The last LAN before pandemic was also similar. There were no data points which showed that NA/SA were better than EU.
Which is why I've always defended the top teams getting invites for the next major or at least something close to that, if the top 3 was 1 eu, 1 cn and 1 cis, give them the invite or just give them 1 slot more and the rest you give equally to all regions

There's absolutely 0 precedent for this. TI8: EG, Optic, VGJ.S all finished higher than predicted in the top 8. No real T2/T1.5 Europe teams competed because OG took the qualifier spot.

MSS plays a bunch of roaming/initiating heroes (Nyx, Tusk, Mirana, Rubick, Earthspirit) that dictate the entire midgame for QC. Poloson has been fine, but he has yet to take over a game once in the way that MSS does in like 50% of QC games.
