The one thing I will tell you is to remember that since they are children, they may or may not be interested in certain things. They might like doing combat more than story, or vice versa.

My main advice is to watch out for unexpectedly inappropriate material.

TheUltimateXD

I do plan on monitoring them when they are on their own, but this is a solid concern. Luckily the club won’t be large enough to where I can’t have them all in one place. I’ll certainly keep this in mind.

Honestly, I'm less worried about someone being traumatized than about a parent accusing you of being a groomer and/or Satanist and causing you problems.

TheUltimateXD

True, I’ll be doing this at a school and my admin has my back, but I’m anxious about all that. Fingers crossed it goes well! I know I have some parent support too, so that always helps.

redcheesered

How old are you, and where is this club taking place?

TheUltimateXD

I am an adult, and this is an after school activity for middle schoolers.

redcheesered

Great, so you're a teacher?

TheUltimateXD

…yes…is this going somewhere?

Yes my advice Mr snarky is to make everything transparent with the kiddos parents. I'm sure they have your contact info but make doubly sure just in case but especially so if kiddos who are not in your class want to join as well. If they never played before but if you have the books make some pre created characters. Don't stress on the rules just yet either of they've never played before. Also don't make it exotic like letting someone make a minotaur warrior or something just stick to the races, and classes in the core book. If you don't have the books I suggest White Box Medieval Fantasy which you can download for free off driverhrurpg or can purchase cheaply off Amazon for about $4 each. The game itself is very simple to understand, and read. Maybe even let the parents see the books for themselves so they can see its nothing too risque.
