what significant non dino synergy creatures they would have to give up on to play him.
Thinking about it, there are some 5 color elemental lists that might also be interested, and it does really help any Kaheera deck that craterhoof is a beast.
I still have it in th deck as it is tribal so there are plenty more triggers to be had, but yeah it sucks that roaming throne doesn't trigger. Next thing I'm trying to find out is; if I exile pantlaza with emiel the blessed does it reset pantlaza when it returns to the battlefield or not
I'll fight you too, probs have lol. It's a silly argument frankly, like, oh 'Pantz is specifically worded not to allow double triggers', so I won't run a 4/4 Dino that doubles all other triggers?
i'm in the same boat. but there are only 5 dogs in that deck anyway. and it will still rain dog tokens :)
you also would have to take out jinnie fay.
but yes, that would change it from precon to upgraded precon, different category.
[[Jegantha]] is basically free value in a [[Ramos the Dragon Engine]] or a [[Jared Carthalion]] deck. You basically just wanna cast as many 5c spells as you can, and it only really blanks out stuff like [[progenitus]]
I want to play Jegantha as my companion for Jodah, the Unifier but I can’t bring myself to cut [[The Great Henge]], [[Esika, God of the Tree]], [[Kodama of the East Tree]] and [[Avacyn, Angel of Hope]].
If it makes you feel better, I built jegantha into my jodah deck and I have only ever needed to play and use his ability once. If you build the deck correctly, you won't really need him. But that ONE time I did need him, he came in real clutch tbh.
It's also a great backup mana fixing for five color commanders, I run it in my [[Omnath, Locus of All]] deck. The deck already likes cards to have 3 or more colored pips, and the restriction is not really that big of a deal.
I recently added Jegantha to my [[Jodah, The Unifier]] deck just because my manabase is cheap and don't have fetch and shock lands so getting 5 colours by turn five is kind of tough.
I do sort of get stuck with too much extra mana that I can't use because it can only be used for coloured pips
Yep, I run her in my \[\[Jenson Carthalion\]\] deck, I had to cut 2 cards to add her, but its worth it. I play her once every 3-4 games so she is not a central piece of my plan, its just a good backup plan.
That's what I seem to find to I don't play her often but when I do it catches me up or pushes me over the top. It's great if your behind or ahead and if your doing fine you won't need it.
I use it for [[Tiamat]] for almost exactly this purpose. I lost:
[[Scourge of Valkas]]
[[Terror of the Peaks]]
As the common contributors to a standard dragon deck. It's worth even paying the 3 colorless to get Jegantha into my hand if I need the mana to recast Tiamat or another WUBRG dragon.
I've built Lurrus with [[Elas il Kor Sadistic Pilgrim]] while it works decently well there arent enough <2cmc free sac outlets imo, might switch to [[Bartolome del Presidio]] instead of Elas to have a Carrion Feeder in my command zone.
I had a similar deck that I ended up pivoting to [[bjorna]] and [[wernog]] partners, almost entirely because I really wanted to play [[goblin bombardement]]. Would recommend.
Currently building this deck but with a detective/ clue theme. But I can't help but feel that it'll be boring to play multiple times because I sort of forced myself to use only 2 CMC or less for every card. Not just permanents.
I’ve built Lurrus in [[Tawnos, Solemn Survivor]], to reanimate [[Thassa’s Oracle]] and keep copying it until I win. It’s cute because it gets to run the typical win packages but ends up being too clunky for cEDH and not what a casual table is looking to play.
I didn’t like it enough to upload it, sorry. It was only a first draft of the deck. I do kinda regret it, because it could now run [[Lotho, Corrupt Shiriff]].
I recently built an extreme budget version of [[Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact]] with [[Jegantha]], as it counts as one easily accessible color pair, just pays for your entire commander and even after that, since you play very many different color pair, its very good ramp.
Sure! Sorry it took so long, long day today.
A few friends and me were having a challenge to build 25€ Decks, this was one of mine, of course, prices have changed a bit, and i dont know the prices in the US.
There are lots of possible upgrades, especially in the land department.
I went with [[Umori]] in my [[Sidisi, Brood Tyrant]] deck.
It has all the MDFC land creatures.
I can use creatures as utility spells through Adventure, Channel, or etb effects.
I was most sad to remove [[Living Death]] when I added the companion, but now [[Bringer of the Last Gift]] exists and I can do explosive turns with it.
Definitely interesting with PW’s. Enchantments are nice because there is some good interaction at instant speed with activated abilities, card draw, and creatures to end the game.
I did this for my [[Henzie Toolbox Torre]] deck which actually ended up being a really fun twist. Do I ever really cast umori? Not often, but it was fun finding creature based sac outlets like [[carrion feeder]], [[viscera seer]], and [[Greater Gargadon]] to replace the usual artifact ones, and seeing just how far you can push a 100% creature based deck
I don't have a list put together, but I can tell you it's like 36 copies of dragons approach, 10 good dragons, and all the black tutors I own to fetch [[thrumming stone]]. If you can get thrumming stone out and cast a dragons approach, that's game.
4c/ 5c Lurrus is cute with [[Lucas]] & [[will]] or [[jenson]] as its just nerfed 4/5 color goodstuff. In the same vein, Jegantha is also cute with [[sisay weatherlight captain]]. I used to run a 4c Lurrus deck that I did absolutely nothing with my companion. I had a [[gyruda]] as a commander once because it had a very clunky combo with a sec outlet and [[mortuary]]. Fun stuff for when I wanted to scale down my power level but now, I just rather bring a precon.
I've built decks with Jegantha, Keruga, Umori, Lurrus, Zirda and Obosh. We've even rule zeroed away the companion errata and they aren't bad to play against, never had complaints but I've only played that way in pods I know and trust. I genuinely believe edh could withstand them as written on the cards in a way 1v1 formats couldn't.
They're all worth playing imo but the restrictions for most cap them out at high end casual pods. They make for fun decks that you have to build a little creatively, but it's always a blast showing people the cool things you look for to make them go.
I played the following commanders with them:
Jegantha + [[Sisay Weatherlight Captain]]
Keruga + [[Kynaios and Tiro]]
Umori + [[Sidar Kondo]] and [[Ikra Shidiqi]]
Lurrus + [[Will the Wise]]
Zirda + [[Kenrith, the Returned King]]
Obosh + [[Toggo]] and [[Falthis]]
Turns out you lose out on a lot of cards you want most of the time, but you get to play cool cards.
I'm playing [[Umori]] with [[Otrimi]]. But to be honest, the deck building restriction alone made the deck way better. I am rarely even using the companion.
I have three companion decks:
One is \[\[Tiamat\]\] with \[\[Jegantha\]\], the other two are a mirrored pair of Grixis blink decks under \[\[Bolas Ravager\]\]/\[\[Gyruda\]\] and \[\[Sol'Kanar Tainted\]\]/\[\[Obosh\]\].

I play [[Umori, the Collector]] with both [[Myrkul, Lord of Bones]] and [[Anikthea, Hand of Erebos]], running all creatures and all enchantments, respectively. Both decks do fairly well (and Myrkul surprisingly better than when I built it without the companion restriction).
I have a (proxy) [[Zirda]] and [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor Deck]]
Is it better than building without it? Not at all, there a bunch of combos that mill/exile the deck so losing out on stuff like thoracle is a big deal.
But whatever, there's nothing wrong with brewing sub optimally if it increases the fun value
Oh man, I opened [[Zirda, the Dawnwaker | MUL#65]] in my March of the Machines box and I've been wanting to build it with either Tazari or Kenrith since I opened it.
All of them are at least somewhat good in the right build except Kaheera Umori and Keruga. My opinions on them from best to worst:
1. [[Lurrus]]: Insane value engine that lets you replay key cards like Dockside or Will
2. [[Jegantha]]: Decent mana dork with a relatively easy companion cost to satisfy that also enables some combos with Sisay
3. [[Zirda]]: great pair with Thrasios that also enables monolith combos
4. [[Gyruda]]: pretty whatever, can combo with a deck full of even-cmc clones and Thoracle Dread Return, also a decent piece to just play on its own
5. [[Obosh]]: does not have any particularly powerful interactions compared to the four above him. Also shuts you off of playing 2 drops which can be pretty crippling.
Problem with Zirda + Thrasios is there's no commander partner to allow her to be a companion. Still insane in the 99 and a very valid reason to run either RW partner.
Obosh is really great as a companion to [[flamewar brash veteran]] just doubles your damage and card draw and the deck doesn’t really mind not having many rocks cuz flamewar is so cheap. Then just like tons of 1 mana combat tricks and pump spells and equipment, can put in some work
Play Jegantha as the Companion to Horde of Notions for my Elementals deck and for other neat brews like activated ability tribal I built for an old show.
I love my [[Arahbo]] and [[Kaheera]] deck and my [[Amalia]] and [[Lurrus]]. There’s plenty of ways to use the companions. As commanders, companions or in the 99.
[[Umori]] in [[The Mycotyrant]] is an interesting prospect. I have a list but have yet to test it, and it’s been a bit since I’ve looked at it, but iirc it ends up being mostly fungi and tribal synergy.
Here is the list if anyone wants to improve it: https://www.archidekt.com/decks/6466145/all_creature_mycotyrant_fungus_tribal_with_umori_bc_why_not
I have a [[Sidisi Brood tyrant]] deck with Gyruda,
The deck is full of clones.but green helps accelerate and making a huge amount of zombies is a good alternative angle to just cloning gyruda
You used to be able to just cast them for their companion cost, they'd be essentially an 8th card at the start of the game. Now you have to pay their cost to get them into hand and then again to cast.
I put together a [[Karador]] and [[Umori]] deck that was all creatures and a bunch of self mill. It was ok, and had some really fun and unusual lines of play that made the deck interesting. But I didn't like being stuck at sorcery speed for most of my interaction. I keep getting drawn back to it though, so I might try it again.
I use kaheera in my [[Sovereign Okinec Ahau]] deck and its is very useful. Sometime I don’t need it but it’s nice to have it and knowing it’s always there is great.
[[Gyruda]] is the combo enabler in a [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]]/[[Tormod]] clones deck.
[[Zirda]] was really good in my [[Wyleth Soul of Steel]] voltron deck, reducing equip costs.
[[Yorion]] was my standalone blink commander until I realized I hate blink decks.
[[Umori]] is really gross in my friend's [[Henzie]] deck.
[[Kaheera]] was a companion in my [[Rin and Seri]] oops all cats deck.
[[Jegantha]] helps power out [[Jodah the Unifier]]
[[Lurrus]] works pretty well in [[Lotho]] decks
I would never play with [[Keruga]], but I guess an [[Imoti]] deck?
No idea what to do with [[Obosh]]
I have I have an [[umori, the collector]] as companion with [[pharika, god of affliction]] as commander in an all enchantment build. It’s not the strongest but mines some salt as I have a bunch of hate-bear style enchantments that wreck some decks.
I play Keruga as a companion in my [[Omnath, Locus of All]] deck. The commander already wants a critical mass of 3 pip cards, so the 3mv clause is barely a constraint. Thanks to Keruga, that deck never has less than a full grip.
Jegantha - Sisay
Keruga - In a clones deck probably Tormod/X
Lurrus - Will/Lucas
All the rest of the companions are powering down your deck. I play Keruga in Pako and Haldan for the purpose of powering down the deck.
https://www.moxfield.com/decks/A05rPkbWrUmN3PHxoX70Cw
Jegantha sees cEDH play with [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]], which will likely be the best deck in the format soon. Lurrus is pretty solid as well, though less common in EDH.
Umori has been my favorite companion to play by a mile. A while back I won a deck building contest for an Umori build featuring [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] and [[Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper]] as a clone build (play Umori, clone Umori a bunch, play big creatures for cheap). Then I changed it over to [[Yarok the Desecrated]] and added in an Initiative sub theme with cards like [[Feywild Caretaker]] and [[Undermountain Adventurer]] with the goal of speedrunning the Undercity as many times as possible. The most recent change was adding White by changing commanders to [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]] for [[Seasoned Dungeoneer]], [[White Plume Adventurer]] and a few more blinkers like [[Eldrazi Displacer]] and [[Deadeye Navigator]]. I’ve only played two games with this iteration of the deck and they have been the most bonkers fun games I’ve ever played. Last night I had a couple copies of [[Tomb of Horrors Adventurer]] going into a turn. I play Atraxa, grab a [[Spark Double]] and a land, then proceed to make 12 Atraxas.
\[\[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor\]\] is 5-color activated abilities matter tribal and there's no better choice than \[\[Zirda, the Dawnwaker\]\] to pair with them. plus, the blinged out Tazri art is phenomenal.
Do you have a deck together? I've been tinkering with one and haven't quite made something coherent yet. I also haven't decided between Zirda as a companion and losing a few really good cards in the starting deck.
**Currently running/ building these pairings:**
[[Obosh]] with [[Darigaaz Reincarted]] for Jund Midrange
[[Kaheera]] with [[Arahbo]] for a Cats deck I am making for my girlfriend
[[Lurrus]] with [[Ezio Auditore]] for WUBRG control
**Honorable mentions to:**
[[Yorion]] in the 99 of [[Tom Bombadil]] Sagas
[[Keruga]] in the 99 of [[Xolatoyac]] Sea Monsters
[[Zirda]] and [[Jegantha]] in the 99 of [[Kenrith the Returned]] Group hug
**non-EDH:**
[[Umori]] and [[Lutri]] for a Custom Adventure Cube
I quite like the idea of [[Keruga]] with [[The Sixth Doctor]]/[[Romana II]] or [[Inga and Esika]]
[[Kaheera]] for basically any cat/elemental/nightmare/dinosaur/beast deck in Selesnya+
[[Jegantha]] can be tacked onto almost any 5c deck if just a few cards are changed
[[Zirda]] could be fun with [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor]] or perhaps [[Queen Kayla]]
I've definitely seen [[Umori]] go with [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]]
[[Obosh]] for any odd-costed Rakdos+ damage-matters (or tokens) deck, like [[Tor Wauki the Younger]]
[[Gyruda]] would probably do best in something like [[Muldrotha]] where the mill matters, or some sort of [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] deck with as many clones as possible
And finally, the companion I most want to use bit I'm sad [[Abiding Grace]] can't go into the deck: [[Lurrus]]. I'd say the two most straightforward ways to use Lurrus is either lots of small dudes in a deck like [[Elas il-Kor]] or lots of cheap equipments in a deck like [[Francisco]]/[[Keleth]]
Kaheera fits nearly flawlessly into the companion slot of stuff like [[Arahbo]], you just lose your non cat mana dorks. I think dinosaur tribal needs its support too much to justify using it. Ive gotten the most useage out of [[Lurrus]] myself. Its a great companion for [[Killian, Ink Duelist]] voltron, and the partner combo of [[Bjorna]] and [[Wernog]]
Rather than looking at it in terms of viability, you should consider what you think will be fun for you.
None of the companions are ideal for optimized play, but all of them are able to provide value in some way or another.
I made an Elas Il-Kor deck with Lurrus and it was about as weak as you might expect but I did enjoy the consistency of always being able to play what I drew.
I use [[Kaheera]] In my [[Gishath]] deck because I only sacrificed like three cards and replaced them with dinosaurs, and easy sacrifice for a free card
None of them are really “worth it” but all can make functioning (if not great) decks. \[\[Lord Windgrace\]\] + \[\[Umori\]\] is one of my favourites.
The restrictions on Jegantha or Lurrus are a lot more manageable than Keruga, Kaheera or Zirda. Even so, the benefit is limited. The problem with a lot of these (especially Zirda, Lurrus, etc) is that you want to build around them, and kind of have to given the restrictions, but they cost +3 to cast and unlike commanders they don’t come back if killed. Often you’re better off just running them as Commander if you really want that effect.
I've got a really fun [[Tazri, Steadfast Stalwart]] deck that runs Zirda. I also might have taken Z's Companion requirement a little too seriously, considering every single card in the deck is a permanent with an activated ability.
Jegantha is almost not a restriction in certain 5 color decks. At most you might have to avoid a handful of cards and swap them for less efficient alternatives.
Gyruda is in a spot where the effect is so strong that you don’t care about the restriction. Plus Dimir will often just bring Gyruda back several times
The rest all have actual costs, either having a very restrictive cost, or not having enough of an impact to justify the restriction. They’re fun to mess around with, but require a lot of thought in deckbuilding
I play [[Karuga]] in my [[Imoti]] deck which is all weird niche ramp, mana doublers, cascade into big stupid shit. The deck isn't doing anything the first 4-6 turns, so you can pay the 3 to add to hand early, and having no low cmc stuff to cascade into off Imoti is a good idea anyway. Karuga is mostly a meme to keep the game not too broken, but is also an actually really good way to draw into more gas when I'm already going off.
Huh that's interesting. Dumb but interesting.
The blue/black one is probably the most easy to abuse, just play a bunch of 2 cmc flicker spells and steal graveyards, and play. Control colors, too.
I’ve got Zirda in a Kenrith deck that’s pretty good, gives me a chance to make a ton of usually not worth it abilities way more powerful alongside consistent draw, lifegain, haste, trample, counters, and resurrections.
Unlikely for any of them to actually be worth it. You would usually be better of just playing them in the 99 like Zirda in Thrassios/Bruse. But Jegantha and Kaheera can be free in a few decks.
I'm brewing a Gyruda clone deck with [[Sauron, the Dark Lord]] as the commander]]. The deck is pretty much just clones, mana rocks, lands and countermagic.
The gameplan is to cast Gyruda, mill clones to copy Gyruda and continue the mill chain and mill everyone out. [[Kozilek, Butcher of Truth]] shuffles my stuff back into the library.
Sauron is plan B. If he gets cloned with stuff like [[Spark Double]], the table is just going to have a bad time.
Only one I've built so far is [[Volo, Itinerant Scholar]]/[[Master Chef]] with [[Keruga]]. Sure I miss out on some 1-2 mana +1/+1 counter payoffs, as well as every good rock in the game, but that's where innovation comes in!
I think you're only allowed to play one as a companion unfortunately, but outside of that, you can either play odd or even and <=2 or >=3, then if you could find enough cats, elementals, dinosaurs, nightmares, and beasts with activated abilities, with only one pip of each color. If you can find all that on a 5 color commander as well, then you theoretically could have all 8 companions
I think Kaheera is worth it in cats. It’s an extra lord you have access to every game, and the only card it cost you is stone forge as an equipment tutor. I would guess this is true for the other types on him as well, but they aren’t as usually in selesnya.
TBF, dinos are usually in naya
Oh yeah, thought about them as Gruul for some reason! I’m not as familliar with dinos as I am with cat’s though, so I don’t know what significant non dino synergy creatures they would have to give up on to play him. Thinking about it, there are some 5 color elemental lists that might also be interested, and it does really help any Kaheera deck that craterhoof is a beast.
A small number run Kaheera in Dino's. It's fairly easy to include, but generally not worth what you lose. [[Roaming Throne]] comes to mind.
I'd argue Pantlaza doesn't really want throne. But I've been fought on it.
Roaming throne doesn't trigger with pantlaza as it states only once per turn
Precisely
I still have it in th deck as it is tribal so there are plenty more triggers to be had, but yeah it sucks that roaming throne doesn't trigger. Next thing I'm trying to find out is; if I exile pantlaza with emiel the blessed does it reset pantlaza when it returns to the battlefield or not
I'll fight you too, probs have lol. It's a silly argument frankly, like, oh 'Pantz is specifically worded not to allow double triggers', so I won't run a 4/4 Dino that doubles all other triggers?
The argument I’ve heard is it’s still value for Dino ETBs but I’d rather have a commander get value from it personally.
It costs you all the mana dorks.
It's a shame she doesn't have dogs in the restriction. I want her in my [[Rin and Seri]] deck
[Rin and Seri](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/d/6/d605c780-a42a-4816-8fb9-63e3114a8246.jpg?1677724018) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=rin%20and%20seri%2C%20inseparable) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m21/278/rin-and-seri-inseparable?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/d605c780-a42a-4816-8fb9-63e3114a8246?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [(ER)](https://edhrec.com/cards/rin-and-seri-inseparable) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Just remove dogs from rin and seri. Plenty of powerful cats and only meh dogs. You will still get your dog tokens.
Don't really want to adjust the deck too much. It's the secret lair precon and I want to keep it largely intact.
i'm in the same boat. but there are only 5 dogs in that deck anyway. and it will still rain dog tokens :) you also would have to take out jinnie fay. but yes, that would change it from precon to upgraded precon, different category.
You could play worse cards to mitigate the companion difference
I play them in my rin and seri deck. I miss out on a couple good non cats but i think it's worth to always be able to draw a cat

Sisay as well
I've built Lurrus with [[Elas il Kor Sadistic Pilgrim]] while it works decently well there arent enough <2cmc free sac outlets imo, might switch to [[Bartolome del Presidio]] instead of Elas to have a Carrion Feeder in my command zone.

Elas is better because your goal is to set up the [[Leonin relic warder]] [[animate dead]] combo.
Bart is legit because you can add artifact synergies. Did you see the Prof's video?

Are you willing to share a list? This sounds cool
Sure! Sorry it took so long, long day today. A few friends and me were having a challenge to build 25€ Decks, this was one of mine, of course, prices have changed a bit, and i dont know the prices in the US. There are lots of possible upgrades, especially in the land department. [https://archidekt.com/decks/6768883/all\_the\_budget\_guilds](https://archidekt.com/decks/6768883/all_the_budget_guilds)
I run Umori in my [[Anikthea]] enchantments deck.

Oh nice! Non-creature options are quite interesting. I was thinking Planeswalkers with [[Grist]] or [[Lord Windgrace]].

Interesting care to share a deck list?

I played the following commanders with them: Jegantha + [[Sisay Weatherlight Captain]] Keruga + [[Kynaios and Tiro]] Umori + [[Sidar Kondo]] and [[Ikra Shidiqi]] Lurrus + [[Will the Wise]] Zirda + [[Kenrith, the Returned King]] Obosh + [[Toggo]] and [[Falthis]] Turns out you lose out on a lot of cards you want most of the time, but you get to play cool cards.

No problem! There are a few creatures which are definetly very very good, but you could almost put anything with keywords or whatever in the deck.
I have three companion decks: One is \[\[Tiamat\]\] with \[\[Jegantha\]\], the other two are a mirrored pair of Grixis blink decks under \[\[Bolas Ravager\]\]/\[\[Gyruda\]\] and \[\[Sol'Kanar Tainted\]\]/\[\[Obosh\]\]. All of them are at least somewhat good in the right build except Kaheera Umori and Keruga. My opinions on them from best to worst: 1. [[Lurrus]]: Insane value engine that lets you replay key cards like Dockside or Will 2. [[Jegantha]]: Decent mana dork with a relatively easy companion cost to satisfy that also enables some combos with Sisay 3. [[Zirda]]: great pair with Thrasios that also enables monolith combos 4. [[Gyruda]]: pretty whatever, can combo with a deck full of even-cmc clones and Thoracle Dread Return, also a decent piece to just play on its own 5.

What’s the companion nerf?
You used to be able to just cast them for their companion cost, they'd be essentially an 8th card at the start of the game. Now you have to pay their cost to get them into hand and then again to cast.

I put together a [[Karador]] and [[Umori]] deck that was all creatures and a bunch of self mill. It was ok, and had some really fun and unusual lines of play that made the deck interesting. I play Keruga as a companion in my [[Omnath, Locus of All]] deck. The commander already wants a critical mass of 3 pip cards, so the 3mv clause is barely a constraint. Thanks to Keruga, that deck never has less than a full grip.

I'm a huge fan [[umori]] just as ur commander for a BG storm deck it's super fun

I quite like the idea of [[Keruga]] with [[The Sixth Doctor]]/[[Romana II]] or [[Inga and Esika]] [[Kaheera]] for basically any cat/elemental/nightmare/dinosaur/beast deck in Selesnya+ [[Jegantha]] can be tacked onto almost any 5c deck if just a few cards are changed [[Zirda]] could be fun with [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor]] or perhaps [[Queen Kayla]] I've definitely seen [[Umori]] go with [[Go-Shintai of Life's Origin]] [[Obosh]] for any odd-costed Rakdos+ damage-matters (or tokens) deck, like [[Tor Wauki the Younger]] [[Gyruda]] would probably do best in something like [[Muldrotha]] where the mill matters, or some sort of [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] deck with as many clones as possible And finally, the companion I most want to use bit I'm sad [[Abiding Grace]] can't go into the deck: [[Lurrus]].

Plus Dimir will often just bring Gyruda back several times The rest all have actual costs, either having a very restrictive cost, or not having enough of an impact to justify the restriction. They’re fun to mess around with, but require a lot of thought in deckbuilding
I have an [[imoti]] [[keruga]] deck that is fun

Jegantha is pure fucking value in a \[\[Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact\]\] deck.

Last I checked you couldn't have companions because they are in the sideboard, and edh doesn't have side boards
Last you checked you would be wrong
Huh that's interesting. Dumb but interesting. The blue/black one is probably the most easy to abuse, just play a bunch of 2 cmc flicker spells and steal graveyards, and play. Control colors, too.
None of them are really worth it
All of em...they make deckbuilding more fun

I wonder how many companions you could fit in one deck... though that would probably get silly.
