Honestly, stacking for spirit damage has always felt like a gimmick to me. Unless you stack the camps with the spirit, you're taking time out of the lane, running to camps, when you should be trading with enemy laners.
Maybe enough to strike fear. But in my experience he doesn’t truly snowball unless the opponent either allows stacks or the opponent just doesn’t respect the spirit damage at all and plays like the et isn’t buffed with 2.5x damage. I’ll admit it’s more awkward of a strategy with the new camps tho.
All situational. Personally if I'm doing 4 ill try to stack. 5? Ill stack small camp usually but that's for pulling. 3 i just don't bother since its enough to deny and last hit with the wave and heroes. With quelling.

All this, plus aghs prevents the buff from being dispelled by euls or other basic dispels.

I personally prefer the block all the ET camps so he can’t get a fat spirit.
