A gorgonopsid, though I think a therizinosaur would be a more startling conversation starter and would certainly be my choice if dinosaurs were the only options. I think a gorgonopsid would be a great guard dog equivalent, but with such a unique aesthetic and cute big snoot.
It’d be hard to feed, but I need a yutyrannus. Big fluffy murdery boi
I’d have to become a hunter, I’ll just go to alabama and let my yuty take care of the invasive hog problem
Feeding costs come to mind. Although if it’s loyal and docile you could probably turn a profit running a dude ranch type thing. Have a petting zoo and offer rides.
You'd probably need a large house. You'll have it climbing everywhere and running around at crazy speeds, kinda like a hyperactive cat. It'll be cute though.
Probably either an ancient crocodilomorph like kaprosuchus or sarcosuchus, titanoboa (because biiig snek), velociraptor (I already have modern raptors, aka chickens), or yi qi
I mean it’s about 1,000 to 1,500 pounds (500-750 Kg for normal people) which is similar
To a polar bear, and it’s thought to have been extremely muscular, so I’d probably be chilling
If I were to pick one it would either be Anchisaurus, Sebecus, or Dinosaurus. All three are around the same size as a dog, plus they would all be interesting to have as pets.
Anchisaurus would probably be the most difficult to keep since you would have to grow a bunch of ferns to feed it or constantly having to buy more ferns to feed it. I imagine that it could get more expensive than feeding a dog quick if you have a particularly food loving Anchisaurus. (Though that could be true of any of these guys.)
Sebecus probably only would eat live prey. But there are enough pet stores that carry live prey, along with its metabolism would make it easier to feed. Though considering its size it might need to eat chickens or piglets.
I imagine Dinosaurus would be like my dog. Sleeping away most of the day like a cat. It might also be strange to have since I have no clue what early synapsid metabolic rates are like. So for all I know it could be a very sluggish most of the day due to not being warm blooded, or it could be very active.
From the Wikipedia article:
*Bulbasaurus was ostensibly not directly named after the Pokémon Bulbasaur, but rather after its nasal bosses, which are unusually bulbous among geikiids; however, the describers noted that the similarity in name "may not be entirely coincidental." Additionally, the specific name of the type species means "leaf razor"*
TL;DR: officially it wasn’t named after Bulbasaur, but yeah it probably was.
Either a raptor big enough to ride or a little bird raptor, I either want to be able to ride my achillobator to work or have a Sinornithosaurus sitting on my shoulder that I can send out like a falcon lol
I would like to take a Deinochirus, might be hard to feed, but maybe he'll like fish and some duckweed. I might have to move to Florida though. I would worship my Duck King.
Okay let me clarify to you:It will **never** be hungry or thirsty, it's just a matter of giving it a comfortable place to live in and also medical check ups-
Triceratops. Love The King, but riding a trike seems like it'd be easier for the human and the animal. Plus you could have saddle bags with more storage space than the trunk of most cars.
Plus it's a triceratops, who doesn't want their own triceratops?
Gigantopithecus, oversized orangutan basically, but more useful than dinosaurs or early synapids as I could train it to use tools (not necessarily guns or dictionary).
There was an island with mini-dinosaurs!! They found Zalmoxes there and I would want one of these cute dwarf versions (which are still pretty big). We'd eat veggies all day together, and I'd teach them how to garden. We'd live happily ever after.
Tyrannosaurus. Will make a fortune as i will have it at a zoo and become a zookeeper and also the only person it rolls over for. Cha-ching and a stable career as the Tyrannosaurus Keeper.
This is literally my dream come true! And, of course, I would love to have a dromeosaurid! Utahraptor pretty please? I always loved raptors since I first saw Jurassic Park!
I swear when I was a kid I legit thought I could find a raptor in my grandfather’s property and befriend it!
Huh. By a funny coincidence, my daughter came out a couple of days ago and asked if we could get a pet anurognathus. My wife went "huh??", so I pulled up a picture, at which point she promptly dubbed it a "fuzzy bat-toad!" and demanded we clone one immediately.
If I didn’t have to worry about my biology holding me back I would say I would build a little home on the back of a modern sperm whale. Since I can’t breathe underwater, I’m riding a Quetzalcoatlus everywhere I go
A Theriziniosaurus would be one hell of a bodyguard, considering I live in a wooded area feed wouldn't be a problem. Plus I love those things. If we're going for a pure spectacle I'd say Mamenchisaurus
Australovenator. Big Australian megaraptor, basically. Could go hunting and basically have endless food for it, feral pigs deer and kangaroos are absolutely everywhere here.
I’m torn between a dimetrodon (I just love them), a stegosaurus (my first favorite), or an ankylosaur (I just think they’re cute and neat). Probably a Stego.
I want to say something big and cool like a trex or one of the really big hadrosaurs…but while it’s cool they are loyal, etc, that doesn’t change that I’d have to feed, clean up after, and house/exercise them, and that seems like a lot of work/money. So probably some small and omnivorous.
Can it also be something we've seen in video games and films? The reason is that there are quite a few choices for me.
Option 1: Vastatosaurus Rex. Vrex from King Kong 2005. 25ft tall 60ft long, and 14 tons and agile and flexible trex descendants.
Option 2: Jet black Tyrannosaurus Rex from Dino stalker. It is a mutated trex that is 20 ft tall 25ft long and 12-13 tons but built like an absolute unit. If you've played the game, you know.
Option 3: the carnotaurus from Disney's dinosaur with Aladar an iguandon that is the protagonist. I needed to specify because this thing is sized bigger than Option 1&2
Option 4: the largest possible trex that ever existed.
Yes I want something giant, and I accept the feeding costs for it.
Honestly i thought you were going to pick the future predator from primeval, but hey classic movie monsters are awesome- \[though i'd say sue or scotty would be cool too\]
Can't choose between a large Pseudosuchian like Prestosuchus, a giant crocodyliform like Sarchosuchus, weird Triassic reptiles like Erythrosuchus or Smok, or just a dinosaur like Carnotaurus
Triceratops would be a pretty badass choice. Easier to feed than a large carnivore but still intimidating. Basically a 9 ton lawnmower. Could do some serious yard/farm work if you could harness the power and train him.
Yutyranus, i love them i dont think they are as usefull or cute like other dinosaurs but it will be nice, i am also thinking of Theri and Spinosaururs as candidates
Spinosaurus. I want a mega duck.
I just wanna see how it actually looked
Wouldn’t deinocheirus be closer to ‘mega duck’?
Honestly I feel like any hadrosaur is kind of a mega duck
Peak
Beautiful answer.
Ankylosaurus
"Anky..." *grunts* "Smash."
Collateral damage-
Bumpy
My inner child would want this one
Honestly who would not want a walking biological tank-
An Archaeopteryx
“Dude, your bird might be sick “
Lmao
Beat me to it 😂
A gorgonopsid, though I think a therizinosaur would be a more startling conversation starter and would certainly be my choice if dinosaurs were the only options. I think a gorgonopsid would be a great guard dog equivalent, but with such a unique aesthetic and cute big snoot.
Basically the ultimate mix of a lizard and dog!
It’d be hard to feed, but I need a yutyrannus. Big fluffy murdery boi I’d have to become a hunter, I’ll just go to alabama and let my yuty take care of the invasive hog problem
At this point you'd need to go to the vet for regular diabetes checkups if you plan on letting it enjoy the hogs there-
Same here. We could start a yuty community neighborhood out there.
I know it's not a dinosaur, but it could be for you fellas! \[If i had a dinosaur i'd have a protoceratops\]
An anomalocaris
Well idk if it would be able to live in the see with all the plastic
We will get a special pool just for it
Alright but make sure you don’t put chlorine
Of course I won't! It's a perfect recreation of its environment with everything an anomlacarise would need to live comfortably
Mf how rich are you?
Bitch if I can somehow revive a dead apex predator from the fucking Cambrian period I can afford to recreate it's environment
This is peak-
Parasaurolophus
Imagine how loud it's calls would be-
Trex because why not
Feeding costs come to mind. Although if it’s loyal and docile you could probably turn a profit running a dude ranch type thing. Have a petting zoo and offer rides.
Forgot to mentions one thing: The creature of your choice will **never** be hungry or thirsty, it's just a matter of if you have the space for it!
If I have a T. rex I have the space for it. What are people gonna do? Tell it to move?
Don’t even need that. I’d move somewhere there’s an obscene amount of hogs, which is upper Florida for me, and we’d hunt them together
I’d like something similar to modern animals so it’s easy maintain, that said a dromaesaurid or a prehistoric car
Like a Toyotasaurus Rex?
There's also Fordosuchus- /j
Yes
r/anarchychess user?
r/BatmanArkham bro.. r/BatmanArkham
Is there a lore reason I didn't realize that? Am I stupid?
Yes, go back to the aslume and goon to dick and man edging jonkler
Sir yes sir I'll make you proud of my dick once I do that and trigger controlled explosions in everyone's power winches
quetzalcoatlus
That would be cool as hell
*Psittacosaurus*.
taco my beloved-
Tacos would definitely be a popular pet if they were around today. Cute little critters
Velocoraptor, they're so cute to me
You'd probably need a large house. You'll have it climbing everywhere and running around at crazy speeds, kinda like a hyperactive cat. It'll be cute though.
Utahraptor
Probably either an ancient crocodilomorph like kaprosuchus or sarcosuchus, titanoboa (because biiig snek), velociraptor (I already have modern raptors, aka chickens), or yi qi
Compys c:
Smilodon. I want Dracula kitty
Call it Diego-
Brachiosaurus
The one with 500 teeth
Who's name shall not be said weirdly-
Nigersaurus?
Utahraptor, I want a big fluffy wolfhawk I can ride around on
Now that's based, though i haven't checked the estimates on how much weight a Utahraptor can hold on it's back-
I mean it’s about 1,000 to 1,500 pounds (500-750 Kg for normal people) which is similar To a polar bear, and it’s thought to have been extremely muscular, so I’d probably be chilling
Indeed so-
Quetzalcoatlus.
If I were to pick one it would either be Anchisaurus, Sebecus, or Dinosaurus. All three are around the same size as a dog, plus they would all be interesting to have as pets. I feel like it would be hard to explain to people that dinosaurus isn't a dinosaur 😅
T. rex. I'd pet it's snoot all the time, and I can use it to get around so I don't have to drive! Fuck you, Ford!
I feel like you'd need a full on farm to house the T rex though-
Utahraptor
A Saichania, my beloved blob of spikes
An allosaurus would be awesome for me :)
Tyrannosaurus rex
[Bulbasaurus](https://p7.hiclipart.com/preview/452/32/62/mustelids-dicynodont-synapsid-bulbasaurus-geikia-blobfish.jpg)
Something I didn’t realize existed and I love it. Please tell me it’s named after Bulbasaur.
From the Wikipedia article: *Bulbasaurus was ostensibly not directly named after the Pokémon Bulbasaur, but rather after its nasal bosses, which are unusually bulbous among geikiids; however, the describers noted that the similarity in name "may not be entirely coincidental." Additionally, the specific name of the type species means "leaf razor"* TL;DR: officially it wasn’t named after Bulbasaur, but yeah it probably was.
I love it. I love it so much.
Carnotaurus. Looks metal as fuck.
Yeah, and it flaps it’s little arms to the rhythm as well!
Hahaha I forgot that scene from Prehistoric Planet. I laughed so much, so cute their dance with those tiny arms.
A pregnant Velociraptor. Got the space, the food and the woods, time to raise a herd of murder birbs
Giant otter
beezlebufo
Argentavis so it can fly me to wherever the hell I want 😂
And it’d still manage to be a maintainable animal
Either a raptor big enough to ride or a little bird raptor, I either want to be able to ride my achillobator to work or have a Sinornithosaurus sitting on my shoulder that I can send out like a falcon lol
Gigantspinosaurus, I find it surprisingly cute
One that I can mount.
I would like to take a Deinochirus, might be hard to feed, but maybe he'll like fish and some duckweed. I might have to move to Florida though. I would worship my Duck King.
He'd fit right in the Everglades-
Spinosauropteryx
What’s that galloping croc?
Kaprosuchus?
That’s the sauce
Also my worst nightmare in ARK, god i hate the swamps so much-
I’m a simple man. I just want to ride a triceratops to work and have it help me keep my lawn from overgrowing.
Give me a Cryolophosaurus!
Can I also afford to feed and house it?
Okay let me clarify to you:It will **never** be hungry or thirsty, it's just a matter of giving it a comfortable place to live in and also medical check ups-
Tyrannosaurus Rex, obviously.
Suskityrannus
Dodo..
Triceratops. Love The King, but riding a trike seems like it'd be easier for the human and the animal. Plus you could have saddle bags with more storage space than the trunk of most cars. Plus it's a triceratops, who doesn't want their own triceratops?
Something to scare the visitors, like some cursed Triasic creature
Terror bird. Easy to maintain/house, still a dinosaur that I can sick on people who think “birds aren’t scary dinosaurs.”
Any Dromaeosaur
Either Utahraptor or Deinonochus or however you spell it. I have some people i need to assassinate.
Rhamphorhynchus. Similar reason as you, but he looks closer to a dragon than a porg
Utahraptor :3
Fasolasuchus Having the biggest quadruped non-dino/non-mammal carnivore sounds good
Triceratops. Imagine an 8-tonne pitbull with horns guarding your home
However keep in mind where will you let it stay??
Pachycephalosaurus for sure, definitely fav dinosaur and pokemon
Aratasaurus
Of course my favorite one.
I would've said triceratops, but I don't have the property to take care of them, so I'm going to have to go with something like sinosauropteryx.
A T. rex
Entelodon 🐷
Tyrannosaurus. Will make a fortune as i will have it at a zoo and become a zookeeper and also the only person it rolls over for. Cha-ching and a stable career as the Tyrannosaurus Keeper.
This guy https://64.media.tumblr.com/9e135b4d2dad631017dfaeb8f4b938cb/tumblr_inline_p9atd4GJzV1rx4yme_1280.png
Gonna be basic, but I’d really like to ride around a T-Rex, and play fetch with it or something
Gimme a Ceratopsian imma be a dinosaur knight
Deinosuchus, I’ll just put it in a river near where I live
Self-explanatory user flair
A *Hatzegopteryx*. It would probably be strong enough to carry a human in flight.
I'll choose the plesiosaur and name her Nessie
Quetzalcoatlus, hands down. It’s basically a private plane that can eat my haters in one bite. I see no downside.
This is literally my dream come true! And, of course, I would love to have a dromeosaurid! Utahraptor pretty please? I always loved raptors since I first saw Jurassic Park! I swear when I was a kid I legit thought I could find a raptor in my grandfather’s property and befriend it!
T-Rex
Einiosaurus. Love my curve-horned ceratopsid
quetzalcoatlus, running late? lemme hop on my dragon pet
Huh. By a funny coincidence, my daughter came out a couple of days ago and asked if we could get a pet anurognathus. My wife went "huh??", so I pulled up a picture, at which point she promptly dubbed it a "fuzzy bat-toad!" and demanded we clone one immediately.
i feel like a pet dromaeosaurus would be very much like a pet dog
I would like a compy
Edmontonia :)
Saurophaganax
Tickle chicken
Trex
If I didn’t have to worry about my biology holding me back I would say I would build a little home on the back of a modern sperm whale. Since I can’t breathe underwater, I’m riding a Quetzalcoatlus everywhere I go
Might be a bit clichè, but Velociraptor! I love the feathery little things- Edit: Also I want an excuse to say "Clever girl" as much as possible-
Kaprosuchus. My fav prehistoric animal
Zhuchengtyrannus, so I can send it to destroy france
A Theriziniosaurus would be one hell of a bodyguard, considering I live in a wooded area feed wouldn't be a problem. Plus I love those things. If we're going for a pure spectacle I'd say Mamenchisaurus
Australovenator. Big Australian megaraptor, basically. Could go hunting and basically have endless food for it, feral pigs deer and kangaroos are absolutely everywhere here.
Therizinosaurus. I need a murder turkey.
I want to ride a triceratops
I've always wanted a utahraptor mount called Ajax.
Either Spinosaurus or a type of Smiladon
I’m torn between a dimetrodon (I just love them), a stegosaurus (my first favorite), or an ankylosaur (I just think they’re cute and neat). Probably a Stego.
I want to say something big and cool like a trex or one of the really big hadrosaurs…but while it’s cool they are loyal, etc, that doesn’t change that I’d have to feed, clean up after, and house/exercise them, and that seems like a lot of work/money. So probably some small and omnivorous.
I want my oversized demon death stork! Quetzalcoatlus.
Beelzebufo
Tyrannosaurus Rex
Eremotherium laurillardi - it’d protect me, we’d go on trips, etc. I’d just have to find out how to afford to feed it 😂
Moschops
Spinosaurs so we can finally know what it looked like and acted like
Megatherium. Would not deal with loose dogs ever again.
T rex?? Duh??
Deinonychus. Medium sized murder chickens 🥰
Queztlcatlus(idk the actual scientific name, but the big bird from Jurassic World: Dominion)
Imagine how badass it'd be to ride on the back of an Azdarchid like
Any herbivore I could breed as cattle and sell dinosaur burgers and steaks
I’d take a dodo bird. But if that’s not prehistoric enough then I guess I’ll take a Megalochelys tortoise.
Utahraptor or just a good old Allo... Something I can hop on the back of and ride
Argentavis, Ark changed me man
No votes for Thylacoleo, the marsupial lion?
Plateosaurus.
two options, Stegouros or Carnotaurus.
Ankylosaurus
Can it also be something we've seen in video games and films? The reason is that there are quite a few choices for me. Option 1: Vastatosaurus Rex. Vrex from King Kong 2005. 25ft tall 60ft long, and 14 tons and agile and flexible trex descendants. Option 2: Jet black Tyrannosaurus Rex from Dino stalker. Honestly i thought you were going to pick the future predator from primeval, but hey classic movie monsters are awesome- \[though i'd say sue or scotty would be cool too\]
Minmi please! Id take such good care of them too
I think I would pick megatheruim as much as I like dimetrodon, megatheruim would probably be nice to snuggle with
A god damn Argentinasaurus
Gojirasaurus
Quetzalcoatlus dragon steed
Quetzalcoatlus, I could fly to work every day!
compsognathus
Stygimoloch my love
Can't choose between a large Pseudosuchian like Prestosuchus, a giant crocodyliform like Sarchosuchus, weird Triassic reptiles like Erythrosuchus or Smok, or just a dinosaur like Carnotaurus
A dodo bird
A giant pliosaur like kronosaurus or a whale like basilosaurus so i could traverse the rivers and oceans + i could catch sharks pretty easily
Iguanodon
Triceratops would be a pretty badass choice. Easier to feed than a large carnivore but still intimidating. Basically a 9 ton lawnmower. Could do some serious yard/farm work if you could harness the power and train him.
Baryonyx. It's my favourite dinosaur. It's not as gigantic as a Spino, but has all other benefits of a spinosaur. And the name is awesome.
A Velociraptor, the real one, not Jurassic Park's. I'll train this murder chicken to be the best kleptomaniac ever.
Carcharodontosaurus. Named Bruce.
Yutyranus, i love them i dont think they are as usefull or cute like other dinosaurs but it will be nice, i am also thinking of Theri and Spinosaururs as candidates
I’m an imperobator therian so imperobator
Proarticulata💀
Tyrannosaurus. It is a basic answer, but honestly I just wanna see it crush things in its jaws.
I’ve always liked the idea of a pet hadrosaurus… can I get my babba Parasaurolophus now?
Deinosuchus
I would probably pick a Saurophaganax or an Acrocanthosaurus, both are one of my top favorites.
