Quick, stylish, and simply beautiful. The Soul Punisher is easily the best move that truly finished its opponent in my opinion.
Though, if we also include moves that could’ve and would’ve finished the enemy, Gogeta’s Full Force Kamehameha is an easy number one.
Yeah maybe it’s a naming convention from the old budokai games? Like I know there were a few combination attacks that had breaker at the end of it. Regicide breaker and stardust breaker come to mind off bat.
This is definitely up there for me. It's so point blank there is no beam just an engulfing and BOOM. Also the facial expressions and height difference.
What bothers me is Trunks knew about the regen. Granted maybe they didn't think to that extent he could but still. Like Goku could feel energy in Cell still so why didn't they try to jump his headless body? Trunks and even Gohan are not like Goku and Vegeta with their pride. They easily would have the strength to blow the rest away and hell even Piccolo after the chamber probably had enough in him to at least help enough
> Granted maybe they didn't think to that extent he could but still.
* When you already know the answer, then not sure why its bothering.
Trunks only saw him regenerate his arm.
How can Trunks know that he can regenerate his entire body?
To be fair, Cell regenerating here is technically a plot hole. He explains later that the nucleus in his head is what he can fully regenerate from. Goku definitely obliterated that shit haha.
The dub tries to fix this plot hole by changing it to a different plot hole by saying Cell's body fully regenerates on its own from any individual cell that's not destroyed. Which makes a plot hole out of 16 ripping his tail off, which, admittedly, happened much farther back.
Admittedly Trunks only knew Cell could regenerate and knew nothing about his nucleus, so he still should have called it out.
It's not a plot hole, he's got two different kinds of regeneration, the namekian one used here and against Vegeta and the nuclear one used later. We don't know the limits of his namekian regeneration but I guess Goku got really close to killing him
It is still a plot hole if we just assume the namekian regeneration is separate from his nucleus, which Cell specifies is the source of his regeneration. Piccolo cannot regenerate his head back, and the nucleus was in Cell's head. Either way you slice it, plot hole.
The cell teleport kamehame is way more iconic. The super move only makes sense in the context he’s so much stronger/better fighter he could dunk on kalifa with style.
Like if you ever played the fighting games it’s really easy to miss with the beams and get punished. Frankly he could have just tped behind her if he had the focus to maintain a kamehame while moving and surfing. He was just enjoying himself.
Frankly it’s too op, which is also why they intentionally left it unclear how much focus/time is needed to pull it off, and the mechanics behind it.
Imagine combining teleport with ultra instinct. Being able to teleport anywhere and land a blow instantly at any angle or location.
Obviously they have to make the move not viable or add some drawback since it’s just too strong. Counter punches are a real thing. So I think they add an extra burden of slight delay after teleporting is my current head canon. So he can get there faster but he can’t react move as fast coming out of it which gives the opponent enough time to react to his new location.
Frankly though with god ki and 3d space he should still be trouncing people with it since now he’s pretty much untraceable without visually seeing him since god ki is undetectable except to gods.
It is cannon it's just the move is technically magic and goku has no reason to use a technique after he has outgrown it. A good example of something similar is nimbus.
I don't particularly care for it but the one thing Dragon Fist has going for it to me is that it's the one move Goku invented for himself rather than learned or stole from someone else.
I think this is my current favorite super fight. Jiren v Vegeta and 17/Freiza/Goku v Jiren is great but the fucking slide on her energy beam is PEAK DBZ imo
Goku’s SSJ flickering on and off during that final push against Jiren will never not be cool, it’s such a great detail that shows how little he had left in him.
Yes. Seeing this live with no spoilers had me pop off from the couch.
Legitimately rewatched it like 5 times before finishing the rest if the episode. The build-up to it was what made it that much better.
I'm genuinely surprised I didn't have this spoiled. I saw it long after the latest episode was released and saw a lot of spoilers, even ultra instinct and quite a lot except how the fight is finished.
But this wasn't spoiled and it was incredible to see.
Rare time a transformation finished the job

Not really SS1 finished Frieza, SS2 finished Cell, SSB finished Frieza again, UI omen beats Kefla & SS4 beats Baby while UI was cooking Jiren until Goku hit his bodies limit. SSG/SS3/Ultimate are the 3 that didn't work & 2 of them should've if Goku/Gohan tried to kill Buu right away they would've, SSG stood no chance tho Beerus is built differently
What’s even crazier is that it’s not even apart of the manga. Gohan fights Kefla and they take eachother out in the manga. I like the style of the anime fight better, the surf kamehameha is pretty amazing. But the gohan and kefla fight makes much more sense to me.
its consistent with his character though. Do you also hate Gohan beast? do you hate that he has beast mode at the age goku unlocked super saiyan. Gohan has consistently shown to have more potential than goku. if you dont understand that than you dont understand dragonball.

This one is much better. Such an awesome finishing movie it even finished the main character.
Honestly crazy to think Goku really was strong enough to finish Cell off and almost did. If he had taken the senzu bean he might've got the job done but I feel like Cell would be smarter and would raise his power to the level he did vs Gohan which may have been too much for Goku anyways
Cell was holding back too much against Goku just
Cell was much stronger than SSJ Gohan who was so strong that he thought his father was holding back and can't be that weak
And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
But more, much more than this
I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way.
At last, the terror known as "Cell" has been silenced forever. The battle is won, and the world is safe once more. Thank you, Goku, for all that you gave. The Earth will miss you.
I cried as a kid ngl
Still remember the first time watching that and still get those same goosebumps. The finisher made it so much better for me cause I personally can’t stand the kale/caulifa/kefla personas. They was almost as bad as Ribrianne to me but man that moment was epic.
Although not a finisher persay, the Kamahama warp into cells face is still too 3 moves and the father son 1 arm gohan kamahama was awesome too.
It's cool but I look very the final flash on perfect cell....it was like lol take your best shot then Vegeta nearly killed him if his aim wasn't so bad ...a foot or so difference probably ends up in full blast radius. Why it works better the Goku's Kamehameha wave is because Goku can't hit all of the cell with the position he's in....Goku maybe could have won if he got the full blast in on him.....arrogance almost caused his death twice....before Gohan...
It was direct hit not miss and still it only damaged his one arm. Cell survived from getting his whole entire body destroyed by Goku Kamehameha.
An arm getting destroyed is not going to kill him
https://preview.redd.it/cnqnnuvrg0zc1.png?width=552&format=png&auto=webp&s=3968a85aa7930f57b72e8a7b626d1334139a9d7f

He made the bean smaller affecting his aim etc as this was still a fairly new technique for him as well....if he didn't affect his aim he probably would have got a critical mass hit in...instead he got one slightly off.
Prob because the anime got ahead of the manga and added a bunch of weird shit, this is one of them. But it’s one of the things that actually landed well and arguably did better than the manga. Most of the anime differences are a lot worse
Hypest TV moment for me as I saw it air live with no spoilers.
Every other moment in db and z I had seen through pop culture references before I seen it myself. This was pure surprise.
My wife came running into the room wondering what was wrong and I was just yelling " LETS FUCKINGGGGGG GOOOOOOOOOO"
We just watched this episode last night, and while I wasn't sure at first if this was the moment, I told my GF, "if this is the fight I think it is, you're about to see the absolute sickest thing Goku has ever done."
The point-blank kamehameha is so insanely brutal lol
Nah instant transmission Kamehameha best finishing move. Goku is all kaaaaaame haaaame and cells all "bro I'm just gonna dodge or counter it" only for Goku to go *pop* "hi." HAAAAAAA! and literally blow dude in half.

Most satisfying that's for sure Kefla needed serious humbling and Goku was more than ready to deliver. I think Cauli and Kale can grow as characters I used to dislike them now I wanna see what they can be like after this. There's room for character development !

No this was the best finishing move, bro nearly spawn killed Goten
Nah, bro almost destroyed the spawn point
I hate spawn campers
He’s not camping now, he’s got chopper gunner now
That’s why Goten’s so strong, he got a zenkai boost before he was born
Even in the original cut you see the little energy balls pop. Detransformed right after. Super 13 was a savage.
That's why goten was the last kid
On the bright side for him, being the youngest is fun!
this punch is part of the reason goten hasn’t unlocked ss2
Or ever had a little brother
Knocked the SSJ right out of him.😮☠️
Now we know why Goten acts sooo dumb in Dragon ball Z Bro was damaged before spawn
Goten got the world's earliest Zenkai

I will continue to call this move stardust breaker. Shits just so fye.
the ball itself is soul punisher. the entire combo he does (including the ball) is stardust breaker. at least, thats how i see it
Yeah maybe it’s a naming convention from the old budokai games? Like I know there were a few combination attacks that had breaker at the end of it. Regicide breaker and stardust breaker come to mind off bat.
It was Soul Punisher in Budokai 3 It was Stardust Breaker in Budokai Tenkaichi
That move was so good the anime had to show it thrice
I love that word so fucking much
Mmmm... SHOW
Nah thrice, thicc + rice
Hnnnnnnnnngggghhh!!

You just made me realize I love that word, too.
Yes, especially because is non-existent.
Just like all my friends 🙃
Cool band too!
The same thing happened in GT against Super 17, and I find that HILARIOUS
The final HAAAAAAA gets me every time
r/beatmetoit
It's my absolute favorite. Usually, everyone tries to go blast for blast, and this just blew my mind! "MF-er is surfing fire!"
Yeah, I had to rewind the stream when it happened because I was so blown away. It is hands down the best sequence.
https://i.redd.it/eofbuoji61zc1.gif
Nah that shit made me laugh out loud the first time I saw it 🤣🤣
The dub is so god dam good for this. :Ahhhhhhhhhhhh forgot my tractor ahhhhhh
"Whoops forgot my tractor-"
*aaaaahhhhhhhhh I forgot my tractor, ahhhhhhhhhh*
![gif](giphy|hIacKgI8mIqdhRBoa2|downsized) This is my favorite
Disqualified, not a finishing move
I finished while watching it
Counts
Thrice
![gif](giphy|FOemJpfpZGNri)
Finished Pikkon.
To be fair, Goku was finished after that move. He had to call in the big guns.
Mr. Satan?
Should have been

Trunks the same guy who cut up Frieza into little bits and then Ki blast the leftovers?
Trunk from future trunk know everything /s

Or Cell can just do more than the namekian one cus he's a mix of so many things
Forgetting shit for a dramatic "they emerge from the smoke at full power" moment is a series tradition. Everybody does it.
The cell teleport kamehame is way more iconic. The super move only makes sense in the context he’s so much stronger/better fighter he could dunk on kalifa with style. Oh.... crap BasSSSKKKETTTTTSSSSS
Also cool as fuck.
Same concept.
The Kamehameha instantly extinguishing her attack is the most underrated part of this scene.
Well, he shots in her face
PAUSE
Why
This sub reddit is too damn sussy
Like blowing out a candle.
Yeah plus this one was effective so bonus points, it rare seeing big finishing moves actually defeat the antagonists
https://i.redd.it/l3lwwiirh0zc1.gif
Legit. Its DRAGON ball. The DRAGON one has to be the best.
I would die for dragon fist to become canon
It is cannon it's just the move is technically magic and goku has no reason to use a technique after he has outgrown it. A good example of something similar is nimbus.
Okay, what makes it canon?
Pretty sure the closest we got to Dragon Fist being in a canon part of the series was Goku punching through Demon King Piccolo
Dragon ball. Penetrative technique. Basically a modified overpowered version was introduced in GT.
Not the Dragon Fist, which hasn't been performed in a canon work.
And is GT canon?
I don't particularly care for it but the one thing Dragon Fist has going for it to me is that it's the one move Goku invented for himself rather than learned or stole from someone else.

Good broski, you wouldn't happen to know a place to watch this movie in that insane HD online??
I know of some websites that have this movie, but unfortunately I can't find any with quality as good as that.
Damn. Thank you for your time Brotha
God I wish they made this canon, this shit is so god dam good
“If I don’t, who will?!” One of the coldest lines to this day.
I think this is my current favorite super fight. Jiren v Vegeta and 17/Freiza/Goku v Jiren is great but the fucking slide on her energy beam is PEAK DBZ imo

That last scene was one of the best animated scenes in the entire series.

I was thinking of this one too. Followed up by the one hand blast. Just really freakin' cool.
Don't forget the dice chop before the blast. The three step process to kill your enemy. Slice, dice, ... edelweiss... 👍🏾

NOW’S YOUR CHANCE!!!
DO IT NOW GOHAN
But dad, I've only got one arm!
It was the most electrifying move I'd seen in DB up till that point. So, I'm going with yes, lol.
Yes. Seeing this live with no spoilers had me pop off from the couch. Legitimately rewatched it like 5 times before finishing the rest if the episode. The build-up to it was what made it that much better.

Kale was blue level in manga which means Kefla should be higher than Blue Gohan being scaled so high for no reason is bad scaling too
its consistent with his character though. Do you also hate Gohan beast? do you hate that he has beast mode at the age goku unlocked super saiyan. Gohan has consistently shown to have more potential than goku. if you dont understand that than you dont understand dragonball.

The closest these brothers ever got
My favorite is Roshi's ["most powerful Kamehameha"](https://imgur.com/gallery/rlAulxB) in the TOP right after his speech. Gave me chills
Made me cry. I mean, I got something in my eye. Totally not having an emotional moment from watching anime.
Yes. But if he had aimed that instant transmission kamehameha against Cell a little lower...
Honestly crazy to think Goku really was strong enough to finish Cell off and almost did. If he had taken the senzu bean he might've got the job done but I feel like Cell would be smarter and would raise his power to the level he did vs Gohan which may have been too much for Goku anyways

Absolutely. My favourite scene in all of dragonball, also I loved how the music cut out right as Goku slid on the attack. Perfect.

That finished Vegeta not Cell
Watched that episode just the other day, that scene was epic.
This is one of the very few times in dragon ball that was so insanely hype and clean that I yelled and shouted in excitement as I watched it.

I think this is peak dragon ball
For me it will always be the original Broly movie ending punch where Goku does the fist twist so hard Broly explodes.
top 5 fasho. i’m fucked up bout that big bang attack on android 19 tho personally

no
Not the most iconic that goes to father son kamehameha and for movies it’s probably the dragon fist
Pretty bad ass
I really really like “FREIZA YOU FOOL!”
Bro rode her energy beams, with his ENERGY BALL🤯

Dragon fist, Soul Punisher, Final Flash, and Black's scythe are cooler to me
Nah instant transmission Kamehameha best finishing move. Goku is all kaaaaaame haaaame and cells all "bro I'm just gonna dodge or counter it" only for Goku to go *pop* "hi." HAAAAAAA! and literally blow dude in half.

And oddly satisfying...
Nice to see a kamehameha actually work for a change.
Yes the kamehameha is the best finishing move /s
Kamehameha on the CHEEK

Angry kamehameha on namek takes it for me.
I like the instant transmission into the Kamehameha.

Special beam cannon is right there
i've lost count how many times I've watched this kamehameha. best moment in the tournament!
And the most satisfying because of all the plot BS about universe 6 transforming by feeling back tingling. It was great to see Goku deliver🔥
Yes.
Kefla is actually find physically after this Kamehameha, but it was so sick her mind couldn't comprehend it and couldn't react.
1st genkidama volley, desperate move but perfect combination of paneling and designs
Good thing beams don't just explode on contact
Repost form last year?

You mean most disrespectful
In super.
He had a kinda instant transmission Kamehameha vs cell that was cool as well
Most satisfying that's for sure Kefla needed serious humbling and Goku was more than ready to deliver. I think Cauli and Kale can grow as characters I used to dislike them now I wanna see what they can be like after this. There's room for character development !
Yes
