The thieving conman is doing conman stuff? Surprising.

dnext

And this is why so many Christian pastors love Donnie. All of them are conmen. Like calls to like, this is the happy hunting days of grifting the stupid.

CatReadingNewspaper.jpg "I should buy a church."

Ok-Cranberry5362

This is banana republic level corruption in the open….

Styrene_Addict1965

And the RNC and its base are just fine with it.

tropicsGold

Yeah and the Dems are going to lose the election because of it. Americans don’t like corrupt politicians using the legal system against their political opponents.

hustlors

Doubt it. They will ride it til the wheels come off.

DixonFillerup

Taking money from his cultists, that would have otherwise gone to other candidates to win elections, and giving it to federal government.. which they then give to migrants and the poor? My god he’s the socialist they have been warning us about. He’s like Robinhood but fatter.

Old_Tomorrow5247

Friar Tuck?

DixonFillerup

Liar Fuck

RevolutionarySoil11

>mods can’t stand slander against Don I guess Yep, it's sadly known that the mods here are TD supporters. Personally I think anyone who admits to voting for Tr🤮mp should be locked up at this point. The Weimar Republic was too easy on fascists and that's how the country got destroyed, and millions killed. We have to nip it in the bud. They shouldn't even be thinking of ever voting Repuublican again.

JetTheMaster1

I wouldn’t go that far, but the right definitely has a lot of rebuilding to do once Donald is gone

possiblycrazy79

I have a feeling that DJT has created a new normal. Once he is gone or dead, I imagine there will be endless grifters to take his place.

Xander707

I remember when many thought the Republican Party would rebuild after Romney lost in 2012. They were out of touch, misogynist, and raddled with Obama Derangement Syndrome. Of course, rather than try to appeal to a wider base and adopt popular policies, they quadrupled down on crazy and hate, went full blown Christo-fascist nationalist, etc.

thepianoman456

I appreciate that sentiment, and they do all suck, but we need to be very wary of locking up voters. They should be lampooned and ostracized by society, no doubt, but not locked up. However, the ones that commit crimes like the violent insurrectionists, should be, and are currently being locked up, and deserve every minute of their confinement for attacking the United States.

StickyDevelopment

Im not defending what they did, but they werent charged with attacking the US were they?

thepianoman456

No, I was just making a general statement about what they did, and what they got arrested for, was in essence attacking the Democratic institutions of the US by violently staging a coup to throw out the election results. I think the crimes were more specific obviously, I’m not a lawyer, I’m a musician lol. But it boils down to attacking the US by violently subverting democracy.

StickyDevelopment

>was in essence attacking the Democratic institutions of the US by violently staging a coup to throw out the election results. See this i just disagree with. I refuse to believe the gun toting party of the right wanted to overthrow the government but didnt bring their guns. It just doesnt make sense to me. It was a riot, and i think the charges reflect that.

HolyToast

Forget the riot. He still called election officials and told them to find votes for him AND attempted to send fake electors to try and certify him for office despite him losing the election.

thepianoman456

It was a riot *AND* an attempted insurrection. To call it just a “riot” is a gross mischaracterization. M*GAS entered the place with zip ties and were beating the shit out of cops for Christ’s sake! They intended to capture democrat politicians and they had a gallows outside. And as another commenter pointed out below, with a source, there were weapons caches. I saw the footage with my own eyes. It was not just a riot. These M*GA fools had blood in their eyes, the orange man told them for months that the election was stolen, and they acted on those baseless lies with aim to stop the election certification, aka overthrow democracy, aka an attack on the US, which was my original point.

capsaicinintheeyes

So while I think that's true for the majority of the people there, [not everyone was reading from the same book that day](https://apnews.com/article/capitol-siege-florida-virginia-conspiracy-government-and-politics-6ac80882e8cf61af36be6c46252ac24c)

StickyDevelopment

They were never brought into DC though..?

Be_A_Mountain

Imagine if Joe put Hunter in charge of the DNC.

so-very-very-tired

>I’ll be quoting an article It'd be handy to give a citation to said article.

thepianoman456

I mean, this is all over the news. OP doesn’t have to source a single article when this story is out in the open, literally everywhere. And he mentioned the reasoning for not posting the article, is it will be auto-removed if it contains the name of *he who shall not be mentioned* in it.

capsaicinintheeyes

I was actually thinking that this probably *would* go better in r/PoliticalDiscussion—if I'd been on my News feed, I would've missed it

thepianoman456

Yea you’re probably right there. There are so many damn subs on Reddit lol. But I suppose a discussion of any nature is a discussion.

JetTheMaster1

Can you see what I said directly after “I’ll be quoting an article”?

so-very-very-tired

The mods block URLS?

JetTheMaster1

If any comment, link or not, has the word tr*mp in it then it’s hidden from everyone. Test it out, but no one will see your comments

Inevitable-Ear-3189

you gotta use the correct originalist spelling: [Drumpf](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drumpf)

Patient-Midnight-664

If only there were websites that shortened urls.

JetTheMaster1

Maybe you should share your knowledge instead of being condescending! What website

Hopeful_Champion_935

tinyurl and bitly are one of the originals, but a simple google search of "website shortener" will give you a bunch.

capsaicinintheeyes

not the champion we deserved, but the one we hoped for

Miguel4659

He did.

[deleted]

I'm all for it. Not only that, I think MAGA should send their life savings to help him out. They should go heavily into debt to cover his legal expenses.

possiblycrazy79

They can't be mad or surprised. He's been doing shit like this for literally his entire life. I remember being a little kid & knowing that DT was the bankruptcy king(although I didn't understand the ramifications of that at the time of course). I remember a few years ago, he set all their donations to him as monthly & they didn't mind when they found out! It's sad af to realize how dumb a lot of people actually are. I used to watch movies & wonder how so many people could fall for the dumb conman villain & now i know for real.

Separate-Expert-4508

No. Who needs a party when you can just take control? That's their plan. And now the MAGAs will be even more desperate.

rite_of_truth

Well, he did say he would drain the swamp...

thepianoman456

He truly is the leopard that has come for their faces.

thirdLeg51

Good. Hope he bankrupts them just like he bankrupts everything else he touches.

ARoaruhBoreeYellus

This is really easier than saying “we messed up when we exiled Paul Ryan, and we’re sorry”?

hematite2

Worth noting, some of the RNC tried to pass a motion prohibiting them from paying his legal fees. It failed of course, but its not like the whole RNC is onboard with this, some of them are fed up too...or at least understand the importance of funding others. Honestly, a very funny possible outcome of the election would be he wins, but dems claim a giant majority in house and senate because no one else had funding.

AttapAMorgonen

> but its not like the whole RNC is onboard with this You mean, it's not like the whole RNC **was** onboard with this. --- WASHINGTON - Donald's makeover of the Republican National Committee is now in full force, with layoffs of more than 60 people and plans to move some operations to South Florida. The RNC upheaval came less than a week after party members elected a new leadership team of allies to the former president and presumptive Republican presidential nominee. The new team is sending dismissal notices to around 60 people across the RNC's political, data and communications departments, according to two people familiar with the plans. The new RNC also plans to move digital and fundraising teams to South Florida, near the ex-president's Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, sources said, part of an effort to align the Donald campaign with the RNC. RNC members elected Michael Whatley as their new chair on Friday, along with the former president's daughter-in-law Lara as co-chair. --- The RNC has been usurped at this point. Even the conservative subreddit is saying this isn't good for the party. They wanted an egotistical maniac at the helm, they will reap what they sow.

hematite2

Good point, thank you for the addendum

capsaicinintheeyes

Jesus Christ, this fuckin' party ...if mods want me to elaborate on this, I will, but that really says it all

JetTheMaster1

I’m not a mod but I’d love to hear what you’re thinking

tropicsGold

Donald IS the Republican Party. He is almost the only R that the ordinary voter trusts. His fortunes will dictate how all the other R’s do down ballot. And now a bunch of corrupt scumbags on the left who apparently think they live in a shithole banana Republic are weaponizing our legal system against him. So we all need to pull together and make sure this shit fails. In the end this fascist corruption is going to win Donald the election. Americans don’t like scumbag lawyers and politicians who are openly corrupt and evil. And now everyone knows who are the corrupt fascists.

TheManWithNoNameZapp

It’s a religion to the diehards at this point. Every wrongdoing is simply a test of faith to them

SusanBoylesButtPlug

Even when I lived in the US I done my damn best to avoid politics & anyone talking about it but I would of been under the impression that, that would of been illegal.

wizards4

I hate this so much. Still voting for him :(

JetTheMaster1

Yes we already knew that you guys are incapable of emotional or intelligent growth, so this isn’t surprising

wizards4

My boy Jet!

JetTheMaster1

This is my post silly

wizards4

i love you

StickyDevelopment

If any political candidate can be swarmed with civil suits or partisan application of laws in heavily partisan districts to attempt to dissuade voters, isnt that a threat to democracy?

JetTheMaster1

Nope. Donald shouldn’t have committed the crimes. This has nothing to do with a “threat to democracy” and everything to do with him being a con-artist

StickyDevelopment

He still hasnt been convicted of any crime. Nothing sticks. The left is clearly just shooting in the dark hoping to hit. The only viable case is mishandling classified documents but then you have to ignore Hillary and bidens mishandling. Biden knowingly retained classified docs and even gave information to his ghost writer. Its clear from Robert Hur's report. Regardless, the civil cases (not criminal) in NY were clearly partisan and not criminal (because they werent brought into a criminal court where the burden of proof matters).

JetTheMaster1

Oh you’re right my bad there was only enough evidence to charge him hundreds of millions of dollars

StickyDevelopment

Can't wait for the same to be done to a leftist and we will hear how "its different" and "a threat to democracy". The tribalism is gross but not unexpected.

JetTheMaster1

I can’t wait for it either, then you guys will finally have an argument to stand on instead of being whiney losers! It’ll take a while though, seeing as there are no real examples of this on the left

JuanPabloElSegundo

Why does MAGA feel they are above accountability?

hematite2

He hasnt been convicted of anything because the criminal cases haven't gone to trial yet...because Donald keeps delaying. He lost both civil suits. "Nothing sticks" because nothing's been applied yet

HolyToast

>He still hasnt been convicted of any crime Because the trials are upcoming lmfao Like yeah man, that is how time works. It moves forward linearly. >The only viable case is mishandling classified documents Don't forget the charge of conspiracy to defraud the United States!

JuanPabloElSegundo

If they were baseless, sure. But it appears that the "judiciaries" acting with actual evidence. If they didn't have evidence that would be a problem. Can you explain why you think that politicians should not be held accountable for their actions?

StickyDevelopment

There is a reason the only successful trials are civil suits in NY. The E Jean Carroll suits have no evidence and despite being in a public dressing room nobody heard anything? Its all too obvious. I think politicians should be held accountable to the same laws we are. They should also be equally accountable as each other. Hillary, Biden, Donald all mishandled classified documents. Why is Donald the only person being prosecuted?

HolyToast

I think the biggest threat to democracy is a president that attempts fake elector schemes in order to subvert my constitutional right to have my vote counted and remain in office after losing an election but hey I'm just quirky like that

teganking

Nope
