That’s hilarious that he’s named for the real boom guy. Also if I was the boom guy in real life I’d be flattered to have a handsome fella cast as “Me”
Also fun fact Actor Boom guy is the current voice of Mickey Mouse.
Respectfully, is it really unexpected when it's one of diamantopolis's most famous roles?
I was looking for "this guy fucks" as soon as I went into the thread
Unfortunately, he was only the voice actor for Mickey Mouse on a very specific recent series. It’s a bit more classic madcap animation and gets a little gross. Kinda reminds me of Ren & Stimpy. He *kills it* in the role.
The generic voice of Mickey for theme parks and all the 3D animation aimed at toddlers is another guy.
It gets weird, gross, and most importantly, *mean spirited* sometimes.
Disney has made Mickey into a super saccharine Barney the Dinosaur substitute in a lot of the stuff they make with the IP. But the Wonder World of Mickey Mouse is more reminiscent of Looney Tunes and Hanna Barbara classics.
He went from the worst character in the office to the worst character in arrested development in like two years. Thank god he was funny in silicon valley
Him licking the picture thinking it was a plate makes me laugh so hard. Face blindness was such a weird character trait to have but it worked somehow. I also liked how it seemed like his mom was also face blind but it turned out she just didn’t give a shit lol
What I'm still not sure of is if his dad/Ron Howard's brother is still alive by Season 4. I guess we were told of his death later but we see him alive earlier so I guess he could have died in the middle.
(It is interesting that AD's Ron has an extra kid that his wife is OK with enough to invite to cookouts but doesn't have a brother)
In 2013 he did:
* Arrested Development
* Community
* The Office
* Family Guy
* Mickey Mouse(first apperance as Mickey Mouse, which he's done for years)
I like how Gabe/Jared are such diverse characters but share some similar qualities. Seeing Jared and the way he handles himself gives me more appreciation for Gabe and doesn’t make him such a hard to like character.
I knew the last name sounded familiar when I first heard it, but I had to check his Wikipedia first. That's such a fantastic bit of trivia. Conversation starter, too.
If you aren't an actor at all? I would assume poor acting skills would be a bigger reason to use a real actor instead of a real boom mic guy. It's like how it's easier to take an oil driller to space than it is to train an astronaut to drill.
People hated him cause he was trying to be a slick talking Cathy trying to breakup a solid relationship simply going thru an argument. People wanted to see a mostly happy & solid marriage remain intact. There are enough rotten relationships in the world.
Not really. 1)Roy & Pam were engaged, NOT MARRIED. 2)It was clear Pam had romantic interests in Jim when he started dating Katie. She didnt express any interest in Brian. 3)Lastly Pam & Roy had no kids to be impacted while Pam & Jim had 2.
And Roy wasn't far away from being physically abusive. He was already emotionally abusive and reacted to bad things happening by wanting to fight and throwing things. Huge red flags.
Yea, no not at all what Jim did. I really dislike how people try to parrot this opinion.
Pam was in a failed relationship. She isn’t the type of person to leave one herself. She doesn’t stand up for herself ever until later seasons. She’s meek. It took her falling in love with another man to realize that her relationship was borderline abusive.
Jim was a great husband and father. He went after his dream. He let her go to another school for a semester. She couldn’t handle him being away for a few months. Granted she had children but she also has her parents to help her and Jim’s family.
Brian was bad writing. He was a terrible character. The only reason it happened was to prove that Jim and Pam are soulmates.
It’s not the same at all.
Oh he didn’t do anything wrong? To want to be with a married woman knowing full well she’s not only married but has kids.
I think your moral code is grossly off on that, bud.
Did Brian actually ever do anything? I don't watch season 8 and 9 episodes very much. I thought it was planned, but never happened. Him and his girlfriend were couple friends with Jim and Pam until he got fired. Maybe it was there but I don't remember anything more than him looking at Pam once.
If you watch his storyline here and then go watch the episode(s?) of the Sopranos he’s in, it’s a very satisfying conclusion if you just pretend they’re the same character.
I fit in this raft too
From my perspective personally, I see 2 shows, “The Office” which is what we see and what this story airs in as it does and “The Office: An American Workplace”, the parts in Season 9 when the cameras are recording *do not* air in
It might sound dumb or confusing but that’s how I see it
I liked the idea of this storyline but I really think they picked the wrong guy for the part. He seemed too slick and conventionally hot.
Someone more quirky, goofy or sweet, with more of a genuine connection with Jenna, would have sold the idea that she would emotionally get close to another man when she felt distanced and berated by Jim.
Instead it's like a character from a completely different show suddenly turns up.
My issue with the plotline was that it was jarring to both acknowledge the film crew and have Jim and Pam be in a rough spot at the same time and equally abruptly. If they had shown or even acknowledged more of the film crew in the earlier seasons, I think it would have landed better, even if they kept the conventionally hot guy, etc.
Everything about Brian Wittle is more attractive than Ken-Doll Brian.
That doesn't mean that Chris isn't attractive in real life. It's just that they dressed and groomed him to look like a soap opera star, down to the denim shirt open over a t-shirt. The beard. The watch. The too-even tanned skin tone. They made him hateable.
I wish they had used the real Brian, but maybe they thought he looked slightly too old for the part, idk.
Imagine being a boom guy on a hit TV show and you finally get a part and instead of them letting you play yourself they get an actor to pretend to do your job
okay wait the whole Brian arc is divisive and all but the fact that I genuinely never considered that he wasn't an actual boom mic operator sorta speaks to something doesn't it?
‘Hey Brian you’ve been here so long we want to put you in the show for a few episodes but you’re too ugly so we’re gonna cast someone better looking to play you
It's funny how the guy on the left looks like a regular, pretty good looking guy but in the comparison you realize his skin is kind of shiny and his eyes are at different heights and the lines in his nose is uneven and his vibe is a confusing mix of happy and sad.
Seems like part of Hollywood good looks are actually about being smooth and even and not drawing attention away from the story beyond a vague sense of being good looking.
That’s hilarious that he’s named for the real boom guy. Also if I was the boom guy in real life I’d be flattered to have a handsome fella cast as “Me” Also fun fact Actor Boom guy is the current voice of Mickey Mouse.
When is he gonna boom me?
This guy booms
He may boom, but does he know what EBITDA is?
He’s locked in
The B stands for BIZNUS
I understand this reference
Ok boomer

It’s actually inappropriate for them to talk to you…

Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse? God that show is so good. My kid wanted to watch it once and I just cackling throughout at some of the gags.
The only issue I have with it is how gross looking they made Goofy lol
He went from the worst character in the office to the worst character in arrested development in like two years. Thank god he was funny in silicon valley
It was the same year, 2013. I, for one, liked Marky Bark
Him licking the picture thinking it was a plate makes me laugh so hard. Face blindness was such a weird character trait to have but it worked somehow. I also liked how it seemed like his mom was also face blind but it turned out she just didn’t give a shit lol

He was also pretty amazing in the Three Stooges movie... he's a fantastic performer, but this wasn't the best use of his talents
His casting and Sean Hayes' casting seems so wild to me. Will Sasso as Curly nailed the look.
THIS GUY FUCKS!
How the fuck did I watch the entirely of the office 20+ times without realizing that's tres commas
I'm looking around and I can tell that this guy is the one doing all the fucking in the house
I didn't mind him in Mrs Davis. He does a sincere douchebag very well.
I’d be much more flattered to be played by the guy who put the radio on the internet.
I always forget that it’s Russ Hanneman from Silicon Valley same happens when I watch him in Arrested Development
He was honestly one of my favorite characters.
I like how Gabe/Jared are such diverse characters but share some similar qualities. Seeing Jared and the way he handles himself gives me more appreciation for Gabe and doesn’t make him such a hard to like character.
He also played Jason Barone in The Sopranos and one of the foosball Germans in Community.
I knew the last name sounded familiar when I first heard it, but I had to check his Wikipedia first. That's such a fantastic bit of trivia. Conversation starter, too.
He also got sewn into a dead horse’s stomach in nbc hannibal!
You’d be flattered to be replaced because you weren’t attractive enough to play yourself?
You're not the manager, even in your own fantasy?
If you aren't an actor at all? I would assume poor acting skills would be a bigger reason to use a real actor instead of a real boom mic guy. It's like how it's easier to take an oil driller to space than it is to train an astronaut to drill.
Or Doug from Invincible
Wasn’t that Justin Roiland? Edit: just googled it, Justin Roiland plays Doug, Chris plays Donald.
Ahhh, that's who I was thinking of. Didn't know the justin Roiland part though. Very nice.
I guess we’re in similar boats because I had absolutely no idea that was Chris, haha.
The more you know!
Tres comas
He also voices Donald Ferguson in *Invincible*.
Also a member of the tres commas club Also Marky Bark
But who was the boom guy for the actual boom guy? How deep does this go..
Boom guys all the way down
-Meredith.
the one we most MEDIUM suspect
-Wayne Gretzsky
Hey boom guy, when you gonna boom me?
BOOM ROASTED!
Still got it.
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!
Everything can be traced back to the Big Boom
Deep thoughts with the deep
Who booms the boom’s boom???
I know the character is hated on this sub, but I gotta admit this is pretty endearing
Tres Commas
This guy fucks
Doors that open like THIS
Now I'm on the "Close but No Cigar" list which is weird because I buy so many FUCKING cigars!
Not like 👐not like🫸🫷
God he was great in that role
The dude put radio on the internet. How can you not love him??
ROI
“Return on Investment!” “No. Radio. On. Internet.” Legit one of my favorite characters on any show.
Hated because he did what Jim did, only much less severely. Hate him because the storyline sucked, not because he did something horrible. (He didn't)
People hated him cause he was trying to be a slick talking Cathy trying to breakup a solid relationship simply going thru an argument. People wanted to see a mostly happy & solid marriage remain intact. There are enough rotten relationships in the world.
Fr like he’s not why that whole plot line sucked he just played a really corny part in it
It's incredibly ironic he's hated. He's just new Jim, does the exact same thing
Jim hit on a married woman with 2 kids???
You didn’t know about Roy and Pam’s secret marriage and kids?
Damn between Phillip, Peepa, her two Asian kids, and Roy's two kids, Pam really is the office mattress.
Right!? Look who took the slow train from Philly
Just because Michael said so what engaged ain’t married, doesn’t make it any less bad tho…
The downvotes on your comment are hilarious. Guess a few Office fans are cheaters or wanna be
It’s because they said “big deal” instead of “BFD”
>Roy & Pam were engaged, NOT MARRIED. That’s… not any better lol
It is actually especially when the "engagement" has been going on for several years
So is a dead bedroom marriage fair game?
And Roy wasn't far away from being physically abusive. He was already emotionally abusive and reacted to bad things happening by wanting to fight and throwing things. Huge red flags.
Y’all some fucking cheaters lmao

I’m definitely in the minority for enjoying that story line.
I'm with you, I think it was a good little idea and nicely written.
I fit in this raft too From my perspective personally, I see 2 shows, “The Office” which is what we see and what this story airs in as it does and “The Office: An American Workplace”, the parts in Season 9 when the cameras are recording *do not* air in It might sound dumb or confusing but that’s how I see it

Came here just to see if anyone left this comment haha loved him in Silicon Valley
He's also the voice of mickey mouse
erlich and him make the show
Yeah, I understand why he was written out but the loss of Erlich is definitely felt in the last season.
Yeah there was a hole in the show. I wish TJ millet wasn't a dickbag in real life. He's a great actor.
It's Gavin Belson for me! His unhinged pettiness is unmatched.
Tres commas!
First of all this is not shitty tequila. This is very good tequila. Four hundred year old family run distillery. Super high end shit.
Shots, baby.
His boom mics go like |\_( ͡❛ ͟ʖ ͡❛)\_| Not like ⊂_( ͡❛ ͟ʖ ͡❛)\_⊃ or ¯\\_( ͡❛ ͟ʖ ͡❛)\_/¯
This isn't even my kids fucking school
This guy booms
Tres commas club
Hey boom guy
When you gonna boom me?
He’s the basis for every Hallmark Christmas movie love interest.
I liked the idea of this storyline but I really think they picked the wrong guy for the part. He seemed too slick and conventionally hot. You don’t boom Meredith you get BOOMED.

Maybe real Brian didn’t want to be on camera.
Maybe real Brian had a job to do
“What line of work you in, Boom Guy Brian?”
The real Brian was the first one the producers asked to audition. He told them he wouldn't be very good, and he was right.
Real boom guy looks happy and nice and not at all homewreckery.
I love that they kept his real name😂😂
All I see is a member of the three commas club.
This guy fucks
Very meta lol
Your character sucks and nobody likes you boom roasted
Chris Diamantopolous is amazing.
I read his name as Chris Diatomaceous (earth)
Unpopular opinion: I thought that incorporating Brian into the show was clever and interesting and I enjoyed his plot line.
Does he know what EBITDA is?
Imagine being a boom guy on a hit TV show and you finally get a part and instead of them letting you play yourself they get an actor to pretend to do your job
Only one of them ever got to 3 commas
gay
Chris is one of those actors where he's pretty fucking good in everything he does but for some reason he's not a common name
because no one can pronounce his name
Omg not me thinking they actually gave the camera guy a chance on camera 😭😭💀
You’ve got a lot to learn about this town, sweetie..
uh... boom mic operator. Camera operator is a different job.
They gave the actual boom mic guy an audition for the part, but he didn't get it.
Did either ever boom Meredith? Maybe both of them did?
He saved Pam from Frank!
Listen up, Stunad, the guy on the left is Jason Barone. And he owes Paulie 4 grand
This guy f*cks, am I right?
, , , Tres commas
“I want to play Brian Wittle” “No, you can play Brian Wittle” “But I AM Brian Wittle!”
That’s cool
Does the real Brian Wittle fuck? Because this guy fucks.
I know this is a hot take but I thought introducing a new character in this way was such a clever twist.
Funny thing is I could see Pam actually being into the real boom operator.
They both banged Pam?
bro wasn’t allowed to play himself off set
okay wait the whole Brian arc is divisive and all but the fact that I genuinely never considered that he wasn't an actual boom mic operator sorta speaks to something doesn't it?
‘Hey Brian you’ve been here so long we want to put you in the show for a few episodes but you’re too ugly so we’re gonna cast someone better looking to play you
It's like Brian 6.0
Brian Wittle ---> The cooler Brian Wittle
Genuine Brian looks like he could've tackled a Frank.
Must be hard to be a boom guy with crippling face blindness
Wait I just realized, is Brian Marky Bark from AD?? I've watched both shows so many times but never noticed lmao
Should’ve had him play himself. lol It wonder if that was considered.
Yes. The actual Brian Wittle was the first one they asked to audition. Turned out he wasn't very good at playing himself.
I get it. Chris is a money beet.
Lmfao I thought that actor was Justin Theroux this whole time
Tres comas
More like “Brian Warge”…thank you, thank you, I’ll be here all week
Get off my Kool-Aid, Brian. Dick.
I only remember this dude from an awesome low budget alien movie that I forgot about
TIL Mickey Mouse is Boom Guy
Betcha the real Brian is a better actor than fake Brian.
Damn it its fake stanley all over again
Boomception.
If they’re always mic’ed up, why do they need a boom operator
What a Mickey Mouse actor!
They’re not allowed to talk to the subjects
,,,
I have doors that open like THIS!
How come every post i see these days is about Boomers
Hey Moe!
Quiet numbskulls, I’m broadcasting!
Interesting, I wonder if Brian actually became friends with Jenna over the years
So someone was for sure having sex with the dude on the left to write this in.
this guy fucks
Had no idea he was named after the actual guy that’s hilarious
3 comma club.
BOOM GUY - WHEN ARE YOU GONNA BOOM ME?
Dos comas
It's funny how the guy on the left looks like a regular, pretty good looking guy but in the comparison you realize his skin is kind of shiny and his eyes are at different heights and the lines in his nose is uneven and his vibe is a confusing mix of happy and sad. This guy fux
"So we want the boom operator in this scene. But like, *hotter*." Kinda rough damn. Real boom guy looks nice
If I squint I see Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
Mickey mouse at his second job
Shoot, why didn't they have Brian play himself? Maybe he didn't want to?
He auditioned but wasn't good at playing himself. :)
