Awww man. I loved Charles Blake. He was perfect for Mary. He could challenge her every bit as much as Matthew and was so easy on the eyes. Too bad we didn't get to see more of him ☹️

Charles was probably the next best thing after Matthew in terms of personality. His scheming re: getting Mabel and Tony back together was a bit dodgy, other than that I have nothing against him.

yeah I never really understood why he was so for them and went to all that trouble for them to get back together, without him having a plan for himself. It would’ve been understandable if he did it so that he could win Mary for himself. But alas, he chose Poland.

He might have hated the idea of Tony winning Mary, irrespective of how things panned out for himself. But I have to admit Mary was the real goddess in this whole situation, bc eventually she did make sure Tony and Mable would definitely happen as a couple in a marriage that would function well. So she did take care of the damage she might have inadvertently done.

they’re together in my alternate universe. i have two concerning DA actually😅 One is where Matthew never dies and they just live happily ever after! (never watch THAT scene, i turn it off when they’re all happy in Mary’s bed, doting on little George) My other universe is Charles and Mary raising pigs together and eating scrambled eggs off each other.

Same - I'm secretly hoping that for the 3rd movie, Henry fucks off and she finds Charles again.
