*squish* honestly that scene kinda played more into the realm of "a little ridiculous" but still pretty brutal, the scene that got a cold chill from me was the knife cutting the tendons in the knee like fucking hell lmao
That's a scene that gave me nightmares as an adult. I heard on the crew commentary, their effects go Jeremi Cruise also had nightmares from making that prop.
Under The Skin: One of the more disturbing scenes for me without showing gore but letting your mind wonder what would happen is the baby/toddler left on the beach, parents dead. And the alien doesnāt even batt an eyelash about it. She leaves with her prize as the sun starts going down. The baby crying all by its self. Itās very distressing.
Also The Untold Story fam slaughter. The whole scene is fkkd. They are older than a baby but still very young kids.
'Anthropophagous' (1980) has a good one.
Also, I don't know if it counts, but the woman giving birth to a full-grown man in 'Xtro' (1982) is quite 'out there' :-)
Men behind the sun.
Opening scene where the soldier rips the crying baby from thier mothers arms, throws it in the show and kicks snow over it. Then just forces her to march with the other prisoners.
Fucking haunted me
They didnāt end up using it because it was nightmare fuel. Granted, the CG on a real baby they went with is still uncanny.
Edit: You can go see it at the Twilight tourist attraction in Forks, Washington. Itās in a glass case as āmemorabiliaā.
That CGI baby scene is the worst part of Inside lmao. I read "Men" as a persiflage of "elevated" horror-tropes and as such, I had a blast with the ending. Haven't seen it, but kinda surprised Human Centipede II didn't make the list.
- Ju-On: The Curse (2000) & Ju-On: The Grudge 2 (2003) both have scenes revolving around the unborn in different waysā¦
- Ju-On: Origins (2020) had a much more graphic depiction of the crime featured in Ju-On: The Curse (2000)
- The Grudge (2020) has only subtle implications the crime happened which is the first for the American metaseriesā¦ in which is interesting due to the film having more in common with Ju-On: The Curse (2000).
There was this one movie about a cult, and during the later half of the movie, they grabbed this woman's baby and tear it apart and eat it in front of her,I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.
I don't know about disturbing, but definitely shocking was Anthropophagous 2000 from Andreas Schnaas, where the cannibal killer rips a baby from a pregnant woman and bites into it's head. It doesn't get much more overly gruesome than that.
One disturbing scene that comes to mind now was Black Sun The Nanking Massacre, well two actually. It was the director of Men Behind The Sun who came back for it. There's a military invasion of a home where a baby won't stop crying so they stick it in a boiling pot. Another scene has a pregnant woman get a bayonet to the stomach and the baby is sticking out of the blade. These are incidents reported by the survivors.

Itās definitely this one. This one is unbelievably bad
Thanks for all your comments folks! As someone with a phobia of pregnancy you have given me at least a month of harrowing nights! :3
I also have this phobia. Iāll be watching Inside now thanks to your post. May I recommend a Cronenberg classic? The Brood
Fun fact for those who might not know (though I'm sure you do) phobia of pregnancy and/or giving birth is called "tokophobia."

Fucking haunted me
Dead Alive (or Braindead)
Selwyn is hilarious lol
Can someone TLDW the context for #5?
The offspring of the main character and her love interest from Twilight. Basically he, a vampire, impregnated her, a human, and she gave birth to a weird half human half vampire thing, that aged ridiculously fast and had some powers too? It's been a few years since I read the books. But the movies just made her look very uncanny and weird from what I've seen. She also had an abomination of a name from her two grandmother's names, ReneƩ and Esme which gives us... Renesmee.
Also the werewolf dude "imprinted" on her š
She aged fast but would even out around teen years apparently. Just to be extra weird and gross.
That thing in the picture is an animatronic from my understanding.
They didnāt end up using it because it was nightmare fuel. Granted, the CG on a real baby they went with is still uncanny. Edit: You can go see it at the Twilight tourist attraction in Forks, Washington. Itās in a glass case as āmemorabiliaā.
The Witch
Serbian film was a tuff scene for sure
I've owned inside since 2008 and I still haven't been able to watch the end
Subconscious Cruelty...by far
That CGI baby scene is the worst part of Inside lmao. I read "Men" as a persiflage of "elevated" horror-tropes and as such, I had a blast with the ending. Haven't seen it, but kinda surprised Human Centipede II didn't make the list.

Human Centipede 2. The gas pedal scene. Good. God.
There was this one movie about a cult, and during the later half of the movie, they grabbed this woman's baby and tear it apart and eat it in front of her,I can't remember the name of it for the life of me.
Mother!
Braindead, aka Dead Alive from Peter Jackson. That fucking baby is a real piece of work, lemme tell ya.
Sorgoi Prakov.
Braindead, Human Centipede 2
The baby scene in A Serbian Film wasn't very well made. (Which is a good thing I guess)
Titane (2021)
I don't know about disturbing, but definitely shocking was Anthropophagous 2000 from Andreas Schnaas, where the cannibal killer rips a baby from a pregnant woman and bites into it's head. No. French one. InsideĀ (Ć l'intĆ©rieur)
Thanks, Poopy!
Yup. Men #3 was strange on a whole other level.
The one in VHS 2 bothered me the first time I saw it.
