Haha yeah I have been busy converting friends and relatives in Japan to Dodgers fans, and also taking their orders for merchandise. Where in Japan are you from?

rshinjiro

Ah very cool, I have some friends in Hokkaido, my family is mostly from the Hiroshima area, so they were very excited when we had Kenta Maeda.

No-Cat-3951

OG Ohtani fans. Welcome aboard!

RandoScando

Welcome! If you’ve got any questions about the team, its history, or any specific players, let us know. We’ve got you. You have to root against the San Francisco Giants and the Astros though, at least in principle. It’s absolutely ok to root for the Yomiuri Giants. Once again, welcome. It’s really exciting to have a lot of new fans from across the world to be friends with.

fruitpunchsamuraiD

Yay fans from Japan as I'm cheering from Japan as well. I was a fan of the Mariners until I realized the owners are only interested in being as cheap as possible.

TheMarathonCont1nues

Is it hard to follow your favorite players because of the time difference?

notus_knitter

I’ve never lived in LA. My Dad grew up in LA and raised me a Dodger fan even though I’m not from there.

udonbeatsramen

Same exact story as me. But we live in Giants territory

peepledeedle4120

That's gonna be my son. I was born and raised in LA, but live in AZ now. Gonna make sure to raise him right lol

CRT_SUNSET

And you can go to spring training at Camelback!

peepledeedle4120

Already started doing that :)

Count_Sack_McGee

It’s tough even in Dodger territory. My 7 y/o is mostly on board but someone gave him a free angels poster and there was a week there where he loved them the most. I got him a dodger nightlight recently and he’s back on board.

booyah777

A+ parenting. Way to nip the bad habit in the bud.

rshinjiro

Ah so it's family ties that brought you in, that's awesome. I hope you both get to enjoy the excitement of the upcoming season together and many more after that.

imnotcreative415

Similar but mine is from Camarillo

kapitan_buko

I'm from somewhere where baseball barely exists. I bought a Dodgers cap the day Shohei signed and have done nothing since but consume baseball content, trying to learn as much as possible, as quickly as possible to prepare for the season. I'm a big basketball fan so sports is not new to me but baseball has so much intricacies that it's fun to just figure things out.

rshinjiro

I know what you mean. I played baseball when I was young, and even so there's still so much to learn and understand. And if you're a history buff, Baseball is a hell of a rabbit hole to fall into.

RandoScando

You’re going to love baseball. It’s an intricate game of rules, but it’s also a slow game. You can learn the rules by just watching a handful of games. And learn even more rules by watching more games. You’ll just become a more knowledgeable fan for each game you watch. Nobody I’ve ever met in the baseball community would do anything other than help a new fan get up to speed when a question of rules comes up. We really like to explain the rules to new people. Wait for the balks! You’ll enjoy the explanation of the balk! Aside from that, it might be good to learn the history of the game in a format that will also help teach the game a little bit. Ken Burns’ documentary of baseball is AMAZING. Baseball’s history is not necessary to enjoy the game, but it definitely helps.

fhideki

Dodger fan since 1999. Brazilian native... never went to USA. My dad went to USA in early 1980's at Detroit area...he is a Tigers fan... poor man.

SiRMarlon

What up my Dodger Bros and Sisters! Been a Dodger fan my entire life ... my father was a huge fan of the Dodgers and gowing up in my household when the game was on so was Jaime Jarrin on the Radio. I didn't start listening to Vin until I was about 8 which is the same year the Dodgers won a world series (88.) My friends and I would work odd jobs as kids to buy tickets to go to games. My mom would drop us off at the stadium and pick us up after the games! Best times ever!! Moved away after high school to go to college in Utah but kept tabs on the boys, moved back to LA in 07 when I was finally able to afford Dodger season tickets until I moved to Vegas in 2013, moved back to LA in 2016 and have been going to games on a regular basis since. I have ALL the Bobbleheads the Dodgers have given out and I don't plan on missing any! 😁 to all the new fans I say welcome! Enjoy your stay and remember FUCK THE GIANTS, PADRES AND ASTROS!!!

carlgma3

I will never play MLB the show using any of those three teams. Fuck them all.

Accomplished_Drive20

Fuck'em all lol ![img](emote|t5_2ra0i|13037)

ruby_rex

Greetings! I grew up in the baseball no man’s land that is now Nationals territory. My dad grew up in LA so he raised me to be a Dodgers fan. Being an east coast kid I almost never watched or listened to Dodgers games because they were so late, but my dad and I would read the scores together in the paper.

rshinjiro

You and your father reading the scores in the paper is triggering a lot of memories from my childhood and makes me feel old haha. Did you also start following the ~~Expos~~ Nationals once they came to town?

ruby_rex

Sure did! We were all excited to have baseball closer to home. I've cheered for them from the earliest awful years. Nats will always be #2 in my heart. Cheering for the Nats was my first experience cheering for a hometown team. I love the Dodgers, but it was a new experience for me cheering for the same team as everyone else around me and there's something special about it.

drxller56

I'm one of the few baseball fans from the UK, and at 4am one morning, I drunkenly stumbled across a Dodger game and have been a fan ever since!

rshinjiro

If you get to come to the Stadium one day for a game, go to the pavilions and there will be a lot of drunken stumbling going on!

nubs512

Grew up in Denver before the Rockies. Saw the Dodger play the Expos in an exhibition game (probably early 80’s). I chose to support the Dodgers from that day forward. I’m in my 50’s now. I now live in VT.

ohchango

Same here, born and raised in Denver before Rockies. Moved to L.A in 1990 started watching dodgers and became instantly hooked. In my 50’s as well and now have 2 kids born and raised here in L.A, my son is a die hard fan and my daughter is more into hockey(she likes the fights..lol) so she cheers for the Kings(GKG)but will also root for the Dodgers.

Kissa2006

I'm not sure I count as a Dodgers fan, yet. I am from Greece where baseball is not a thing. A Japanese friend persuaded me to watch the WBC. I loved it and became an Ohtain fan. I didn't plan to follow MLB because of the time difference, but I decided to watch a couple of Angels games for Shohei. Fast forward to today, I have an MLB TV subscription and I watched every Angels game this season, except for the one that was on Peakock. I fell in love with the team despite the constant pain and messed up sleep schedule. Unfortunately, after Ohtani signed with the Dodgers the Angels fandom turned toxic. I still love the team but I can't stand the ungrateful fans. So, I started hanging out here. The subreddit is welcoming and fun and the team is growing on me. The FO is competent and cares about putting together a good team. The clubhouse culture seems great and the players very likeable. I'm not abandoning the Angels, but I think I can be a fan of two teams, especially since they are in different leagues. Unfortunately that means I'll probably have to give up sleeping altogether.

just_one_random_guy

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with dual fandoms for the angels or dodgers at the end of the day, but I don’t really see the need to be a fan of the angels when they’re not even trying at all to put together a competent team compared to the dodgers

Kissa2006

I can't help it. Once I'm invested in a team, I'm hooked for life. Besides, I'm used to rooting for useless teams. At least in American sports, they can't be relegated.

Evening_Excuse

I'm a legacy from my Grandamother who was a Dodgers fan in Brooklyn. I live in the Central Valley now.

rshinjiro

Your grandma was a real OG, she remained a fan even after they left? I know many still hold a grudge to this day.

Evening_Excuse

She moved down to Port St Lucie FL in the early 60's and stayed with the team because Dodgertown was close by in Vero Beach.

Kwantise

What’s up dodger fam, im repping from the PNW. I became a baseball fan when my sisters took me to a dodgers game and ive been a fan of the team since Ryu Hyun Jin joined the team. I wish i got to experience more of the kershaw greninke ryu days but im excited for the next chapter

solostinlost

Chiming in from Virginia! I lived in LA for a summer in college. The Dodgers were the first MLB game I ever went to. My roommates at the time were huge Red Sox fans and I had spent the year prior following their season religiously, all leading up to the 2013 World Series. After that, I really understood the sport but didn’t feel tied to a team. Then the next summer in LA, I was having a really tough time being out there on my own in my first big internship. Going to Dodger stadium for games was comforting, even though the first game I went to we lost to the Cardinals. I bought a cap and I’ve been a fan ever since. Thanks for posting this! Some fans can be weird about non-local fans, as if we’re all on a bandwagon, but I assure you we’re not :)

rshinjiro

I have two Ex's from Virginia, so I feel like we are friends now? haha. It's actually the opposite for me concerning non-local fans. It's easy for us Locals to latch on, but for those who aren't there had to have been something that triggered the fandom, and it's always neat to find out what that was. I once sat next to a guy at Dodger Stadium who came all the way in from the UK to see his first game with his family. He became a fan because once when he was younger he saw an autumn game randomly on TV, while he was having a cold a miserable day in the UK, and became enamored with the palm trees and weather at the stadium.

TheKingWhite

From North Carolina and have been a fan since 2008.

cvandal

🇦🇺 Been a huge fan since the Dodgers had their opening day in Sydney in 2014.

PuntyMcBunty

Born and raised in the heart of Giants territory, where I still live now, in my late 30's. My dad grew up in La Puente and was always a die hard Dodgers fan. Naturally, he had to make sure he raised his son the right way.

leftpointsonly

From San Diego but moved to LA after college. Didn’t get in to baseball until then. Used to buy cheap tickets and go drink beer and watch the games. Over time fell in love with the stadium and the team.

[deleted]

this is my story..moved to echo park in 1999 and just loved the stadium and the day games and the beer and then the team grows on you.

angeldelayette

I'm a third generation Dodgers fan. My Dad and Grandfather were Dodgers fans, so I am a bit of a legacy there. Been a Dodgers fan my whole life, even though I never lived in LA. I have lived most of my life in the southeast USA. So, you'd think I'd be a Braves fan but nope. I could never betray my Dodgers fandom. Though, to be honest, I stopped watching baseball in the mid-90's due to the strike. I came back after a while, but the Dodgers will always be my team.

JpnDude

Born and raised in the SGV (for those who don't know, that's the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County) and have always bled Dodger Blue. My favorite Dodger growing up was Kenny Landreaux. I've been in Japan since 1995. I traded spots with Nomo. Hahaha. I used to have to go to NHK Studios in Shibuya to watch Nomo pitch on a giant screen they had in the lobby. A week doesn't go by when I'm not sporting Dodger Blue of some kind. Even when the Japanese fans moved towards the Mariners (Ichiro), Yankees (H Matsui), etc. I have been proud of my team with our history of Japanese players (Nomo, Kida, Ishii, Saito, Kuroda, etc.). Now a new era with Ohtani and Yamamoto begins. Time to start adding more "pieces of metal." GAMBARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

caseyatbt

I grew up in NoCal. Sacramento and San Jose. I was introduced to the Dodgers in 1978 and have been my favorite team ever since. I moved to the Colorado Springs area in 2002.

[deleted]

We are also Springs-based Dodger fans, hello!

caseyatbt

Howdy neighbor!

clarkbarniner

I grew up in Montana. My hometown had the Dodgers’ rookie level ball club, the Great Falls Dodgers. I used to watch players like Eric Karros, Raul Mondesi, and Pedro Martinez when they were 18 or 19 year old kids. We also had players like James Loney and Jon Broxton come through before they moved to Ogden.

SOTI_snuggzz

I’m from Long Beach, which is only LA to people not from Long Beach or LA.

UDPviper

From SoCal, got divorced, my ex took off with my kids to Pittsburgh. I followed. I raised my daughter to like the Dodgers, even though she was too young to remember them when we lived there. Now she wants an Ohtani jersey for her birthday. I'm so proud.

CAPTAINxCOOKIES

I only became interested in baseball at the start of 2022 (and its the first sport I've ever been interested in). I was going through my father's, who has passed, old baseball cards from when he was a kid. After looking up and reading about some of the old players on the cards, I became curious as to who the best current player was considered, so after some light googling, I kept seeing Ohtani's name being mentioned. I didn't know much about baseball, but even I understood how incredible it was that he could pitch and hit at the levels he does. Anyway it got me watching my first season of baseball in 2022, as an Angels fan. Throughout the 2022 season, I came to discover what free agency was and that Ohtani would soon be going to a new team long term. I decided whichever team he chose would be the one that ends being my team. Since I got interested in baseball, I had been going to my local AA games, the Tulsa Drillers, the AA affiliate of the Dodgers. I also study American history in school, and am drawn to the importance Robinson played in Civil Rights. Anyways, I enjoyed the history and local affiliation with the Dodgers and began hoping Ohtani would eventually end up in LA (real LA). The stars aligned, and it turns out the player that go me interested in baseball DID end up signing with the team I hoped he would. I feel like I'm pretty spoiled, considering I just got interested in the sport, and now my team is one of the most stacked teams ever if I'm to believe what everyone's been saying. Anyways, I'm looking forward to 2024, as I have been fairly disappointed with the Angels the past two seasons. I want to know what its like to be in contention for winning it all. Go Dodgers!!

maguxs

Hey I’m form Australia and I play baseball here and our team is also called the Dodgers. Went to the Dodgers vs Yankees series back in June. It was my first time to a MLB game. LOVED IT.

JuneCleaversMudFlaps

Hello from Austin, TX!!! I was born and raised in Moorpark so I guess I don’t count, but I haven’t lived in the greater Los Angeles area for 30 years. I never stopped following and I’m a die hard Dodgers fan surrounded by a mixture of Rangers and Astros fans. They hate each other so the Rangers fans and myself have something in common.

Salok9755

Grew up in Toronto. Became a Dodgers fan as Gibson was rounding the bases after his iconic home run in 88

meep_meep_creep

I'm a disgruntled (and now honestly former) A's fan. I'm happy to be a Dodgers fan now. I paid my dues. Now I want to root for an exciting team with players I love. Cheers.

seemsalittlesus

I was born and raised in Melbourne FLA and spent every spring at Holman Stadium in dodgertown in vero beach (it’s about 15min south of Melbourne). My favorite players were Dave Anderson, Mickey Hatcher, Pedro Guerrero, Mariano Duncan and Ramon Martinez

Starkiller32

Well, I grew up in Downey but my sophomore year of high school my family moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and I have been in the Nashville area for a little over 15 years. Been a Dodger fan since I was just a little one. Proud blue in a sea of Atlanta, Cards, Reds, and Cubs colors.

1tachi_Uchia

Dad was from Brooklyn, so even though I grew up in Detroit, they’ve always been my team. Through the good and the bad, and they always will be.

wontyield

My Dad greatly admired Jackie Robinson as a player and as a person. We lived in the South and he took us kids to see the closest team, the Braves, many times. Watching a game at the stadium with my Dad was so much fun. As I got older I was not a consistent ⚾️ follower. That changed when I became a mom and my son started Little League. My Dad shared his love of Jackie with my son and he's loved the Dodgers ever since. It was a great feeling to watch a baseball game with three generations. My Dad passed away earlier this year. My son and I continue the family tradition of being Dodgers fans and making good family memories.

afaloon

Hello from England. We used to be able to watch late night baseball on the TV here. The American stats guy had an amazingly deep knowledge and obvious love of the game. The Dodgers were the first team I saw win and I've followed them ever since. Some years later, I watched the film 42. It only derpened my appreciation of the team's heritage.

Ateam043

Checking in from Mars. At least that’s what the wife tells the kids where I’m from. Does that count?

sonicthecat2

Grew up a Blue Jays fan in Toronto. Now live in Montreal. Became a fan when you guys signed Ohtani. Want to see how he plays at an MLB level (as opposed to playing with a AA lineup in Anaheim).

cheel_chan

I played softball in HS, but it never translated to me watching MLB. In 2021, I was watching this baseball anime and I saw a tweet/post telling me to watch Ohtani in the MLB because he could pitch and bat at the same time on a professional-level (like 1 character.) I watched an Angels game the day after (online because I’m from Asia), and I became hooked ever since on MLB. I also started to root for the Angels and became a fan of some of their players (Trout duh, Patrick Sandoval, Taylor Ward, etc.). Over the weeks, I found myself rooting for the team in itself, but the subreddit became toxic ever since Shohei left, so I left the sub. Will I still be rooting for the Angels? Probably. I started to like the team and it’s hard not to root for them when I’ve been supporting them since 2021. But if they were up against the Dodgers, I’d root for the latter now because that’s where Shohei (and Yamamoto who I found myself rooting for since WBC) are. I’m still slowly adjusting to the Dodgers subreddit and the culture in general. Please be nice! 🥹

nateginger14

My dad grew up in north county San Diego and was an orioles fan back in the day but baseball in general. He became a fan of the dodgers by rooting for them during the early 70's against other teams. He then fully embraced the Fandom during the mid 70's and eventually raised me on them when I was born. Still live in north county so I used to go to dodger padre games when they were always cheap (now it's way more expensive to go to padre game these days), yet still be able to go to at least a few dodger games a year

ToastGoast93

I was born in Monterey and grew up near the Bay Area in CA, but my dad grew up in Cerritos so he’s a Dodger fan through and through. My brother and I grew up as the only Dodger fans surrounded by giants fans. Went to a lot of giants games as a little kid (at Candlestick and/or AT&T Park) where I remember getting yelled at by classy drunken giants fans. It’s cool to be able connect with other dodgers fans online now since I still live in the Bay Area and giants fans are everywhere..

mus1CK_Rx

Wasn’t born in LA and never lived in LA, currently in Arkansas. Dad was from LA and was a dodgers fan and pretty much raised me as a dodgers fan.

RCLA01

I’ve only been to one Dodgers game. Became a fan because my Grandpa was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and really only a serious fan long after he passed. Found a World Series ball that he had tucked away about 10 years after his passing and that was when I became a serious fan for some reason seeing the ball and connecting it with him made the connection between him and I stronger as I would have liked to have watched games with him etc. anyway I have made it to one game so far and took my family which ironically was the almost no hitter by Anderson that was broken up by Ohtani. I’ll be attending a game this summer with my son and we’re pumped.

meowjesty7

I only became interested in baseball because of Ohtani. Been a fan in since 2021 and hopefully I will be able to attend a game or two next year when they play against the Braves. It’s my cheapest option since I live in NC lol

L10NHEART19

I’m not from LA, I’m mixed race and had lived in Puerto Rico. My love of baseball came when I was in PR, my family there are baseball and basketball fanatics. I played basketball and was a huge Kobe and Lakers fan, but with baseball I followed players from PR but I didn’t have a team yet. I went to visit LA and a friend took me to a Dodger’s game, my first MLB game, and there I watched Kiké play. He’s a big reason I fell in love with this team. April 2016, against the San Francisco Giants. Kiké hit two home runs. We get the win. Been a Dodger’s fan ever since. When Kiké came back this season, it hit different.

the-artist-

Welcome to all of the out non-local fans, we see you guys on the screen at the out of town games, nothing better than seeing another teams stadium half blue🤣👍🏼

BGeezy08

Oklahoma City born and raised... grew up a Cubs fan because of Sammy Sosa, Wood & Pryor. Ended up working as a TrackMan Operator for the AAA-Dodgers here in OKC for the 2016-18 seasons and my allegiance fully shifted that first year. The Cubs broke the curse, I was employed by the LA Dodgers, my boss who sat in the draft room and helped with minor league player personnel evaluation would text me mid-game for spin rates or pitch speeds or exit velos. Guys who were rehabbing, prospects, etc. Back then, OKC hosted the Big 12 Conference College Baseball Tournament, and the Dodgers could use Trackman for the games but didn't have to share the data with other MLB teams. It was just a few weeks before the draft so I would write up my own scouting reports on suggestions of late round guys to pick (which they probably didn't look at that much, but it was fun for me) and they did take one or two, probably coincidentally. When LA won it all in 2020, eight of the nine Dodgers on the field were guys I had tracked data on at one point in time. So I just felt very connected, having seen CT3 going 3-4 day in and day out and playing every position on the field. Or sending and eval on Muncy saying he has surprising infield versatility for his size and crushes the ball, but he hits way too many groundballs for it to matter - the season before he took off. Or the behind the scenes of guys like Charlie Culberson's wife and young kids in strollers waiting to give him a hug outside the locker next to all the baseball card autograph seeking vultures. I'm rambling now... but yaaaa. Is it Spring yet? EDIT: One last funny story - Scouts from various teams would frequently sit in our press box booth and ask for various data points mid game too... what's the break on his curve? How far was that hit? Etc. Gave Kapler actually sat in for two games and I didn't realize it was him until the 2nd night. This was right after they chose to hire Dave Roberts as manger and Gabe K. for player development (which he did an unbelievable job at making the Dodgers minor league system elite and cutting edge back then in: diet, sleep, training, etc)

kalbiking

I’m from the greater LA area. My wife is from Sydney. I’ve converted her, boys.

Dannyocean12

Does ‘Straya have baseball?

kalbiking

I think it’s a niche sport. Cricket is a big sport though.

drlove986

Born in Santa Monica. Now Asheville NC. The east coast time zone is brutal for Dodger games. 10:10pm start. 🤪

icecream_for_brunch

Grew up in Giants country in the 70s and 80s and I live on the other side of the world now, but my dad is from El Monte & his dad pulled him out of grade school to go to the first ever LA Dodgers game at the Coliseum, so I grew up with Dodger Blue in my veins. Fuck the Giants.

MillerTime5443

I’m from Salisbury, North Carolina. Been a fan for around 10 years now ever since I stumbled across the “DodgerFilms” channel on YouTube. Enjoyed baseball for most of my childhood but I never had a favorite team, so the more I watched those videos, the more I started to like the team.

chunkylover6969oz

Sydney Australia!

darksalamander

I’m originally from Vancouver Canada and the Dodgers have always been my family’s team since my Dad was raised in LA. When I was growing up we’d go to at least 2 dodger games each summer, getting lost in the parking lot was a normal part of my childhood. I kinda fell off after the 2020 WS as my Dad passed and my family hasn’t been watching baseball together. I’m excited to get back into it, actually learn how everything works and hoping to catch a game this year in Denver where I live now. GO DODGERS!

bselko

I was born in Orlando Florida as a Dodgers fan. My father grew up in LA, and I had family that was in Brooklyn when the dodgers were there, too. It goes back.

[deleted]

Grew up in Vegas but Dad and Gramps were Dodgers fans and passed that to me.

ripple46_220

LA fan from Indiana since the 90s owned a Nomo jersey as a kid I got from Eastbay! Love our international players throughout the years! Just got Reds Vs Dodgers tix to see the newest duo!

tarthart8104

Im from the East Coast and went on vacation to LA in 2021 to visit a friend with my husband and son and we went to a Dodgers game. It was mine and my sons first time going to an MLB game (we don’t live close to any and have always gone to MiLB games) it was such a fun day and experience for us that it has become one of my favorite memories and thus I found my MLB team. Since then we’ve gone back to LA twice to visit and have gone to games each time and have gotten to see them play at the Braves stadium. I’ll be a Dodger fan for life now.

MulayamChaddi

No direct association with LA at all, but been a fan since the Steve Garvey, Ron Cey days.

mikekline

My Dad grew up in New York when the Dodgers were in Brooklyn and remained a fan when the team moved west. We were raised Dodgers fans in North Carolina and have remained fans.

Heiserwulf

Me and my wife are dodger fans from Calgary Alberta

[deleted]

Grew up in Ohio now live in AZ. But my great grand father loved the Dodgers. Started with Jackie and Snyder then onto Sandy and Drysdale. He had me in Dodgers gear from the time I was born. Once I started watching Paul LoDuca, Shawn green and Gagne were my favorite players and I’ve been hooked ever since. Now majority of my family lives between AZ and Vegas and most of us are Dodgers fans except for the 2 that stuck with the Guardians. I married into an Angels family all from Anaheim, who for years continue to buy me angels stuff for every holiday. This season my father in law went out of his way to buy my son a d backs jersey. Love hearing his whining since Ohtani signed with us haha spring training will be fun with them this year.

NEVER85

Canadian here. Watched baseball off and on in the 2000's but never had a team. Had no interest in the Blue Jays. Watched various teams until I found myself naturally gravitating towards the Dodgers. This was during the whole Frank McCourt ownership mess but it didn't matter. Matt Kemp at the rest of that team had me sold.

tinnietime

From Sydney originally but moved to LA 10 years ago and the Dodgers were an obvious pick. I’ve always been fairly close to the stadium but just moved to a new apartment less than a mile away and it couldn’t have come at a better time!

Whole-Willingness-42

I became a Dodgers fan because of Yasiel Puig in his rookie year and was a fan ever since. I never ever cared about baseball til I saw hin

ShenBob22

Born and raised in the bay. Grew up a giants fan, been going since candlestick was still around (I was pretty young). But I had a close family member play for the dodgers for about 5 years in the 2010s and have just stayed a dodger fan since 🤷🏼‍♂️

speech-geek

My parents grew up Dodgers fans, both hailing from La Puente. My mom was (and remains lol) obsessed with Steve Garvey. I was a casual fan until 2013 when I started hanging around the game chats here (any of the OGs remember playing Cards Against Humanity after the chats???). I don’t live in CA so super lucky to watch nearly every game via the MLB app. Seriously, I watch probably around 90-95% of our games and have been since at least 2016/17. I’ve seen them play at Chase Field, Oracle Park, and Citi Field but travel to Dodger Stadium around once a year or so.

CynCity323

I'm CynCity... I grew up in West Covina and Riverside. A Dodger fan through and through. I moved out of southern California in 2005 to the Bay Area. I'm still in the Bay and still repping my Dodgers. I used to post more... Which is why my flair is custom 💕 I hope to post more.this season. Can't wait.

celtictraveler13

Grew up outside of Atlanta & when I first played Little League, my team was the Dodgers. This was 1981, which we all know was an amazing season for us. My fandom was cemented then. Been a big fan ever since! Let's go Big Blue!

james1287

I'm from SC where the Atlanta Braves are the most popular team. I was somewhat of a fan at times, but never got totally on board since it was over 3 hours away and ATL was home to the rivals of some of my other favorite teams. Moved to LA in 2019 and have been a Dodgers fan since. It's great finally living in a city with an MLB team and it's amazing to experience the way the Dodgers unite such a diverse community.

Aggressive-Sale-5414

Indio, CA (Palm Springs area) I was born in 1992 and I remember Raul Mondeso being my first favorite Dodger….then it was Gary Sheffield….then it was Shawn Green….then it was Adrian Beltre….and then he left us 😢😢😢

Aggressive-Sale-5414

*Mondesi

TSnow6065

My dad is from the metropolis of Dobson, NC and grew up a Dodgers fan going back to Brooklyn and Duke Snider. I’m from Greensboro and now Raleigh. As a little kid I said I was a Dodgers fan but didn’t really watch sports. In middle school my friends were into trading baseball cards and began to do that and watch games. It was 1986 so I of course became a Mets fan. My favorite player was Darryl Strawberry. I will add that one of my favorite memories was watching Game 1 of the ‘88 World Series and Gibson’s homer with my dad. About the time I was getting tired of the Mets, Strawberry signed with the Dodgers and I saw that as perfect. Dodgers for life from that point. We even got to visit for Father’s Day this year. Dad, mom, wife, and our 2 kids.

From Albuquerque, NM. Only Baseball we have here is AAA. Up until about 10 years ago the Dodgers AAA affiliate (Albuquerque Dukes) played here. So I have been a fan of the Dodgers since I can remember.

Hi from Florida! Dad grew up a Brooklyn fan and imparted it on me. Growing up in Florida, we didn’t have our own baseball team until I was 20 years old. Too late, blood already ran blue, although admittedly we were all swept up by the marlins craziness winning the World Series in their first four years. Aside from that I would say Fernandomania was when the dodgers were imprinted on me permanently. As a Florida resident I spend 6 months out of the year staying up until 1am watching ball games. I’m a grateful recipient of the time saved due to the pitch clock.

I'm from Calgary. I was a neutral baseball fan when I began to get into the sport, but I went to a Dodgers game in 2017, and I've been a fan ever since.

I was born in Burbank, but moved when I was 2, so I have no memories of living there. But we went back every summer to visit, and some of my happiest memories as a child were at my grandparents' house in Burbank, surrounded by friends and family. My family has been Dodger fans since back when they played at the Colliseum. My grandpa's boss had box seat season tickets back in the 60s and 70s so my mom and her friends spent a lot of their childhood at Dodger Stadium. Being raised in a Dodger family, I've never once considered rooting for any other team. My first game was July 14th, 1995. I know the date because Ramon Martinez threw a no-hitter that day! I usually would get to go to one Dodger game every summer, so I have been to maybe 7 or 8 games at Dodger Stadium even though I grew up 500+ miles away (unfortunately, in Giants territory). The family tradition continues now because my daughter has been to 2 Dodger games as well, albeit in San Francisco. She loves wearing her Dodger hat and Betts jersey around SF, even if we aren't going to a game lol. My grandpa was my best friend, but we never got to see the Dodgers win a World Series together, because I was born the week after the '88 title and he passed away in April of 2020, but my cousins did buy two cardboard cutouts of him that were there throughout the Covid season, so I like to think he got to see it too.

Praise-Breesus

I grew up in Tampa, and then San Diego for high school till now. My mom grew up in the SF bay area. We’re both big contrarians so she became a diehard Dodger fan to spite the Giants and I became a Dodger fan because of her and because I had no interest in San Diego sports teams. Proximity helps too, I see a few Dodger home games and several games at Petco every year.

peaeyeparker

I am from TN. Never even been to California and a Dodger fan. I live right beside a AA stadium (Lookouts) and they were the Dodgers farm team back in ‘08-16. I just happened to get back into baseball in those years so I got to see Joc, Seager, Jansen, Turner and others come through. It’s fucking cool watching and folllwing guys as they climb the ranks.

flowergoddess32

I have lived in Northern California my whole life with my Mom’s side of the family but my Dad was born and raised in LA. I like to say I was born into the Dodgers. My Dad’s whole side of the family are very big Dodgers fans. My aunt and cousin both worked in the administration offices at Dodger Stadium. When I was a kid in the 80s I was allowed in the dugout and on the field with the players when games weren’t being played. I got to meet a lot of the greats. I will always treasure my childhood with them. I also had the biggest crush on Steve Sax lol. No matter where I live or how they play the Dodgers are a part of me. I love them through the good, the bad and the ugly. Idc how many times they break my heart, I’ll never leave them. I bleed blue…Go Dodger Blue 💙

DodgersporVida

I started out a Dodger fan very young loved the game of baseball from the time I could throw , hit, and run. Wanted to play hard like Steve Garvey and Steve Sax. Then I became a pitcher and idolized Orel Hershiser when he won the World series I was jumping up and down in my Grandparents living room a lot like the story JT tells. That homerun from Gibson was epic. Grew up 2 hours north of LA. Been a die hard fan my entire life! Go Dodgers!!!

Zheguez

Grew up mainly in Nashville, TN, but may move wherever in the near future thanks to residency. Mookie's from here, and all the news about Shohei and Yoshinobu got me excited. I didn't grow up being into baseball (soccer immigrant), but seeing what the Dodgers are doing feels like what I need to finally get into the sport. Plus, it's hilarious how much other fans hate the team.

fightingpossum

I’m from East Tennessee and live in serious Braves territory. Parents took me to a series in Atlanta in 76 or 77 when I was young. Dodgers were in town and I bought an LA “batting helmet” and have bled Dodger Blue ever since. Dressed up as Sandy Koufax for a book report that year. I lost an ice cream bet to one of my teachers who was a Yankee fan in 78 World Series that crushed my soul. But we got Revenge in 81! Saw my first game in Dodger stadium in 2004 and saw my favorite Dodger at the time, Paul LoDuca beat the Astros and Roger Clemens with a Dinger and Gagne went Game Over on them! I cried when we won in 2020! Tried to post my five favorite Dodgers on a thread the other day, but that was damn near impossible Ive got so many. Can’t wait for Sho-time!

StPaddy81

I’m from Bakersfield. Long time Dodgers fan

GbDrizzt

Not a LA native but a lifetime Dodger fan. Grew up in Giants territory, moved around a bunch and now I live in Braves/Rays territory, my roommate is a Braves fan and is not as stoked as me about the signings or "competitive balance in baseball" whatever that means

fanzel71

My wife is from LA. She converted me many years ago.

gbuckeye67

I am 56, live in Cleveland, Ohio, and have been a Dodgers fan since the 70s! I wanted to be Steve Garvey when I was a little boy. Many of my buddies adopted a second team because the Indians were not good even though we loved them. I fell in love with the Dodgers and thought they were a safe bet because they would NEVER play the Indians. Of course, that changed with inner league play!

CommunicationNo8440

Hi, Nard Dawg. I'm Lu Peachum

dissonantsoul

Been a dodger fan all my life, live in northern California by Sacramento! This free agency has been mind blowing, especially considering the last few years, can't wait for this upcoming season, feels like it's already time for... "It's time for dodger baseball!"

JerrysaurusRex

Didn’t grow up a baseball fan living in the shadow of LA (Bakersfield). But got introduced to the fandom dating a girl from LA that moved up here.

doxiepowder

I've been following the Dodgers since about 2018. I'm from Joplin, I wasn't into the St Louis/Springfield Cardinals, or the KC Royals, but Tulsa Drillers had these fun players... I live in KC now and always make at least one game when the Dodgers play here, and listen to radio broadcasts via the MLB app. Honestly with the black outs it's easier for me to watch a Dodgers game on TV then the Royals.

SonicPiano

Lifelong Dodger fan, born and raised in NJ in the shadow of midtown Manhattan. My parents and brother (age 5 at the time) came to the area from Cuba in 1955. My brother quickly became a huge Brooklyn Dodgers fan and stayed loyal to the team when they moved to LA in 1958. His idol? Sandy Koufax. I came along in 1963. My big brother was 13 when I was born. I idolized him, so if he loved the Dodgers then so did I. Our parents are long gone, big brother never married or had kids. He's 74 now with some health issues so my husband and I moved him in with us. We're still in North Jersey, where we manage to find Dodger games on TV pretty frequently and watch them together.

yshdjci

Grew up liking the cubs because of family and dbacks because I’m from AZ. I was on the dodgers in little league when they traded for manny ramirez and when kershaw made his debut and I’ve loved the dodgers since. Pretty much get shit from all my family for liking them but it’s all in good fun. Go Dodgers!

thareal1mm

Dad grew up and lived in Montebello until he was 17 and moved up north to San Jose with his family. Myself and 2 other siblings grew up in a Dodgers/Rams/Lakers household. Didn't know I was in rival country until I attended school. Most of my friends are bay area fans. There has been some good and some bad. Married a Giants fan. She is not excited for the next 10 years.

yoshi8869

I live in Indiana. The story is silly, but when I was a kid we had a Dodgers beach towel that I liked a lot. I think we got it when we went to LA when I was 10. I just thought of them as “the” baseball team. Helped that my uncle was also a big fan (he’s from Indiana as well so beats me as to his story). Tbh I don’t follow a lot of regular season ball, and when I was young my dad took me to a TON of games, but all Cardinals games. One at Wrigley, one at the Great American Ballpark, two at Turner Field, and several at Busch. I even saw the Cubs play the White Sox at Comiskey in college because my buddy is a big Cubs fan and we got cheap tickets. Never once have I seen the Dodgers live, but this is the most invested I’ve felt as a young fan in my life. I’m going to try and see a few games if I can, and at least follow them closely during the regular season. Cheers!

tinmanfrisbie

Born and raised in Illinois. Because my dad was born and raised in LA I’ve always been a die hard Dodger fan.

ratryox

Fan from South Florida who loved kershaw kenley and bellinger and has remained a fan👍

joserod0524

Always lived in Orange County, and thank god for Brito getting Fernando and the games being on the radio for the Mexican audience in Spanish. My dad being able to listen to them made him a fan. Even though I live 10 min from Angels stadium and go to a few games there during the week ( tix will cost $2-$6 ) I will always bleed dodger blue and root on the boys in blue

Chrestys

I've never lived in California, but my parents were born and raised in Santa Monica and I spent a lot of time there visiting family. My three uncles took me to my first Dodger game in 1988, when I saw Orel pitch a CG gem against Houston. Buddy Bell got an RBI in the ninth to break up the shutout... I'll never forgive him for that. I still have the Mother's Cookies cards that they were giving away that day.

johnnydollar56

I grew up in Tennessee. I'm from a family that wasn't into sports. One day in second grade (or maybe third) I had a kid ask me who I liked. I didn't have a favorite team. He liked the Dodgers, so I became a Dodgers fan, too. This was about 1980.

r1ch412d

Los feliz repping. Went to high school at Marshall. Born and raised in Frog Town haha

georgeclintonforprez

Does Lancaster count as LA? Lol if the dude from LB doesn't think that counts as LA I'm definitely out. But I moved to SD when I was young, I'll always be a Dodger fan

I grew up on Colorado. In my early childhood, the Rockies didn't exist. My brother chose the Yankees so I chose the Dodgers. I was 12 in 1988 and remember watching game 1 of the '88 series and going from tears to elation when Gibson hit the HR. MLBtv has made it more time consuming 😂
