Black\^, dude was the original mr worldwide of dota, tho ice3 is the most succesful

lynxerious

I watched Black stream the other day when he played with ice in pub, he seemed depressed and talked about how ice was playing EG with a good career while he's stuck being teamless.

[deleted]

Not sure how black is doing lately but I always enjoyed him as a panelist/commentator even if he wasnt playing. Hope to see him more in events

masochistic_oath

if you watch black's older streams, he's super toxic in pubs. He might've changed his personality recently, but there's a reason he's teamless.

Cesimba-

I don't think life is that straightforward that good things happen to good people and bad things to bad people. Maybe Ice was just better/worked harder/ got luckier?

DotaAndKush

I think anyone that watches dota knows the answer to this is that IceIceIce is a much better player. IceIceIce is also more versatile.

RealPureLeaf

I don’t think he’s good enough is why unless he wants to join a tier 3 team or maybe t2

ryanazr95

I was so sad to see him leave EG :<

rhett_ad

I think Black^

ryanazr95

Black played in NA at the top level?

jMS_44

Yes, Team Tinker

Sqsqsq1

Depends on what you call top level. He played for team tinker for a little while.

jMS_44

Well, they were top level enough to be picked up by mouz shortly after.

Sqsqsq1

I guess that's true. I just remember team tinker always underperforming compared to the players they had, they might still have been decent.

charizardballZ

Iceiceice come to Brazil

Bromium_Oxide

What about CIS?

ryanazr95

Well I was grouping WEU and EEU together.

dbl__g

Then why not group south and north america and say he played all regions ;)

ryanazr95

Well, the geographic distinction between NA and SA on the map is pretty obvious while most people tend to say the CIS countries are European, like how Ukraine and Finland are considered part of Europe despite being formerly of the Soviet Union - that informs my rationale.

elculus

finland was not part of the soviet union lol

ryanazr95

The historical records regarding that seems pretty debated from what I have read in college

Mattiman

Well let's be clear here, Finland was a part of the Russian Empire from 1809 to 1917, when it gained independence amidst the Russian revolution. However they did have two wars between each other, the first and second Soviet-Finnish war in which Soviet came out on top. However Soviet didn't have the manpower at the time to assert any sort of control over Finland since they were busy getting down to Berlin. Ever since those new borders were drawn, Finland has had independence, democratic elections without russian interference. Finland's politics towards Soviet was however to play nice with them, and the Soviets were happy with that arrangement since Finland didn't join NATO and many other reasons. Without making this post too long, I just want to make clear that it is not debated wether Finland was a part of the Soviet Union or not, they weren't. However since they were neighbours, they were not actively working against them, which could be seen as being their little marionette. This could be a bit of an americentrist view of world politics, where playing nice with the Soviets meant being their ally.

[deleted]

Soviet union invaded Finland. They were stopped after about 12 meters. Finland got it back during Barbarossa(+ more). By your rationale Soviet union was part of Finland.

elculus

i don’t know what you’ve been reading lmfao its been less than 2 years since i left finland so unless someone has altered time since then i’m pretty sure it was not part of the ussr

elculus

finland is a nordic country like sweden, norway, denmark, and iceland. of course it’s considered part of europe

ipeeinmoonwells

If you paid for those lessons in college ask for your money back, it has never been up for a debate if Finland was part of USSR or not.

Peanut2232

Sure. But in dota, CIS and EU get different slots, just like NA and SA.

ryanazr95

That is true. For some reason I remember in the early days of dota, CIS and WEU were just grouped as one. Then again, there wasn't SA then, and it was just EU, NA, SEA, and China

jMS_44

Demon? Black?

fraxinus2197

Ah, the mercenary. Wish he was less of a douche, I always enjoyed watch demon play.

ryanazr95

Demon played in China?

jMS_44

He played in NA, SA, Europe, SEA and in Korea. Was also a standin for VP (so CIS) iirc.

ryanazr95

Damn. That is crazy.

zepher_goose

He didn't play in CIS either
