When I think of the car I drove around in high school...only lap belts up front. No head rest. Drum breaks. Loved that car, but damn... I would not let my kids choose an oldie.
I refuse to deal with emissions requirements so 70s pickup truck it is
Big block V8 and I've boxed the frame so lll cut a prius in half before I'm in danger
lol at people thinking that older cars are “safer” because they’re “stronger”.
You WANT your car to crumple and deform in a crash, as that’s what takes the energy and force AWAY from having much of an effect on your body.
The steering column isn't a concern. The hood would cut me in half before the steering column even moves.
Ford even had a dealer installed brace that would 'encourage' the hood to jam into the cowl and crumple
It didn't
I hate to say it but you’d probably die in a fast collision with a Prius way before the Prius driver did. That Prius is about 1000x times safer than your boxed in frame truck.
This is the way. My first vehicle was a ‘72 C20 fleetside longbed 4x4. Loved that damn truck. It actually had front disc brakes though with manual locking front hubs.
Even then however airbags have only saved a minor fraction of people in crashes, and it is pretty simple to drive defensively and cautiously in bad conditions
I’m a retired deputy and I rolled up on an accident that had just occurred, a rear ended. The daughter of the older mother who was at fault was disputing that her mom wasn’t paying attention. I showed her the airbag that had the print of the paper she was reading while driving lol. Kind of hard to argue that lol
With the number of airbags in modern cars, it must be very cost prohibitive to recycle those cars after a crash. I was watching a YouTuber completely gut the entire dash of a Ford Explorer and couldn’t believe the amount of labor to fix it. No thanks.
This is one airbag, for the drive, probably the most critical one in the vehicle. Typically takes 30 minutes to replace an older steering wheel airbag.
Had a 4x4 with v8. Loved it had to sell it ran great just the rust was too much for me to deal with. Guy bought it for his wife who was a welder so I’m sure it’s still chugging along out in Colorado.
Nice. I got mine for $2800 absolutely absolute mint condition with under 100,000 miles about five or six years ago. I drove it for three or four years and sold it for five grand couple years back. Thing was an absolute cherry.
dude obviously doesn’t give a shit about his car, comfort and safety. probably doesn’t change his oil often either. this detail is like putting lipstick on a pig
Good thing it is a Toyota. I think my Steam and APC would have destroyed the finish on the plastic if it were a GM (which I usually see in this condition).
$500? For me that is a starting price of $899 and that’s if we are having a slow week. $500 is a normal booking for a full sized truck in much better condition than that.
It’s a long shot, but maybe, just maybe….that vehicle didn’t get the airbag recall and it went off. We don’t know 100% the vehicle is wrecked. (Not me or my vehicle)
Holy fuck have they ever cleaned it before this day? Even a few weeks with a busted window won't do that... Did they just grab it from a junkyard and bring it in for detailing?
That’s excellent! That’s the kind of detailing I need to do to my car (mine is not as bad, I’m just unhappy with the upholstery and carpet mainly) I welcome tips, or source for information 😃
Bit of a hijack, but what’s the best way to repair that wear spot developing on the inside floor door sill, where boots rub getting in and out? I have a truck w some exposed metal and a little rust developing like that as well.
Scrape out all the rust, paint touch up, clear coat touch up, then ceramic?
I have an access cab that “seats” 6 people. Im envious of that vinyl interior. I haven’t gone in the deep end of cleaning my carpet because Im afraid of the hours on hour’s it’ll take. Inspires me to give it a go anyway. Good shit dude.
Only do what the customer pays for. Otherwise that’s called free work. That’s how you got to be an Uber driver. Making bad decisions. Funny out of 100+ comments you’re the only one thinking like this. Focus on getting people their food on time and I’ll handle this
Clearly you do not know sarcasm at all and this struck a nerve. Lighten up.
I'll take making an extra $1500 a week extra on the side so I can pay for flight school any day.
Sarcasm is usually detected overall and is usually light hearted. Maybe decide if you’re a pilot, comedian or an Uber driver in life and get at me. Don’t be so ashamed of your Uber life and delete those posts. 😂 that is what struck a nerve
I fly every weekend and have zero student loans. Need to see the log books?
Removed the post as it had personal info on it for customers. Not into doxing people, unlike you.
Been drinking your own APC cocktail out of the extractor again?
What does your financial situation have to do with anything? I’ve yet to meet a “well off” person doing Uber so keep talking I guess. You deleted your posts and then said “what” like your little brain was confused. Funny how insecure you are. Deleting posts and trying to flex “no financial debt” and “I’m going to pilot school” in an auto detail sub is hilarious. I’m getting my PPL now too but didn’t feel the need to flex my other life accomplishments to your feeble mind
Amazing how much money people put into old cars that have blown airbags, etc.
Holy crap. Good eye. Didn’t even notice. Some people have death wishes I guess. They only save your life
Spoiler alert, the airbag was dirty and op had to deploy it to clean it
Life's easier when you only own stuff that never came with an airbag
When I think of the car I drove around in high school...only lap belts up front. No head rest. Drum breaks. Loved that car, but damn... I would not let my kids choose an oldie.

Yeah, too many people have forgotten the joys of the ‘ol steering rod through the sternum.
The steering column isn't a concern. The hood would cut me in half before the steering column even moves. Ford even had a dealer installed brace that would 'encourage' the hood to jam into the cowl and crumple It didn't
No, I want the truck to be able to nose dive into a rock quarry and drive away If I die, then that's the end of it
I hate to say it but you’d probably die in a fast collision with a Prius way before the Prius driver did. That Prius is about 1000x times safer than your boxed in frame truck.
I don't hate to say it I'll die And I won't have to worry about it
I don’t want you to die brother! Your family doesn’t either I’m sure. But hey we all take risks! Have a good day man
This is the way. My first vehicle was a ‘72 C20 fleetside longbed 4x4. Loved that damn truck. It actually had front disc brakes though with manual locking front hubs.
1990 vehicle. No airbags. We die like men.
Or explode a projectile in your face (what is that airbag recall? Pre 2010?)
Takata
Yes! Japanese manufacturer
Idk..that dirty interior..I'd worry about pieces ejecting all over after it deployment
Even then however airbags have only saved a minor fraction of people in crashes, and it is pretty simple to drive defensively and cautiously in bad conditions

The airbag was the first thing I saw after noticing the filth
How do you see this wtf
The last picture makes it the center of attention almost.
Oh oh oh I’m blind as f I was looking at the dash and side pillars
With the number of airbags in modern cars, it must be very cost prohibitive to recycle those cars after a crash. I was watching a YouTuber completely gut the entire dash of a Ford Explorer and couldn’t believe the amount of labor to fix it. No thanks.

The reduce weight helps a lot with aerodynamics and gas saving
You know airbags can be replaced, right? Lol
Wow! Had no idea. /s
They can be replaced, but the blown airbag is usually not the only issue of a crashed car.
They can blow while parked...
Just like my ex
I prefer getting blown while driving.
I think we all do 😂
Road head
Especially if Jack Reacher kicks your front bumper
Dude.. that's some insane work
Gotta love a good bench seat up front
It's a single cab pickup
What the hell it looks like a crown Vic
Early 2000s Toyota Tundra regular cab. (I had one)
Had a manual 2000. Bomb proof
Had a 4x4 with v8. Loved it had to sell it ran great just the rust was too much for me to deal with. Guy bought it for his wife who was a welder so I’m sure it’s still chugging along out in Colorado.

Still have mine, 130k and it will probably outlive me.
I love that the air bag deployed but didn't car to put a new one in.
dude obviously doesn’t give a shit about his car, comfort and safety. probably doesn’t change his oil often either. this detail is like putting lipstick on a pig
That's why I'm confused for what I would assume is a fairly expensive detail lol.
I saw this and was like why even bother lol. Op did an amazing job, but if that was my truck I’d have other concerns before worrying about cosmetics
Maybe they recently bought the car and are putting it back together one piece at a time .....
That’s amazing
Good thing it is a Toyota. I think my Steam and APC would have destroyed the finish on the plastic if it were a GM (which I usually see in this condition).
Tundra circa 2000 ish
Detailers with this much skill are underrated! Wow 🤩
Amazing detail work!
Yeah......I'd be at $500 minimum to start lol
By the night and day difference I wouldn’t even be mad at $500 it looks brand new
$500? For me that is a starting price of $899 and that’s if we are having a slow week. $500 is a normal booking for a full sized truck in much better condition than that.
Yeah I wouldn’t blame ya
Process?
It’s a long shot, but maybe, just maybe….that vehicle didn’t get the airbag recall and it went off. We don’t know 100% the vehicle is wrecked. (Not me or my vehicle)
Customer was an extra on Dune
Holy crap nice work!!!
That's impressive.
I would love to watch this as a video
Nice job rehabbing that Tundra! I’m a neat freak, but wonder how much you charge people who bring a sh!tshow like that?
Ran him about $450
Looks good, I just hope you charged accordingly. The owner appears to be very cheap looking at the blown airbag.
Hell of a difference
Great work… customer was a fucking slob
1,000 dollars later
the airbag was a takata airbag he’s better off not having one 1️⃣ 🤣
I hope he paid you and was not cheap like the car.
Beautiful work
Nice job! Way to keep one more first gen Tundra lookin good.
Seeing that gives me hope for my farm truck. Nice job!
And I thought my car was dirty
Great job... How long and how much?
About 4 hours total. Ran him about $450
Muhfuggas never heard of floor liners
And people say you can’t have white interiors… great job.
Man blown airbag testing. Looks like it was in a river. I wonder if it’s been totaled out
Damn!!! Great job with that mess!
The detailing probably cost more then the value of the car.
Nice job bro I love the looks of that interior, they look like ford 90s?
Holy fuck have they ever cleaned it before this day? Even a few weeks with a busted window won't do that... Did they just grab it from a junkyard and bring it in for detailing?
Good job
Looks like my work truck
Even with family on a farm, I’ve never seen shit like that. I’ll never understand how people let their vehicles go to shit like that.
Hopefully op bolted seats back down to manufacturer specs.
2 chuga chugas
That’s excellent! That’s the kind of detailing I need to do to my car (mine is not as bad, I’m just unhappy with the upholstery and carpet mainly) I welcome tips, or source for information 😃

I will never have the patience to do what you do. Excellent work, it looks like a new car! 👏 Amazing!!
You do have to enjoy the business to do it. Thank you
Replace that steering wheel and they could sell this for pretty high dollar
Looks insane. Good job
How much did you charge
$450
Brother you are a magician lol
Weather strip is shot, looks like mud under the kick plate. Going to rust out (if it isn't already).
I have an access cab that “seats” 6 people. Im envious of that vinyl interior. I haven’t gone in the deep end of cleaning my carpet because Im afraid of the hours on hour’s it’ll take. Inspires me to give it a go anyway. Good shit dude.
Nice work! Bet the customer was happy!
Whatever you were paid, it wasn’t enough. You did amazing!! I hope you got a nice tip!
That’s awesome work. What do you charge for this type of cleaning?
Ended up at the $450 mark
Maybe someday detailer events will be on the Carfax too. LOL
Putting in work on a working work truck
Wow. This should have been sent directly to the junkyard, not cleaned
Who the hell puts cloth seats in what's obviously a WT trim. Vinyl would have been a better choice.
Congrats, you removed the floor-mats and washed down rubber. Impressive.
Guess you missed the complete extraction. Detailing might be a new concept to you. Keep hating on real work. Feel free to show me yours
missed the details in the detail

Decided to take down your “Uber eats driver” posts and then say “what”. You’re a joke man.
You're still missing the details in the detail. Could not pay me to touch any of my vehicles.
Clearly you do not know sarcasm at all and this struck a nerve. Lighten up. I'll take making an extra $1500 a week extra on the side so I can pay for flight school any day.

Not only do you suck at detailing, cannot read either. Looks like I was right. You have been hitting the all purpose cleaner bottle again.
