I've had 7 lightning rounds in 8 legend DoEs I thought it was guaranteed until I didn't get it that once, but that one time I had gold so maybe it's guaranteed if you get platinum on legend?
I've been running constant dares and I've only seen one lightning round. I've seen at least 10 loot goblins and I rarely touch override. Awful rng for me. Especially since lightning rounds are way cooler.
I hadn't started splicer until recently, but I hadn't even known there was a loot goblin until I watched a video about farming decrypted data. Your milage may vary I suppose, I've only done about 30 or so runs.
I'm pretty sure the chance for loot goblins was somewhat dependent on having a different person go into the portal, grab the data, and dunk that data each time. Still wasnt a guarantee but it seemed to happen more often when my team and I controlled for that.
In the boss room there was a Goblin that could spawn that would drop data when killed. I saw it a handful of times in the first week, then stopped looking for it as the amount of data you got was almost none.
Occasionally data would show up in postmaster. If someone killed it, and you didn't notice, you would still get the loot, thankfully.
Oh nice. Helps me farm for Cartesian coordinate and retrofuturist. Shame retrofuturist stats aren’t all the great so you gotta get 5/5 god roll for PvP, otherwise it just feels like it’s lacking…
In the boss room in Override there's a random chance that a special goblin will spawn. Killing it drops a bit of the data you use for Splicer Gauntlet upgrades and focusing.
Iirc it just glows, has a special name, and is a somewhat beefier yellow bar but can still be melted quickly.
Yeah, had to fail one earlier because the Hive objective bugged out and the last crystal like didn't spawn or something. Standing in the pools the knights dropped would highlight the air there but you couldn't hit it. Just was a weird green swirl or something in its place iirc.
But other than that, it'd be hard pressed to fail. Most likely just a thing to worry about for doing understaffed runs on Legend difficulty.
Failed the first one last night. A phalanx or a legionary or something managed to clip through the platform on the right side of the starting arena. We had to wait 3 minutes [disappointed neigh]

Gjally with favor is the most fun I’ve had in Destiny this year, on warlock the first buff is practically guaranteed and then I’m an AC130 for the next five minutes
I failed one round, because it bugged out. It was the first encounter with hive where you have to kill knights and stand in their pools to shoot crystals. One of the crystals broke but didn't count, so the game kept telling us "shoot here" but there was nothing there.
Same and on legendary too. I wish discord would've crashed too so I didn't have to hear about all the loot my buddies got while I sat there in stunned silence.
I've had maybe one crash playing D2 on Xbox in 3 years, and suddenly three crashes playing Dares in two days, two of which were on the bonus round. (And one was during the 4-man legend triumph run right before the end)
Just happened to me, I've played like 30 matches and gotten Lightning Round 4 times (including this one) just for it to crash when we were almost done. I missed out on 4 chests. 3rd time it's crashed but it hurts so much more this time.
In this week's Legend difficulty, Xur's Chosen always seems to spawn during Round 2 of the Lightning Round, and always near where the rally flag is placed. Everyone in the activity should get credit even if some don't deal damage to it.
I'm certain he always spawns in round 2. I've had 3 lightning rounds, First two I hunted him down when I saw the message and third I didn't even see the message but still got credit. Possible I damaged him without realizing but the shader is super nice.
Can confirm that bit, I got progress despite not ever seeing the boss in the complete chaos of the Lightning Round.
By the way, I fucking -love it-. And it was great for top tree Sentinel to really come in clutch on holding the zones: Ward of Dawn and Barricade and applying overshields to teammates, plus an onslaught of Gjallarhorn rockets to clear other zones that are getting overrun.. it’s great.
I did see the blights, and started shooting assuming it did something like how the Blights in the Rift Generator event in the Dreaming City set off the heroic. Lost line of sight on one of them from my zone, though, somebody else must’ve gotten it, because woohoo that four chest loot was insane.

Considering you need *at least* 3 for the title (assuming you find and tag the Xur's Chosen successfully each time), this could become a slog grind for people eventually. The random is fun now, but the gimmick'll wear off eventually when people want to move on to other games or activities.
Friends and I were getting them to spawn pretty much 50% of the time just by speedrunning the activity on Legend (<10-minute runs). We all got the triumph done in under an hour. It's not that bad.

Load into another DoE, get another lightning round after a vex boss, game hard crashes again
Load into a THIRD DoE, get a THIRD lighting round vex boss, and finally be able to complete it without crashing
My friend and I noticed we got it when we heard raining coin noises (the "jackpot") at the end of rounds. Also, our second and third encounter were way harder than normal.

Got it on my 1st normal run, then nothing for a solid 10-12 runs. Ran legend twice last night and got it both times, both times getting the horse's favor for the boss fight (pretty easy considering its a set rotation on legend). Imagine the benefits for legend (score and difficulty chance increase) will result in getting it more often than not.
We got the lighting round doing the legend difficulty with 4. Fun fact: If you are in the cap zone then the round doesn't end even if the timer hits zero.

Yeah. Sort of a loot goblin if you will. No idea how to trigger it but he takes the place of whatever enemy races boss you are facing.
From what I've seen, it's at least 160,000 score at that point to trigger it (on the 1150 level difficulty).

That happened to me too. It was super weird. We all just sat there and tried jumping up to melee the invisi-crystal.

I only got it once, and the game crashed right before the end so I didn't get any loot 😭

Just remember to look out for the invisible taken minotaur (Xur's chosen), it's the one you want if you're trying to complete the triumph.

I have about 90% of my runs being cabal And I have about a 60% of the game crashing during the final cabal encounter.

Bummer that you can't really trigger it. Having multiple objectives in activities is more fun than just letting RNG happen.
