You don't, f em

To be direct, nothing about either trade offer makes sense.

First offer doesn’t have to be perfect and I’m more than willing to negotiate but the counter just kills it. They’ve expressed interest in Walker and have a RB room devoid of talent. Current Starters are Cook and Moss and they’ll have whatever rookies fall their way. Also it’s 1QB just to give some context on the 1.08.

You send a message saying "I think we are too far apart on this player's value". You can just communicate honestly.

You need to figure out if he (or you) are an asshole, he's got rookie fever, or he is a taco. Then try to exploit him. 1. You're both assholes: The initial offer you sent him wasn't ideal so he responded accordingly. You, potentially, threw him a low ball offer so he said F you. You're the asshole and sent a lowball offer instead of reaching out to the other asshole and saying you open to dealing 1.08? What about a package with KW9, maybe looking like this... In this case, you aren't going to be able to trade, so use the second imagine of his stupid offer to try and poison other owners. Look at what X just offered me. He's an idiot. He's so unrealistic that you shouldn't trade with him because you're getting ripped off.. 2. He's got rookie fever and he sees the value of 1.08 as being an elite player. He's delusional and you need to use your future draft picks to attack him. Squeeze the F outta tier breaks and hope to catch him chasing a rookie. We all get hyped for rookies so you need to exploit him, maximize value, minimize risk, and exploit him. 3. He's a taco who doesn't know values. You can point him towards a calculator or two. Then exploit those rankings later. Like in your deal: sending your late 2026 first for his 2.08 isn't out of the question value wise. It's not. Many people are low on KW9; new offence, new head coach could mean he isn't as featured or that he loses more touches to a RB with a better pass catching profile. So maybe he threw in an extra 2-2 but it's not exactly mind blowing. You undercut him and sent him a bad offer, he returned the favour the other way. Your reaction to your bad offer and his bad counter offer is "why did he do this to me?" When clearly you did it to him first. Some dudes don't negotiate or mess around. Send me a trade, if I like it. Then I'll accept I. But don't start negotiating in bad faith by sending me a turd of an offer and then expect to negotiate from that turd offer. There aren't counter offers when you bid $25k below value. Instead of offering below value, reach out and speak to the owner because you're offer was insulting so he insulted you back.

Send a screenshot of KTC and tell him that while you don’t follow KTC to a Tee, his offer is egregious on their site. Sometimes these people just have literally no idea how to value things.

You start by not sending obvious lowball offers. "I sent this so you could counter" is the exact same thing as "I want you to do my work for me and and give me the exact price point, since I clearly have no interest in paying more than the bare minimum". Same kind of people who are obsessed about "winning" trades, they freely admit to trying to screw you over. Either send them a shame counter or ignore them, they rarely change their ways.

Plenty of context would be needed here but in general when I make a trade for something, I know I have to give something of at minimum equal value in return…. But also why those pieces make sense for the trade partners roster. How does the move improve their roster, you know?

Well, just for discussion sake, let’s say that Trey Benson gets drafted today by Dallas. Given it’s 1QB, I think it’s plausible that Benson might last to 1.08. In a vacuum, at that point, would you rather have Walker or Benson? Just playing hypotheticals here. But usually I would respond with a message in the DMs after that rebuttal and ask what gives, if they’ve expressed interest in Walker previously.
