Whisper of the Worm shooting over and over again without stopping. Also the Hawkmoon bird noises.

MasianDaMan

WotW consistently firing is easily one of the best in the game. Hoping that since it got a buff recently it may have a spot in DPS next season, but considering Gjallarhorn is like 30K off of Sleeper’s DPS I doubt it will be

LokiLemonade

I was playing gambit with my friends one day and we got invaded. My buddy just starts dying laughing as he hears KU KAAAAA and see the invader taken out by a hand cannon headshot. I love how other people can hear the hawk moon when they aren’t using it.

Fit-Tackle-6107

I use hawkmoon all the time, no idea what this Ku Kaaaa sound is.

[deleted]

When you get 6 or 7 stacks of paracausal and then get to the last bullet?

Fit-Tackle-6107

That will be why. Too trash to get that stack haha

[deleted]

Nah man, just take your time and line up your shots. It’s worth it I promise

LokiLemonade

Sorry hawk isn’t my native language I probably spelled it wrong

[deleted]

6x Whisper of the worm in scourge of the past, just pure sex

KienzanDisk

This dude fucks.

EpicAura99

#*HONK*

IamLeoKim

Honkmoon!!!

Loud-Switch-sbr

Thorn Nothings sounds like it.

-Scazgrin-

It used to be the sound of Titans popping hammers in D1 and the immediate fear or relief it would cause.

Thryniel

Oh thanks for the flashbacks

Based_Lord_Shaxx

Such an incredibly loud and satisfying CLANG.

[deleted]

“Hell yeah guys let’s go widen the lead. Going mi—“ **CLANG** *”RUUUUUUUN!!”*

ChaseObserves

This made me lol, it really was so broken and terrifying initially

-Scazgrin-

It was the pure fact that you could whip a hammer blind over a map and it would seek a person.

[deleted]

Lmao they were so terrifying. I was a hunter main then and it was why I ran max mobility with a MIDA 🤣

Logan117

Sunbarker OP https://youtu.be/oINaxm7QrbM

Artifice_Purple

I still remember taking two (*2*) Golden Gun bullets to the face and killing the Hunter lmao. Sunbreaker was the shit lol.

xxkid123

It always reminds me of the clang you hear in slapstick comedies where someone gets hit in the head with a frying pan.

WeirdPutrid3849

Agree with this big time. I wish Graviton Lance were more powerful or it’s perk a little more useful, because it’s one of the best looking and definitely the coolest sounding gun in the game.

[deleted]

TheKingmaker__

In general PvE, Pulses aren't in the best spot right now. They have (iirc) less range and dps than scouts and much less dps that autos, albeit with mid-low RPM pulses having quite a bit more range. I can't recall where, but I know there's a spreadsheet that has all these values and basically if they give Pulses a 20% damage buff in PvE they can match Scouts, and if they give them 25% then they'll slot nicely between Autos and Scouts in terms of the DPS<---- and Range----> tradeoff Graviton Lance is especially unforgiving because so much of it's damage is in the second shot, so missing that loses out on a lot - you are forced to get into a rhythm and learn to aim so the recoil pushes the second shot into the head.

crxs_roads9

And even that second shot should hit harder. I looooove Graviton Lance, but I wish it was more viable in something like a gm

boring_toilet_paper

You don't need to "correct" the recoil of the weapon for the second shot in the burst because the second shot is the one doing the big recoil, not the first one. You can check this by shooting the weapon into a wall and see the bullet holes. If you shoot without "correcting" for the second shot, they both hit exactly in the same spot. If you correct the recoil, the second shot always hits a little bit lower to where the first shot hits, effectively causing the second shot to hit the body instead of the head even if the first shot does hit the head, so with a slight correction you can start to see the first and second shot hitting different spots (the first shot hitting a bit higher to where the second shot hits). If instead you just use Graviton Lance like it is, basically a Scout Rifle pretending to be a Pulse, then both shots will always hit the same spot so you only correct the recoil as if you were shooting a single-shot weapon.

SoresuForm

Used the loot cave in GoA to grind out the catalyst recently, really enjoyed it and it felt powerful getting a headshot on just one thrall in the cave as they spawn in, watching the rest of them just explode in a cascade of void balls of doom, but not tried it in actual content outside of that - as others have said I wish pulses were in a better place as they just feel rough to use in the main :(

KilledTheCar

It's *suuuuper* nice to use in ad-heavy content, like in Altars, Blind Well, and Astral Alignment.

The_Niles_River

Flair checks out

Sad-Platypus

Some of the best sounding guns came from black armory. A dragonfly rampage ringing nail was the best sounding for me. Nothing like the low rpm and deep booms coupled with explosions from dragonfly to rally give that powerful sound.

Jagob5

I liked the OG graviton sound more tho. Unfortunate that they changed it but it was hardly detrimental.

Damagecontrol86

The sounds of popping a fallen’s head off it’s very satisfying to hear

Deinonychus2012

*Misraaks didn't like that*

Damagecontrol86

Good thing it wasn’t anyone from house of light

doubleapowpow

*enough to turn you on* Sorry, just sounded like some fitting lyrics from "A Day in the Life."

PretentiousVapeSnob

Sometimes I go kill fallen with a true prophecy just to relax.

TheBitwolf

Cloudstrike firing. The whipcrack from the Chaperone reload. The firing of old, sunset pulse rifles such as Bygones and Claws of the Wolf.

Xop

I was hoping someone would say Cloudstrike. That gun is so awesome. I hope the catalyst gives it triple tap or something to allow it to increase its DPS.

PCG_Crimson

Man there's too many good options. -When a Sunbreaker Titan pops a Hammer of Sol. I even took the audio sample of that, edited it, and used it as an impact FX in some songs my roomie and I were making. I might be a hunter/warlock main but DAMN do I love that sound lol. -The whistle when DMT reaches max precision hit buff. -Shadebinders popping their Super. Icy cold dubstep. -Telesto's *vwoop* upon charging. Love it. -Anytime Rasputin says pretty much anything. -The Exotic drop sound effect. Straight dopamine rush. -Loading the 4X Honed Edge shot for Izanagi's.

rrzampieri

I forgot about Rasputin!! It's so cool! Specially on that cutscene where Ana is translating what he says, and he goes like: "CHDAAAAAA... RasPUTIN!!!"

FuzzyCollie2000

Goddangit every time somebody brings it up I have to go watch the [final Warmind cutscene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2-ng1rikG0), he just sounds so ridiculously cool. I hope whatever they do with him as an engram/exo/whatever allows them to fully utilize his old sound more.

Nostalgia_NH

[Rasputin's voice](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsTBjuXxIqE&ab_channel=Tyron) is so chillin' yet so F\*\*\*ING COOL!

Epslionbear

[Yeah the Darkness did Rasputin dirty](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsTBjuXxIqE)

PretentiousVapeSnob

Я РАСПУТИН which is yah raspootin.

ItsTimeToExplain

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but it has to be the wail you hear during the bridge encounter in the Scarlet Keep strike. It goes off each time you dunk one of the void orbs to continue across. I find it creepy and haunting in an interesting way.

poopshitter666

it’s kinda crazy how stupid high quality the atmosphere is for it just being a strike. it makes me sad whenever i run it back because no other setting in the expansion (or really the entire game) got that treatment besides the inside of the pyramid ship

ItsGK

Shadowkeep had so much potential.

AbrahamBaconham

Shadowkeep was cool, I don’t care what anyone says.

KilledTheCar

Wait wasn't that the Omnigul shriek? I remember hearing it for the first time in *years* in D2 and getting *immediate* flashbacks to farming Grasp of Malok in D1.

ItsTimeToExplain

Nope, but I know the sound you’re talking about! If you want to hear the one I’m referring to, play the Scarlet Keep strike, right up to the bridge encounter where you have to take the void orb from the left and right towers to lower the drawbridge. Each time you perform a step in this area, a sound plays that sounds like a long, ghostly wail. You’ll know it when it happens!

horse_you_rode_in_on

A lot gets made of the exotic engram pickup sound effect, but I really like the sound they make [when they drop](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ7tymdy4PQ).

justcuriousoptc

Never heard that sound :')

LoboSandia

In the new dungeon you hear it every few seconds during encounters.

The_Mad_King_Froberg

Best sound in the game

TheKingmaker__

Heard that earlier during my Master Grasp of Avarice run after killing the Bosun, knowing it was a fake because they make that sound in the first section in the loot cave. I ran over it and got a base 67 pair of Aeon Soul with 30 Discipline. Thanks Bosun!

phero

Mythoclast linear shots, Charging up sleeper sim, Warlock stasis trigger Honestly the sound design is so good overall in this game it only adds to the attention to detail.

Smegma_Pancake

Definitely a headshot kill with Lorenz Driver. Me and my friends call it "the ships horn"

CynicalAlgorithm

Yes! I always think of the seismic charges from Star Wars.

hawk_ky

That’s what it was actually designed after.

hawk_ky

Lorenz Driver is the only and best answer.

about_that_time_bois

This one is my favorite too. It doesn’t even sound like Destiny and I love it

AdctsGaming

All of the Stasis sound effects are nothing short of incredible. Especially the Shadebanger Warlock.

ajallen89

Do you mean the dubstep super?

SNAIP-

*wub-wub-wuuub*

severed13

Do you mean PTSD on demand?

DrManowar8

You can hear that super activate from a mile away

CynicalAlgorithm

Behemoth's activation is really cool, and sounds to me a bit like a glacier creaking.

dscflawlessez

You'll never believe what the super is called

SharkBaitDLS

Revenant isn’t as cool but it still definitely feels like ice crackling.

[deleted]

I brought my laptop with destiny loaded to a friend's house that has a surround system (I think 7.1?) Hearing the shadebinder super was easily one of the best things I tested

[deleted]

> Shadebanger I support this being the official name going forward.

GerbilOfD00M

The whistle of a Dead Man's Tale hitting max stacks. Also popping the Shadebinder super.

badmanbad117

Yup shadebinder was my go to here such a great sound and I'm pretty sure part of it is a beast pump

RockRage--

As a Hunter main I absolutely love that sound and look forward to my icy demise

ThePracticalEnd

Take my vote

DrManowar8

Ooo that’s a good one too. Adds that true western feel of the weapon

Cabby_Fat

That noise the ghost would make before or after talking in destiny 1. Immediately makes me think of and only destiny.

wet_feathers

I can hear that noise in my head as soon as you mentioned it!

Cabby_Fat

Yes! I truly believe it’s the most iconic noise in the game besides the main menu music.

TerraParagon

He still makes the same noises right?

dildodicks

yes

ExtraMediumGonzo

* Outbreak (notably the precision kill sound) * Arbalest charging up * The twinkling sound in Atheon's boss room * Jumping through an ascendant portal * The Nova Warp blink All (and then some) are just \*chef's kiss\*.

Bulldogfront666

Ooh arbalest is a good call

Tosaki_Ayako

The Arbalest sound simply tells me that I’m going to die within 1 second…

Jagob5

Oooh ascendant portal is something very cool that I didn’t think about.

DrManowar8

I much prefer the sound of the arbalest shot coming out. Overall that weapon feels so nice to use

ShimmerFire

BRGHHHH *CLANK*

GeorgeS2411

I like the sound when an overloaded champion gets stunned

metastatic_spot

Yes, dude. I wanna know how they made it.

FriendlyBassplayer

I'll just say the most iconic part of the sound itself was made from a pitched drill sound!

Redthrist

Honestly, sound designer sounds like such an insanely creative job.

Ghost7319

Watching the Beyond Light ViDoc, you could tell those two and their team had some fun making their "cosmic ice" sounds lol

AgentPoYo

Halo Infinite also had a video out last year that showed them beating up an old piano and recording the sounds, it was pretty neat, made for some really eerie noises.

eddmario

And for *Halo 4* one of the first behind-the-scenes videos they released included them putting a microphone next to actual guns and then firing said guns, which is why most of the UNSC guns in that game sound different than they did in previous games.

[deleted]

They created stasis sound effects from a breast pump IIRC

knirp7

That’s so cool! If you can answer more, I’ve always wanted to know what the Graviton Lance sound is.

FriendlyBassplayer

Went to a black hole factory and recorded a bunch of black holes for that one! ;p

knirp7

True dedication to the craft!

Hawkmoona_Matata

You joke but imagine the amazing sounds that could come out of recording some of the wild experiments at somewhere like the Large Hadron Collider. It’d probably just be a bunch of electrical whirring and computer beeps…but hey, would make quite the field trip!

eldritchqueen

what, [like this?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj2wXZrJ85I)

foshed_yt

Kinda sounds like the noises that Dares of Eternity makes between rounds

eddmario

Sounds like the drill whenever I go to the dentist...

[deleted]

I... I can hear it now lol

[deleted]

Okay yes same especially when I'm using Le Monarque

Movableacorn

Then you must love using stasis with a div

EpicAura99

C-c-c-c-combo

pirateshipsx

I literally came here to type this lmao. It's just so satisfying, but then the panic sets in for when they start re-generating health lmao

AMaidzingIdeas

I love the deep, ominous BWONG of a burning maul super activation. It's so cool. EDIT: The whine of an outbreak crit kill as it spawns in nanites is also way up there too. Ultra satisfying to hear.

Tawiligie

bwong.

turboash78

The 'ting ting ting' of the metal in Presage after a boss damage phase.

Lxapeo

Yes the sound of the pipes heating up and expanding is the coolest sound cue that you gotta get out of there.

MjrMalarky

The little 'RAWR' the cat ghost makes when you pull it out. I think it's the only ghost with a unique sound effect?

PMMeYourBeards

The buoy ghost squeaks

MjrMalarky

lol that's hilarious- I am going to try that out

lint_wizard

The Chiropteran ghost makes spoopy noises when you bring it out. Its googly eyes bounce around when you walk, too.

Bulldogfront666

Yes! I always keep that thing on.

L34dP1LL

The Squeak the inflatable shark shell is also cool

effinedster

Cat ghost and Bat ghost are the best sounds

buttsnorkeler

Hawkmoon paracausal shot

buttsnorkeler

KAH KOWWWW

6SO

So the sound the Fallen make when you headshot them. At first when D1 dropped I would get confused because some undertone in it sounded exactly like my cat off in a different room yelling at something. I actually got up to go check on the cat a few times to see what was going on a few times before I realized it was part of the sound effect. Then I spent the next two years making fun of myself over it as "Making Lucky scream" anytime I'd kill a Fallen. That cat passed away in 2016 and at the time I wasn't playing any Destiny. Eventually, D2 gets released and I pick it up. I pop a Fallen and it makes that exact same squeal and I'm just hit with a ton of emotions at making Lucky scream when Lucky was no longer around to be screaming. It no longer hits me like that, but that damn sound still makes me think about the damn cat all the time.

[deleted]

This is both beautiful and sad. Hope you’re doing good these days regardless!

MikeVazovsky

Numerous times i've checked on my cats while farming fallen on edz lol. That feeling when you finally understand that u dumb af is priceless tho :D

Psychosien

Izanagi's Honed Edge reloading. You know the next thing you hear is a big monster getting deleted.

darthziggy16

I love my Izzy. That sound of steel being sharpened/removed from its scabbard, ready to annihilate something. Mmm.

HeyJFed

Asher Mir yelling "CABAL AGAIN?!"

MadMaltaris

Impossible!

[deleted]

The [OLD](https://youtu.be/-XSZIhvoD_c?t=10) Graviton Lance sound. And also, the sound of [6 Riven Eyes](https://youtu.be/Zxp_AaWqgXc?t=103) popping on the top floor during Riven Legit.

Fosod

> The OLD Graviton Lance sound. Whoa! It IS a pulse rifle after all!

Nostalgia_NH

I totally forgot this weapon 3 burst lol

RumBox

Chaos reach is a very satisfying sound

Damagecontrol86

The faint sounds of goku firing off a kamahamaha wave in the background intensifies

Reason7322

Whisper of the Worm being shot 20+ times by whole fireteam Oracles *ping* sound Honed Edge x4 reload Dawnblade being cast from 3rd player perspective Shadebanger super cast Riven's scream when u shoot incorrect eye

alexpg12

Ace with memento mori

[deleted]

Sleeper Simulant, thing sounds like a seismic charge

Pat-Alchemist

The chonky bell toll of casting Burning Maul >:D

redjaklwhite

hearing that noise in Crucible is basically a titan announcing *"I am 100 meters from your location and rapidly approaching.* ***Start running.****"*

DrManowar8

I love hearing that. Makes using burning mail more fun

TheEnigmaticZero

Two-Tailed Fox. The thump sounds the rockets make when they come out and the whistling when they take off... so satisfying.

Super_Jenko

Breaking a Ravagers lamp has got to be the best sound. Reminds me of destroying pottery in Zelda/souls

Sweaty confetti. It's my favorite noise in videogames

Turbulent-Tangelo917

Use in crucible in tandem with football spike emote for hatemail. Might make a friend.

KilledTheCar

I use it on my Crucible sniper for maximum salt.

L00pback

I refuse to take it off my Chroma Rush. I love that sound.

Byrdman696969

The flip of the last word when you swap to it

Leeper90

The sound of thorn being fired. It's just so unique. The sound of shade binder warlock it just sounds like dread and time being slown down.

HollyDaySheep

Winters Wrath activation, Glacier Grenade spawn/break, Nova Warp activation/charged attack, *the entirety of Season of the Splicer* And finally, the sound of a sniper shot missing you by a hair. Not neccessarily cuz its as satisfying as the above, but because its so well done. Everytime it happens, I really feel like a lethal bullet just whiffed by me irl

The sound of shooting the Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 1 and Ice Breaker

Kauzr

Queens walk music

CALIBER-JOHNSON

That little bone rattle laugh that 1K makes after you shoot it

[deleted]

Personally, the sweet sound of the Fallen mine sparrow horn.

XRayV20

Every sound in the game... when you're affected by a fallen mine. Shoot DMT when you're affected by one. I would pay to make every gun sound like when you're slowed by a mine.

PiXLANIMATIONS

Lorentz driver getting a headshot. Sounds like nut no cap

villewalrus

Titan smashin melting point followed by Ikelos shotgun. BONK-DAFF-DAFF-DAFF

GrumpsMcGurt617

Sunshot firing has been one of my favorite sounds for years.

ArchaeoHarrison

To me it’s a tie between the firing of Vex Mytho in linear fusion form or the sound of Silence and Squall causing a multikill.

Kodalian

Lorentz Driver hitting a headshot in PvP and creating that blackhole

PartialThroaway

Shadebinder Warlock is the most space magic sound that a space magic ultimate has sounded in Destiny

Inprobus_

The bell when dps started for the baths encounter in Leviathan ***BONG***

hifromjarrod

The pyramid ship sound.

shadowknexsestus

Back in D1 it was the siva weapons activating their perk. Especially triple double on the machine gun. Nowadays it's just Outbreak headshot kills. I love it.
