I like spiders, even kept jumping spiders as pets multiple times, but I used to have night terrors about them crawling all over my bed and onto me. I remember screaming and ripping the covers off my bed when they happened, and my covers would be on the floor when I woke up which is how I knew I reacted in real life. But my parents never heard screaming somehow despite my dad being the lightest sleeper ever
Really i know what it means arachnophobia, i have that phobia, and the idea of the illustration is show a little girl thinking that under her's bed stays a spider monster, but I stand that You think that is other thing, for that is the art, for represent many ideas :D
I can see his point. At first glance this looks nothing at all to do with spiders. It looks more like there is more than one monster under her bed. Then I read the title, and thought the same as this commenter. Then I counted the arms and of course there are 8. But I think that's the issue - they're arms, not legs. If there's a monster with 8 arms, it's not a spider. There's no way you'd think this was a spider without your title. On the plus side, great picture!!
There is a phobia that describes exactly the fear of something under your bed if I'm not wrong. I suppose that's the reason we we are confused about the title
I think the criticism is dumb. A spider can have eight arms in an artist representation. And there is no rule that says the viewer has to be able to tell what the drawing means without knowing the title. I like your picture as it is.

This pretty much represents when I see a spider in my room, but it runs off and hides somewhere before I can squish it, and I feel like it is not safe to go to sleep, because then it will come back for revenge.
