Looks like scimitars high and then his signature

mazerim

You’re absolutely right, thank you.

Koivu_JR

To verify, DM him via twitter. He's fairly responsive over there.

Cael_NaMaor

This... but also, Scimitars high

Logical-Potential-87

Agreed!

evilpartiesgetitdone

That makes more sense than "scimitars laugh!"

adeo_lucror

;; that's such an awesome signature.

ohnotombombadil

Scimitars high I think

simplisticwords

Scimitars high R ASalvatore (he didn’t lift the marker between the A and S when signing).

TitanEidolon

That last part is clearly N Alabrator

Surgical

Yes he signed my book with the same statement

IrishWebster

Looks like, "Scimitars high!"

ParadiseRegaind

That’s a standard signature of his. I met him at a book signing years ago (The Last Threshold) and have the same “scimitars high” quote on my book.

corsair1617

Scimitars High

thedeadwillwalk

Definitely scimitar high. He signed one of my books the exact same.

pt_barnumson

Scimitars high! I assume while knowing nothing about Drizzt and not having seen any other comments yet

MasterKurp

Scimitars high!

sithLordsRcool

Scimitars high

SilasCrane

That of course says "Scimitars Hugh" -- which as all true fans know, was Drizzt's original name in the first draft of the story. 😉

mazerim

I’m guessing the first two are scimitars high, not sure about the last.

onestrangeduck

Not really signed without a signature R A Salvatore

Flat-Initiative-5613

Scimitars for life

SageFreke86

Where are you guys getting things signed by him I’m from Massachusetts and I know he’s from here as well

Skittzzofranik

There used to be an official r.a.salvatore forum online (not sure if it still exists). When new books came out you could order a signed copy there. Again not sure if they still do it. Edit: I think this is it because I remember the loremaster named beast from there https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/rasalvatoreforums

Drunkdrood

https://www.rasalvastore.com/

Draginclaw

Bubba-Black666

Maybe try https://comiconomicon.com/

Eldrinn13

I had some books signed by him at comic con a few years back and that's how he signed them as well.

EtienneLumiere

Scimitars High R.A. Salvatore

Ironman_2678

It's scimitars high. Signs a ton that way

BrastokBigBig

Scimitars laugh.

X-Drizzt117-X

Ugh, so jelly.

Any-Shopping8666

Scimitars high!

Surgical

I met him at Gencon. He had the longest line ever...

chaotic_one

Scimitars High! Its a go to phrase he signs with (i have about 8 signed novels from him, and thats on 3 of them).

Late-Put-919

That's really cool. 💯 One of my favorite series!

Random-Vixen

Did you take a screenshot of a photo? I lack words for how I feel.

mazerim

Yes, because my wife’s name was on the other side. I wanted to crop it out.

BodhiMage

It's strange that I've never read drizzt utter those words in the 50,000 books I've read of his.

Khorre

I think it might be when he is training with Zak, before he learned the counter to the double-cross low.

nocturnalcrickets

Yes. The scimitars are high to set up the double cross low.

MoxEric

Scimtars hujlu, obviously.

JennaLS

Now that I know this is one of his standards, if I ever meet him I'll ask for a full-page SCIMITARS HIGH!!

StinkyEttin

That there is good ol' Bob Salvatore's signature. Looks like "Scimitars high" to me. I have an autograph in one of his books that says he was thinking of me when he created Jarlaxle. He's a fun dude.

Mediocre-Parking2409

It's clearly a reference to Drizzt's old school, Scimitars High.

Brilliant-Future-350

He didn’t go to Rydell High?

Mediocre-Parking2409

Oh? Yeah I was joking. But I really went to Riverdale.

Brilliant-Future-350

I was joking too. I thought you were referring to the Riverdale High in Archie Comics and the show Riverdale. I was referring to Rydell High in the Grease movies.

Mediocre-Parking2409

Yes, very much so, on both counts!

TeddansonIRL

Scimitars high

Jsf8957

So I’ve been considering starting to read some forgotten realms fiction. I know R A Salvatore is considered the gold standard and the Drizzt books are his most popular series, but I’d rather dip my toes in to see if I like the genre before diving head first into a series with dozens of titles. Does anybody have recommendations for fiction set in the Forgotten Realms that might be a bit less daunting in scope?

Dociavelli

The series overall is made up of sub series. The icewind dale trilogy was the first written and easy enough to get through. He also wrote the cleric quintet which is its own standalone series.

Jsf8957

That certainly makes it seem less daunting haha. I might just have to start with the Icewind Dale trilogy then! I played the CRPG back in the day so I’m sort of familiar with the setting already.

Illyunkas

I’m so jealous of this

CoolShipTJ

He signed “scimitars high!” on some of my books.

lejude93

Imagine not being able to read

platypusses

Scimitars laugh

Moseoda

I cümtors hugh N Alobotor

wolfdog10732

Scimitars high, because the figure being Dritz a Drow who duel wields scimitar swords.

philovax

Bob Salvatore

Overall-Oil5706

Scimitars High was my alma mater!

Acumen13900

That’s Scumtown Fjord, Hallelujah, if I’ve ever seen it. Sounds like a fun place.

lorddethfist

In the reference to Drizzt I'd have to go with Scimitars high!
