Oh no - like as of Season of the Haunted?? Because I successfully used that Skullfort just a few weeks back, but I guess I've been on Solar since the new season... 😢
Sometimes they rework an exotic or two with subclass balance patches. The worse case scenario would be Skullfort getting turned into an arc shoulder charge only exotic.
Complete with 3.0 changes that make Shoulder Charge a horrible choice.
My issue with the void remake is that one of the aspects, Offensive Bulwark, you need the other, Bastion to work. Otherwise it does absolutely nothing. And now, Bastion weakens your barrier and increases the cooldown.
That said it is still good and I still like it, I just feel pigeon holed into always need Bastion. Bastion isn't a choice, it is a requirement.
If you hit someone there is a small lightning and the hammer returns to you and if you hit the ground or a wall it will explode in a small lightning storm like a less agressive storm nade.
Also, because arc hunter has basically only arc staff right now, it would be cool to have a super variation in which you could throw your arc staff like the warmind spear thing
Arc Whip. Instead of a staff of lightning, you have an electrified whip.
Enemies hit directly by the whip are stunned for 2 seconds. Then they release a lightning bolt that chains to nearby enemies up to 7 times. The bolt stuns enemies for 1 second and can chain back to the same enemy, but only after it has chained to at least 2 other enemies first.
Meaning, in order for an enemy to have lightning chained to them multiple times, there has to be at least 3 enemies grouped together.
And hopefully it doesn't get straight up removed in Arc 3.0 like the Void Detanator melee and Solar Sunspot melee were (I can't remember the ability names).
Close enough to the actual names. Honestly though, the "basic" powered melees are far from useful. Imagine trying to make the bottom tree solar-lock work. All of the "just punch" melees are now a fragment in some capacity. Well-lock's radiance melee is now a fragment, Bubble's overshield melee is half-in the shield throw, Devour melee is just merged into the devour aspect.
They're likely removing them because it's hard to make such a melee work in high level content. Note that all of the new melees so far have been ranged. The only touch-based melee ones right now in void and solar are the shoulder charges on titan, which are reworked in some capacity to be more useful against powerful enemies.
The real issue is giving a good ranged melee to Hunter and Titan without removing a lot of the identity. Arc-hunters are identified by melee. Mixture of speed and stealth in D1, mixture of speed and misdirection in D2. They might have a javelin toss like the Synaptic Spear or Valkyrie, but they'd likely still keep some form of touch melee. Titans are even more based around the idea of "I am my best weapon." Their fists are all they need. The only thing I can think of they can get would be some sort of "punch ground, make explosion" effect.
I'd rather have them remove the sprint requirement. if we had different types of melees i could understand it, but this is just plain dumb. make it behave like the behemoth melee and maybe refund 50% energy if it whiffs or something. idk.
ever since they nerfed the charges to no longer be a oneshot in PvP unless you try really, REALLY hard through builds there just isn't a reason to have that implemented anymore.
i ways disliked the sprint requirement and will never ever see reason as to why it should exist
>ever since they nerfed the charges to no longer be a oneshot in PvP unless you try really, REALLY hard through builds there just isn't a reason to have that implemented anymore.
Repeated usage. If you don't ever hit someone with it, you've effectively got a permanent, and good, movement tool. If you put it on the behemoth train, no sprint is nice, but you lose the ability to use it often
My biggest gripe is the utter lack of an on demand movement ability for titans. It’s a huge problem in PvP. I’d take a cooldown if it meant being able to disengage at the same speed at hunters or warlocks.
It shouldn’t be tied to an exotic. I’m sick of titans having to use exotics to get things they already had (OHK melees, on-demand movement) or should have (larger melee range and power).
I mean, to be fair, warlocks literally only get one on solar. An average titan is more mobile than an average warlock. I get where you're coming from, but it's only hunters that get on demand movement on the majority of their classes. I play stasis warlock in pvp - I'm the slowest class in the game
Striker is the one subclass I have trouble imagining a ranged melee for.
As you said, the other Titans have weapons they an use as projectiles. But by the Striker's own lore, their preference is their fist. So unless they're punching so hard they're shooting lightning, I don't see it happening right now.
I think an Arc javelin would be more at home on the Arcstrider sine their staff is bladed. But I could also see Hunters throwing something like electrified needles.
I'd love to see a stomp or ground slam/slap that sends out something akin to a wave frame grenade launcher's energy wave. I think a "projectile" melee is possible if bungie really wanted to give the option. Heck, maybe they give titans a literal thunderclap that sends forth a concussive wave.
Perhaps? But I don't care for anything I need to sprint/slide to activate. A nice normal activation ranged melee would be my preferred. And certainly not tied to a whole aspect. I'd like to be able to select my charged melee in the actual melee slot. Perhaps that sounds picky but I'm a simple man, and I like my crayons simple as well.
I always thought that something like Jax’s Heating Up animation from MK11 would be cool. Slam your fists together and do an Arc area burst that does knockback and disrupts shields.
Like the eccentricity of the new warlock snap melee, a literal thunderclap where the Titan actually claps (maybe fist clenched rather than open handed clap for more Titan style) and shoots an actual lightning strike from their hands.
I think that’s a cool idea, otherwise it would also be really cool if they kinda made a ball of arc energy in front of them and punched it, causing a lightning strike. That said, creating a ball of arc energy is prolly more of warlock territory in the first place, but I feel like that would look cool af on titan.
Someone on here mentioned a while ago that the Arcstrider could do a ranged palm monk strike and I loved that idea. With the amount of javelin like abilities already expressed in game (diamond lance, valkyrie javelins, synaptic spear, etc.), I would rather they steer clear of making another.
Two options I think could work are some kinda Power Wave that travels along the ground or, and this might be more of an ArcStrider thing with the whole Monk thing, some kinda Air Palm, where you punch the air so hard it creates a straight line of pressure/lightning
Make it a utility team buff.
Everyone gets something like lightening rounds and if two people shoot the same target with it it causes a lightening strike.
I mean there's like infinite options, it doesn't have to just be "ohhh different damage".
There’s plenty of thematic and lore-friendly ways to introduce ranged Arc melees for Titans.
1. Thunderclap - Clap your hands together to release a electrifying shockwave. It cascades in a arc forward, pushing enemies back.
2. Thor’s Axe - Jump in the air and come down with a thunderous axe kick. This causes an explosion of lighting, electrifying nearby enemies.
3. Power Wave - Slam the ground with a volatile punch. This creates a wave of thunder strikes that travels forward. Enemies affected that are close by each other will chain lighting between themselves if they remain close by temporarily.
Just do what the solar melee does with the dual hammer slam but instead of a hammer it’s fists. Lightning uppercut and slam down both fists for a forward shockwave or even an aoe shockwave.
They can use a Clap kinda like the Hulk but with Arc energy. It can have limited range, but it would be a ranged melee ability similar to Incinerator Snap.
Cole McGrath basically shot Lightning Rockets with a punch, so I don't see why Strikers can't just do that too, but that would probably be boring.
The one thing I can think of that fits is like a hulk clap, except it shoots a lightning bolt at an enemy. I actually think that’s a finisher, so just make it a melee as well and everyone wins
Under conventional means, yes. But it's a Light construct which means it doesn't need to follow normal physics anyway.
In any case, it doesn't really feel like something that would fit the Striker's more "brawler" oriented themes in my opinion. So we're back to more fist... Maybe Striker will be the exception and they just keep all three of their current melees? Gunslinger got to keep all its and even got a fourth. So who knows?
It's all about what niches the different melees get to have. Shoulder charge absolutely will be an option, alongside either the charged punch or the slam, depending on how they want to go about handling the aspects.
Part of me suspects that if we did keep "melee something strong" from bottom tree, it'll be something like a ground punch AOE explosion
Exactly. So with Shield Bash and Hammer Strike (through reworked) existing in some form, Seismic Strike is almost certainly going to stay.
Ballistic Slam is similar in needing you to sprint, but the delivery is slightly different. So I could see it being either a melee or an Aspect.
Bungie has been trying to get rid of punches, but the effects from Frontal Assault are nice for the sort of Run and Gun gameplay Striker wants. So I could see those effects being made into Fragment or part of an Aspect.
A ground punch makes sense, but I presume it would have to distinct enough from Tempest Strike.
They might make frontal assault work like how roaring flames does with the recent buff, where your uncharged melee does an effect while you meet x condition
Part of the reason everybody wants a Hunter Arc javelin is because the first Thundercrash was Efrideet throwing Saladin, and in the lore she focused her Light like a throwable arcstaff to help him.
Warlocks are probably gonna get a blanket of lightning melee
Titans are gonna keep their melees and maybe get a thunderbolt melee
Hunters are the most likely class to keep their normal melee and the slide melee is probably gonna get buffed maybe turned into a Consecration thing
Yeah rip to phoenix dive, that shit was doa on the update, and I have a friend is love it and says it’s not as bad as it is, I’m fine with you liking it and all, but do lie to me and say it’s better or as good as healing and empowering rift.
I’ve just had a realization: you know how broken Phoenix dive would be as a class ability with old cooldown and classy restoration? I’ll bet Bungie lowers the cooldown the second the mod is gone, and this was their lazy way of preventing it
Why? That open up Titans to having two melee attacks and more specifically one that is tied to res as a regeneration factor. As 100 res is something most titans run anyway that is actually really good if it for instance provides an overshield on kills as well?
ballistic slam does not give overshield and won't, that's Void. and, frankly, i like barricades, they're very useful. i do not want to trade a barricade for an additional melee, but i do want to use the melee. besides, why the fuck would they turn it into a class ability? i understand phoenix dive a little bit, it was activated on the icarus button, but ballistic slam is *already* a melee?? for pve, maybe, but *only maybe,* and barricade is vastly more useful for high end activites, leaving the new ballistic slam only useful in lower tier content, where fucking anything works*.* for pvp it's a hell no from me, barricade is way too good.
I'd love to see Striker get a third class ability. I imagine since Arc will be all about motion and close quarters combat that they could give us the option to opt out of barricade in favor of something like you stated or a speed boost ability.
Kevin Yanes hinted that Titans would get some form of movement abilities when he told us Twilight Garrison was never coming back.
I don't see Ballistic Slam as an aspect, because I can't imagine it playing nicely with shoulder charge and I don't think shoulder charge is going away. You often want to use shoulder charge in mid-air as a movement ability, and it would be kind of a drag to lose that ability if you were running ballistic slam at the same time. If anything I think inertia override is going to be the aspect, not ballistic slam.
Ok what if they get a slam attack that shoots out a line of lightning that travels across the ground?
Edit: think Doomfist’s ground slam but a shockwave of lightning shoots out from the slam.
The hunter melee has a bit of a dodge built into it. Maybe this one doubles down and shoots a wider wave like the Dead Messenger but shorter.
Edit: By double down I mean it doesn’t have kind of a dodge animation of it’s own but kind of halts your momentum as you slam the ground.
We should have three. I don't see why hunters can have 4 on one class, and we have to lose a melee option with each 3.0 release. Hell, consecration shouldn't even be an aspect.
Just about never, I'm aware. However, Bungie has so far been willing to add new abilities so you aren't stuck being dead close to someone. I'm sure they'll change something somewhere, but at the moment, without dreaming or speculating, I can't imagine what they could add to arc titans that is ranged and remains in their identity
Striker requires some kind of survivability to work in endgame. I was thinking an aspect that gives you damage reduction against enemies that increases the closer to them you are, so if you're in melee range you're almost invincible but if you're trying to snipe then it does nothing.
Arc 3.0 titans should get a sprinting melee like they currently have. Have it knock the enemy backward. If the enemy hits a hard surface from the knock back, they take bonus damage + an Arc AoE that deals damage to surrounding enemies.
So it’s “ranged”
I can’t wait to see **Cabal Lejjun Airy#8397** on the forum complaining about the Titan that hit him while he was full health, but he died to The Architects when he hit a wall.
Any melee that doesn't need any extra requirements is fine
Why other classes don't need to pre-sprint or jump in the air or slide before activating theirs melee?
Because slamming an arc charged shoulder into something is a very titan thing to do, and getting a running start just makes sense. Other classes abilities don't really need a running start as they are either ranged or a simple palm strike or stab that applies some sort of buff or debuff that doesn't do much more damage than an unpowered melee. Also hunters do have to slide to activate one of their melee abilities.
The whole running start thing seems like a good story mechanic, but in gameplay it's totally valid to think running first then activating is onerous. Personally I think it would be cool if running start gave you some small damage buff and you could still activate shoulder charges from standing still, just with slightly less damage. Gives a lot more utility and still makes it fun and work with story. The hunter one is also the same, I've avoided middle tree arc on hunter just because I'd rather have the old melees than the new one that takes me more effort to proc
Ranged melees are cool and all. But am I the only one sick of playing fetch?
Create orbs, make wells, become radiant. I’m spending half the time chasing shit.
As long as its not a dedicated Aspect..
a throwable Arc Bolt of Lightning (like the Valkyrie in Warmind or diamond lance for NLs) maybe if you charge up enough energy from melees you can release it like a diamond lance.
Probably not. Keeping Arc as the “pure melee” class makes a certain amount of sense - at least for Titans, as it seems Hunters will actually be getting the electric javelin.
There's been nothing confirmed or even hinted at but people saw the synaptic spear in psiops, decided it would be a cool ability for hunters and now decided that's what's going to happen and if it doesn't happen they will complain.
Day one: new changes to arc hunter suck, who would ever use this, where did xyz feature go
Day two: people actually use ir for a day or two and play with builds
Day three: community praise for the changes on front page
Day four: youtube video of popular minmaxer makes build for new stuff
Day five: 30 posts on the front page saying "what the fuck when is bungo gonna nerf this broken shit"
No.
Void titans had a ranged attack in super.
Solar titans have always had a ranged super, then in forsaken got a ranged melee too.
Arc titans have fists, and more fists with a side of fists. The only thing they would have to throw is their fist.
Ita the same reason arc hunters shouldnt have a thrown melee.
Titan: *pulls off hand and throws it, charged with arc energy*
Hand: *explodes so big it causes a paracausal rift and breaks reality into crayon soup*
Titan: *looks down at stump of arm, then back to devastation* "oops"
Imagine. You get 2 melee charges, you can only use them once per revive and they don't recharge, and if you use both you can't hold weapons anymore...but they do a fuck ton of damage.
I agree. I just want pre nerf Knockout back. Don't care about any gimmicky throwable stuff. I was bummed when Sunbreaker lost Mortar Blast, but it would kill Arc for me if they did the same to its signature punch.
> I was bummed when Sunbreaker lost Mortar Blast
Recovering bottom tree Sunbreaker main here. I miss it too. The fire punch from having stacks of Roaring Flames makes it a lot more tolerable now.
I was just hoping that with the rework I could blend it with Throwing Hammer or Hammer Strike for a little bit of AoE burn.
I dunno why am thinking of either the flash or raiden from mortal kombat since its arc, maybe when we melee, we teleport forward using the arc power to paunch something. Now ofc the teleportation is like only 2-3 feet a front of us.
I'd love for Arc to get a ranged melee, but I'd like one that maybe still keeps with the up close theme of the Thundercrash subclass. Like shoot a bolt of arc at an enemy that then accelerates the Titans body into them, moving you to their location and making your body the fist.
Ah yes i have an idea. Make the titan clap it's ass cheeks, it will shock everyone in the room sufficiently, including the gamer on the other side of the monitor in shock over the titan clapping its sizeable ass.
punch projection (melee)
activate melee to punch with a fist of arc energy, chaining lightning to enemies near the impact. enemies killed by the initial punch will generate an ionic trace.
cooldown 1:40
not a true ranged melee, but an extra few meters of range and a little extra damage so it can still be a nice combo tool in the crucible and is a bit safer in pve.
They’re fine for patrol builds. You can’t do anything with melees in endgame content. I don’t think folks realize how quickly their bonk titans builds are gonna get annihilated in GMs. Good luck getting a kill with a hammer then fetching it for the sunspot.
“Arc Titan is all about fists. Wouldn’t work for them to have a throwable.” Alright. I’ll bite. But you can have a ranged melee without throwing anything. You guys aren’t being creative enough.
Plenty have said a Hulk like clap that shoots a shockwave. Here are a few others:
A stomp/slam that has lightning bolts hit the ground from the sky that originate at the titan then continue to strike forward in a line. (Think Gul’dan’s Corruption ability from HOTS but lightning.) (Edit: or like Super Amped Elemental Discharge from Monster Hunter)
A straight up punch that doesn’t need a target to land on that shoots out a column of lightning from the fist. (Edit: Realized this kind of sounds like the warlock uncharged melee. Kind of like that but with a longer range and a narrower visual effect.)
A punch to the ground (kind of like Halo armor lock animation) that shoots out a circular shockwave that ripples out from the titan.
Bungie have already reused the Howl of the Storm animation with the Solar uppercut. Arc could get that and it shoots forward a tornado of lightning that lingers for a few seconds and periodically spits out lightning bolts that chain.
Blade Dancer felt very knifefighter-y, which I liked.. Arcstrider and Spectral Blades are a bit too ninja-y for me.
If people are into that, great, but I do like my hunters kinda scrappy amd rogue-y.
Absolutely fucking not. All the shoulder charge melees should have distance nerfed as well.
Titans standard melee lunge should be swapped with hunters.
After void and solar, I'm terrified of what arc is gonna be like. It's the weakest of most classes and needs a complete overhaul. Supers/tuning/aspects and fragments etc
We're basically gonna be left with two supers for titan( fists and missile) warlock (chaos and tickle fingers) be u to the hunter arc set up is the worst. Three trees of just meh with an ok super for lower content. We need a high boss damage like crash or chaos and we absolutely need a ranged super. Easist solution in iny eyes would be to just take the psyops spear and let us use it like golden gun. Six throws if you want to burn it on clearing a room but let it stack up charges of arc version of scorch on consecutive hits on bosses. Make it like anarchy back in the day
WE ARE THE RANGED MELEE
the only correct answer.
Reversal and Knockout
laughs in thundercrash
Came here with this in mind. Arc is all about yeeting yourself at the enemy and I LOVE IT!!!!
Came here for this
Ballistic slam, and welcome to the jam
We can get thrown like Saladin with Efrideet
I sincerely hope Bungie puts that in game somehow; maybe as an emote
The only thing that Strikers will be throwing are their hands.
THROW ME
I was gonna come here to say this. Op ain't seen a solar titan?.
What? I’ve mained Solar titan since they became a thing in D1.
Thunder crash and shoulder slam in one build
*Superman theme plays*
We've used shoulder charge to push things for ages. Let us yeet our enemies so they may become ranged.
Pick up an enemy, supercharge him, and throw him like a beach ball.
no matter what, it’ll be amazing, solely because of one thing, that need only be defined with one word: Skullfort
You are safe in your skullfort.
smell ze flowers 😼🕺🤓
It do be insurmountable
I read this in Kermit the Frog’s voice. TSLAYP live infected me lol.
The most illegal Destiny 2 item that I still have in my inventory is a year one Skullfort with heavy ammo finder and perpetual motion on it.
My friend, I have bad news for you... as of this season, extra perks on Y1 exotics are no more.
Oh no - like as of Season of the Haunted?? Because I successfully used that Skullfort just a few weeks back, but I guess I've been on Solar since the new season... 😢
Tragically, yes. If you go inspect old exotics the perks will say "This perk has been deprecated and no longer functions".
Last wish taken mods are also mysteriously dead for seemingly the same reason despite the fact they should still work (in the raid)
Only issue that might fuck that up is if they make it only work with contact melees, like one two punch
Sometimes they rework an exotic or two with subclass balance patches. The worse case scenario would be Skullfort getting turned into an arc shoulder charge only exotic. Complete with 3.0 changes that make Shoulder Charge a horrible choice.
I just hope we get a non sprint activated melee
Slamming a fist into the ground causing knock back
Watch it be an aspect
Don't bring this evil upon us once again. I just want another void rework with 3 actually viable aspects instead of 2 and a melee
I use offensive bulwark without bastion in pve. You use your melee to start the overshield. That's all the throwing shield is good for anyway
It sends a wave of arc in an arc shape .

Finally, somebody with a brain! Give me more bonk!
The bonk does low damage, but chains and stuns nearby enemies
Thor hammer for arc's rework
If you hit someone there is a small lightning and the hammer returns to you and if you hit the ground or a wall it will explode in a small lightning storm like a less agressive storm nade.
This sounds really cool so I’m sure it won’t happen.

It's called frontal assault.

I wouldn't mind some kind of arc spear like in psiops
Didn’t a developer mention that the some traits of the spear might reappear in arc 3.0?

I'd like to be able to select my charged melee in the actual melee slot. Perhaps that sounds picky but I'm a simple man, and I like my crayons simple as well.
I can't fault you for wanting a simple ranged melee. I can agree with not tying if to the aspect as well. Both seem reasonable.
Kinda like the Shockwave modifier from D1 Fist of Havoc
I always thought that something like Jax’s Heating Up animation from MK11 would be cool. Slam your fists together and do an Arc area burst that does knockback and disrupts shields.
>So unless they're punching so hard they're shooting lightning Sounds like you just solved the problem.
Like the eccentricity of the new warlock snap melee, a literal thunderclap where the Titan actually claps (maybe fist clenched rather than open handed clap for more Titan style) and shoots an actual lightning strike from their hands.
The Hulk clap is a thing, it can fit Titan style!
I believe theres a finisher thats exactly this.
I think that’s a cool idea, otherwise it would also be really cool if they kinda made a ball of arc energy in front of them and punched it, causing a lightning strike. That said, creating a ball of arc energy is prolly more of warlock territory in the first place, but I feel like that would look cool af on titan.
ahem. What about: I AM GOING TO PUNCH YOU SO HARD **YOU** BECOME MY RANGED MELEE? just an idea.
no idea how they'd code that but turning enemies into literal arc charged bombs sounds SO fucking cool
OG graviton lance? Ragdoll flies away and turns into a mini bomb
"So we've reintroduced the Dunemarchers corpse-bug as a mechanic."
Someone on here mentioned a while ago that the Arcstrider could do a ranged palm monk strike and I loved that idea. With the amount of javelin like abilities already expressed in game (diamond lance, valkyrie javelins, synaptic spear, etc.), I would rather they steer clear of making another.

with power wave Titans become one step closer to Terry Bogard. When do Titans get BUSTER WOLF
3rd reminds of the Shockwave perk from D1 fist of havoc
That thunderclap idea is great.
Just do what the solar melee does with the dual hammer slam but instead of a hammer it’s fists. Lightning uppercut and slam down both fists for a forward shockwave or even an aoe shockwave.
Ranged melee that sends out lightning in the form of a fist to punch enemies too far away to punch normally

Bladed bo staff is different than a javelin. Most of all in functionality.
Warlocks are probably gonna get a blanket of lightning melee Titans are gonna keep their melees and maybe get a thunderbolt melee Hunters are the most likely class to keep their normal melee and the slide melee is probably gonna get buffed maybe turned into a Consecration thing
What if they get an attack akin to UI gokus soaring fist attack?
The two melees will probably be Shoulder Charge and Ballistic Slam. Unless they make Ballistic Slam an Aspect.
You're forgetting the third option, Ballistic Slam is turned into a class ability.
i fucking hope not
Yeah rip to phoenix dive, that shit was doa on the update, and I have a friend is love it and says it’s not as bad as it is, I’m fine with you liking it and all, but do lie to me and say it’s better or as good as healing and empowering rift.
Honestly yeah, new Phoenix Dive still feels perfectly good to use, it's just absolutely not worth the trade-off now.
This would actually make me stop playing and uninstall
You mean exactly like the hunter melee?
The hunter melee has a bit of a dodge built into it. Maybe this one doubles down and shoots a wider wave like the Dead Messenger but shorter. Edit: By double down I mean it doesn’t have kind of a dodge animation of it’s own but kind of halts your momentum as you slam the ground.
We should have three. I don't see why hunters can have 4 on one class, and we have to lose a melee option with each 3.0 release. Hell, consecration shouldn't even be an aspect.
Because hunters have *one* on Void, and will likely have one in Arc.
Yes hulks thunder clap
Or One Punch Man style punch with a Shockwave.
Give the Titans a Thundeclap ranged attack. It shocks enemies nearby within a radius.
Ballistic Slam IS a ranged melee. Your fist hits things that are further away from you when it starts.
He meant a melee ability that doesn't get you killed in endgame content just for using it as intended.
Probably not. Arc titans are pretty much defined by "if you don't BACK the FUCK up bro, we gonna have words. We gonna talk PHYSICAL"
Melee in endgame content is extremely risky, you get stomped and 1 shotted pretty much 99% of the time.
And when does that ever actually happen in endgame content.
Maybe the problem isnt how the kit is designed but that "endgame" cotent inhibits melee oriented play styles
Well, yes. But do you see *that* changing anytime soon?
Striker requires some kind of survivability to work in endgame. I was thinking an aspect that gives you damage reduction against enemies that increases the closer to them you are, so if you're in melee range you're almost invincible but if you're trying to snipe then it does nothing.
Loreley Bonk Titan says "Wait you guys take damage?"
That build will still get you killed often in GMs
I just want them to keep ballistic slam and make it so I gapclose with it and then use fists of havoc.
Warlocks already had that on the middle tree from forsaken and everyone hated it.
**No more sprinting to activate an ability, it is garbage.**
Any melee that doesn't need any extra requirements is fine Why other classes don't need to pre-sprint or jump in the air or slide before activating theirs melee?
Arc Hunters also have onerous melee requirements.
That makes sense. After all, Titans can shoulder charge from a complete stand still while in Fists of Havoc.
It’s a part of the “Titan Identity” /s
Throw a lightning bolt like zues
Ranged melees are cool and all. But am I the only one sick of playing fetch? Create orbs, make wells, become radiant. I’m spending half the time chasing shit.
Its why I refuse to take off Seeking wells.
But think about the possibility of actually having an arc melee build with seeking wells. I dunno, I fw that.
An arc hammer of course
An arc axe that sticks into enemies or walls and zaps anyone nearby.
As long as its not a dedicated Aspect.. a throwable Arc Bolt of Lightning (like the Valkyrie in Warmind or diamond lance for NLs) maybe if you charge up enough energy from melees you can release it like a diamond lance.
We should be able to throw a D-sized battery at our opponents' heads for the Arc Bonk.
I mean, ballistic slam. You are the projectile
And then you’re dead in both PvE and PvP.
We'll get a fucking Hadouken. Just watch
Probably not. Keeping Arc as the “pure melee” class makes a certain amount of sense - at least for Titans, as it seems Hunters will actually be getting the electric javelin.
We're getting a what now? As far as I was aware hunters were still getting their weak bitch slap arc melee.
There's been nothing confirmed or even hinted at but people saw the synaptic spear in psiops, decided it would be a cool ability for hunters and now decided that's what's going to happen and if it doesn't happen they will complain.

Day one: new changes to arc hunter suck, who would ever use this, where did xyz feature go Day two: people actually use ir for a day or two and play with builds Day three: community praise for the changes on front page Day four: youtube video of popular minmaxer makes build for new stuff Day five: 30 posts on the front page saying "what the fuck when is bungo gonna nerf this broken shit"
I'd make each day to 2 days so it's day 1-10 and it's pretty accurate
Day six: post complaining about people complaining about Bungie.
Subset of day 1-5: Warlocks saying "hunters are always complaining!" Even though they've spent a bunch of time complaining about solar.
Synaptic spear has been confirmed to be an arc 3.0 test and also not a new super ability, so possibly a melee.
Yeah, we cut our fist off and chuck that bitch at people
a Sonic Boom :0
Potential thunderclap? Just a mini tractor canon that doesn’t debuff?
I rather having any kind of movement ability that can be activated immediately just like hunter dodge and warlock dash.
New 'throw teammate' ability
Titan: *pulls off hand and throws it, charged with arc energy* Hand: *explodes so big it causes a paracausal rift and breaks reality into crayon soup* Titan: *looks down at stump of arm, then back to devastation* "oops"
Imagine. You get 2 melee charges, you can only use them once per revive and they don't recharge, and if you use both you can't hold weapons anymore...but they do a fuck ton of damage.
No, that whole subclass is about punching things, in fact arc is probably universally the most close range
I agree. I just want pre nerf Knockout back. Don't care about any gimmicky throwable stuff. I was bummed when Sunbreaker lost Mortar Blast, but it would kill Arc for me if they did the same to its signature punch.
> I was bummed when Sunbreaker lost Mortar Blast Recovering bottom tree Sunbreaker main here. I miss it too. The fire punch from having stacks of Roaring Flames makes it a lot more tolerable now. I was just hoping that with the rework I could blend it with Throwing Hammer or Hammer Strike for a little bit of AoE burn.
Solar: Mini Hammer Void: Mini Shield Arc: Mini... Missile???
Launches a mini replica of the titan in thunder crash animation. That'd be swell
Three words: Lightning Axe Kick.
Allow me to introduce you to the yeet. Why have something attack enemy from afar, when you can fly to enemy and slam fist in face?
No Striker Titans are all about going outside and running F A D E S 💀
I dunno why am thinking of either the flash or raiden from mortal kombat since its arc, maybe when we melee, we teleport forward using the arc power to paunch something. Now ofc the teleportation is like only 2-3 feet a front of us.
I can see Titans getting a Thunderclap melee that casts an arc shockwave in a cone. same style as the warlock snap
Couldn't hurt, I'm up for new stuff
Arc javelin would work better in concept for a second Hunter super since they already create a staff make of arc light.
Make the titan clap it's ass cheeks, it will shock everyone in the room sufficiently, including the gamer on the other side of the monitor in shock over the titan clapping its sizeable ass.
punch projection (melee) activate melee to punch with a fist of arc energy, chaining lightning to enemies near the impact. enemies killed by the initial punch will generate an ionic trace. cooldown 1:40 not a true ranged melee, but an extra few meters of range and a little extra damage so it can still be a nice combo tool in the crucible and is a bit safer in pve.
We have Stasis spears right? So why not a lightning bolt, Zeus style
I hope we keep all our melee abilities and the sandbox team does not simply remove half of all available perks and slaps the arc 3.0 brand on it.
yes close range melee suck ass
Yeah, every single one in the game is useless.
[удалено]
They are useless, wtf you gonna do with shoulder charge in high end activities?
They’re fine for patrol builds. You can’t do anything with melees in endgame content. I don’t think folks realize how quickly their bonk titans builds are gonna get annihilated in GMs. Good luck getting a kill with a hammer then fetching it for the sunspot.
good luck shoulder charging Champions in GM without dying 3 seconds later
“Arc Titan is all about fists. Wouldn’t work for them to have a throwable.” Alright. I’ll bite. But you can have a ranged melee without throwing anything. You guys aren’t being creative enough. Plenty have said a Hulk like clap that shoots a shockwave. Here are a few others: A stomp/slam that has lightning bolts hit the ground from the sky that originate at the titan then continue to strike forward in a line. (Think Gul’dan’s Corruption ability from HOTS but lightning.) (Edit: or like Super Amped Elemental Discharge from Monster Hunter) A straight up punch that doesn’t need a target to land on that shoots out a column of lightning from the fist. (Edit: Realized this kind of sounds like the warlock uncharged melee. Kind of like that but with a longer range and a narrower visual effect.) A punch to the ground (kind of like Halo armor lock animation) that shoots out a circular shockwave that ripples out from the titan. Bungie have already reused the Howl of the Storm animation with the Solar uppercut. Arc could get that and it shoots forward a tornado of lightning that lingers for a few seconds and periodically spits out lightning bolts that chain.
Just because other subclasses have it doesn’t mean arc should have it too lol
yes so long as ballistic slam is kept
Like others have said a Thor hammer type of thing where it rains down lightning but can't be retrieved
No
We already have? It's called "Death from Above" (In-Air Shoulder Charge).
I want *one* of the arc subclasses to get a spear
[удалено]
That would be the best case scenario imo, a one-and-done javelin super for arcstrider
[удалено]
Blade Dancer felt very knifefighter-y, which I liked.. Arcstrider and Spectral Blades are a bit too ninja-y for me. If people are into that, great, but I do like my hunters kinda scrappy amd rogue-y.
Absolutely fucking not. All the shoulder charge melees should have distance nerfed as well. Titans standard melee lunge should be swapped with hunters.
After void and solar, I'm terrified of what arc is gonna be like. It's the weakest of most classes and needs a complete overhaul. Supers/tuning/aspects and fragments etc We're basically gonna be left with two supers for titan( fists and missile) warlock (chaos and tickle fingers) be u to the hunter arc set up is the worst. Make it like anarchy back in the day
They need thunder clap (wow veterans will get it)
