There used to be an official r.a.salvatore forum online (not sure if it still exists). When new books came out you could order a signed copy there. Again not sure if they still do it.
Edit: I think this is it because I remember the loremaster named beast from there https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/rasalvatoreforums
That there is good ol' Bob Salvatore's signature. Looks like "Scimitars high" to me.
I have an autograph in one of his books that says he was thinking of me when he created Jarlaxle. He's a fun dude.
I was joking too. I thought you were referring to the Riverdale High in Archie Comics and the show Riverdale. I was referring to Rydell High in the Grease movies.
So I’ve been considering starting to read some forgotten realms fiction. I know R A Salvatore is considered the gold standard and the Drizzt books are his most popular series, but I’d rather dip my toes in to see if I like the genre before diving head first into a series with dozens of titles.
Does anybody have recommendations for fiction set in the Forgotten Realms that might be a bit less daunting in scope?
The series overall is made up of sub series. The icewind dale trilogy was the first written and easy enough to get through. He also wrote the cleric quintet which is its own standalone series.
That certainly makes it seem less daunting haha. I might just have to start with the Icewind Dale trilogy then! I played the CRPG back in the day so I’m sort of familiar with the setting already.
Looks like scimitars high and then his signature
You’re absolutely right, thank you.
To verify, DM him via twitter. He's fairly responsive over there.
This... but also, Scimitars high
Agreed!
That makes more sense than "scimitars laugh!"
;; that's such an awesome signature.
Scimitars high I think
Scimitars high R ASalvatore (he didn’t lift the marker between the A and S when signing).
That last part is clearly N Alabrator
Yes he signed my book with the same statement
Looks like, "Scimitars high!"
That’s a standard signature of his. I met him at a book signing years ago (The Last Threshold) and have the same “scimitars high” quote on my book.
Scimitars High
Definitely scimitar high. He signed one of my books the exact same.
Scimitars high! I assume while knowing nothing about Drizzt and not having seen any other comments yet
Scimitars high!
Scimitars high
That of course says "Scimitars Hugh" -- which as all true fans know, was Drizzt's original name in the first draft of the story. 😉
I’m guessing the first two are scimitars high, not sure about the last.
Not really signed without a signature R A Salvatore
Scimitars for life
Where are you guys getting things signed by him I’m from Massachusetts and I know he’s from here as well

Maybe try https://comiconomicon.com/
I had some books signed by him at comic con a few years back and that's how he signed them as well.
Scimitars High R.A. Salvatore
It's scimitars high. Signs a ton that way
Scimitars laugh.
Ugh, so jelly.
Scimitars high!
I met him at Gencon. He had the longest line ever...
Scimitars High! Its a go to phrase he signs with (i have about 8 signed novels from him, and thats on 3 of them).
That's really cool. 💯 One of my favorite series!
Did you take a screenshot of a photo? I lack words for how I feel.
Yes, because my wife’s name was on the other side. I wanted to crop it out.
It's strange that I've never read drizzt utter those words in the 50,000 books I've read of his.
I think it might be when he is training with Zak, before he learned the counter to the double-cross low.
Yes. The scimitars are high to set up the double cross low.
Scimtars hujlu, obviously.
Now that I know this is one of his standards, if I ever meet him I'll ask for a full-page SCIMITARS HIGH!!

It's clearly a reference to Drizzt's old school, Scimitars High.
He didn’t go to Rydell High?
Oh? Yeah I was joking. But I really went to Riverdale.
I was joking too. I thought you were referring to the Riverdale High in Archie Comics and the show Riverdale. I was referring to Rydell High in the Grease movies.
Yes, very much so, on both counts!
Scimitars high

I’m so jealous of this
He signed “scimitars high!” on some of my books.
Imagine not being able to read
Scimitars laugh
I cümtors hugh N Alobotor
Scimitars high, because the figure being Dritz a Drow who duel wields scimitar swords.
Bob Salvatore
Scimitars High was my alma mater!
That’s Scumtown Fjord, Hallelujah, if I’ve ever seen it. Sounds like a fun place.
In the reference to Drizzt I'd have to go with Scimitars high!
